Had a great evening. So much tasty food and super friendly staff. Came for my son’s birthday and they kindly allowed us to bring our own cake and brought it out. Fantastic set price per person (£28) and you can choose whatever you want and however much you want from the menu.

I really like this lunch set (on a leisure day). The appetizers and main dishes such as fried noodles and rice are all excellent. There is no MSG at all👍The two appetizers and the main are all made from 10-pound pineapple. Worth supporting!

Over the past 2 years I’ve been here 5/6 times and it was me and my partners favorite restaurant. We visited again in February and the quality of the food has gone down hill massively! We were very unimpressed. I don’t know if they’ve changed chef or owners but I definitely do not recommend it anymore & they’ve put their prices up. All the food tasted vinegary and the same. So disappointing

I don’t get how lot rated this restaurant is on here! I eat at China Garden once every two weeks, and never have had a bad experience with the food. It seems as though the restaurant is family owned, and staff are always very friendly and polite. I really enjoy the food, big portions and tasty food. China garden also has a BIG variety of dishes so it’s hard to get bored or stuck with what to eat. Overall a restaurant I’m glad to say is nearby to me, I recommend it!

I've been here before and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about my visit last night. The food was mediocre at best and the squid was inedible. The wait between courses was ridiculously long in a not very busy restaurant. Unfortunately china garden didn't live up to its usual standards and I hope this was just a bad night on their part and things can improve.

OMG! Secretly one of the best restaurants around! Haven't actually eaten in but the takeaway is amazing! Singapore fried rice, grilled dumpling & brocoli with ginger is the order of champions! 😍 Order here at least once a week and it's always amazing.......get involved people!

Went for a dinner for my dad's 66th. Service was horrible. The girl working (her own family restaurant) didn't tell us that kitchen was closing. As we wanted to order mains (10pm) she just said "sorry you can't anymore, kitchens closed ". Did not even warn us or tell us beforehand so we could order. She also said the kitchen was not happy with us (guessing this was the reason for her not warning us ) and I'm guessing this was due to saying my dad cannot have much salt on his food so asking them to reduce it before cooking the food (we did not send anything back to the kitchen we told them before ordering any dish). Her attitude stank and only when I got mad about how she spoke to my dad on his bday and her not warning us about kitchen closing , then she changed her mind and said " no it's OK you can eat dinner then go " bear in mind there was an hour left till the restaurant closed. We did not want to even finish the food we had at that point out of fear of what the kitchen would do to any further ordered food and due to her hostility. We've eaten there so many times in the past bringing so much family there. Will not be going back. The girls attitude stinks and she was very rude to my dad on his birthday. Shameful.

This restaurant has been in Morden I believe since I moved here in 1997. That says alot. I visited the restaurant for the first time on the 2nd Dec 2023 and again the following Sat 9th Dec. Yes I will definitely be returning. The food and service are excellent. My only criticisms are perhaps some authentic background music and maybe a little TLC is required in the toilet areas and general decor. You have the staff and an excellent chef. The food choices and prices are great. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be returning.

Great dishes, very nice starters : crispy butterfly prawn, extremely tasty Chef Capital spare ribs😋😋, fried rice and crispy noodles are stunning except the sauce for the stir fried beef with black beans is a bit salty. We will come again to try other dishes. Chef and the waitress are nice and friendly, the place is neat and snug👍👍 & very reasonable price

Ordered for my father's birthday at home... duck and pancakes only decent thing the rest was over fried, over cooked and or just onions... don't waste your money we paid close to 100 for a very below par order with a delivery of non ordered items such as disgusting over fried chips to soggy vegie spring rolls

Can't really comment on Atmosphere as we had a takeaway, it was my mother in laws birthday and we had quite a few family members over and we all decided to have a Chinese takeaway, the person who took my order was very proficient and took his time to take my order which he repeated back to me so there was no mistakes. The order turned up well within the specified time and was still hot, we will certainly use the China garden at Morden again

This place is disgusting. Everything was filthy. The walls, floors and chairs all need a good scrub... especially the booth seats and the table cloths were stained. The service was appalling and we had to repeatedly ask for things we had ordered. The food was awful barring 1 or 2 dishes. The predominant taste on EVERY dish was salt! The lemon chicken was mushy and the sauce tasted fermented it was so sour. When mentioning our dislike of dishes to the waiter he just laughed. Very unimpressed with the whole experience and we not be returning again.

I always went there for my take aways when I lived locally. The food is always of good quality. The staff are really nice. Their buffet is really good too.

Tastes are horrible. I ate Chinese restaurant weekly basis and I never ate anything that bad before. Even roast duck is so hard and other dishes are too salty. Service is good though. I am wondering that did owner taste his own dishes or not?

We are regulars here since nearly 9 years and it never fails to impress. Amazing chinese food, super friendly staff and the ambience is nice and quiet. Their dinner buffet is fab.

Had to give this a 2 star rating today as I had to wait 20-25 minutes for 2 dishes. A lady came in who had rang in her order for collection half hour before and she waited, at least, an additional 10 minutes. Don't know what was going on, maybe they had a lot of orders for eat in. Very unusual. To top it off the shredded beef was really dry 😔

Ordered from this restaurant for the first time last night. We had chicken and black bean sauce and the duck with special fried rice. There was very little chicken in the chicken and black bean and the duck was extremely dry. The rice also tasted off. The food was clearly a couple of days old if not more (!!) and obviously reheated. Would not recommend.

Nice place for nice food. Two requests to the restaurant,. please add some music and get modern utensils like the one used in nandos

This was my first time to eat in this restaurant. Every dish was surprisingly delicious and tasty and I can tell they didn’t eat much or no MSG which I am sensitive to. The flat noodle in Malaysian style was really cooked by the Malay chef. Amazing lunch menu - £7.5 for a main course and two starters. The lady was very attentive, friendly and polite. Thanks.

Terrible have been using this restaurant on and off for 40 years, but not sure what has happened but placed a take a way delivery order on Wednesday which came to just over £45.00 the food was terrible, every dish was soaked in oil and some dishes look like they had been reheated not fresh at all, 5 out of the 7 dishes were hardly touched and thrown away, like I say we have used this restaurant over 40 years when Mr Chan was owner/manager,never again will we order a take a way from China Garden.

Visited Friday 29th. No drinks menu offered. Ordered bottle of house white, when the bill arrived the wine was £18.50. Needless to say we will not be returning.

I just got the set menu for one from here literally minutes ago - I have now placed the "chicken" dish directly in the bin. It could only be described as some left over boiled shredded chicken with some beansprouts in a gloop. I didn't expect gourmet Chinese but this was not edible. Very disappointed and obviously hungry.

Had been wanting to try this place for some time. Finally got to go on Saturday evening what a disappointment it was. Arrived we were pointed to our table then 4 menus thrown in the middle of table no explanation about the 2 different menus. 15 minutes later drinks was offered. We ordered our meal after working out the menus only to be disappointed again our glasses were empty was not asked again if we wanted a refill. Sweet and sour chicken hard and no sauce. Staff were unfriendly and rude so we left and went to waffle jacks for dessert more friendly atmosphere and staff. So china garden you need to look at your staff customer training for a start.

Very disappointing. The sweet and sour chicken was tough and over cooked. The veg spring rolls had minimal veg and the veg rice smelled rotten and tasted terrible. I mistakenly chose this over the neighbouring Chinese take away kowok, I strongly recommend you try Kowok.

Best all you can eat buffet in the area

The China Garden in Morden, Surrey - Can't keep it a secret any longer! My husband and I have been going to this amazing restaurant for over 40 years. Having eaten Chinese food for over 45 years in numerous restaurants, the China Garden in Morden is the BEST! The chef produces the most delicious food. Sunday lunch is a freshly cooked buffet, and the buffet menu is extensive, and opens from 12.00 - 3pm, Eat as much as you like, exceptional value at £13.95 per head. We highly recommend the smoked chicken, the large green lipped mussels in black bean sauce, and the barbecue ribs ( the meat is so tender, that the meat falls off the bones). The family are warm and friendly, and the service is excellent. We therefore have no hesitation in highly recommending this superb restaurant. Our biggest wish would be that this restaurant was in East Grinstead, where we live. Yes, we actually travel an hour to go to Morden for this exceptional restaurant. I don't think you could get a higher recommendation than that! The chef is incredibly gifted, in the delicious food that he presents.

The food here was really very tasty. I was expecting it to be a little more pricey than it was so really happy to be proven wrong. You have a choice of all the table having buffet for a set price or ordering off menu. The whole table has to have the same. Great choice of vegetarian and fish dishes.

Possibly the best Chinese in Surrey hands down. All you can eat is your best option to try everyting they got to offer. My mrs drags me here on Mondays because its ladies night.

Ordered a few dishes. None came right and the Curry didn't even come with rice. Why? I didn't order it. Apparently they didn't know Curry comes with rice. It doesn't mention in the curry section either way so be warned. Anyway, I wouldn't bother with this place again as there are plenty of better places that aren't so expensive for plain food. Not good with overall disappointment. Manager also refused to come to the phone!

Ordered King prawn with udon noodles for £7, it came with 4 King prawns. Just 4. My dinner was over in 2 1/2 minutes. Never again

Well if this is the best in morden I'm moving, ordered crispy noodles, even I know the difference between crispy and burnt and trust me, definitely burnt!!! My better half ordered banana fritters, a free hair was contained in that tray!! They sent a replacement for the noodles and I sent it back I'm absolutely disgusted and would rather get a kebab, which I can't stand either but now believe to be the lesser of two evils, the sweet and sour sauce is watery and so is the lemon sauce for the chicken. Bye bye China Garden you've managed to ruin the reputation for lovely quality enjoyable food in one swoop

Did 1 star cause I can't put a it negative stars. Stopped there on my way back to get a main dish with rice and choose the chicken curry and rice. I never been so desapointed by any take away food ever. Not only it was flavour less but the portion of chicken curry was ridiculously small with 3 very small dry pieces of chicken in a drizzle of taste less sauce. Basically it was rice for £5 something. When we called to complain no apology what so ever and rude attidute from a careless staff. Definitely a place to avoid.

Horrible experience, my partner and I went for dinner at China Garden on Sunday evening,besides us, there was just one family having dinner, otherwise the restaurant was completely empty. We ordereder a Dim sum platter to start with, very disappointed,the friend dum sun and fish cakes were so oily, the steam pork dumpling were had wrong pork in it, we pointed that out to the waitress,she wasn't helpful at all,we also ordered deep fried squid with chilli and darling,they were soggy. We decide to ask for the bill but left completely dissatisfied with food and service. Never again

Food took very long on a Friday night with the restaurant reasonably empty, we ordered the dim sum platter rice and pork. The food was OK.

To be honest I have just had this takeaway with my family and I'm not going to lie but most of the food was cold the egg fried rice was dry stale sticky And hard the chicken was cold ,the packets of pancakes were uneven and their food and serving was NOT quality and most importantly it was NOT cheap , we've been using this restaurant for 45 years now and it looks like that the decor is original, probably one of the worst takeaways I've ever had in my life - sorry Yo

Nice food and pleasant staff. Eat as much as you want off the menu for £19. Portions not huge but you can always order more! Sesame prawn toast is fantastic but found spring rolls too greasy for my liking. Soft drinks a little pricey, I know they make money on drinks but hard to justify £3.50 for a pint of diet coke when a 2ltr bottle costs £1.00! Can't complain about the food though, it's freshly cooked to order and tastes great. All in all a nice place to have a meal. PS if you go on your birthday with a party of 6 or more the birthday person gets a free meal so long as they can prove their birth date.

I bought a takeaway meal for the evening. The sauce for the crispy duck pancakes was fairly solid with crystals in it. I took it back and they said that this was just because the kitchen was warm and that a replacement sauce would be the same. They said that all I had to do was to add warm water to it. On seeing the expression on my face the lady serving me then asked if I would prefer her to provide fresh sauce, which to she would add water and mix properly for me. I said that I would like this. A few minutes later she returned with some sauce that was fine. However, I was disappointed that we had been served such poor quality sauce in the first place, let alone that it had been expected that we ourselves would know to add warm water to it without coming back to them. I haven't marked them down too much because the rest of the food was fine and we have had nice takeaways in the past, but this was a very disappointing incident. I wonder whether there are new people running the restaurant because I think that the staff are different now and that this would not have happened with the people who were there a few years ago.

I have been coming here for years and never had a bad meal lovely staff and always big portions and great prices.

Staff were very welcoming and approachable making us feel very happy to be there. Offering a good selection of food with options to choose from the general menu or all you can eat menu. Food was delicious and great portion sizes. When unsure on what to eat the staff were happy to make suggestions which were great and ones that I went with again on my subsequent visits.

Had it twice. Very nice Chinese food, not much quantity but acceptable.
