Me and my friend attending after searching high and low for a place that does hot pots wanting to try them. We came across China Hot and gave it a go due to the reviews and we was not disappointed. Such good value for money, we got hot pot and bbq and it was amazing. The lovely woman who helped us decide what to get was so helpful, service was great. I took my son with us as we did go earlier on and he was able to run around and play which made it a lot more enjoyable for us. (he is toddler so doesn’t sit still!) Will definitely be returning and couldn’t recommend enough!

A fabulous place to go if your looking for authentic Chinese hot pot and grill. Good menu range of dishes to choose from. Far different to the usual Chinese take away menu. Really tasty food and good portion sizes. You get plenty for your money. We will definitely be returning and making this one of the top places to eat out. We went during the week so it was quiet but welcoming just the same. Maybe some low playing tranquil or asia music in the background would make the atmosphere even better if possible.

We were looking for a place with hotpot and we didn’t know this hidden gem until today. It’s also a plus that they also have barbecue in the restaurant. We always had to go to Leeds for korean bbq but now we don’t have to go far. It’s not exactly korean bbq but we did enjoy grilling meat on our table. Meat served are all tasty. Hot pot soup will be served according to your chosen flavour in your own little pot but the pot stickers are in a buffet style. We paid £26.80 for all you can eat Hotpot plus bbq and the servings are really good and absolutely worth it. The taste is also good especially our favourite and recommend Tom yum soup for the hotpot. Our group really enjoyed the food and the friendly service. We will definitely come back.

Lovely place, friendly and patient service. Interesting food would recommend the hotpot everything is just the right level of spicy and we were told you can always ask for the level you're comfortable with.

Went for hot pot about a year ago and forgot to review. My wife and I lived in China for 4 years and can confirm that this was an authentic and great place to eat. We are vegan and there was plenty for us to choose from for our hot pot. The woman that was working there was kind and attentive also. Anyone that is not familiar with hot pot, it's a bit like a fondu and I would recommend having the sesame paste as a dip. You can eat other things at China hot but I think hot pot is a great, sociable experience that is not to be rushed. We will be returning soon as it has been too long since our last visit.

I was without a doubt the first customer they ever had. I walked in the day before they officially opened and after a private party meal and they served me! Been lots of times since and always enjoyed it! English style Chinese food is available but I much prefer the cook your own hot pot on the table top, especially with the spicy broth as a base. Nice to know they're open again post Covid lockdowns.

I recommend China Hot not because it's the only place in Hull where you can experience table Korean BBQ, but because the food is simply worth it. The atmosphere is quiet and cozy. You have several options for the soup base of your hotpot (I recommend Tom Yum), and there are many different meats to choose from for the grill, the sliced beef being my absolute favorite. In the back of the restaurant is a selection of fish balls, noodles, tofu, and other ingredients you can freely put into your hotpot. The waitress will also frequently ask if you'd like more meat for the grill, and she will offer you different meats specifically for the hotpot. If you're not confident about handling the meat yourself, the staff will be happy to do it for you. There's a separate menu for mains, but I've never ordered anything from it before. All in all, ordering is simple. This is a small, family-run business. The friendly and lovely staff will often have their hands full. Unlike the other reviewer, I don't believe this is sufficient grounds for leaving a wholly negative review for an otherwise great BBQ experience. Book a table, ask for what you want, and be generous with your time. This is not a 5-star restaurant, but a place to feel comfortable and at home with your peers while enjoying some delicious meat together.

We arrived at this little restaurant full of hope after watching some YouTube videos of people experiencing hotpot and barbecue. When we arrived we were seated and the owners child was running around crying and screaming after falling over (which cannot be helped as he was hurt) but the restaurant floor is a business not a nursery. We didn't understand the menu or how it worked as we'd never been before but the delivery driver tried his best to explain it but he didn't appear to know how it worked himself. We had our plates and chopsticks placed in-front of us by the delivery driver holding a child in one hand and trying his best to move them around the table (Surely next time you shouldn't hold a child as you're serving a couple??!?!?) We also ordered some lemonade which didn't arrive until we asked again once the co-owner arrived and we had to ask again. She seemed really nice but unfortunately we'd already ordered and our food had come. The meat for the BBQ arrived and the beef tasted great it was really thin and tasty. The rest didn't taste too good to us but that might be our taste. The chicken appeared to have a strange aftertaste. The hotpot was nice although the selection of food to dip inside seemed to be lacking (we were the only people in the restaurant so that might have had something to do with the limited choice). From the videos I've seen with hotpot you get thin pieces of meat which you can pick from. This place doesn't appear to have any meat which you can boil yourself which kind of ruined the hotpot experience for us. This place also doesn't accept card so make sure you've got cash ready. I was very disappointed by this because the concept is brilliant. It seemed a really fun experience for me and my partner but unfortunately it was ruined by the poor service we received. The driver needs training on customer service if he's to be expected to do it. Stephen

We ended up here on a bit of a whim. Fed up with eating at the same places, we decided to look for somewhere new to try. And I'm so glad we di-the food was awesome! The menu is massive, which made our Sunday lunch decision a bit more difficult than usual! In the end we opted for the hot pot and barbeque. You choose your own base for your hot pot-I opted for the Tonic which basically turned out to be a herbal broth, flavoured with ginseng and berries. My friend hat the coconut base, making her soup a little more Thai inspired. We then got to choose from a wide selection of tasty morsels laid out for us on a buffet table. Fishcakes, mussels, tofu, spring onions-there was all sorts to suit every taste. We then waited as our soup bubbled away next to us on the table. For the BBQ element, you can choose between, squid, prawns, belly pork, beef, chicken, fish, kidney, liver and gizzards or a mixture of all of the options. We went for prawns, squid, fish, pork and chicken-neither of us like kidneys or liver and gizzards seemed a bit more extreme than we could handle on a Sunday! We then cooked the morsels on the BBQ grill in front of us. My friend and I weren't bothered by the fact that all of the meats and fish came out raw, piled high on one plate but some people might be put off by this. They shouldn't be though! The food was amazing. The experience was also fantastic, making the whole lunch an interactive, enjoyable time. I can't wait to go back! This time I'd like to take more people as I think it would be a great laugh to have a go at trying each others hotpot concoctions.

Possibly the worst chip shop in hull, chips I got were WAY overcooked and just very oily, if anything how quickly they were handed to me from the time I ordered should’ve been a marker of that, I’d rather wait for good quality chips than receive whatever that was.
