Best food, service and people!!

We moved to the island 2 yrs ago and have failed to find a nice Chinese take away..... this all changed this evening. Yummy yummy yummy thank you.

Lovely lady on the counter but the food was awful. Usually Chinese food is pretty much the same wherever you get it from, not here. King prawns in black bean sauce and the prawns were tiny. Asked for mixed curry extra hot, thinking chillies would be put in it, but no, think additional curry powder was put in instead. Really disappointed and won’t be using again.

The food was delicious, and hot,and took less than half an hour to be delivered .The lady that took my order was lovely too . Can't wait to use them again .

I found the boy behind the counter Very rude When we got our food home it was nothing what we had ordered We wanted the food that was shown on there website It all was wrong So when I called to explain he just kept arguing

Our go to Chinese take away! Ok ,a little more expensive than others but you pay for what you get.The ability to leave out some ingredients is a God send as my wife has an allergy to peppers. Had a family gathering yesterday (24/2/23) with 8 adults and 2 grandchildren and the China Garden didn’t let us down.Prompt delivery and I couldn’t fault the food.

Always a great takeaway and arrives fast and hot

Ordered a delivery, as Bizzy Wok was closed, and an order similar to what we'd normally place was almost twice the price (£55 instead of £30)... for less food. It took an hour and a half (plus a phone call) to be delivered, and then one of the dishes was missing (another 15 minutes for the replacement to arrive). Absolute rip off and the quality wasn't as good (plus no hot & sour soup on the menu). Won't be ordering from here again and I'd recommend to others that they avoid it as well.

We ordered many different items, over £80 !,, family treat. All I can say is the food was awful. Curry with no taste at all Chicken balls with soggy batter Noodles that no one touched. Everything was tasteless and very poor quality. Only bonus…. The kids enjoyed loads of chips

Ordered small take away for one for collection. Was informed it would be between 20 to 25 minutes, but it actually took 45 minutes :( I don't mind the fact they are busy, but waiting double the time given is not helpful. No apology or sorry for the wait, or small bag of prawn crackers etc to make up for the delay. Even had a gentleman come in while I was waiting, he placed an order over the counter, and then recieved his order first.

Fantastic food and service. Made our order vegan for us and catered for our allergies. Food was delicious and was delivered 40 minutes after I rang. Thoroughly recommend and will definitely use again when on the island. Many thanks.

Ordered the set meal for 3 online.The food arrived promptly and was piping hot.There are dishes on there that i would not have ordered for just myself but we found them all delicious.With kebabs and burgers now costing £8-10 without chips this set menu is pretty good value at £43 and a real treat.There was enough food to feed my wife and my 14 and 16 year olds and myself. Never ever had a disappointing meal from the China Garden

Terrible. Came very fast. Veg spring rolls had very little veg in. Rice was hard,obviously microwaved. Chow mein did not taste right.

Had a good meal beginning of the year. But today was awful. Overcooked noodles in my blsnd chow mein that stuck to the container Very poor king prawns. No filling in wonton's basically flat pastry. But worst of all 10 in HAIR embedded into a noodle in my chow mein. The owner actually laughed down the phone to us. Very unprofessional. On being told I had to drive there to get only half my money back. The owner was very aggressive and not apologetic at all. Did not put the money back onto my bank card but gave us cash from the till.

First time using this takeaway since I found out about their app - ordering is easy, painless and I love that you can specify any alterations to the dishes such as no onions or extra mushrooms etc. Bit pricier than other places but the food is delicious and worth the extra pennies to treat yourself. Collection or takeaway service available within the Ryde area. Would recommend and use again 👌

Chinese from here all ways been very good or great but have had one or two bad meals where they added no sauce to the noddle was not dry or anything just 0 taste they did rectify it so not so bad. Would recommend ordering from here allways service with a smile

Eye-wateringly expensive and not worth the premium. I typically order the same thing at a competitor at the top of the town and this was my first visit to the China Garden. I paid over £23 for the same order I normally pay £15 for at its competitor. Having said that, service was quick on a Friday night - probably because they have priced out most of the indigenous population!

We have used this place before but slowly becoming expensive and the quality going down hill fast, ordered a takeaway and spent the next two days being violently sick! Don’t wSte your money

The worst ever takeaway. It was cold, dry and rice was not cooked enough,was still hard. Sweat and sour very dry very little sweet/sour sauce with raw onion on top. Not at all nice, never again.

Food came piping hot, and bang on time. However I didn’t rate the chicken balls, nor the chips and also the curry sauce wasn’t great, I found it was a little lumpy. Saying that, it was a fairly good price.

Worst Chinese food we’ve ever eaten….£50 worth of food and not one dish was tasty. Disappointing

You get what you pay for. It's cheap and affordable but we were left disappointed. On the plus side, the food wasn't very greasy. However, the food was not great - bland and didn't taste fresh. The char siu pork was disappointing - dyed red meat - and to fill out the container - they put down a layer of bean sprouts. The egg fried rice had hardly any egg and was dry; it was obvious that the rice lacked a consistent mix of soya sauce. It's a real shame that the crispy aromatic duck is only sold in quarters; the accompanying hoi sin sauce was just hoi sin sauce; and instead of spring onion/leek they gave us chopped red onions. As an authentic English Chinese takeaway, it lacked authenticity.

Excellent food. Everything tastes very fresh. Even dishes that I am not usually too fond of at other restaurants taste great here. Service is fast and precise. Highly recommended.

We have been going to China garden for about 4 years and it is the best Chinese food we have ever had. In all that time I have only had one takeaway that wasn’t up to scratch. We will definitely continue to keep using them and recommend them

I'm not a pro take away reviewer i've eaten at a few in my time on the Island and on the North island and my Wife and i think China Garden is the tastiest with best menu. Others are Cheaper. But they are not to far away from a shop bought cook at home. China Garden food is the best in our opinion.

Of the Ryde facilities it's better than most

Once again the food from China Garden impresses. It always arrives promptly and hot. Even the prawn Crackers were still warm. We recently made a mistake of grabbing a takeaway in Ryde from another restaurant. Big mistake and makes you realise how genuinely good the food from China Garden is!

Our First takeaway delivery from China Garden and delighted with the quality of food ordered. Not particularly cheap but we don’t mind paying for food as tasty as this. 5 stars from us.

Good food and service. How Chinese takeaways were and should be.

The chap on the phone was friendly and accomodating,delivery was around the wait time that we were told on the phone.The delivery driver was friendly. The food however was bland and tastless unfortunately we had beef and mushroom which tasted watery and bland. Special rice had cauliflour in it and that is all we could taste. Chowmein was tastless,as was the kung pow pork. We were very disapointed however on the plus side the kids do not usually like chinsse as do not like a lot of flavour but ate all of this as had little flavour. As i say the customer service was good but the food was not.

The food was very expensive, came in small containers, was undercooked and tasted of almost nothing at all. I would not recommend buying from here based on my first, and last, visit to their restaurant.

Not a good experience, the sweat and sour battered king prawns were so hard don't think the batter is supposed to be that hard it was a mission getting into the prawn. The Yung chow special chow mein was dry and tasteless. On a plus note the delivery was quick and the food was hot.

Best chinese on the island I travel from Newport to Ryde for thir food.

I like the food from this takeaway, it is always delivered promptly. Food is always hot and it is delicious Chinese food. It seems a bit more expensive than some other places but I don’t mind that when it is good quality. Especially like the sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style.

We moved to the island in January and have been trying out local Chinese takeaways to find the best one. Out of the six we have tried this one was definitely the best. We aren’t that adventurous when it comes to Chinese food and we always stick to Chow Mein, chips and curry sauce. The chow mein was very tasty, the curry sauce was good and the chips were probably the best we’ve ever had. It’s not the cheapest we’ve tried but definitely worth paying a little extra. Our search is over and we will be back. 😀👍

Best chinese ever. The chow mein is lovely, the egg fried rice is spot on and the chicken and cashew nuts is gorgeous. You won't regret a meal from here!!

I have used the China Garden throughout many different management and food quality has fluctuated . Popped in a couple of weeks ago and the quality of the food was superb . Will be using it regularly in future

I've never been served crispy duck pancakes with chopped red onion, the spring onion and hoisin are main ingredients. The duck was mostly fat . A £60 meal and £40 went in the bin. Never again.

Below average , chips tasted old and soggy . Overall a bland experience on all of it , chowmein need salt and noodles where slightly undercooked .., only ordered because the other local was closed

Was good till they stopped taking card payments was told card machine stolen then asked and told because bank charges too much noticed they changed delivery time too...dont belive bank charges reason for it...was no1 chineese to go to b4 but not being able to pay by card must of cost them alot of customers in this day and age bot a good reason

Omg this place is awesome, I've never ordered from you until last month, the food was so good! It's all on point, the pineapple chicken is sooo good, the noodles are perfect!! The chips are lovely! There is just one thing though, not food related - but the only disappointment is that you don't accept cards when ordering on the phone, which is sad because some of us don't carry cash just cards aka me lol. Please change that I'm sure you'd get more custom. But I'll be ordering from you again and again and again. :))

A good place to eat with many choices and fresh tasting food. Shame they close early as I'd order more often. Service was good and prices fair but Chinese food has always been expensive to taste the whole menu. I like the fact they do what you ask whenever I order delivery as my flat is hard to get to. Lemon chicken is great.

Tonight we decided to try a different Chinese takeaway than our usual one. We ordered Barbeque spare ribs, deep fried king prawns in garlic and butter, 2 large pancake rolls and the Singapore chow mein. I was told it may be a delivery time of up to an hour, which I can understand for a Friday night. The food arrived in less than half an hour. Wow what can I say? we both sat there and it didn't take long for us to comment to each other how lovely this food was. The flavours were great, the amount has left us with seconds for tomorrow (except the pancake rolls). We both agreed it was the best Chinese takeaway we have had for a very long time. Thank you China garden.

My girlfriend phoned up to sort out the problem and the restaurant said that even though the mistake was theirs we would have to pay extra to sort it out even though they messed up our order. I don't know how this place is still open with shoddy customer care like this, it's shocking. I really wouldn't recommend this place as a takeaway. I've never had this experience in my entire life from any other restaurant. We were appalled and certainly won't be using them again.

Decided that we were having a night in rather than go out for dinner this particular night (on holiday) so we decided to grab something from here. The lady behind the counter wasn't exactly the friendliest and when we placed our order and wanted to pay by card were informed that they don't accept card payments at all and to go to the cashpoint around the corner! I know most places don't like cards for values under £5 but we did spend £33. So future patrons.....cash only. We ordered a mixed starter box, crispy shredded beef, sweet & sour chicken Hong Kong style and rice. In fairness we have had better in the past, they weren't exactly big portions either. The one positive for me was that we didn't get the raging thirst that usually comes from having a Chinese. It was edible but it's really not for raving about and we wouldn't go back.

No taste! I just get duck chow main, chicken chow main and chicken sweet corn soup... Food was without any taste!!! So disappointed!!!!! Waste of money! Not recommend at all!!! It was that bad that my wife left most of her portion! Just needle it was hard to find any meat there!???

I’ve never had a bad takeaway from here. Quick and reliable when using home delivery also. My favourites and the Singapore noodles and mixed starter.

Was told delivery would be under 1 hour was longer and when it arrived it was cold. Order was wrong and when phoned back telephone manner was disgusting. Did not enjoy the meal at all will never order from there again.
