No customer skills. I got spoken rudely on the phone. They lie. Food turns up freezing cold. Also i found a long black hair in my food. I dont advice anyone ordering from china lodge Thornton-Cleveleys.

Absolutely shocking service and food !!! We spent £55 on a take away to be delivered…..it took 90 mins to deliver, the food was dry, tasteless and absolutely shocking !!!! This was a birthday treat for my granddaughter. We will NOT be using these again and my advice would be to others…..don’t bother.

Just got a munchie box came the curry sauce was solid and cold and everything else was over cooked to the point of it almost being burned

What sort of person who is in business puts the phone down on a customer who wants to make a complaint about food that i received when i rang and asked if I could speak to the manager bang that was it phone went down so i phone back seven times and the phone just rang out I persevered and kept ringing he adventually answered and put the phone down again so I left a message telling him I don’t want any trouble I just want a refund that I’ve kept the meals and he wad welcome to see them not that he would be able to see the salt which was the big issue the curry sauce chicken curry and chow mien was like eating pure salt we just could not eat it I’m not a well person having been diagnosed with cancer and can do without all this it’s not the money it’s the principle I urge anyone not to purchase a thing from this down and out place not even a prawn cracker tjr meal was disgusting and so was the person who kept hanging up on me very unprofessional sir you absolutely disgust me and I’m not afraid to put my name to this regards Linda

Food is nothing special, quite tasteless and dry unless you mix it with a sauce , inside the place was quite dirty and not very welcoming, staff were quite friendly though

Where can I start … I’ve used this Chinese for years , never had a problem whatsoever. I ordered nearly £40 of takeaway , food didn’t arrive till 2 hours later , I’m usually quite patient and understand that it gets busy etc . I phoned a few times for an update , guy was really rude, laughing and generally not bothered in the slightest ! When the food finally arrived , the munchie box was that dry , the chips were shrivelled like they’d been reheated a couple of times , no actual potato in the middle ! I’d asked for king prawn with broccoli and extra garlic , no broccoli in sight , just mixed shredded veg , all 3 meals in the tubs were all the same in colour for the sauce , very bland and tasted pretty much the same . I’d spoken to the delivery lady , who apologised and said he’s given you the munchie box free .. no he hasn’t , the price is all still the same ! I’ve messaged a few times , I’ve tried phoning and eventually spoken to the guy , who said he was busy , he’d phone me later and slammed phone down ! Disgusting !! Avoid !!

Just had a delivery. Arrived on time and it was lovely. Very pleased as I usually order from my local in poulton.

China Lodge's service via Uber Eats was frustrating. Despite placing an order, the restaurant consistently push backed the delivery time, ultimately failing to deliver at all. Attempts to contact them by phone were futile, adding to the overall disappointment of the experience.

Ordered at 7:30pm, it’s now 10pm and still no sign of food! Why is this place taking customers money if they cannot send the food out on time? I understand a slight delay but 2 and a half hours + is just unacceptable? Man on the phone was extremely unhelpful and now not answering the phone!

Worst Chinese I have eaten. I would honestly have preferred Aldi's Everyday Essential Sweet and Sour Chicken over what I just ate. The Salt and Pepper chips were under cooked. It took over and hour and a half on a Wednesday evening and when I phoned the place to find out what was happening and the guy on the other end wasn't exactly pleasant. Would not recommend in the slightest.

Doesn't even deserve a one star!!!!! Placed an order at 8.30pm with an estimated delivery at 9.15-9.30pm. We rang up to see where the order was, he said it was on its way, it's now 11.05pm, still no food and after ringing up and speaking to a very rude man was told that the order has been cancelled!!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!

WORST Chinese ever! Waited 2 hours after delivery time, phoned and he was very rude on the phone. Delivery man was asked why he was so late and he just ignored us and walked off. Food had no flavour and was also cold.

Ordered via Uber Eats, estimated delivery time 20:45-21:05. Rang them at 21:20, to be told the schpeel of lacking a delivery driver, very busy, running behind, order will be going out soon etc, still no food at 22:20pm, rang a second time, to be told exactly the same thing, absolutely awful and would not advise anyone ordering from here! If you can't fulfil your part of the bargain and deliver the food on time, or are inundated with orders, don't accept the order on Uber Eats, decline it and let people order elsewhere!

Absolutely awful. The king prawn curry was watery and absolutely no flavour to it at all. The chicken in brocolli was shockingly bad, slimy chicken, flavourless sauce and the brocolli tasted like water. We got spring rolls and salt and pepper chicken that were absolutely flavourless aswell. All round the worst Chinese I’ve ever had which is a shame as it used to be nice food here!

I think that this takeaway simply needs a United Nations intervention. It's horrendous.

Ordered for meal to arrive 1725-1745, arrived at 1650 meaning cold meal for my wife, special curry for me, beef very tough, very bland, have ordered from here numerous times, worst I’ve had, rang to complain but seemingly it’s my fault, not again

This place went down hill alot and we abandoned it however a few months ago gave it another try and it was really good! We have had a it a number of times since and it's always been bang on, everything has loads of meat and isn't drowning with sauce or bulked up with rice and veg, portions are massive! One meal easily feeds 2! Shredded beef is chunky and not the stringy kind that is hard to chew and gets stuck in your teeth for a week!

Ordered food through just eat, the app said food was delivered but it wasn't, tried to phone the restaurant over 50 times and on the few occasions they answered they immediately put the phone down. Total waste of space DO NOT USE!!!!

Order was an hour late so I rang the restaurant to ask for an update, was told ten minutes. Rang back half an hour later, was told to call back in 5 minutes and “I’ll do something about it” when trying to ring back and request an update my calls are being ignored. Shocking service. Will not order again. 2 hours later no food and unable to contact the restaurant.

ordered from this place last minute as another takeaway messed me about. Good price and food turned up earlier than estimated arrival. Food was fresh, hot and tasted really good, can’t lie I wouldn’t have touched this place if I had seen the reviews prior but I was in a rush to get something before everywhere shut and my personal experience was fine

Just received my order and it was vile. We spat the meat back out because it tasted of. The vermicelli was like a big blob of dry rubbish, the rice was dry as anything, the chicken in the chicken balls was tough as anything and if they call that a thai curry they need to get a new chef. Waste of money, will definitely not be going here again

I'm an excile from the Midlands, normally have Indian takeaway but tried Chinese for a change, mistake, I ordered 2 spicy meals, Singapore chow mein+ prawn Thai curry, both rated hot, totally tasteless and watery, wouldn't last 2 minutes serving rubbish food like this in the Midlands, absolutely awful

Ordered salt and chilli ribs, all in one box shredded chilli beef and fried rice, not much taste in the ribs and the shredded chilli beef was burnt and dry, not impressed!

DISGUSTING! Ordered from here and it was vile. I had Chicken and sweetcorn soup and salt and pepper chicken. I ate some of the soup and a few pieces of chicken and my stomach started hurting. My elderly mother had something different and felt the same to! Not stopped being sick or off the toilet in 24 hours! When I rang to let them know about the situation, the man on the phone was very rude and didnt care. I asked for a refund and he said he couldnt do that but gave no reason to why? I told him that I will be reporting them to food hygiene and he said "whatever"! Never order from these rude people and clearly unhygenic place!!

Placed an order for collection, guy on the phone sounded suicidal but we all have our off days. Food wasn't ready when I got there so I waited outside in my car for 10 mins and they brought it out, whilst sat there I made the mistake of reading the reviews online which are awful so I thought I would even things out a bit. What I purchased was all very nice, Crispy Duck Pancakes 7/10, Hot & Sour Soup 9/10, Crispy Shredded Chilli Chicken 10/10 Beansprout Chow Mein 10/10.

Took 2 hours to deliver. Was awful. Worst Chinese we have had. Very vinegary sweet and sour sauce. The bbq was horrid. The chips were hard and the chicken was questionable. They did say they would resend out if it wasn't hot, the temperature of the food was clearly not the issue though.

Genuinely one of the best Chinese takeaways I've ever been to. Girlfriend absolutely loves the chicken and sweetcorn soup, so much so we go just for that sometimes. Everything else we've tried has been fresh, delicious, piping hot, and always delivered around the stated time. We've probably been around 10 times in the past few months, varying times and days, and i still don't have anything negative to say.

At Haven Martin Mere and ordered from here as it was the best of the reviews ONLY for restaurant to decline the order as its OBVIOUSLY TOO MUCH HASTLE FOR THEM. Not good at all.

Absolutely disgusting service i placed an order online for delivery. I got conformation and then they cancelled my order. So phoned them up and asked why. Then they took my order again and said they would ring back and never did. I have used these for about 2 years now and they won't get another order of me . We even said we would collect and still couldn't give a s##t will not recommend again and will go to the Tasty Wok in cleveleys as they were very helpfull and my order was recieved my order was for £100 as had freinds round. Disgusting use another Chinese that actually wants to earn a living and treats customers with respect and not just chat s##t. TASTY WOK all the time from now on

It's not just the worst Chinese I've ever eaten, I'd say it's the worst food. Delivery lady was nice but 25minutes late. Visually, the food was underwhelming and clearly over cooked - the chips were extremely over fried and didn't have any seasoning, let alone any flavour of chili. The rest of the mixed starters were extremely bland and overcooked. The sweet and sour sauce didn't taste like your usual Chinese offering, but rich, sickly almost buttery. I don't think I've ever thrown almost a whole takeaway in the bin before, so this is the first. But will certainly be the last time I order from the China Lodge. Even the prawn crackers were dry! Avoid.

Ordered via Uber with & 10 off. Not sure if this explains the dreadful food I received. Sweet and Sour balls as big as a cricket ball and needed serious chewing. King Prawns and cashew nuts swimming in a thin watery sauce. Special Udon not worth eating so the whole lot went in the bin. The free prawn crackers were the tastiest item I got. Don't suppose I'll ever get a response from the place.

Called to make order. Told can't do card payment over the phone so to order in Just Eat. Was told on the phone would be about 30 mins and then when order processed on Just Eat came up with over an hour. (Called at 18.15 and just eat said would be 19.30). Received a call from them at 19.10 to say would be about 20 mins. 45 mins later I called up and he said order has left the shop now. Waited a further 20 mins (we live 1.6 miles away) and taxi pulled up and order went next door and then when the realised came to my door. Said I had been waiting a while and he said is that why your staring out of your window. When ordering the food had asked if we could not have any spring rolls or chicken balls as we don't eat them and could we have a few extra chips and chicken pieces. Also asked for BBQ sauce instead of the curry sauce which with the munchy box. Order came, sweaty prawn toast which taste like the ones from Iceland. BBQ sauce came in a tiny pot, not even enough for 2 people never mind 4. Rice and noodles were cold, chips overcooked. Didn't seem to be any 'salt and pepper' seasoning in the box. All in all a terrible experience and I'm hoping China Lodge will get in touch as this was poor service, poor quality and left us all very disappointed and still hungry. Plus note prawn crackers were alright I suppose.

Just had a selection of delicious food from China Lodge at Thornton. We rarely have takeaways but this was excellent. The food was delicious, delivered on time and with a smile😊 Great customer service, lovely food- thank you.

I went for a takeaway, they said 10 minutes, got the food home which is less than two minutes away my noodles were hot, however my egg fried rice was nothing more than cold, didn't have any egg in it and literally if I'd thrown it at the wall it would of stuck! I ate some threw rest in the bin. I use to use this Chinese all the time when I was younger thought I'd give it another go after ownership has been past on. Disappointing and horribl, when I pick my food up from the takeaway the wallpaper is only just hanging on and the place itself was dirty!

Shocking service and rude staff, never had the opportunity to taste the food, and we will never try again! They lied about delivery time then cancelled our order ... stating ‘you know what you did’ in a rather creepy voice!

Disgraceful 20-minutes over proper time no customer service skills

Never again.first delivery last night and most of it still in box.chilli chips overdone like they don't change their oil,couldn't bite through them.no beansprouts in noodles like everywhere else,no ribs like everywhere else,the curry sauce was in small kids tub and u couldn't pour it,was like one lump of sauce or two!! Glad I went here for one reason.was only spending 20 instead of usual 50 so we learn by our mistakes.last Chinese I ever buy,put right off

If 0 stars for the food was an option then that wouldn't be low enough. Every thing was bland. Salt and pepper chips hasn't seen any pepper no kick to it at all, the shredded chrispy chilly beef tasted more like it was in sweet and sour yet again no spice, smoked shredded salt and pepper chicken no pepper again plain and boring nearly broke my teeth as well, chicken balls were gloopy, chicken vermicelli tastes of bean sprouts, mini spring rolls were terrible hardly anything in them.Never been so disappointed in a Chinese in my life. I've had a upset stomach from a Chinese that taste better than this would rather be ill and enjoy it than order from here again. Absolutely boring £30 for something my dogs wouldn't even eat. Who ever has given this place 5 stars has never had a good Chinese in their life let alone a great 1. My 3 year old could cook with better flavour. If you want a GOOD Chinese dont order from here!!! Never order from this takeaway in your life ...first time TRYING to place a order ...order was confirmed at 19.30 told me would be deliver 20.45 ....didnt turn up ring get told hour has been added ....still didnt turn up So I ring again they tell me 5 mins ...after 20 mins i googled they was just 9 mins away from my house ring back tell them this ..it is now 22.45 and still no takeaway so obviously I've cancelled 3 hours 15 mins later ...cheeky twits didnt even apologise after I cancelled my order !!!!!! Took 2 hours and 20 mins to get the food. 2 phone calls - I know they're probably busy due to covid lock down but lied to on both phone calls. Food ok when it did arrive - would I order again? No. £27 including delivery - would've expected better service if I'm honest. We only live round the corner which was even more frustrating

The worst thing I've eaten in a long time and I've eating some bad thing in my past. prawn toast over cooked and chewy, hot and sour soup was not hot or sour but had the viscosity of bitumen. Shredded Chilli chicken came in a sweet and sour sauce. Giant spring roll was greasy and smelt like the veg had been cooked a couple of weeks ago. With out a shadow of a doubt I would recommend eating out of a wheelie bin before even considering opening their menu. Do us all a favour and stop cooking and close the doors for good.

To be honest I wouldn't even give it any stars but had to to post this review . Absolutely discusting 🤢🤮 ordered a munchy box it came burnt and the chicken was hard, loads of salt onions chillies nobody ate it I threw it away. Will never order from this takeaway ever again discusting.

I order regularly from here as my friends and family always enjoy the food. The portions are very generous and the food is always good, piping hot and delivered quickly. My requests for no onions or no cashew nuts are always respected and I can honestly say that I have never had a bad meal from here. I have found the staff and delivery drivers, to be very friendly and helpful. Overall a great little takeaway.

OK place not a place I would go though

I had Beef a curry and Fried Rice, the Curry was extremely nice, a bit of heat in It, the beef was excellent, very tender, couldn't fault It, the fried rice very everage. My wife had Chicken and Bamboo Shoots Mushrooms and Fried Rice. The Chicken was good, bamboo shoots a bit few and far between, the mushrooms.......very few but plenty of rice to fill the box. All in all, not bad, mine was very acceptable but I'm sure overall they could do better. Being as it's under new management I'm sure they are trying very hard and being in a way very successful as the food is basically very good indeed, just tidy up the loose edges as I'm sure China Lodge will be an excellent Chinese takeaway, it's damn good now so not far to go.

I live on the same street as China Lodge and it has done nothing but massively deteriorate in all aspects; health and hygiene, taste, service, appearance, standards and price. The place is disgusting hence the 1 star hygiene rating. They even wallpapered over the tiles to hide the shoddy conditions, Whilst they increase prices, it continues to deteriorate blaming the increased pricing of packaging. Nothing but a health risk and an overpriced one at that. This place is a health hazard. Avoid. New owners have wrecked what was a good place once upon a time.

Had this last night and wasn’t really that happy, sauce already came on the rice didn’t like that and it tasted tasteless. Loved the spring rolls but the sauce and rice was a bit tasteless.

The fried rice was more like boiled rice with scrambled egg added the chicken balls were cremated gravy was thick enough to use as cement and the chips were cold WILL NOT BE GOING BACK EVER AVOID IF YOU CAN!!!!

Where do I start lol ordered food at ten past 7 after an hour i phoned, was offered 5 pound off next ordered called again 15 minutes Later, then offered ten pound of my next order was told driver is literally outside, so waited called back and cancelled my order, I don't like being lied to when I have kids hungry, anyway turned up and gave it me for free, well hot and sour soup tasted like chemicals, didn't order but had chicken and sweetcorn soup it was full of egg shells, prawn crackers were burnt yellow spots my daughter pulled apart a prawn confused about how it looked and food tasted, prawn still had the tails and poo inside, chicken and noodle soup I stopped her eating looked like rubber and black bits throughout the chicken not sure what's going on but it needs fixing

Fried rice was not fried it was boiled with some colouring Spanish ommlette was half decent chips are frozen variety my crispy chilli beef was lacking beef just lots of crispy nothing and the sauce it came in was very sour vinegary like I'd avoid this place

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE, ABSOLOLUTE GARBAGE. Order promised within 45 minutes, after an hour wait called takeaway to be told by the phone operator order not received until half hour after just eat had said it had been . Then told 45 minutes after the call that the order had just left, ??? So they had the order over an hour but not cooked !!! Told them to cancel, the abrupt phone operator then told us ( you could tell she wasnt at all bothered by our complaint ) that it wasn't their fault ! She said she would cancel the delivery, after ordering from another establishment , our driver arrives from China lodge via Birmingham only one can imagine , with a rather puzzled look on his face when I say the order has been cancelled !!!! So sent said driver back to China (only obvious reason for such a delay considering they have 3 drivers said phone operator said)

Pedimos el menú de 1 (rollitos de primavera, pollo al curry con arroz frito de huevo) y sal y patatas fritas con chili.La orden puede de esta mujer grosero en mi puerta que nunca sonreían o dice gracias!. Abrió la comida, el huevo frito arroz era arroz hervido que estaba seco y sin sabor. El pollo al curry tiene cero gusto y era como agua, pero brown!. El £4 chips!!, sí me decir £4 patatas fritas congeladas con algunos era de chili y estaba fría y pasada!.No hace falta decir que no comas. Así que llamé a la comida para llevar y me dijo "nada que hacer", así que me fui loca!. Entonces, él dijo que él y nunca me enfermo reembolso una vez. Él no me ofreció nada más (no me). Entonces, él me llamó y dijo: "Después de 20 si quieres su dinero tendrá que conseguir como comcome estamos ocupados!)... errrm pal!. no Así que él dijo que será dejarlo en una "pocas horas".Fue a las 7 pm cuando pedí mi comida y en 12 intenté llamar y no hubo ninguna respuesta!!. No estoy nada contento!!. Cuando abren hoy, volveré loca!.Nunca comer desde aquí!. La comida horrible!!. Actitud repugnante.

We visited this Chinese take away after returning early evening after a holiday. As it was a Monday our usual Chinese was closed. We had used China Lodge for years when it was more affectionately known as 'Stans', but after it had changed hands went off it as it was no longer 'good'. I understand it has recently come under 'new management' so decided to give it a whirl as opposed to choosing another type of takeaway.

Never seems to fail, tried the sweet& sour

I've been going to this chinese takeaway since I was at primary school and I still love it. My only negative would be that since new management took over the prices have increased a fair bit. There are plenty of other chinese takeaways in the area that are more reasonably priced. Having said that, I have never had a complaint about the food or the service.
