I'm so disappointed with this place - after hearing about this place online with the amount of hype it got.I travelled a good hour to get to it - I will not be back in a hurry. Do not waste your time if you are gluten free - rice has no taste and chips are not Chinese chips, more chippy chips, weird combo.

Closed untill the 19th April as they are having work carried out. I will be back when they open as they do gluten free and my favourite banana fritters.

Just had a family takeaway from china china.on the whole the food was OK except for the spare ribs which were inedible.also we werea,bag of chips short and were several miles away when we noticed. Very average.

The most overpriced munchie box at £27! Bland, but over salted selection of cheap menu choices. Loaded with chow mein and chips to bulk it out. A few ribs and bits of chicken. THE WORST example of this I have ever purchased. Avoid at all costs

Travelled 40 miles to try this place after hearing its apparently "The best". More like the worst! Food is bland and tasteless, chicken fried rice had no taste at all despite the claims that its done "the old fashioned way" and the chicken chow mein was a thin layer if noodles covered in big chunky veg, bits of chicken and what can only be described as a jelly like sauce. Cost me nearly double what my usual one does too. Not worth the hype.

Wow! Travelled from Montrose and we weren’t disappointed, food was amazing, curry sauce is the best I’ve had for years and I can’t recommend enough the chicken and black pudding fried rice, even took the tiger banquet and chicken curry spring rolls home and popped in the air fryer, we will be back!

Exceptionally good food and great value

Can honestly say this is the worst takeaway I have ever had. The chicken satay was inedible. It was dried up and burnt. Rice was hard and dry. Sweet and Sour was okay but cold. Chips were cold and greasy. Complete waste of £25.00. Would not go back

Great food and great service as always

Thought I would try this Chinese …wish I hadn’t bothered! Bought three meals ordered over phone and collected in person. The sweet and sour was good but the shredded beef Kung po was dreadfull over cooked beef hard to chew even though thinnish strips and the batter was soggy .The fish was over cooked and very dark coloured the batter was not nice either. Chips were OK . No prawn crackers ..given in every other Chinese ! Staff were young girls who were not very friendly with no conversation . Hate writing not good reviews but was necessary on this occasion .

The best in Perth, dare I say Scotland. Pete is an absolute legend who makes his own in hoos curry sauce, a rarity these days. Also caters for gluten free diets. 10/10, they don't make em like this anymore

First time in years ordering a Chinese in Perth. Would not recommend. Food was hot but very very bland. Our order came to over £70 and no free prawn crackers… Probably go elsewhere if you want a more flavourful meal.

Very dissapointing food despite the hype and not cheap

Terrible treatment from staff. If there was a place to actually make a complaint that counts somewhere I would. Food is too expensive and certainly not great. Wish this business would move so something better could move in.

Hadn't had Chinese takeaway in a long time and after this it will probably be even longer. 3 kinds of bland delivered. Just awful. Fried rice was fine, the beef in black bean, crispy shredded beef and sweet (not much sour) mixed meat was totally underwhelming. Sorry to say this but it was poor.

Rude, disorganised,, unhelpful, chaotic ordering at counter. Staff who can't advise about allergens on their menu. Restaurant seating firmly closed so no dining in anymore. China China is now a shell of the great place it used to be. Didn't even get as far as ordering food. Won't be back. I went up the road to a smaller take-away instead. Nice food, helpful staff, clean premises. Go there instead!

Chicken overkooked banana and pineapple batter chewy not impressed if you want a breaking bad delivery all good

Excellent food, our first time at China, China, we had Special curry with fried rice, Special chop suey with fried rice and chicken spring roll. They were all superb. Highly recommend China China food 5 stars ! The staff had super friendly customer service. Thank you all. We'll be back soon !

Worst ribs we've ever had, they should be tender and with a good sauce, instead difficult to cut and chew. Fried rice too oily, curry sauce nice. Staff look disinterested, and rolled their eyes when I asked why they can't sell prawn crackers but do offer it as part of a meal package.. Special fried rice + ribs + wonton crackers: £23.60.. that's £6 more than our usual chippy, never going back there.

Travelled from Glasgow to try the food after reading about it on Facebook. The food was good but we felt it was a bit expensive for what we got. The actual chip shop chips weren't great. The spice bag was good but had mainly chips in it. We ordered 4 sauces but only 2 were in the bag. Could definitely recommend the salt and chilli black pudding - it was amazing! There wasnt much choice in the way of drinks and the fridge wasn't turned on so the drinks were warmer than we would have liked. It was nice and would go again but probably wouldn't travel through unless we needed to go to Perth anyway!

Pete and his team are great. They can do 95% of the menu gluten-free. It is the best Chinese takeaway I have ever had....even before I was diagnosed as celiac. We drove up from Fife to collect our dinner. Was still hot and great when we got home. Keep being awesome Pete! Thak you!

I am 70 years old and just had (can’t say I ate it) the WORST fish supper of my life. The chips were cold and certainly not fresh, suggest possibly last nights chips heated up. As for the fish..well it didn’t even resemble fish so haven’t a clue what it was wrapped in the stodgiest batter I’ve ever encountered. NEVER AGAIN

Disappointing. Chips hard and dry, maybe were sat around for a while.

Awful, sweet and sour chicken looked questionable, not only had I ordered without batter but looked pale and lacked flavour. The chilli beef was more like a soup and had five chunky bits swimming around. On talking to the manager about what I had received he conceded (after I caught him lying) the chicken was a mistake and I was refunded for that. He argued with me about the chilli beef saying there was more than 5 bits and then I was getting a mini lecture on the price of beef these days. He offered me a free meal the next time I’m in. 100% will not be claiming it. Took the meal back to the shop and all he could say (again) was the price of beef and how the chicken was his best selling dish and a customer favourite. I’m presuming these people have no eyes or taste buds. The manager was not the least bit interested in my complaint and quite frankly, if that’s how everyone is treated it won’t be long until it changes hands again.

Certainly not Chinese food, goodness knows what bland, stodgy, and lukewarm offerings in a plastic box should be called. Basic fish and chips OK, but far, far better over the road.

Hi Pete, we got on great, the food was still hot when we got back to Auchterarder. It was delicious, enjoyed every bit. I haven't had chicken balls in such a long time and they were fantastic, the salt and pepper chicken was very flavourful, and I haven't had that before. Its the simple things too, the quality of your batter is the best I've had by far, consistent and crispy, but fluffy too. Even your noodles were great - individual too, not all clumped together. Your sauces too, my favourite - couldn't decide, but they were the best I've had. You Sir, are a genius in what you do, it was worth the trip just to taste your food. Being Coeliac often means that we are limited in what we can have, the food can be bland or just boring, You - and your staff at China China have not just broken the mold, you have thrown the mold away! Thankyou for such an enjoyable meal, it's the best we've had in a very long time. If you are Coeliac, China China is the place to go to. 95% of the menu is gluten free!

No, no... no! This is such a poor excuse for Chinese food. Staff are efficient, their kitchen facilities are fantastic, their fish & chips are quite fine. How then, can the chinese food be this bad?! Honestly: the food is just slimy, tasteless slop; see the photos. The duck speaks for itself, but the pork? Such stingy, tiny sliced, ingredients. Ordered that with ribs and crispy pancakes... £32. Even uncle bens would be more edible than this expensive rubbish. I've tried for years, with all manner of variations and choices for you to get it right and 'try again'. I promise, never EVER again. What you should do is eat out at your competitors, and see for yourselves just how bad your food is.

We’ve been really disappointed with recent takeaway meals we’ve had in Perth and this was absolutely no exception. The initial service when phoning was good. However the meal then arrived and we started with hot and sour soup, apart from the fact it wasn’t hot, it wasn’t sour and it has the consistency of silage, it was forgettable. We then moved on to our mains and we had an enjoyable salt and pepper chicken and sweet and sour chicken, however, they were both cold but the chicken curry was both cold and flavourless. The egg fried rice had no egg, no flavour, no heat and didn’t resemble rice as we know it. As a treat we also bought a chip steak which tasted okay despite the fact it was not warm. Chips were soggy and a bit cold so won’t be back in a hurry which is a shame because it’s nice to support local businesses

Poor vegetarian and vegan options

£25 from china china, in perth! Im ceoliac, so gf! I havent had a Chinese in a very long time so I was super excited to finally have one. Since I haven't eaten one for many years I hadn't a clue what to order so I saw they sold a munchie box full of different items! I didn't think it would be that big! But it would definitely serve 3-4 people!! Its safe to say this is going to be eaten over two days! It contained - 6 large chicken balls - 3 large ribs - chicken strips in sauce and veg - chips - chow mein with rice noodles Amazed at the portion sizes and the price too!

Just happened to pop in to see Pete and experience his amazing hospitality and savour his famous gluten free chicken curry with fried rice and chips.... absolutely best in the country. Also OH had the black pudding and haddock Malaysian curry, Also a big hit. Wee bonus perfect timing for the Christmas lights switch on. Thank you Pete and the Gang. 🌟

Stuck in Perth train station this is 2 minutes away. Extensive menu available on line. Clean and modern premises. Really nice staff. Took food back to the station, envy of all the other stranded travellers! Food was great - special chow mein - and piping hot. Deserves 5 stars all round.

On holiday in area. First night here in our caravan so decided to get a takeaway. Fabulous! Never had black pudding in a Chinese dish before, was blown away! Service was prompt, portions were very generous and all very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back before we go

Had a delicious gluten free take out last night! I’m a coeliac and had read great reviews and was not disappointed - most dishes can be made gluten free, there’s so many options!! The young staff were extremely helpful, smiley and knowledgeable and the service was so quick. No photos of food since we ate so quickly, we had two prawn dishes, one in Szechuan sauce and one in chilli sauce, both absolutely perfect with chips and fried rice. Can’t wait to visit again and work my way through their massive menu!

Fantastic! Had a 1 and a half hour round trip to get a 3 person banquet meal. Pre-ordered it without any MSG due to an allergy in the family. Was well worth the trip and the black pudding and chicken fried rice was amazing.

Called for the disability care home I work for and told the driver wasn't doing deliveries over the bridge because of the Jubilee celebrations. Couldn't deliver to adults with disabilities because of the jubilee celebrations. What a joke.

Brilliant, clean, welcoming and plenty choice. Our food had ample flavours and pricing was reasonable.

Awful just ordered white pudding supper and single haggis. Haggis was yuk and look warm the white pudding was frozen in middle 🤮🤮🤮🤮

Stopped tonight after hearing it was meant to be good bitterly disappointed overpriced, forgot crispy noddles, food lukewarm and place looked like it needed a good clean & apparently no longer have prawn crackers available cause they are trying to reduce their plastics fair enough if everything didn’t coming in plastics tubs and plastic bags!! At £2.50 a portion maybe they were best left out tbh! Won’t be back. 👎

The best gluten free Chinese in Scotland! Feel so safe knowing that Pete knew about coeliacs, happy to say we’ve drove up 3 times since we first went! And will continue to drive for some tasty Chinese food!

First time we've ordered from China China and I'm not impressed, meal turned up but our chips were missing, although they were charged for as part of a pizza supper, I called to complain and they did offer to bring out the chips but wanted £2.50 for chips and another delivery charge, my meal was just warm so had to be re heated which I'm not keen on doing as it was a seafood satay, also 3 pieces of shell in amongst my fried rice, won't be back

I live nowhere near this takeaway...about 2.5 hours away, but I make sure any overnight trips I plan to this area include the opportunity to eat, and take home, some of Pete Chan’s excellent gluten free Chinese food. My freezer is now topped up, and the next few meals are sitting in my fridge. So good to have such amazing choice from almost all of the menu. He has worked hard to make life good for those of us with Coeliac disease as his awareness of the importance of safe prep and cooking means I eat without fear.

Disgusted at the fish suppers we were served last night. Fish was tasteless making me assume frozen, chips were nothing but disgusting, both gave the taste of being reheated at least 3 times and if not no excuse.Extremley soggy and greasy.Like to give local businesses a try and the standard in the area is very high, sadly this almost made us physically sick.

First time I have ordered from here got told it was great..ordered chicken curry fried rice..quantity was great could feed 2 but rice was very hard not very hot neither was the chicken..sadly will not be ordering again..2 stars for quantity

I had the take away King Prawn chow mein last night. First time and definitely last. It was probably the worst I have ever had.Sauce tasted like gravy browning.. Awful

My wife ordered some glutenfree and non- glutenfree meals which were posted to our house.First up I had the sweet and sour battered chicken( sauce came separately) and my wife had the vegetable curry.The food was delicious, one of the best sweet and sour chicken dishes I have ever tasted.Tonight I' ll be trying the salt and pepper crispy chicken.Can't wait.We will definitely be ordering more mouthwatering meals in future.

Amazing gf food delivered all the way to aberdeen. China China is our go to place in Perth when travelling home from Glasgow or Edinburgh. Pete the owner and his staff are so helpful and even when we’ve turned up in one of their non gf nights they’ve gone out of their way to accommodate my coeliac daughter.

Has to be the worst meal ever no taste salt pepper chips think they don’t know as was the chicken all plane would rather give them money to shut the shop than a food delivery

Me and my wife have always wanted to try China China as we know it's stellar reputation for gluten-free Chinese, and when we heard they were doing deliveries to Glasgow we jumped on it. Did not disappoint!!Fantastic food that we've frozen and eaten over the last few weeks. All was gluten free for my wife who is a coeliac. The delivery was great as they phoned before hand and were very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely order again! Thanks so much!!

Absolutely amazing food and service. I ordered a bunch of curry sauce and curries - ALL GLUTEN FREE!! And all tasted unreal, as a coeliac I’m so happy to have found this fantastic wee place. I wish I lived closer but getting delivery to Fife was so easy and well organised! Can’t wait to visit in person

This is one of the best places in Scotland to get gluten free Chinese food. The staff work so hard to not only accommodate local orders, but also offer to deliver to different parts of Scotland, so that all coeliacs can enjoy safe gluten free Chinese takeaway. Their curry sauce is out of this world! You won’t find anything more authentic and sooo flavourful! An absolutely amazing team of people, I will be a customer for life

I have been traveling to China China for two years now. I live 40 miles away so I tend to visit whenever I’m passing. The owner is so caring and loves to make people happy by cooking delicious food for them. I suffer from coeliac disease so I have to be very careful and stick to a strict gluten free diet. The owner takes gluten free cooking very seriously. He buys in special gluten free soy sauce so that he can make gluten free sweet and sour sauce. I love to order the chicken balls with sweet and sour sauce (made the gluten free way with gluten free batter). The salt and chilli chips are my absolute favourite. The banana fritters are a great treat for pudding too! I can’t wait to go back again!

My daughter is coeliac and we were very pleased with the delivery to Edinburgh last weekend. Amazing service. I look forward to being able to visit and have a sit in meal feeling safe that the gluten free is gluten free.

The only Chinese in Scotland to offer 99% of their menu in a Gluten Free alternative! Clued up staff on allergens and cross contamination. Food is safe. Food is delicious. Owner is a great guy! My hero infact! Coeliacs are welcome so make sure you visit or check them out on Facebook!

I’m a mum of a coeliac and have seen her in tears at not being able to have foods she previously loved. We heard about China China on a coeliac Facebook group and tried it out. Pete is amazing - he takes great pride and pleasure in providing delicious gluten free food and for the first time since her diagnosis we had happy tears! Absolutely delicious and cooked with passion. I can’t recommend highly enough!

I last visited in September. I ordered over the phone, was told 25 minutes so I headed off to pick up in time. Another 40 minutes on top of that I was standing around before my order was given to me. Standing around for 40 minutes I saw 6 members of staff working in the back and one girl on the counter. No one wore a mask, there was no social distancing. A customer came in (several customers came in, ordered and went when I was waiting) and while waiting for food began chatting with his friend in the kitchen. He then went through to the kitchen, no mask either. I see they are doing mass deliveries across the country, I wonder if this is allowed and if they are suitable to do this when they don't have the right measures in place in their own kitchen.

Always brilliant food and service and I don’t know of any other Chinese restaurants that makes as much effort for coeliacs. It’s a 106mile round trip for me and always well worth it

Another fantastic meal from China China and well worth the 2 hour round journey we make so I can have gluten free Chinese. The salt & pepper chicken balls were perfectly crisp. Also loved the honey chilli chicken. You would never knows they were gluten free. Hubby loves the Stornoway black pudding dishes. Just wish Perth was closer and we would use more regular

Fantastic food and service each time I’ve been! Always so impressed with the kind customer service and the inclusion of gluten free meals available! My favourite dish has to be the crispy chilli beef. Will definitely be ordering again and highly recommend!
