absolutely gorgeous hot and melt in your mouth salt and pepper ribs

Fun meal out with colleagues. Food was excellent and it was a great decision to have one of their summer banquet menus which had several courses and loads of variety. We had duck, pork, chicken, lamb, fish and vegetable dishes and all were spot on. Didn’t try anything that I didn’t like and this was great experience for me as I tend to choose the same things when I eat Chinese. Restaurant was very busy when we arrived around 9pm so probably need to book. Service was very attentive and they were quick to bring more drinks and table water. We were last to leave and they were patient with us until around 11.30 when they advised that they were closing (Thursday night). If I am ever back in the area I’d eat here again!

Very good food which is a surprise as there are few Chinese dining here probably due to the fact that it is more expensive than many other restaurants in Manchester's Chinatown. Better to book but even then you can sit in the foyer and wait for a table whilst being ignored

The duck was dry... sometimes its better. Juicy and the color is lighter. I liked the other stuff, but only ate a little of the duck.

No sauce with 2 servings of dumplings..

Avoid if you want authentic Chinese food. The food are customized to fit the western people diet just like Panda Express but worse. Ordered 麻婆豆腐and it’s sweet and sour. Imagine how disgusting is that.

Not been here for a few years & what’s happened !?! Decor is nothing like it used to be & weird painting on the wall looks like random rolled black paint ! We were told on entry that they needed the table back in an hour & a half which we were fine with but oh my god, all the waiters were basically running around and we had our food thrown at us each course including the drinks !!! Quality of the chicken in my Cantonese chicken was poor, worse I’ve had anywhere in a long time. Would not come here again, there are far too many better Chinese restaurants in Manchester

The menu suggest every other Chinese restaurant but in here you will get the very best examples of the staple dishes you find in a British Chinese take away. The only thing that fell below their high standards was a tough pork rub in the starters. Service was also excellent. Just be careful, after dinner here your normal take away will just be a disappointment.

Recently came to this restaurant for a family meal and loved every single moment of it! The food was delicious! The atmosphere was incredible! The staff were very helpful and friendly! We had the Blooming Blossom banquet and we enjoyed every single meal that was included in it! 100% worth the money and will definitely be back when I can! Thank you Little Yang Sing!

Honestly mane, it was mid at best. After perusing the lovely streets of Manchester, my mates and I were in the mood for a cheeky Chinese. Did some Reddit research and found this place to be the spot. Unfortunately the service was bad, the food was worse, and hints of loo traveled across my snout more often than it should have. I would not recommend based on food quality and price. Don’t get the Szechuan chicken, or the bean sauce dishes.

It fine. Nothing more. We visited here yesterday during a visit to Manchester. The high Google review score is what drove us to visiting. The restaurant itself looks nice and service is fine. Food is average and is expensive for what it is. Be careful of the service charge. We were charged a 10% discretionary service charge but had no option to not pay it.

Ordered from here through Ubereats on Wednesday 28th February and it gave me the worst food poisoning of my life. Do not order from here unless you want to spend 2 days violently throwing up every hour

As a foodie with a fondness for China town in Manchester and a penchant for authentic Chinese cuisine, my experience at Little Yang Sing was a mix of highs and lows. Arriving as a solo diner on a business trip, I found myself sandwiched between two fellow solo diners. To my left, a disgruntled chap lamented about his hour-long wait without any food. However, the swift response of the manager, who promptly apologized and took action, impressed me. Opting for a selection of dim sum to start, followed by quarter crispy duck and spinach in sauce, my order arrived promptly, perhaps spurred on by the urgency created by the neighboring diner's complaint. The service, particularly from Lisa and Chris, was impeccable, with a dedicated water server ensuring my glass remained topped up throughout the meal. Reflecting on past visits, I reminisced about dining here during my university days in the late 90s when it was known as "Little Sister" or something akin. While the nostalgia was palpable, the similarity in prices to those in London left me slightly disappointed. Despite this, the overall experience at Little Yang Sing was positive, with its efficient service, delicious dishes, and a touch of nostalgia making it a place I would consider returning to, albeit with the caveat of managing expectations around pricing.

Had a birthday lunch here and the food was great. Im gluten intolerant and never thought I'd be able to eat Chinese food again, they have an extensive range that caters for my needs and it doesn't feel like a compromise. Been along time since I've enjoyed a really flavoursome meal. Our waitress was very funny

Great Chinese restaurant in the middle of Chinatown. They have an extensive vegetarian menu with so much choice. Tofu and garlic in spicy sauce was amazing. Fantastic service too. Still thinking about the salt and pepper bean curd... 😄

Had the dim sum platter with a group and it was great. I’m usually unsure about what to eat when I go to Chinese, Cantonese or East Asian restaurants more generally but I felt that that was a good choice!

Went here with a work colleague and 2 customers on Monday 12th of Feb - despite it was a Monday night, it was still busy - which is always a good sign. Food was excellent, with all 4 of us agreeing that it was the best Chinese food we had in a long time. Defo worth a visit.

App told me to collect at 6.35 I went in but it wasn't ready. Restaurant was busy, so I waiting then asked again at 6.50.

Visiting Manchester for three days and this restaurant was recommended to us before we arrived. It didn't disappoint, excellent food, attentive service. Wow what a find, can't see we'll find a better place to eat over the next two days. Please congratulate your staff on the service they provided.

Best vegetable chow mein I’ve ever had! Service was amazing too, we arrived super late and they stayed open for us and were really attentive. 10/10 recommend Portions were also big so I took home the leftovers Salt and pepper chips were a bit weird though, they were almost sugary, not bad just different.

Absolutely dire - £73 for two awful dishes and a couple of starters. Without a shadow of a doubt the worst, most over-priced meal I've ever had anywhere. In true English fashion I grinned and bore it when the plates of boiled chicken were brought out but upon seeing the extortionate bill, I couldn't / can't keep quiet.

Sorry, but it is not egg-fried rice. I have received normal boiled rice with some eggs on top. And I was charged £4.75 for it.

I’ve been many different Cantonese restaurants, this one is the worst I’ve ever had, Very bad service, serving your dish by throwing the plate to you, so we decided to pay less the service fee as it’s discretionary, they directly change there face.

We went to the Little Yang Sing for lunch on Saturday and had an excellent meal. We each chose a dim sum starter and a main course, with jasmine tea to drink. Our starters were very good as was my wife's main course of special chow mein but my beef in black bean sauce was exceptionally tender and delicious. I might go back specifically to have it again. Service was efficient, not intrusive and our food was servied quickly. Higly recommended!

This place was a sad disappointment for us. The starter and main were a small portion size, and the service was slow; when we complained about the slow service, we were met with aggression. Worse still was the astronomical price and the 10% service charge that ... Because we had enough, we just paid so we could leave. Wouldn't recommend and won't be going back.

Downstairs to a lovely welcome with the door held open. Shown to a booth mid afternoon as the place filled up. Decent choice of wine, went for a white Rioja. Lovely, knowledgeable service. Shared 4 Dim Sum. Best were Thai fish cakes and shredded duck. Scallop dumpling also good, beef not; was like cheap burger meat rather than beef. Excellent soft noodles. All in all, a good experience. BTW interested to read a previous review having a go at this place after having “visited Little Yang Sing many times over the last 20 years” but couldn’t be bothered writing them a positive review in all that time. Mmm ….

Don’t order takeout from this restaurant. They take no responsibility for the delivery of their food. Should love to say the food was good! However, they don’t hold their delivery company accountable for failing to deliver a £45 order and when it is delivered to the wrong hotel they don’t want to do anything to resolve the issue. Don’t order from here.

Ordered through just eat this evening after reading amazing reviews Our order was delivered to another Marriott hotel around 1.5km from us despite us putting the address and postcode in. We suspected this happened and called the other hotel who confirmed this happened. Tried to call the driver who cancelled the call. Called the restaurant and they were extremely unhelpful and said it was just eat we should deal with. £45 and no food Don’t use companies like just eat if you don’t want to take any responsibility for them!

Loved the food. This photo doesn't do justice to be honest. Also couldn't get a photo of the dimsums as we devoured it soon as it arrived. Highly recommend you visit the place for some dimsums and chowmein among other delicacies.

Booked a table short notice after swimming and a couple of pints. Fancied dim sum. It was delicious. Five of us with varying tastes and one vegetarian. Fresh, tasty and beautifully seasoned. Very good service.

Disappointed. Came with my gf for dim sum mainly. Each dim sum (3 dumplings each) costs £6.75, so we had to order extra food to be full. Siu mai dumplings were delicious. Service was pretty much awful. One server was rude, had a negative attitude. Another was clearly new although I understand this so not really a complaint. Another would grab food from between us mid conversation without warning. Then to top it off, the male manager was rude and sarcastic when I had an issue with the bill as I asked for a second cup for the pot of tea (£1.95) my gf had ordered and then tried to charge me (£1.50) for the cup as counts as tea for two persons. But it was only a cup and no extra tea so essentially it is the same product but just an extra cup that they will reuse anyway… Food was average except for the siu mai, way too expensive even for city centre, the quality could be better. Atmosphere was great.

We have visited Little Yang Sing many times over the last 20 years and it has always stood out in the quality of its food, presentation and service but my oh my how this place has plummeted!! As there were four of us we opted for the banquet . The starters were nothing exciting and minimal but the mains were absolute rubbish ! Unidentifiable meat in gloopy sauces laden with levels of saltiness that made some of them impossible to eat and what was on the menu as fillet steak presenting as a burnt sausage with a dubious mixture inside ! Our regret is that we subjected our dear friends to this shambles of a once brilliant restaurant but we have certainly walked down the stairs of the little yang sing for the very last time !!!

My daughter held her 40th birthday here and it was wonderful. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful with all the party arrangements which made for a great afternoon. The food is gorgeous and the service is fab..we had the best time with help from Little Yang Sing so a huge thank you from us all.

Most of the meal was cold when it arrived and what wasn't cold was luke warm, shame because usually everything from here is perfect this is my go to place.

Disgusting behaviour displayed by staff. We came to get some custard buns but was turned away at the door. Even though there was a table available they said we couldnt get it if we were only there for the custard buns (btw they come under the main menu as dimsums). I believe there was some racism involved there. I have never been treated this way and I am appauld at such behaviour. I would not recommend this place. Doesn't even deserve one star as we didn't get to try anything.

Having eaten here before several times, i was very disappointed when I placed an order through Uber Eats. The delivery drive threw our order randomly at a street corner far from our address and took a picture whilst refusing to fully deliver the order. I called the restaurant and was completely dismissed, almost a smug brushing off attempt to get me off the phone. Very bad service and not willing to help put the situation right. I’m really off out from this place. Plenty of other Chinese restaurants and a little less steep on prices especially if only ordering as a takeaway. Just something for potential customers to think about

This is a loud venue, shouting and chanting from several large tables of mixed guests. Not great after business meetings or for an elegant evening out. Its obvious that care for customers is less important to the female manager and the owner is often present. Great choices of food but the quality is better when the kitchen isnt busy.

Food was good and the place is big enough to allow walk-ins. P.s: Try the fried ice cream if you haven’t.

Visited for my son's birthday. Isn't as I remember the restaurant many years ago but well worth the visit. The atmosphere was ok but could do with more Chinese/Vietnamese music playing to add to the ambience.

Always great! We called in for dim sum after a disastrous meal somewhere else and it always hits the spot. The lettuce wraps were delicious.

The S&P chicken wings tasted disgusting. The rest of the food was okay but not worth the money, apart from the sweet and sour sauce which was 10/10!
