Had takeaway tonight. First class. Food was excellent and great service.

I highly recommend China Express. The food is always fresh and vegetables are cooked to perfection. I personally prefer the more savoury meat dishes and found the Cantonese beef too sweet. I’m working my way through their menu;). The service is always good. I look forward to my next visit.

Looked at the reviews on the local takeaways and this exceeded the comments. All tasty and hot: lemon chicken, tofu and back bean - great veg in there too with Singapore fried rice and a generous quarter of duck. Really good - no complaints. Just remember cash only.

Tasty tasty tasty! One of the best Chinese takeaways around, and definitely the best in Barlick! Food is super fresh and delicious and the service was brilliant - both over the phone and in the shop. The kung po sauce is so good 👌🤤 Portion sizes are big and full of high-quality ingredients. The combo starter is a definite highlight - super tasty and excellent value for money! Great Chinese takeaway, would definitely recommend!

All time favourite Chinese, salt and Peper chicken is to die for, and their salt and pepper box meal is great value for money 100% recommend for a Friday night after work

It's REALLY bad. The chips were rock hard and the curry sauce was greasy. Pretty much inedible. I strongly do not recommend.

Amazing food last night! We had the sweet & sour chicken, vegetable fried rice, salt & pepper chips and mini veggie spring rolls. The veggies were super fresh, you could tell the veg is washed and prepared perfectly as there was no bitter taste to the green peppers! Chicken was perfectly cooked in a light batter. So happy to see a Chinese takeaway using more than bean sprouts and water chestnuts in the veggie options. The portions were huge, so I am looking forward to re-heating the leftovers today for lunch. 100% recommend this Chinese, we will definitely go back for more!

Very poor. Used to be good but gone downhill recently. Chow mein had less flavour than a pot noodle, and the prawn toast tasted like it was re-fried from last week. Won't be going again

The food was really nice but freezing cold on arrival, I’m not going to blame the restaurant but perhaps choose a better delivery service.

Very poor food last night combination starter spring rolls the size of a Chapstick spare ribs tiny and as for the salt and pepper chips no flavour at all , special fried rice 5/10 and they have the cheek to put the price up £3 . We will be voting with our feet no more food from there ☹️

Had a takeaway this evening and it’s usually ok but tonight it was inedible, the worse we’ve had and won’t be returning anytime soon.

I am sad to say that the food has deteriorated as the cook has changed, the food has lost its flavor.

never been a fan of this Chinese restaurant. In my opinion, the food is too salty and does not have a good flavour. Additionally, the last time my daughter ordered food from here, she became ill afterwards. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a good Chinese meal, and it's not a safe place to eat.

Got my order completely wrong. Food I did eat was awful and as a result I was off work the next day with stomach problems. Think the hygiene standards need improving and an urgent visit from the health inspector. AVOID this place unless you enjoy spending time on your toilet!

Got my order wrong I told her that was wrong and she insisted that it wasn’t. Also charged for praw crackers but it’s says it’s free in order over £10. I do not recommend!

Do not recommend unless you like greasy food and poor customer service. Ordered Vegetable Spring Rolls and Hot & Sour soup, not knowing there was two options (for the soup). Received exactly that but not the vegetarian option I was expecting. Didn't like this place before due to the grease but thought I'd try them again for a change, never again will I go there under current management. After a cold walk home, tucked into the food, spring rolls dripping with oil, had a taste of the soup, looking at what looked like chicken being told by my friend that it must be a bamboo shoot or something similar, no it was meat. Haven't had meat for three years, now I had digested it. Phoned them up to speak to the manager to see what they could offer before making up my mind on this business. The conversation was confirmed with the man who took my order, yes it was what I asked for and I did get questioned at the time of placing an order if I would like the veggie spring rolls or not however it would've been nice to of been offered this when ordering the soup. The manager offered to replace it if I brought it back which I declined due to not wanting to face the cold and feeling disturbed from shopping with them. The lady ended the phone call by saying "Okay, bye" and that was it. No offer of a refund, just took my cash. As a vegetarian looking at the menu, I wouldn't think to see if there was a meat option never mind understand what half of it contains. To know I've consumed meat, is very disturbing and has put me right off any other food for the night, chicken flesh in my teeth, yum. Poor customer service, greasy food, yuck! Better off supporting other businesses with better quality food. Best part of a fiver gone.

This review is not about the food! Do not use the Facebook page for China Express in Barnoldswick as when you have ordered and paid it is in Nelson! I have spoke to both take away and Barnoldswick say they don’t have a face page but are aware it’s misleading, the manager refused to talk to me and the person who answered the phone was aware of this but the manager isn’t bothered! As I was picking the food up Nelson was too far to go at 11 miles away! They didn’t care either! The food was disgusting!!

Heard good reviews of the food since the new management, so tried going back. Very pleased with my Crispy shredded chili beef and Salt n Pepper chips. Been back quite a few times since. Cash only folks though just as a heads up.

Read the reviews before i went and they looked good so we ordered. Sweet and sour chicken balls were dry and limited chicken with hard batter i only at 1. The chips soggy and the spring rolls clearly heated ina micro. The order only took 10 mins so goes to show the food was not fresh!!Ate 2 chips and now im starving

We always get good food from here. It is always piping hot and plenty of it. The delivery is good and always comes sooner than they predict on the phone.

Ok the usual go to treat ,but this time food was awfull.Chicken cooked so hard you couldnt bite into it,King prawn dish with minature shrimps,definitely not prawns.We will not be eating here again

The best Chinese takeaway in Barlick by far, huge portions, always piping hot and ready in no time. Always a friendly service. I am really particular about the quality of food I eat and this place definitely gets the thumbs up from mr and my family.

Tried this place for the first time, ordered spring rolls & chicken in black bean sauce... the spring roll were soggy + rubbery, Then half way through the chicken in black bean when I got a crispy bit, which made me gag & to great shock I then spat out a dead wasp !!!! If you value your heath DON’T EAT HERE!!

Amazing salt n pepper chips and you must try their garlic sauce with prawn crackers, quite simply AWESOME.......

The worst Chinese I have ever eaten three it all away after a few mouthful, the mixed starter of prawn toast and spring rolls were just full of fat, the fried rice had no taste, king prawns were like rubber and the sauce was far too sweet, the chicken chow main tasted of washing up liquid will not ever go back its crap

We ordered a take away and they delivered even though we were 10 miles away! What an outstanding meal I’ve never seen as much food and it was gorgeous !!!! Definitely recommend!

What an amazing Chinese takeaway, all the food we ordered was out of this world. We had a 15 minute wait but it was well worth it. We recommend this takeaway to everyone who likes Chinese cuisine and the portions are large.

We have eaten here a lot over the years and the food, when right, is good and the postion sizes generous but they often get orders wrong, This came to a head this week with a piece of battered squid served up in a potion of banana fritter. My partner who is allegic to seafood was ill for several days as a result. I cannot recommend a restaurant that pays dangerously little attention to detail.

Ordered tea which came without egg fried rice and ordered king prawn balls in sweet and sour. There was no king prawns involved in the meal just normal size ones, the batter was about a inch thick and was like prawns wrapped in a donut!

We were staying at the Ribblesdale lodges and came across this take away menu so decided to order in. One of the dishes that we ordered was the satay chicken skewers...usually a favourite for myself and partner. However, on biting in to the skewer I found that the chicken was still practically raw in the middle!! My partner had unfortunately swallowed his and was awoken at 4am to extreme stomach cramps and vomiting which we can only presume was down to the RAW CHICKEN as this is the only food he had eaten since toast that morning. AVOID this take away at all costs!!

The service was superb. I didn’t have a menu so I asked them to send me one on messenger. Within minutes I had the images of the menu.

Lived in barlik for years but always used million stars which seems to have closed again so tried this place by chance. What a pleasant surprise- food was actually much better than million stars and well be ordering again, without a doubt.

Primera vez pidiendo para la entrega. Desde aquí. comido antes y todo era genial. Esta vez no es tan fantástico. Combo ordenados mezcladas. para 2 como entrante. Frito. llegó en una caja de pollo y no sabe bien. . alas de pollo eran escasas real costillas sabor estaban aceptables. Los rollitos de primavera. y de otros elementos de mezcla de arranque no estaban mal. Pedimos carne. chile y patatas fritas crujientes para principal. . Normalmente en una salsa pegajosa, pero este era más como el agua. No gusto bien, supongo, pero la consistencia era muy lejos de la marca para mí. Las patatas fritas eran muy, muy malo y me encontré empujando ellos aparte de encontrar uno bueno para comer. En general una mala experiencia para mí. . Quizás un nuevo chef quizás los nuevos propietarios. Lo que.sin duda no hemos tenido antes desde aquí.

We tried this takeaway last weekend. I don't think I have ever had a meal that was so terrible. Salt and pepper spare ribs were unrecognisable and coated in something that had been deep fried- horrible ! The main was equally disgusting and was mostly a thin gravy with vegetables. Very disappointed

i work in lancashire and when driving home i will often take quite a lengthy detour to visit china express,the deep fried crispy chicken is simply the tastiest food i have ever had and my children adore the chow mein,the food is always outstanding and the staff are very friendly and helpful.If you are looking for wonderful chinese food then look no further than china express.

Quick delivery, obviously microwaved and please.... If you like meat in your take away choose million stars.... This place drowns your meal in veg to mask the lack of anything else

Stayed at ribblesdale park for a weekend recently and ordered a takeaway from here as menu was in the lodge. Took a it longer than promised to arrive but all of the food was tasty and the portions were huge. We ordered for 6 people but what we got could have fed 8-10 easily. The chips especially were yummy. Would recommend to anyone.

Restaurant Quality Food, Very Friendly Service & Reasonably Priced.

A friend told me of a place in this town that sold some good silver spoons. Didn't find that, but I did find China Express. Fantastic. So rare to find a Chinese take away that offers the all food you probably know but then takes it one step further with homemade twists. The chef I think just like playing with flavours... The plum sauce on the fried chicken wings was a total hit.. I love that sauce! All great food and if you're in the area, go try it... My own town could do with some of their recipes :)

Ordered mixed starters duck pancakes sweet and sour chicken and special chowmein. Good points big portions, duck was goodBad points wontons inedible slimey and off tasting, sweet and sour was battered chicken in a flavourless bright orange sickly slime. The chowmein tasted ok to start with however whilst eating it parts tasted odd and left me feeling quite unwell. Never again

Nice food, we ordered them while we stayed in gisburn and they delivered to our lodge, we was very happy with the amount we got and the value, and quality of our food.

Eaten from here on a number of occasions and never had a bad meal. Salt and pepper wings are good and the prawn dishes, chow mein especially, are excellent. Another favourite is special curry. The portions are generous. The staff are friendly and they have a delivery service.

While staying in Gisburn for a long weekend, placed a telephone order for a takeaway. Quick delivery, food still hot on arrival and really tasty. Good selection of dishes available, at a reasonable price.Will certainly use again when next in the area.

Very friendly and efficient staff, they deliver, never had to wait more than 25 mins.We love the spare ribs with BBQ sauce.I love satay, schezwan and special spicy garlic prawns. I usually have noodles with bean sprouts which are very tasty.My husband has tried more dishes than me but everything has been good. Love salt and pepper chips too.One note of caution some dishes are a bit salty for my husband ( but not me)

All in all, not the best Chinese takeaway I've ever had but by no means the worst! Definitely worth a visit if you're craving a Chinese! We had the soft noodles with bean sprouts and the crispy beef in sweet and sour sauce! The sweet and sour sauce was nice but a little odd to what I usually get and had a liquorice tinge to it which was a bit odd! However, the prawn toast was the best I've ever had!

I went to this takeaway last night for the first time and ordered crispy chilli beef and egg fried rice and a portion of ribs. 7 minutes later the food was presented to me, I made my way home and opened the food, this is a dish I order from every Chinese I go too. It was for a start the wrong colour the wring meat (if you can call it meat) and was pretty bloody cold. Bearing in mind I live 3 or 4 minutes away at best it should have been piping hot. After tasting it I flatly refused to eat it. IT WAS NOT FIT FOR MY DOG HE EVEN TURNED HIS NOSE UP AT IT.. In the end I drove to colne to lotus and ordered the same dish and then drove home, it was piping hot and absolutely amazing. I will never return to this takeaway again.

We love the curries from China Express and have them at least twice a month .I always enjoy the prawn curry whilst my partner prefers chicken .The portions are generous and we quite often share a chicken curry fried rice and portion of chips .hmmmm making me hungry writing this review.

The food from here is really good, we use it as our preferred chinese takeaway whenever we do have takeaway. They do delivery which is a bonus on a cold and windy night and know your address from your telephone call (not sure whether they have a system to do this or whether its because we've ordered for delivery before) and the delivery man is nice and pleasant as is the person taking the phone calls, they answer really quickly and know their menu. The food is really good I would recommend the Salt and Pepper Ribs lots of meat on the Ribs and really nice taste, along with the Beef Satay. The chips are really nice and crisp and have a good taste. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a good chinese takeaway.

We use this takeaway quite regularly. Always good friendly service. Chow meins are excellent, salt and pepper chicken wings and large spring rolls also a good call for starters. Good sized portions also. Keep up the good work.

Probably the best Chinese takeaway ever! When I first moved here a number of years ago I was told China Express wasn't very good, so avoided it. Then I decided I shouldn't just take other people's word for it, so tried it myself last year. Since then I can't keep away from the place! We have a takeaway at least once a week - the food is absolutely delicious, the staff are lovely, and they even deliver locally for just £1. HIGHLY recommended

Having been put off visiting China Express for several years due to a poor reputation locally we finally decided to give it a try a short time ago - if only we'd known what we were missing! I tend to go for chicken or prawn based dishes, and it's good to see when they list KING Prawns on the menu, they mean KING prawns! Everything we've ordered from China Express has been absolutely delicious, of extremely generous proportions, and very reasonably priced. They even deliver in the local area for just £1. The team at China Express is very friendly, and I almost feel like one of the family! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the takeaway to anybody and everybody - you will NOT be disappointed!
