China Garden in Stoke-on-Trent

Was disappointed this time , the meat was fine , had gammon and turkey. However the yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes tasted stale and re heated. The parsnips tasted off , I mentioned this to the waitress who brought a replacement bowl of veg which was slightly better but not great. Don't think we will return . Shame as we have enjoyed it in the past but won't risk wasting money again.

Good experience, nice views on the water. Food was ok, carvery I had. Nice staff and atmosphere. Will come again on a Sunday

Very nice food, excellent service

Went here on Sunday 5th may 2024 and payed £37.68 for 2 standard carverys & 2 drinks, I just thought it was very expensive & to be honest it wasn't very nice infact we gave our food to a couple of dogs outside as we sat by the canal , won't be returning for food

Does not deserve 1 star , 2nd visit in a week , 1st visit no space which is fair enough as didn't book , however the man at the host station didn't even check if there would be availability later so we could have had a drink , just couldn't be bothered , second visit, breakfast , shocking , told to sit anywhere rhen moved us , 'cus you can't sit there , ordered vege sausage never came had to ask then the woman who moved us and took order for said sausage couldn't find us so we had to go find her , constantly empty food so had to wait ages for bacon , eggs, bubble and sqeak , no salt , well there was however it was disgusting and wet and clumpy , avoid at all costs

Excellent breakfast that was really good value. The staff were really helpful and obliging, Our server was Lyndsey, and she was very pleasant and helpful. I'm not sure of the shift manager's name but she was lovely and made our experience a very pleasant one. We will definitely return! Thank you.

Did not get much meat very little the food was not hot hot as normal

We started coming here when Gold Lion was taken over and went down bank. First couple of times food was really nice, fresh, hot and delivered in good time. But the last meal we had was awful. None of it was warm, none of it was fresh. It was all reheated food that had definitely not been cooked recently if indeed that same day! Only had 2 meals & chips and it was almost £30. It took over an hour to come and definitely wasn't worth the wait.

Basically poor quality carvery food in all respects it was cold so had to ask it to be heated in their microwave had no apology whatsoever from the manager who nearly knocked me over on one occasion again no apology and had no welcoming demeanour whatsoever the interior seriously in need of make over very tatty and the waitress (who was very nice and polite) had an apron on that was absolutely filthy and clearly had not been washed for a long time so not what we expect and definitely not recommended I’m afraid

We order from China Garden regular, The food is amazing and always arrives piping hot, lovely delivery drivers, the young lady is always very pleasant. 5 stars is well deserved. I Highly recommend!!

This is Honestly the worst meal I have ever had in my life, special fried rice the meat was covered in jelly like it had come out of a can! Old lukewarm and tasteless meat the whole meal ended up being covered in this clear jelly as I investigated the contents of the bowl with my fork. When I rang I spoke to a pleasant lady who said that they would send me a replacement and too my absolute horror it was exactly the same! I could not believe they had the audacity to send the same again, when I called back and questioned about the quality of meat I was told that the Chef had forgot to wash the the meat?! So I had two inedible meals on my hands… I took all the meat out and put it in the bowl for the neighbours cats who took one sniff of it and walked off!! Why on earth are they not using fresh meat??

Ordered food online, order arrived incorrect, was told 1 of the main components of the meal was no longer added to the food in their recipe? Food was bland, tasteless and pretty disgusting. Comes to something when they tell you to just bin the food instead of replacing/sorting the issue out, disgusting service and the attitude from Trudy (if that's even her real name) totally unprofessional, rude and arrogant. Definitely needs a total refresher course in customer service!

Wow!! Ordered chicken chow mein, chips, gravy and chicken satay skewers , i order the same from every chinese i use but this was perfection, words cant explain how impressed i am!! Gravy is unreal!! Will be back soon, thank you :)

Used to use this takeaway all the time don't get me wrong my order arrived very fast tonight and the won tons were cooked to perfection but the chow mein is way to salty next time don't add so much salt to the chow mein please ruins the overall taste

After going on uber eats we decided to go here everything was hot and fresh (even a little to hot) but after letting my chicken and black bean cool down it was delicious with a generous amount of chicken the sweet and sour chicken balls are perfectly cooked crisp on the outside dips into a lovely sour sauce after reading a few of the other reviews I find them hard to believe If you've not had from here before I would definitely give it a try the prawn crackers are amazing I'd post some photos but it's all gone

First time using this restaurant, not recommend Ordered takeaway, arrived on time ,food was hot ,however the whole meal was tasteless, the sesame prawn toast was like greasy fried bread, I think the chips were yesterday’s chips but refried , will not use nor recommend, I gave it a one star because no stars was not an option . Thanks for the reply, being a busy restaurant is no excuse for tasteless food

Really let down. Very loyal customer and for my food to come after I paid extra for chow mein and one tray I actually got less. Ive been ripped off. Unfortunately I will be going else where.

Best chinese takeaway we've ever had

Ordered for second time after a nice meal first time, unfortunately the food took over an hour and half to come and was very cold, had to throw curry sauce away after it turned to jelly not happy after the first time

Absolutely disgusting. Only giving 1 star cos you can’t choose zero. Beef smelt off and was grey in colour. Curry sauce was like jelly. Many other issues too. Wouldn’t feed it to next doors dog.

Trampy food that is under cooked hence the quick delivery time. Belittling complaints saying I dunno about the food, well I have had it cooked properly from there before and only used them again after the last appalling attempt as our Chinese wasn't open .Edit this a was ages ago, just corrected a typo.

Avoid at all cost especially if you’re disabled!!!! I’ve just made a order and got a email to call them. I was told that their ordering site had under charged me by £1.50 and if I wanted the food I needed to pay the driver before I could have the food! I told him I’d got no cash and I’m disabled and I was told it’s hard luck no extra money no foot. So I asked for my money back and I was told it would take up to a week for the money to go back in my back! So I’ve got no food and no money to order from somewhere else. I think it’s disgusting how they can treat a disabled person like this!!!!

Poor experience recently after first meal was pretty good. Dry spare ribs, dry chicken, bland food. Awful in comparison. It was like they could not be bothered. Shame really. Updated on 20.11.2020 - they offered us a free meal as a replacement for the original and also 20% off a further order. That was a nice and kind gesture. However, on ordering the free meal, what we got was the same as before. Same dryness. Same blandness. Saltier and greasier. We thought it would be better, but no. It seems the original meals we had were a one off. So in this case we wont bother ordering again. However, if you like this kind of food then it's right up your street. McDonalds is better in my opinion - and that's saying something ...

I'll start by saying the food is fantastic from China Garden, however my latest experience hasn't been too great. It took nearly two hours for my food to arrive, I phoned after an hour to check where it was. The lady did sound really apologetic but it would have helped of the website actually showed an anticipated delivery time (I think it's supposed to but it just showed as 0 mins delivery time) Most other takeaways would offer something in compensation (even just a bottle of coke or a small starter)

Don't pay with your card! These people take your money & don't deliver the food...... their explanation is.... its the third party who takes the payments & they can't do anything until they talk to them could take 5 days! What a joke! Theft pure & simple

Absolutely horrible service myself and my aunt was spoken to Viciously for a fault on there end. We where pointed at and told to pay for something we didn’t order. The website was different from the menu in the take away and when we told the owner and he demanded us to pay for it and blamed my aunt for his mess around on his website? Disgusting service would not recommend!

Ordered food and it was delivered 10 mins later, food was piping hot and tasted lovely will be our new regular takeaway.

Absolutely terrible food. All the starter was over cooked and hard the meat was dry and chewy. The mains were terrible nothing like they were meant to taste like. Will never use again.

Prices are shocking for what you get. Wouldn't feed an African who's starving.

After saying that I don't like Chinese for 20yrs I was persuaded to try Chinese again and thank god I did thanks to China garden dresden. We had mini spring roll vegetable chow main chips curry sauce and mushroom fried rice it was amazing will definitely order again ***

Excellent choice on menu n can really recommend it too any one who likes Chinese food, best in Stoke on Trent by far

Booked carvery for 3 people for 5.30pm Sunday 16/12/2018. Arrived 10 minutes early and given a buzzer because table wasn't ready. Waited until 5.45pm and could see that 70% of tables were empty and the queue for carvery food was backed up to the entrance, filthy tables full of dirty dishes, couldn't even get through to the toilets, very disappointed, obvious problem in the kitchen and not enough staff on. Gave buzzer back and told them we were going somewhere else. Oh, and the buzzer was labeled ' book ahead so you don't have to wait', oh the irony of it!

Never had any problems. Always hot. Been going for yrs there for our food. Well done and always very polite.

Food was bland order beef black bean sauce and salt and chilli chicken both not nice but hungry so ate them got order wrong when i clearly stated what i required. Delivery was ok

Chicken in my wife’s tofu dish. She has been a vegan for fifteen years and was a vegetarian before that. I will never eat from there again.

Ordered here before. Member of Staff on the phone was lovely, very friendly and polite, food last time was beautiful and will be the same tonight! Chicken fried rice & chicken balls were to die for. Will be ordering from here from now on!😃👌
