Fast and efficient service. Great takeaway menu. Reasonably priced

This place has gone downhill. Ordered a delivery last night. Rotten chips, thick congealed curry sauce and dry skimpy duck. Total waste of money. Definitely not my local choice from now on.

Well, that was the worst, Chicken Chew Mein, we've ever had!!! Dry noodles, with dry Chicken & nothing that resembles a 'Chew Mein', Gutted!!!☹️☹️☹️

The food used to b really good from here up until about 3 years ago..obviously a change of management etc, chef.. I ordered what was usual for us but it was all so very dry, the spring rolls, the mains, the rice even.. definitely would not recommend Chinese cuisine from here at all..anyway, that’s life, I’m Darryn Hinch, shame shame shame !!!

Not great - fancied chips and cheese after a 200 mile drive to Elgin. Chips were as dry as rice cakes and the cheese was finely sprinkled over the top. £4.50 wasted and went to Tesco to get something edible.

Amaxing! Thoroughly enjoyed our meal...saltnpepper squid and honey chilli chicken. Plenty of food...both stuffed. Excellent food ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

the worst chinese in elgin is happy city, but chinatown is a close second. i asked if i could have the honey chilli chicken less spicy and the girl on the phone said ‘yes, we can make it with no chilli. i’ll write down no chilli.’ Upon arrival, my honey chicken is, in fact, honey chilli chicken. i called the restaurant to ask why it was so spicy and i was told ‘we can’t take the chilli out the sauce’ over and over, even though i kept saying ‘but you said you can take out the chilli.’ she then said ‘if you come we can give you a new one.’ i said i cannot drive yet and that’s why i ordered a delivery. She had nothing to say to this, so i just said ‘well i guess i don’t need to order from here anymore, goodbye and have a good night.’ and hung up. yes, i am upset over this because i have food issues as it is and i cannot eat very spicy food for lots of different reasons, i can handle some chinese takeaway honey chilli chicken but most the time, like now, i have to ask for it to be less spicy. rice is meh but prawn crackers are nice, still wish i could give 0 stars though. do not order from here if you have food issues and or cannot handle VERY spicy food and especially if you don’t want to get ill. my bf ate his bc he can handle spice but he said the crispy shredded beef he got was very oily which is ok but the inside of the beef felt oily too, nothing like how crispy shredded beef should. he was sick early hours this morning and is now ill. what a disgrace of a chinese takeaway.

Very poor service after a hour and a half was told its in the taxi to be deliverd so after another half hour and no show we phoned and stopped the order so we will not advise use them

We really enjoyed our takeaway from China Town. It was our first visit here. We enjoyed the Singapore chow mein, crispy shredded beef in sauce, house special foo yung and crispy chicken. It was clean tasting and satisfying without being too heavy or stodgy.

It seems to be taken over by a bunch of travellers. Pancake Roll. Beansprouts were replaced with cabbage, in fact, it was just cabbage and carrot with an essence of meat. Fried rice. Nothing savoury/spicey was added, not even soy sauce. Just rice, fried. During the summer the portions were satisfactory. The flavours were authentic. The cook knew what he was doing. Now, a microwave meal from ALdi/LiDL is tastier.

Been our favourite take away for years. Unfortunately they've changed their recipes. Sugar heavy in everything. (Soup in particular sickly sweet). Tried several times in hope it was just a mistake but unfortunately something here has changed for the worse .

I had one a few weeks ago which was tasty as I hadn’t had a Chinese in ages but had ordered the same thing it took over a hour to come when she said 40mins it was dried out and chicken was very dry disappointing when your hungry and the food isn’t what it should’ve been no more Chinese for me 😞

The first few times we ordered were on a Saturday. The food was amazing, arrived quickly, and the woman on the phone was lovely. The last two times we've ordered it's been on a Wednesday and with the same orders. Both times despite telling man answering the phone that one of the meals needs to be gluten free, the rice has arrived with soy sauce in it. When the man was asked why we received a supposedly gluten free rice that had soy in it, he told us that he thought coeliacs could have a little bit of gluten. This has happened twice now, and is extremely dangerous. Coeliacs cannot tolerate gluten, and someone with a gluten allergy could be seriously ill from this mans ignorance. I will no longer be ordering meals from this place, as it puts my health at a serious risk.

Been here twice now and is now our go to Chinese in Elgin. Food is very good. I have tried several dishes the chicken wings are great, lemon chicken is lovelythe salt and pepper chicken veg fried rice and salt and pepper chips are also a favourite.

Best Chinese takeaway in Elgin, hands down. It is a little pricey but so worth it for the food and the portions. We only order from here as far as Chinese food goes!

Gorgeous food! Lots of choice and plenty of it! I would recommend this restaurant highly. There were 5 of us and we all managed to find something we loved and all left feeling full. Great service too!

Normally I would place my order over the phone at home then by the time I'd driven in the order would be ready. Wide range of dishes, very good service and reasonable prices.

Food was really tasty. However waitress made the table feel really uncomfortable was made to feel very rushed. After having the first two courses she asked if we were full yet. Then started clearing main plates when people were still eating and asking if the two who had finished wanted deserts and asking the other two eating if they would be ordering deserts. I had to ask if they were closing soon due to feeling very rushed to which she replied no. She would be stood over the table whilst we were eating our food which made us feel like we should hurry up and finish so we can leave.

Enjoyed a very pleasant meal. Staff were pleasant it was quiet when we were there but suspect it would be busy at weekends.

We've made visiting China Town Buffet part of our tradition when on holiday in the Elgin area. The buffet is table service and is cooked fresh to order. You can order as much or as little as you want and can reorder the same again throughout the sitting. Food is delicious, fresh and hot when it arrives (unlike self-service buffets where you never know how long the food has been sitting). Staff are very friendly as well and will keep you right on how to order.

First time there. Buffet menue but you pick what you want and its all cooked to order. Couldnt fault the place Great food and a good price. Will defenitly go back.

Lovely wee place, we went for the buffet, not what you expect as you order from a good sized fixed menu and you can order as much and as often as you want for a fixed price. Lovely staff very friendly and helpful.

First time i have been. The best Chinese ive ever had. Miles better than the ones in Sheffield. Would hoghly recomend it.

I don't know why this place isn't busier?! The off the menu buffet style is well worth the price and the food quality is actually very high. Yes, the off the counter style is preferable but actually give this place a go and you'll see that fresher is better.

Second visit for this Moray exile. Genuinely warm welcome, very attentive staff, easy atmosphere and super food. Frankly everything one could wish of a Chinese Restaurant. Only downside is that from the outside it looks like a pure takeaway, and could do well to advertise the gem of a restaurant which is accessed via a side passage! Thank you May, Alena and kitchen staff......my 92 year old Mum is not easily impressed but she’ll definitely be back!

The service was lovely and the waitress was very polite, kind mannered and nice, the duck wraps were lovely, however; the soup tasted like old dish water, the singapore noodles came back on me all night and had some sort of ham thing through it that i dont even think you could class as meat. The chicken curry sauce was lush but the chicken was slimy and chewy and as for the honey chilli chicken, that tasted like feet, chewy disgusting and to be honest we put it in a tishue and into the bathroom bin, not even edible. £16.90 buffet, i wouldnt have fed that to my dog. Truly disappointed and a waste of £50. The only result of the evening? £50down and feeling sick. Horrific.

We've always loved this restaurant, they look after you from the moment you arrive and can't do enough for you. Nothing is too much bother for them and it's great if you have little ones.

Food was ok, but was a bit tricky system. Being a buffet it had the restaurant system as we had to order every meal we wanted to eat. Portions were good.

Think they should change their oil more often.
