Awful,sweet and sour chicken grey and inedible and pork balls awful,chucked in the bin

Food was completely inedible, had to throw it all in the bin. Duck in plum sauce came coated in a strange stodgy batter and deep fried, with the sauce in a separate pot? Egg fried rice was flavourless. Spring roll was dripping in grease. Didn’t even get my drink. Absolutely disgusting food.

Food from here was great however this restaurant needs to fire the delivery driver Noah who first of all couldn't figure out how to open a door to the building then afterwards kept me waiting outside for a long time because he failed to check the delivery had already been paid.

We had a takeaway from China City this evening. The crispy shredded beef was really chewy and definitely not crispy. The sweet and sour sauce was neither sweet nor sour and was almost luminous in colour. Finally, the pancake roll was so salty I could only manage 2 bites before putting it straight in the bin. Needless to say, this is the last time we will be ordering from China City!

I haven't put any stars for atmosphere because I've never actually been there but the food is excellent and always on time I've never had a problem with it

China City, Moordown, B'mth...Awful food - this restaurant has been a favourite for many years but the quality of the food is now shocking. I imagine the business is under new management. Anything with batter on it, chicken balls etc, is now covered in a thick layer of under cooked and stodgy batter and is inedible. The vegetable content in the mini spring rolls was virtually non-existent. The food ended up in my bin; a complete waste of money. I will not be returning and would not recommend this takeaway restaurant to anyone.

Food was hot and tasty arrived quickly. Prices were also fair. Very happy

First time ordering from them had bbq ribs and Singapore chowmein portions are massive and the food tastes amazing be warned though the Singapore chowmein is much spicier than most places

I have been a regular customer of this restaurant for many years and have never had any "major" problems. However, my last order was a very disappointing experience. I ordered the beef chow mein, and when it arrived, it had a strong, off-putting odor. "WAS DEFINITELY OUT OF DATE" I called the restaurant to let them know, and the staff member I spoke to was not very friendly. They simply said that they would send me a new meal (I'M STILL WAITINGIT ARRIVE 3 DAYS LATER). I ended up throwing all the food we ordered away, as I was worried about cross contamination and getting food poisoning. I am very disappointed with the way this situation was handled. I have always had a good experience at this restaurant in the past, but this incident has left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I will not be ordering from this restaurant again.

Never had an issue before always use China City but today our food turned up slightly warm and the beef crispy noodles should of been beef raw noodles as half the dish wasnt even cooked. Disappointed and will leave this place alone for a while.

Used to get a great meal from this chinese, but the last two was dry chewy rubbish with odd tasting chicken. Obviously reheated from a previous order. Used them for years, but never again. 1 star is because I paid for very low quality food on the last order, where half of it went in the bin.

Ordered fillet beef which should be cut with spoon yet got asda frying steak that could be cut with a chainsaw

I didnt receive my order. I did call , the person who answered said that He is very busy, has another call and put the phone down on me. I did pay 70£ and no food. No money, no food, no Sorry 😳

By far the worst takeaway I have ever ordered, the chicken was slimy in the curry and in the crispy noodle, it looked like they had taken a raw packet of noodles and thrown baby corn and slimy chicken on, the duck and pancakes were also disgusting as well as the crispy shredded chilli chicken, I spent over £30 and me and boyfriend ate 1 Aromatic pancake massively disappointed and will never return

We've ordered from China City many times and it's always arrived quicker than expected and been hot and delicious every time! Would highly recommend :)

I have no complaints with the food when it finely arrives but everytime I've ordered through Just Eat or Uber Eats it arrives well after the delivery time and I've always had to chase up the order.. tonight I ordered through Uber Eats and again my order didn't arrive so waited 25 minutes after the expected delivery time and it appeared my order never made it through to their kitchen. I just don't understand why they choose other platforms if they can't commit to their deliveries but if you order through China City direct it tends to arrive in a timely manner. Food great but delivery times are shocking if your not placing your order through them direct.

Ordered food at 6pm, had an estimated delivery time of 7:30pm. Didn't arrive on time. Couldn't contact the restaurant at all as they weren't answering the phone. 9pm came and still nothing so I requested my money back as we had already cooked something else at home as my son had to go to bed. Finally arrived just after 10pm with just a 'sorry for the delay' and refused to refund me. Very poor customer service, will not use again and will not recommend!

Use to be a good take away. Takes longer than the time you are given for delivery but was still the hubbies fav Chinese. However this evening we ordered at 7.20pm. given 8.39pm as delivery time.... Tried to contact many times by phone and in the end cancelled the order online at 10.30pm... SHOCKED when there was a knock at the door at 11.50pm with our order, safe to say we had eaten by this point and declined the delivery. I did feel sorry for the delivery person but I am discussed that they would do this! Currently still awaiting a refund!

We ordered at 7oclock. The deliveroo app advised we would receive our food by 20:25. This was quite late but we understand because it is new years eve in lockdown so it would obviously be busy. However we then received a message at 21:15 saying our order has been delivered??? It was not delivered. We tried to call and no answer. We spent £60 on our order. Please can someone get in touch with us on 07914819548 to organise a refund and sufficient compensation

I tried to order food over the phone. Their machine declined and blocked my card. The woman on the phone was very rude and said it has to be my bank account that’s wrong or I don’t have enough money when I definitely did. Rang the bank and sorted it out. Asked them what could of caused it. They said it would have been either the transaction looked suspicious or the details were entered in a suspicious way

We ordered a takeaway from China City, for a Birthday treat, after almost 2 hours it still hadn't arrived! We received a text saying they were busy in the kitchen so had to cancel our order! Totally unacceptable

No volveré a molestarme. Pedido esta noche a las 6:51 pm y aún no he recibido mi pedido. He llamado tres veces y ya ni siquiera atienden el teléfono. Entiendo las demandas en este momento, pero más de 2 horas es absolutamente inaceptable.

Tasty food. Quick delivery. Just a bit too greasy but still enjoyable. Had two chow mains. Delivery within 40mins on Saturday evening.

If you want to eat in a Hurry dont order from this restaurant. 2 Hours until food arrives. If you try to cancel they charge 50%. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else.

It's ok here. Nothing bad, always good portions and I don't believe any MSG so no strange dreams. Convenient location and off-road parking. Prompt and polite. Delivers also.

We asked to be called once outside and we never got a call. The food was disgusting! The rice tasted like rubber, the chicken was just boiled and then covered in a tone of garlic and the masamam curry was overly sweet than what it should be. I was really disappointed with this chinese.

tldr; Place an order, you won't be disappointed. I don't often order takeaway as they're usually disappointing. But a good Chinese is hard to beat. This is one of the best Chinese takeaways I've had in recent memory. We ordered a selection of dishes including chicken chow mein, pork balls, spring rolls and more. All the dishes were nothing short of excellent, which is rare in my experience. All the meat appeared good quality, and everything tasted as you'd expect. Some takeaways are a feast for the eyes, but the taste doesn't live up to the appearance with everything tasting similar. Not so with China city. I really can't fault any of the dishes we ordered, and delivery was quick and efficient. These guys are 100% my go to Chinese when I'm in Bournemouth from now on. Keep up the good work China City, you really deserve this review.

Mi novio y yo a menudo vamos a la ciudad de China cuando nuestro otro regular está cerrado. Él siempre está contento con su comida, pero me estoy hartando de que reciban un pedido incorrecto cada vez que vamos. No soy del todo vegetariano, pero no me gusta demasiado la carne, así que siempre elijo una de las opciones de cuajada de vegetales o frijoles. SIEMPRE siempre pido no setas ya que son lo único que no comeré en todo el mundo. En realidad, esta noche (casi me equivocaron al principio) elegí el curry de vegetales mixtos normal, donde hay una opción para agregar champiñones por 50 p, así que les dije: "Me gustaría el curry de vegetales mixtos pero sin hongos, lo habitual 4. 50 uno. Definitivamente no hay hongos ”, a lo que el cajero seguía diciendo que sí y que me interrumpía. ¡Llegamos a casa y abrimos nuestra comida y bajamos y miramos! Está lleno de ellos. Una o dos veces está bien, pero esto me sucede literalmente cada vez que vamos y me estoy hartando. Es un buen trabajo, no es una alergia que tengo.

We've eaten from there a few times, as local to us, but didn't seem quite so good on this occasion. Egg fried rice was oily and sweet and sour sauce tasted a bit vinegary. My husband's house curry was nice though.

Not great .. smokey chicken was completely soggy and tasted of fish Prawn toast under cooked , crispy noodles were soft other food was ok, Called to ask them to collect and he tried to give a load of reasons and excuses. would definitely not order from here again !!!

Ordered from here so many times and always comes to quick - never experienced any bad problems, just mixed up and gave us a Diet Coke instead of the normal one but and back within 5 minutes so was impressed. Definitely recommend.

Well this is a great Chinese it's my local Chinese takeaway and the staff are always so friendly on the phone I've never had a bad meal from here. I would recommend it to anyone

Are usual Chinese not open today so was recommended China City so thought give it ago.. Food arrived under 20mins of ordering it maybe if they had taken more time it would have tasted better .. Pancake rolls were under cooked and not very hot.. Chicken wings were a bit better but again not very hot.. Chicken curry & rice next, curry was OK rice very bland.. Also found it expensive. most of mine went in the bin definitely wouldn't recommend this place and won't be back

Best Chinese Takeaway food in Bournemouth. Obviously it's the very Anglisised version of Chinese food that no genuine Chinese person would recognise as authentic home cooking, but no matter. You know what you're getting, albeit none too healthy. Top dishes; Crispy Pancake Roll, Sweet n Sour King Prawn Balls, Chinese Stir-fried vegetables, and Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings. (but everything else on their menu is delicious too).

Food arrived on time but was not nice at all. We ordered 2 curries which were both liquid consistency and tasted awful. The chicken balls were full of oil they weren’t edible. Very disappointed and would not order from here again

ordered food from this takeaway twice, both times the food turned up wrong, the 1st time i let it slip as mistakes happen, the 2nd time i asked for them to amend the order, they dropped the new dish out and it was still wrong. would not recommend

Ordenado desde aquí por capricho, nunca había oído hablar de él y el precio parecía razonable en una de las aplicaciones para llevar. Pedimos por cinco y podría haber alimentado 10 con la cantidad de comida que tenemos! ¡Todo fue absolutamente delicioso, todo fue el calor correcto y realmente fue fantástico! ¡Se siente como una joya por descubrir!

The chicken chow main was hot and it did not state it was! And the rice had egg in it. I couldn't eat the rice because I'm allergic to egg and my partner couldn't eat the chow main because of it being to hot! Never will be going here again

WORST CHINESE I've ever had. Noodles was very very dry, sweet and sour sauce was not sweet at all, and was also very disappointed with the salt and pepper king prawns, I'm not kidding when I say they should be called GARLIC king prawns. They had so much garlic on them it was a joke.. ALSO, did not provide any cutlery or chopsticks when I clearly ordered a delivery, I had to go to a shop and buy my own. I called to complain and they simply told me to contact Hungry House with no apologies or anything. Very disappointed and would never recommend.

Stopped off here for a takeaway after finishing work late, the staff were very friendly and severed the food very quickly. I had the Hong Kong style sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice, all piping hot and all tasted very good, though I could have done with a few more veggies and less sauce, but all in all 'Very good' and a good price too.

One of the worst food I have eaten, well everything started with a nearly 2 hour wait, followed by a kung po chicken that was made with sweet and sour sauce, a special fried rice that had 2 bits of chicken, 1 of pork and 1 king prawn, and I have to admit 2 tiny half a cm prawns, then a whole 2 bags of chicken balls (big mistake), the batter was cooked outside, uncooked underneath and swimming in oil I could actually see the oil dripping off them, 2 pots of curry sauce tasting like soap, spring rolls were ok empty inside, one plus?, the crackers were amazing the best one I tried, but unfortunately this was the first time I ordered from them and it will be the last, sometimes is better to stick to what you know and a decent tasty food will be delivered to you, I will be sticking to Shang Pin always quality delivered.
