China Buffet in Manchester

I was surprised by this little place. Like all buffet style small places it can get busy and a small selection of dishes however, I can say the food was tasty authentic Chinese full of flavour starters and main dishes. All you can eat and try different combinations you will never be able to get in a standard restaurant. Now the restaurant has a very cafeteria feel to it and small with limited tables, hence the busy side to things. However, food wise it is worth every penny. I guess they have been stung with walk outs a couple of times so expect to pay for the food and drink before you eat. Can get a bit waiting in the queue and no flow to this as the food stands in the middle so both sides get queues. Over all it was a nice visit when you really don't really want to choose food. You can go and whatever you want Chinese wise and enjoy.

We visited two days in a row after trying it for the first time. The price for this buffet is incredible for the options and amount you can get. The food has so much flavor and is so diverse. They have all the chinese classics and so many appetizer options. The service is so quick and waitresses were quick to clear dirty plates and make sure the buffet station is full and clean. One of them even recognized us from the day before and welcomed us back. And to top it all off, the desserts section is the best way to end the visit with great fruit selection and cakes. Would 100% recommend for a night out with friends.

It’s not great, it is really small inside. There is no pathway to the foods. The staff friendly but it’s a cheap cash and grab. it is nothing compared to buffet city circa 2005-2008. I don’t know who these happy reviewers are. do manchester people not know what quality is?

Food was nice and fresh and staff were great! A little busy and cramped on Saturday, but service was still top tier.

Pretty good place! The food is very yummy but quite limited, so be prepared for repeat plates, but I didn't find it to be an issue :) Staff are friendly, atmosphere is nice! Room is quite small but honestly didn't really notice it. Bathroom stall has no door lock for men, and generally a small bathroom but wasn't an issue for me personally. Overall, a good place to eat at, at a good cost. :)

Sadly, my experiance was completely ruined by the discovery of a dark hair woven through the sauce and an egg shell in the rice.

Listen, for a buffet style restaurant, this is place is fine. However, as I went over to the buffet (specifically to get some sweet and sour chicken) I was hit with the strongest smell of sour and vinegar that pierced my nose and seemed to fully clear my sinuses. I later identified the smell coming from the sweet and sour chicken. This smell singlehandedly might have lost the 2 stars from the food and atmosphere for me, I had difficulty enjoying my food with the smell of it on my plate (it tasted alright, the smell was just putrid). However the staff were very very helpful and look out for the deep fried bananas, those where the lifesaver!

Very disappointing not much choice at all on selection food was very bland unfortunately .won't be returning.

If I could give it less than 1 I would. Absolutely appalling in ever aspect. Food, awful and very limited choices. Staff, rude! Atmosphere, literally a tiny smelly basement, you can't even push your chair back without obstructing or bumping into someone. No where to walk around the food trolley in the middle and everyone's just bumping into each other. I honestly can't not stress this enough. Do not go, you will be so disappointed. Waste of money and all came away hungry.

Went today with family. Cosy place, food was always fresh, hot and delicious. Considering the buffet area looks small, there's plenty to choose from. Everything i tried i loved. Defo found my new go to chinese buffet!

Small cafe style interior, tables very close together and very little room when walking around the food areas. Given this, it's good value for money at £12.95 per person, especially tasty we're the ribs, egg foo young, char siu pork and the selection of desserts. Service was efficient, with tables cleared immediately and the food being freshly made regularly. They also handled the unusually high number of awkward customers professionally. Toilets could do with updating.

Just opposite the great Chinese arch in Manchesters China Town. A lovely place to go and try all the different dishes of the chinese menu without having to have a full portion. Use as many plates as you wish, as long as you eat it all up. The staff are great, very friendly and super quick at taking away your empty plates so you can start your next round. The food is all hot and very tasty. We had a bit of everything from the sweetcorn soup, duck and pancakes, noodles, chips, sweet n sour chicken, beef dishes and honey pork were but a few we had. The desserts were nice different jellies, swiss rolls, and fruits. The bar had everything from tiger beer to budweiser and all sorts of spirits too.

Had a lovely experience!! I’m gluten free so I usually stress when going out for food but the staff were so lovely and they showed me exactly what was gf etc, they also brought me my own dishes out that weren’t even on the menu, so that I had more choice. Overall was a lovely time and the food was delish :))

I love coming here! Every time I am in Manchester I come here with my family. We always try to eat as much as we can and its great fun seeing if we can break our last record! I am looking forward to the next time we all go.

Brilliant atmosphere with great staff, originally in Manchester for consulate, but ended up in a buffet. 10/10 would recommend and dine again.

Wow wow wow, I was very impressed with this little place. From the second you walk in you are welcomed by the staff. The food is amazing, I especially loved the beef in blackbean sauce and the pork ribs. Place is very clean and staff are constantly cleaning the tables and taking away the dirty plates off the table. Staff are very friendly and helpful. What a gem this place is. It's a definite must if you want chinese.

A smaller buffet style, but perfectly narrowed down to everyone’s favourites from a Chinese buffet. Food is constantly fresh and kept in rotation. Great quality food too. Very surprised by how good the food was here, it really was a decent Chinese Buffet with plenty of choice and fresh food being brought out regularly. The only strange thing is that you have to ask for ice cream, I wonder what situation caused "ice cream gate"? The other dish I would recommend is the duck pancakes, which were both fresh and had good ingredients.

Came here on a whim as been in the city for a party. Wanted something asian. 15.95 bufet sounded like an amazing option. And sure it was! Nice selection of food. Very tasty. Basic drink selection tho. Staff super polite. Very happy about the visit. Mind on paying before eating and drinks. Also 5£ minimum for card payments if youll order some extra drinks. No negatives from me. Would come back again for sure!

Good Chinese food, very good value for money, all you can eat for only 13 pounds. In terms of dishes, there are different fried foods, stir-fried vegetables and Chinese meats, fried noodles and fried rice. In terms of desserts, there are canned fruits, soft ice cream, Chinese desserts, etc.

This place is awful. Situated in a basement, having to pay before eating, customers were packed like sardines in a tin, food was of a very low quality and staff who were watching you all of the time and very rude and unfriendly. Never again.

I've been dining here for many years it's always excellent value and always excellent food the price is right, it's a buffet restaurant some people don't get it so please disregard the negative reviews and try China buffet.

China Buffet is a cheap and cheerful buffet right in the centre of town. It can feel a bit regimented though with all the notices around, ‘don’t do this’ ‘leave this alone’ etc. The food is standard but tasty. Could do with more stuff to put on the ice cream though.

Stumbled (quite literally) upon this place during mamchester pride one year and now it's our go to place to eat Chinese food in Manchester. Lots of choice and always fresh. Drinks are not expensive either. We went Saturday last week and for me and my wife for food 2 beers and 2 soft drinks it was just over 40 quid. Would highly recommend.

Taking into account that it is a buffet at a cheap price for the area, you cannot expect the same quality as in a normal restaurant, but precisely because it is a buffet I was pleasantly surprised. In general the food was delicious, in fact for example the fried chicken wings were very good (juicy but crunchy), the vegetable rolls were also very good, and the fried rice, beef and sweet and sour pork were also very tasty. The food replenishment was constant and the cleaning was more than correct. The workers were very polite and attentive, the place was clean, and, I don't know if it was because it was a Monday, but I didn't expect any queues. Overall great quality-price.

Does what it says at a very reasonable price. Hard working staff keep food restocked and drinks served. It is very "buffet" styled and functional, but for the price you can't complain.

Found the buffet by chance ... The one we used to visit no longer open 😞 ... Finding this restaurant was really great ... Everything was perfect ... The choice of food is excellent, staff very attentive and the buffet was reasonably priced at 4:30 pm in the afternoon when we visited.
