Our food was delivered quicker than I expected. The food was fantastic tonight. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Surprise bag of spring rolls & fortune cookies ! Greatly appreciated. Will be ordering again

Expectations vs reality. Ordered a crispy orange chicken and recieved a sliced chicken schnitzel with a boiled fanta tasting sauce on the side. Very strange experience.

Szechuan chicken had such a watery sauce, chicken was tasteless and the noodles were quite bad as well.

Really good food. We travel all the way from Llangollen to pick up takeaway from here because it’s the nicest! Always trying new dishes and they never disappoint. The service is great and the order is always ready and quick to collect.

We use this restaurant regularly and the food is always excellent. There is a bonus you can pay the bill by card none of this cash only nonsense!!!

My husband and I ordered a take away from this restaurant, having seen their proclamation on their web site that they weren’t the cheapest but they were the best. We ordered sesame prawn toast, king prawn balls and sweet and sour sauce with boiled rice for myself and a mushroom curry with egg fried rice for my husband. The toast was greasy and chewy, but the worst part of the meal were my prawn balls which had a dark grey coating inside the thick and chewy batter. They were accompanied by the most luminous sweet and sour sauce I have ever seen. My husband fared no better; his curry was obviously a packet mix with some mushrooms thrown in and the egg fried rice was swimming in grease and totally inedible. An expensive mistake. We thought we would try a different Chinese take away. We won’t be back.

Average Chinese, not bad, not great, just okay. Beef is a bit jellified at times and they often don't mix the tenderiser properly leaving a clear jelly like liquid in the food which isn't very appetising but a quick mix and heat in microwave usually fixes this. Prawn crackers are nice.

Was given 45 minute wait time, so figured I'd enjoy a nice erotic bubble bath with my wife, then next minute the phones ringing saying its here after 15 minutes

Won ton awful filo pastry with nothing in it. Had a delivery everything was luke warm. First and last time

Ate from here a few times now and everytime the food has been lovely. I would highly recommend china star. Never waited longer than 10minutes for my order and always enjoyed it. Reasonably priced too.

Ordered £40 worth of food at 8pm, due in one hour. Ring up 1.5 hrs later, they state they've been to the address but no reply. Address has the front door directly in the lounge, no one had knocked the door. We were watching and listening for them. They accused us of having the TV too loud, poor excuse as it wasn't. She said driver beeped, that's a lie. Ordered from these many times never again after accusing us of lying, no one attempted to deliver the food, end of.

Had the chips and lamb satay last night.. was absolutely amazing.. really enjoyed it xx

Awful food possibly the worst Chinese I have ever eaten and I’m honestly not a fussy eater. The ribs were fatty and Szechuan sauce was like gravy and the noodles soggy and over cooked. Cheap nasty meat. The whole meal pretty much went in the bin! Will not be offering again!

Very nice. Sitting here full tummy. Enjoyed tge food. Only criticism due to covid having to stand outside waiting for your name to be called. But that's not tge fault of China Star.

Just tried this takeaway tonight for the first time as our local one was closed for the evening. We will now be a customer of China Star from now on. Excellent food quality, amazing portions and a polite service from start to finish with a friendly delivery driver. Well done !!

Having moved into the area recently, we have been looking for a decent Chinese, and until we found the reviews on China Star, were trying several, which really did not come up to scratch. The only criticism that I would make was that the order was missing one of the sauces that was ordered, but I will put that down to either the telephone order being not heard correctly, or the restaurant being very busy on a Saturday night. Rating the food, it must be 10/10 - not only the best I have found locally, but I would also say the best I have found in the UK. A good sized menu which covers most tastes, and the Singapore Vermicelli was to die for. The portion sizes are also very generous, so much so, that next time we will need to order less ! Will be calling them very soon for another order.

I ordered the Szechuan sauce which was like water and had zero flavour and the chicken chow mien we ordered came without the chicken

Everything we had tasted fresh and exactly what we asked for. Can't recommend this place enough I must say this place takes some beating. Definately use this takeaway again.

We've been coming here since they opened and they never disappoint. The staff are always lovely and friendly. The food came bang on time, they cater for your tastes, I like certain dishes a little more spicy etc it always comes just perfect. Hopefully it will be open again soon to be able to dine in.

After trying to decide on our New year's eve takeaway. We decided to try China Star in Rhostyllen. We had never tried it before so was a little worried. So glad we did. Excellent delivery time. I am a fussy eater and they did my meal exactly as I wanted it. The food arrived hot and was very tasty. My daughter had crispy noodles with chicken. My husband had special chow mein and I had peppers onions and mushrooms in black bean sauce, it was delicious. Think we've found a new takeaway.

Absolute utter garbage hour and 10 minutes late. Tried phoning but still can't get through

Nice food but they are so unorganised, tell you uts ready in 30 mins, turn up your waiting round for another 30 mins with about 10 other people, then sometimes you get home & they have messed up your order as well.

Don't waste your time or money!! Extortionately overpriced ordered crispy beef and received crispy seaweed! When I rang i was told I was not charged for the crispy beef althought after adding up on the menu I know I was!!!

Absolutely fantastic meal we had tonight very fast on home delivery, the food was piping hot, couldnt fault in any way would highly recommend

Crikey! What a fine eatery THIS is!

Don't know what happened but the first time we have ordered food was lovely...this time however its going to end up in the bin as even the dog doesn't want to touch it. Everything smells of old oil and tastes of onions. I literally feel sick. I've ordered beef and got pork or something else very dodgy that's haven't seen beef or even been on the shelf near to it. It's late, I'm still hungry and now definitely not happy because I've wasted £30 odd on food that's not eatable. It deserves 1 star if not less. Will never go back

Don't be put off by the grumpy man on the phone as this is a proper good Chinese take away...lovely fresh food served with a passion I haven't seen since the silver jubilee...myself & Trevor were on route to anglesey when we spotted it...and glad we did.

Had to give 1 star as there was no option of 0 stars. Rang 19:45 to place my order, was told 1 hour maybe 1 hour 10 mins delivery time. No problem. The time passed so I rang (21:12) to check on the order, was told mine was the next out and they were running behind but was assured food would soon be here. These things happen and it’s a Saturday night. Rang again 21:56 to cancel order after giving up on them, they stumbled on words making excuses and offered to do the food half price but I said to cancel anyway. The driver turned up 15minutes later (it is a 12 minute journey from the Chinese to my home in the car) so I sent it back after already cancelling. The delivery driver was lovely and understanding and she was the only person I can actually give credit to in this situation. Unfortunately cannot comment on how the food tastes as after waiting 2 and a half hours for a delivery we didn’t get to sample it but I have never ever had such a let down when ordering food. Was the first time ordering from here and had hoped it would be our new go to but now I will be strongly discouraging anybody to order from here.

Purely based on the very rude man who takes orders over the phone. He mumbles, is unhelpful, rude and just hung up on me. We will not be going here again. I suggest you get someone else taking orders. RUDE. And who only accepts cash in 2020!

Ordered from here for the first time as the place was recommended to me, beef in black bean sauce fried rice and chips, delivered really quickly and pipping hot when arrived, and was really nice!!! Its so hard to find a nice Chinese that you would go back to, but definitely will be ordering again, highly recomend😁😀😀😆

Lovely food, only once had a problem where they delivered the wrong food but came back right away with the correct so I cannot fault their wonderful drivers or cooks for that point. Would recommend 100%

We were looking for a restaurant that delivered a meal on a Friday evening. Wow we were not disappointed. Staff lovely taking order, food delivered within 30 minutes, all piping hot and everything tasted beautiful - needless to say going back this weekend. Thank you everyone.

Can't fault the food, it was lovely but the customer service from the person on the phone was awful. Phoned up to ask about a missing rice to have attitude and told I didn't order it after them re-reading the order back to us when we placed the order and it was clearly on the order, then tried to charge us extra for the missing rice!

Kind of disappointing, they do really good food and deliver but recently put their prices up for minimum delivery from £10-15, this will probably stop me ordering with them in the future.

Visited twice in December 2019. Each time experienced excellent food,service and courteous staff. Only fault i had on first occasion was the low temperature in the dining room. Supplementary heating was in place second visit.J hope has been remedied as I believe " China Star" has been redecorated. All in all excellent

Family post-Christmas meal out. It was a last minute decision which they easily accommodated. Food service was really quick and absolutely delicious!A meal for six was quite reasonable and everyone enjoyed their food. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Chinese food.

The food is delicious the gentleman that serves customer skills but am afraid the ladies that work here talk to you like something on the bottom of your shoe

Ordered food for delivery food arrived on time and was delicious overlaid by £10 without realising within £10 minutes of food arriving the delivery driver returned with my overpayment which I had no knowledge of, lovely to see such honesty would definitely recommend not only for service but also quality of food.

Food arrived exactly as ordered and piping hot!. Very tasty and reasonable prices.Great option for those traveling from out of town and don't drive in the area. Delivery came within 30 minutes from ordering though I ordered early in the evening. Only thing is they did not take a credit card so had to pay in cash.

Just had takeaway phoned up for delivery spoke to a lady who i dont think likes talking to customers or just pure ignorant couldnt wait to get me off the phone and as a result got my order wrong when i phoned up to tell them a man answered and told me the lady must not have heard some of the things i had ordered he did offer to send them out once ive paid for them but sorry i want all my meal at once not 40 mins after the first has arrived china star get someone decent on the phone youve lost this family we wont be ordering again

We decided to try China Star for a birthday takeaway after a recommendation from a friend. There were a couple of positives, delivery was within an hour and the quality of the meat in the meal was very good.

This is an excellent chinese restaurant outside Wrexham, easy to find and with a large car park. The food is always superb and at very reasonable prices. Their takeaway and delivery services are virtually non stop. The restaurant is bright and clean but often is not very busy, sadly because it is great value. Try it.

Would order again. It’s great that they let you customize your order. This is half of the omelette and chips.

Wrong order our special chow mein very tasteless and most important no meat at all in it. Out order was 27 pound and the delivery driver came to the door with no change asking me if I had change. The salt and pepper chips were awful just onions and peppers with normal chips I would never order from here again.

This has to be the best Chinese in Wrexham, and they deliver! They offer a great varied menu, and the food is lovely. Well worth the wait for delivery..as it is a wait.

I have been going here since it first opened. We have more takeaways than we do eating in however have sat in on more than 12 occasions. Went here last night and the portions have gotten so small, you seem to have triple the amount when you have a takeaway but yet the price is nearly double when your eating in. I will stick to just having takeaways from now on as eating in isn't worth the money. Really sorry to leave a bad review but it's an honest one

Brilliant food. Better if you eat in which you would expect however the takeaways are very good too. Personally as a family used this place on numerous occasions and never disappointed. The one down side for me is you get more for takeaway by qite alot and its alot more expensive to eat in and half the portion. We'll worth a try.

Got a take-away here last night. The restaurant was empty, presumably because the entrance contained the owners kids, who were running around, shouting “what the ****” at the top of their voices and then collapsing in hysterical laughter. I got my food and left - and then found I’d been shortchanged by a fiver.

Awful service rang for delivery tonight at 6.40pm and was told it would be 45 mins rang back at 7.50pm with only a quick sorry it’s on its way..! Then had to call again at 8.20pm as still had not arrived... however whilst on phone the driver knocked the door... so a 45 min wait ended up being nearly 2 hours and they knocked off and insulting £1.20!!!!! Shocking Customer service!! And the food wasn’t great either I wouldn’t have given any stars however it won’t allow that!!!!

Great food, as a result it gets busy so be prepared for a wait for delivery especially at weekends. Cash only for take away if collecting. Really wide selection on the menu and all delicious!

This has to be the best Chinese in the Wrexham area. Consistently good quality food, great prices very quick service for takeaway collection. The restaurant is very good too if you want to eat in. Delivery can be quite a wait at weekends, but that's because they are so good.

As always very ggod food with great service must say the special fried rice and special chow mein are the best i have eaten highly recommend

I ordered from there on Sunday for me and my boyfriend, the guy who we ordered from on the phone was extremely rude to my boyfriend when he went to pick up the food. I also got extremely bad food poisoning from there, such a shame as I loved it from here but will definitely not be ordering from here again. Would advise people to stay away, not the first time I’ve heard someone being ill from here either.

Just had a takeaway from here. . . . . . Awful. £5.50 for spare ribs, not even 5 full ribs ? Not the red spicy type, normal pork= bland. Singapore vermicelli, hardly any meat, peppers prawns etc, all noodles = bland. Everyone of my family disappointed. £42 wasted on a bland, tasteless take away. Will never order from here again and would advise nobody too either. Had far far better.

Enjoyed our meal from China Star once again. Food hot on delivery (Marchwiel) & everything present. Good value for money & consider it the best Chinese in Wrexham that delivers.

So me and my partner ordered from there before. No problems but a couple of minutes ago he phoned and tried to order. Since we have done so in the past we didn't look at the menu. The person on the phone was rude if my partner got the item wrong he kept saying look at the menu. He was not polite at all. Felt like he was rushing us.

Ordered for the first time last night the woman was very friendly on the phone, the food was spot on and the delivery driver was very friendly too! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for good food.

The delivery driver was rude so refused to pay £2 for delivery and all I got was attitude so closed the door(still paid for food mind). Then when serving food all we had was cold mush. So phoned up the restaurant and again all I got was attitude. Expensive food, poor customer service and half of it is in the bin. Don't waste your time or money on the ignorant people.

I have ordered from China Star Rhostyllen on multiple occasions. The food has always been adequate/good even! They do a great crispy chicken in Cantonese sauce dish wish my husband & I both love! I wish we had ordered that last night! Last night we decided to order with China Star but we decided to order dishes we'd never had before. I naturally chose to continue with my delicious crispy fried chicken but opted for a different sauce (plum sauce) this is what was delivered . .

Ordered 2 vegetarian meals from here both contained chicken even the noodles and bean sprouts when we complained she did nothing but argue that it was egg I know what egg looks like but even then it shouldn’t have been there not even an apology disgusting

This really is Wrexhams best Chinese, clean, bright, great staff and genuinely fantastic truly authentic Chinese food. Best I've had outside of Hong Kong. As long as they can get some more "lucky Buddha" beer in, it'll be perfect!

Popped in here withy my daughter one evening. The outside appearance may be a bit offputting, but the food is very good. we had the Banquet for 2 and they were more than happy to change a couple of the dishes.

Being very keen on Chinese food, I asked the receptionist at the local Travel Lodge if there was a good restaurant nearby. The China Star was recommended. I started with ribs in a sauce (can't remember which variant) which was delicious & unusually, fried in a thin batter. Followed by a house special curry with egg fried rice. It wasn't fancy, but I'd have to say in the 50 or so years of eating Chinese food (& cooking it myself), it was one of the best meals I've had. The staff were courteous, but not too attentive, giving privacy to eat ones food, although I was early, so most custom was via telephone for delivery or collection.

Food was....... ok. Staff where clearing the table every two minutes which gave us no privacy. Bar staff singing and humming to background music which was annoying. Very disappointed with our visit after reading the reviews. Won’t be returning or recommending. Quick in quick out. Very overpriced too £8 for a chow Mein ???? I don’t mind paying good money fir good food but £8 a dish is poor for this place. I wouldn’t mind if it was actually nice. Won’t be returning.

Me and my husband come here very often but we visited last night and had to leave and her review as the food was the best we have ever had!! Service as usual was excellent. House white and rose are lovely! We ordered the lamb with mushrooms and sweet and sour king prawns! Absolutely to die for! 5 stars again China star!

We ordered 3 vegetarian options because we don’t eat meat and they ended up getting 2 of them wrong. It was disgusting and we’ll never order from here again.
