China Star in Norwich

Very good Chinese this. Had beef chow mein and BBQ spare ribs. The beef in the chow mein was a lovely flavour, and the ribs were lovely n succulent. Only reason I haven't given 5 stars is there could of been a little more beef. Though the ribs made up for it with the amount of meat that they had on them.

Only for take out. The special fried rice does not seem fried but the side dish( stir fried vege & chicken ) is good. The big prawn fried noodle taste is good with lots of fresh prawns. Recommend the Peking ribs which is covered by sweet source. The wanton soup is just normal. It is a better Chinese food in Norwich although it’s a bit far from city centre. It’s very popular in the neighborhood though.

You guys really need to start delivering. If you did you'd pick up a hell of alot of business

Had a meal from here last night, the food was lovely, well cooked and nice and hot. I had a chicken chow mein, rice, lemon chicken and sweet and sour chicken balls, all of which were really tasty. I would definitely buy from this Chinese takeaway again.

I have lived in the area for a few years and there are three Chinese takeaways next to each other on Sprowston Road! The only one I hadn't used until recently was China Star, which I regret! Because the food here is superb. It's hot, fresh and well cooked and served by friendly staff. My only issue is that the place is so popular there's often a long wait, and the card machine they use is a nightmare! So take cash if you can. But mid week is better. I highly recommend this place for the food though.

Had sweet and sour Cantonese chicken strips with noodles and chips. The chicken came out of the dish stuck together and was like eating rubber it was disgusting. The noodles were fine. The chips were shaped like chips but nothing inside them just a plateful of fatty batter. Really disappointed as we went by the marking of 4.6 review. Shall not be returning

Ordered egg fried rice, crispy beef - it had a lovely flavour and crunch to it and not too sickly like some Chinese takeaways. We also had the tofu in yellow bean sauce and pork dumplings which were both delicious. Staff really friendly, helpful and gave us complimentary prawn crackers. We ordered in person and popped to Prince of Denmark for a swift pint while we waited and food was ready within 30 mins.

They have a menu link for Wix. Cant order on it though so what's the point.

After reading all the positive reviews decided to give it a try as been struggling to find a decent Chinese. Firstly no delivery and no card payment. Parking is a nightmare in the location but most of all the food was tasteless and dry, one of the worst I've had.

Tried this takeaway while visiting Norwich based on the 4.7 rating. Very simple place run by a Chinese couple. I was quite doubtful initially based on the way they were taking order. When I tried the food, I was amazed by the taste. The food was so authentic and the flavour was better than any expensive Chinese takeaways. It is a must try place and bet it will become your regular one.

Best salt and pepper chips I've ever eaten. I was originally annoyed about the 'no cards and no delivery' thing but the food more than made up for it. These guys are pros.

China Star is my local & I'm very happy to have this Chinese on my door step, I've tried others & I can assure you I'm fussy, but this chinese is a little gem, fabulous food very delicious, great customer service (these a very happy young lady who I regularly talk to she always greets me with a smile) China Star are doing a fantastic job regarding the current situation regarding covid, yes sometimes you have to wait but this food is well worth the wait, my advice is a phone order if you don't wish to wait, definitely a 10/10 from me for quality food, good potions & reasonable prices. Thanks for your consistency in providing fantastic food guy's.. Big 10/10

Absolutely Fabulous food and very welcoming staff .Best takeaway ever.Highly recommended.

Had dinner for 4 people ready in about 15 minutes for about £30 (plenty for each of us). Speedy, tasty and well priced chinese food, between us we sampled a good range of dishes and every one was delicious with generous portions. Friendly and quick service too. Honestly couldn't be happier to have such a great Chinese so close by. Update: forgot to mention that these guys keep both their own website and their google listing up to date as well.

Loved the food from King Wah. Broken hearted when it closed. Tried several others in area and very unhappy with the standard. My friend and I decided this week to try China Star. We were not disappointed , the food was as delicious as we'd been used to at King Wah. Flavours, quality of ingredients, the cooking, were all faultless, staff were lovely too. We won't be going anywhere else!
