Unfortunately, I didn’t really enjoy the meal I had here with my family, as most of the dishes were too spicy for my taste. The food also didn’t taste very authentic. For example, we ordered 回鍋肉, but the meat looked and tasted more like bacon. The color of the 酸辣湯 we ordered didn’t look quite right, but it tasted normal. Overall, the meal was also a bit pricey. However, the staff were very nice and welcoming.

Best chinese food in Manchester. My favorite is mapo tofu with rice. The spicy and spiciness is so good for the cuisine.

After visiting the Manchester Museum, I saw a Chinese restaurant as soon as I walked out the door, so I went to try it. As soon as I sat down, I noticed that the atmosphere was very good (noisy). The chicken is juicy and juicy, but the chicken is too thin. The sweet and sour pork is nothing special, except for the addition of water chestnuts and green beans. The golden shrimp tastes good, but the texture of the shrimp is like glass shrimp, only crispy and without the shrimp taste. The most special one is the pineapple fried rice. I saw in the picture that there was a pineapple filling some fried rice, but when it came on stage, the pineapple disappeared. Note that there is a 10% discount compared to cash.

This is a review of a Chinese restaurant called Red Chilli in Manchester. I think the food here is quite delicious. First of all, the prices are reasonable, and the portions are large. The interior decor has a strong Chinese cultural vibe, making it feel like being back home. The taste is also pretty good, and I really enjoyed it. It’s been a long time since I had black fungus, to be honest. After just coming back from Iceland where there wasn’t much food, a few of us came here and ate a lot, and I think it was really good.

The taste, service and environment are definitely the best we have ever had in Manchester, and the price is reasonable, so we ate there twice in a week. However, one thing that needs to be mentioned is that there is an obvious difference in the portions of the fried sausages in the two times. The first time (picture 1) had more lotus root slices and potato chips, but the second time did not.

1) Husband and wife’s lung slices The spicy flavor of this classic Sichuan dish is addictive, with the rich texture of beef slices and tripe, and the slight numbness of Sichuan peppercorns. Truly an unforgettable appetizer. 2) Boiled seabass fillet The boiled seabass fillets are tender and smooth, the spicy soup base is rich but not overly flavorful, and the sweetness and spiciness of the fish are perfectly combined to make you take one bite after another. 3) Roast leg of lamb The roasted lamb leg is crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and has just the right flavor with the spices, without a hint of mutton, making it irresistible. 4) Golden shrimp The golden shrimp is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The rich flavor of the salted egg yolk and the sweetness of the shrimp meat form a perfect match. Every bite is a satisfying enjoyment. 5) Fermented bean curd and vegetables The fermented fermented vegetables are rich in flavor and the fragrant fermented bean curd complements the crispy fermented vegetables. However, it might be better to reduce the salt slightly to allow the natural flavor of fermented bean curd to stand out more. 6) Peking duck The skin of Peking duck is crispy, the duck meat is tender and juicy, and it has a unique flavor when paired with sweet noodle sauce and shredded green onions. Perhaps the duck skin could be thinner to make it taste more refreshing. 7) Roast Pork Ribs The meat of the roasted pork ribs is tender and slightly charred on the outside, and the sauce just enhances the overall taste. It would be more perfect if the meat was a little more tender. 8) Boiled beef The spiciness of the boiled beef and the tenderness of the beef are well balanced, and the soup is rich but not greasy. If you can add some more vegetables, the whole dish will be richer.

great food for lunch for dinner, my favourite is the mapo tofu on the lunch time deal. the staff are friendly, one time the man gave me a free croissant hard to find parking as its on a no car zone main road in the daytime

WOW absolute one of my favourite Chinese restaurants everytime I go for gig in Manchester academy I have stop for a meal. Food is really authentic and delicious also good prices, very nice decor and good professional service. I'll definitely will be back to try all of the meals. Keep up good work. I would recommend for anyone who like proper Chinese food not westernised sweet dishes.

It was a really nice place to stumble upon when my tummy was making the rumbles . Great place to eat before a gig at the academy but beware of the farts after 🤣. Food was plenty and tasty . The staff were attentive but looked knackered . All in all. Great meal , service . As Arnie would say "I'll be back " 😘

A really good Chinese restaurant. I'm no expert, but in my opinion the restaurant offers an authentic experience of traditional Chinese dining in the UK. The menu has two sections, distinguishing Chinese dishes from Anglo-Chinese ones; furthermore, the clientele is made up of 90% Chinese. I was very satisfied with the portions, which were more than generous.

The staff were completely unprofessional with the way they handled our order. They gave us the wrong food and had the audacity to add the wrong order to our bill. The food was too salty and greasy it lacked taste. Avoid this place at all costs.

We picked this Chinese pure and simply because it was across the road from Manchester Academy where we were to watch a gig, I briefly looked at Restaurants close by and this popped up. In that way we kinda got lucky, and the only disappointment was having to rush to leave the restaurant. My wife liked it that much she reorded a dish a couple of days later for takeaway.

Me and two others went for some food. There was a huge language barrier between the servers and ourselves, and they were visibly annoyed by this. It almost felt like we were an inconvenience. Asian people were preferised and served first even after coming 15-20 minutes after us. Our orders all came in at different times and they forgot mine, I ordered the beef ramen but they brought me a prawn noodle dish and I advised I never asked for this to be met with an eye roll and a huge sigh. Others had already finished their meals when I finally got mine. Food was average, and the service was terrible.

The New Year's Eve dinner costs 188 pounds for nine people, 20 pounds per person. It's really a good deal if you come with a large number of people. If you want to eat roast duck, be sure to call in advance to make a reservation. The service is very good. There are dishes from all over the world, and they are well cooked and served. No.8 Red chill is my favorite Chinese restaurant! It boasts a distinctly Chinese decor and provides excellent service, creating an authentic and enjoyable dining experience. My favorite food:Beijing Roast Duck 👨‍🍳boneless and with crispy skin, offers a delightful combination of tender, juicy meat. Served with thin strips of green onions, cucumber, and a sweet hoisin sauce, ❤️❤️❤️it's my absolute favorite when wrapped in thin pancakes. ！！！and u can choose Chinese broth(free)which will come with pecking duck!

Service is quick and fast. Most of the staffs are friendly too. For some reason, I don’t feel the seasoning here is well authentic and balance enough, compare to the other Red Chili at Manchester China Town. Rice is also too dry and not really calling the appetite as an Asian. Atmosphere was okay, just the table is not well organize, or maybe too dark. But it didn’t bother much.

The fried cumin Lamb Ribs is a must have. The staff was very nice and helpful when he saw me panicking what to order because is lot of food look so good and don’t know what to order, he ask me the what flavour and meat I like then he recommended me this dish. An excellent restaurant with delicious food

Awful restaurant, wished I hadn't gone. Although the visual appeal of the restaurant is great, the service was terrible, rude staff, especially our waitress. Food came out after asking several times and 45 minutes after we ordered, and one of our mains was missing. The restaurant wasn't busy and there were plenty of staff stood around not doing much. Food wasn't terrible, but nothing amazing you couldn't get for half the price from your local Chinese takeaway

The food is ok nothing special. The service is really poor. We waited 45 minutes for our food to come out. Others that came after us had starters and mains and we were still waiting. Plenty of other decent places near by.

This is the first time I can think of that a restaurant has refused to serve me because of allergies - it's 'too complicated' apparently. Very unusual when most restaurants have such good allergen policies these days.

Went for lunch with a friend. The place was clearly popular with Chinese people. We had the cheap lunch deal, one aubergine and pork dish and one spicy mutton dish. Both were excellent, just the right quantity for lunch and tasty. As it was busy the service was slightly slow, but not problematically so.

Unfortunately, the food gave me a bad stomach about 40 minutes after eating it. I had pork and cabbage dumplings and onion pancake. I will take notice of food hygiene ratings in the future; it’s currently 2/5. Eek!
