China Express in West Dorset

I will not be going back!! Have been ordering from here for years but things have been getting worse over recent times. Today, I telephoned my order through and was told that there would be a 20 minute wait, which was fine. When I got there, about 15 minutes after placing my order, the young lad behind the counter continued to call me a different name despite asking him to call be by my name. Nearly 40 minutes after I placed my order I was handed my bag of food but I saw that an item had been missed. Mistakes happen but it should be an easy fix…so I thought. I raised the point with the young lad who said that I only ordered 1 of the items and not 2. I said that I had corrected him when he read back my order but it didn’t matter as what was on the receipt had little influence on how long I would have to wait for the second item. I asked how long it would be before I decided to pay and wait for the missing item. The young lad went into the kitchen and came back a short moment later and began to say, in a condescending tone, that I only ordered 1 and the order was repeated back to me. At this point I was very hungry so decided to just leave. When I got home and ate the food it tasted very salty. This is the last straw for me. It’s time to use my feet and go elsewhere.

Took 40 minutes for a single house special chow mein also people got there orders before us when they come after us

Do not order food from this place,you don't get what you ordered then they say it's right no way was it I ordered Singapore beef noodles and got what can only explain as the most tasteless food ever would not give my money back, the worst Chinese I've ever encountered will never order food from there again

I ordered my daughters and family a meal from here and and I asked for 2 egg fried rice and 2 chicken chow main , ribs , chilly beef and so on,me and my wife went out and left them to pick it up them selves and when i got home they gave them 4 large rice ,ribs with no meat on spring rolls were like paper and the price I payed 62 pound for crappy food and we live 10 miles away and my daughters are too polite to complain . Absolutely terrible food never again from now on I'll go somewhere else . Sorry guys but this place sucks 😔

First time here, take away 4 main dishes which were all excellent, hot and tasty 😋 Service was also impressive 👌 Definitely recommend it and will be doing so myself soon 😀

Best Chinese in Dorchester order here regularly. Couldn't be happier. Only thing that bugs me is the price of sauce please lower your sauce price 🙏🏼

Awful and bad customer service. Refused to even consider our complaint. It was us having to eat or the lack of. The ribs were not only dry but no meat. The satay sticks were so dry they would take the skin off your throat. The seaweed soggy. Chips were crispy and dry. The 3 meat in black bean was lacking meat. Should be called wheres the meat in black bean ? We had so much onion and peppers in our dishes our meal looked vegetarian. Last time I will order here.

Bang average food and awful customer service. Delivery man was extremely rude for his own inability to find the correct house to deliver too. Wont be using them again and would recommend you look to better alternatives.

Vile. Worst Chinese I've ever had. Wouldn't feed it to a dog, let alone myself. Complete waste of money, avoid and go down the road to Lee Garden.

We had the standard meal for 2. A very good mix of flavours the rice was excellent and the sweet and sour king prawns perfect.

I was working in the area after driving from Plymouth felt really hungry so off I went to look for food and unluckily I found this place it was sooooooo bad, it was bad bad bad if you want a good Chinese go to Plymouth and look for the 7up express its banging GREEN ARMY

Had lovely beef black bean sauce with special fried rice. Partner had prawnwes in oyster sauce with special fried rice. We had some sesame seed prawn toast all cooked to erfection really enjoyed our meal. We had free prawn crackers. Definitely be going back.

Really bad takeaway , delivered within 10 mins . Obv all microwaved . Couldn't eat it awful never again . Used to be ok

We live 25 mile round trip so don't do takeaway often as they don't deliver this far. But special occasion and special treat or not!! The worst Chinese we ever had. Excited to see crispy lamb on the menu, my favourite but it is not like anything I've ever had before slices of lamb from a joint and stuck in a chip fryer until absolutely inedible. Shoe leather would have been more edible I wouldn't give it to my dogs! The house special chow mean again was not like any other we'd had. Small portion of noodles with what can only be described as a soup on the side, consisting mainly of bamboo shoots and vegetables had to hunt the prawns and meat. I chose duck with mushrooms another favourite but again the meat was tough and chewy. The only thing we liked was crab claws and ribs.

Good food, fast service. Really like the selection they had. I know all Chinese takeaway places down here are similar but this is the one we always end up going back to even though it's a little further away.

Not great, tastes a lot cheaper than some of the others in the area but pretty good for the money. We would order from here again if our other place isn’t open. ☺️

Cracking food, always our first go to.

Got my order wrong, ordered vegetarian chow mein and received Duck chow mein, gave them a chance to rectify this and the lady insisted I ordered meat!! As a double insult I now have a dead innocent duck sacrificed for their mistake and why would a vegetarian possibly order Meat? WHY?? I am now going to replace all their menus at my place of work for a competitors...

Worst Chinese food we've had. We ordered quite a big lot. 70% of the lot were burnt! Especially the mixed vegetable chow mein and spring rolls were totally bitter to eat. All food ended up in bin. I don't think they can cook. We had to order another Chinese takeaway. It was my best friend's birthday! Sick!

Well priced food. Never had a problem ordering other than the line being busy but as to be expected. Cannot comment on ordering in there as we have only ever done it over the phone. It has always been ready or at most a 2 minute wait. Portions are generous. Look forward to eating from there. After reading the other reviews I have to say I have not had any of the same issues.

Absolutely awful service tonight, delivery was really late so called them and asked where it was...he explained our order had been delivered to the wrong house number and that the driver is going to collect it and bring it back to our house now? 5 mins later order was delivered was stone cold!! Rang them up, they were very rude didn't want to know about it 'too busy' for a refund!!! Would NEVER recommend this place to anyone!

DONT EAT HERE!! SILVERFISH FOUND IN FOOD!! BEGGED ME NOT TO RING COUNCIL! Managed to get money back but not the point live bugs in our food!!!!

Awful!!! Take your money tell you it will be 45 mins, and it is often is 2 hrs. And they won't refund you and cancel order and it's always sooo cold. Never again. Every time.

No stars if I could...... we used to be regulars until last time. We placed our order over the phone as usual, paid by card as usual. Food arrived it was fine. 2 days later they used my bank card details for their own purchases. Never using them again and I advise everyone the same.

Waited there for 25 minutes to place my order and let the young guy take numerous calls until the 25 minute mark! Got completely ignored this whole time and then had to ask the guy to not take the next call and take my order! HOW can they ignore customers coming in to the place to order? Why are the phone orders priority?! Ridiculous! The staff were then rude when I asked them to finally serve me! Such a shame as it's good food but they seriously need training on customers service! Maybe take a leaf out of the Golden Flame's book in Littlemoor! They get a load of phone calls but STILL get served if you walk in! They need someone to come help the young guy at the front! The rude female woman who works there could have come out and helped take orders! Reading the reviews it seems I'm not the only one who's had this trouble!

I get food from them 2-3 times a week, i know you have to wait for the food even 30 minutes , but that is only between 18:00-20:00, best deal is to order for more than 20£, you get free delivery in dorchester town, free prawn crackers and you don't get the hustle of waiting in the shop. Food always the same, always good services.

I have been here once a month to buy Chinese for my girlfriend and her family as a treat. Normally there is only one staff member who both takes orders from both customers popping in and telephone orders. However, telephone orders seem to take president over actual customers who come in so its not unusual to wait few minutes before you actually get served Yesterday I went there and we had to wait half an hour for the order. And to add insult to injury the other customer that came in AFTER we did got their order before us AND complimentary prawn crackers. We got our food after what seemed like a eternity and it must have been sitting there for a while as it was cold when we got it home (2min drive bk from the Chinese) and we DIDN'T get free prawn crackers. Only got 'sorry for the wait' from the young man behind the counter. Won't go there again

Food generally nice,however they don't take criticism well & become very hostile & rude very quickly!! Don't often get spoke to & argued with like that!!
