Great food, selection of drinks and even better service. The eat in set menu (for 2 or more) is excellent value for money. Suits any type of party of various sizes. They also have their own app where you can order your food and choose a collection time for takeaways

Absolutely amazing Chinese food. We had Black bean beef, Vegetarian Chicken Kung Po, Beansprout and Onion Chow Mein and they were absolutely delicious. I was particularly impressed by the Vegetarian Chicken, it tasted amazing and the sauce was incredible. The restaurant is very cozy, staff are friendly and the service is fast. We will definitely be back soon!

Have been many times before but tonight was not so good. So many people at the bar drinking and shouting not good for a nice meal out . Air conditioning on too cold my side was cold all evening even window blinds were moving . Food was good but coffee not so. My husband received his only lukewarm then mine came at least 5 minutes after also lukewarm . They didn't charge for that. Maybe Friday is not a good night !

Great food, exceptional service !

I ordered the sweet & sour chicken balls and when I got home I actually audibly laughed. You get 12 balls and this ridiculously tiny pot of sauce, like the size pot you get of sweet chilli for a spring roll starter for example! To put it into context, there was enough sauce for 5 out of 12 chicken balls… and no one likes a dry ball so the rest went uneaten. The rest of the food was extremely average too, and the takeaway wait time is long… so the 2 stars is out of kindness 🥴 We won’t be back!

Worst service I have every received at a restaurant...!!! If you are a black person I strongly recommend not going to this restaurant. Sat in the restaurant for over one hour and everyone else who came after me was served. After waiting for more than an hour, I inquired why is it that those who came after I did is being served I was them told it is being prepared...WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!! DON'T VISIT!!!!

We took my dad recently and had a really lovely evening. The set menu is perfect we were worried we wouldn’t eat it all, but there was no rush so it felt really chilled. Everything we ate was perfect .

The food is traditional 'English' Chinese food. Good portions, friendly service, which gets a bit spotty when they're busy, just like every other restaurant. Try it, I think you'd be happy.

We came to visit some friends from university in Aylesbury and have come to visit this place consecutively for two days. We did takeaway last night and the takeaway is indeed pretty long wait, i think their business is very good, lots of people and delivery drivers were waiting. But hey at least we had hot food, and it was tasty enough. So we went back this afternoon, to our surprise they only serve buffet and we tried it. Their chinese offerings are very westernized, but it is all good. Egg fried rice was done just right on the texture, the ribs and salted pepper prawns are very fresh and juicy, quite like the chicken balls they were quite a delight to eat considering the fact we are from Asia and not really something we see or eat often in that part of the world. Buffet offering is quite reasonable at 16 quid for this spread, unfortunately i guess we wouldnt have the chance for ala carte dining there, would like to see for ourselves if their service was that awful as per others written.

Really disappointing experience. I have an intolerance to MSG and rang and emailed ahead. I was assured they could make fresh if I told them at the ordering stage. I was assured the dishes I had asked for could be made only to be told after the starter, that all dishes had MSG and they couldn’t make anything fresh! Left after only the starter and was unwell for two days! Really glad I don’t have a nut allergy as they don’t seem to care at all.

Always a great meal at China Brasserie. Best Chinese restaurant in Aylesbury by far! Great veggie options if you like mock meat. They have veggie versions of most popular dishes which is great. Some of the highlights include the mock spare ribs, mock satay chicken and on request you can get the Malaysian style Ho-fun or rice made for vegetarians (without meat or seafood), well worth a try!

We ate steamed seabass at China Brassiere, Aylesbury (on their recommendation) which took a good 30/40mins to be served, but when was being deboned on our table, there was still blood flowing on the centre bone. There were two people serving us the fish (a gentleman deboning and the lady overseeing behind us). We did ask if it was fine to eat like this and we were assured it was. I was the only person eating the fish (which we spent £30 just for the seabass)…. when we got back, i started womiting after midnight as the seabass was not cooked properly. Clean restaurant Staff were friendly and helpful The food was cooked beautifully we had a variety of dishes between 4 people. The prawn crackers to start and the wipes to end were a lovely touch. A little over priced but was a lovely experience.

Booked on the day which was great. Food was really nice and hot when it arrived at the table. The restaurant was busy so felt a little slow to order but I think that was down to several large tables. I do think its pricy for a Chinese but still tasty.

Great vegetarian options, love the mock satay chicken and mock crispy duck. Frequently have take away, and have also enjoyed eating in. If ordering Sun-Thurs usually very quick, collection time usually about 20mins after ordering. Fri/Sat often a lot busier and longer wait.

No point ordering a takeaway. They tell you to arrive in 30-45 minutes, you turn up, pay and wait another 45 minutes. This has happened every time I have ordered a takeaway and the order has been wrong twice. Avoid!!

We rarely order from China brassiere but they never fail to disappoint. Tell you a time for food collection but start making it when you get there so you still wait 30/40 mins on top of the initial wait. Today my partner almost walked out as it took over an hour for a side of chicken and they gave us prawns instead. Poor service the food is not good I'd save your pennies and go to lakeside or double eight. STAY AWAY

Brightly lit restaurant with no ambience. Cheek by jowl with other diners as squeezed into one half of restaurant for servers' convenience. Mains took so long we left after paying for what we had already received and eaten. Takeaway customers were also waiting a long time.

For a take away, forget it. Wait is over an hour when you call, then when you get there you have to wait another 45 mins. If you want to try it, don’t pay until your order comes out…

Arrived at this place, pushed our way through a mass of disgruntled takeaway customers moaning about their wait for food ( should have left at this point). Got seated & ordered. First two courses arrived mediocre food & service for a hefty price tag. We then sat and waited, and waited, and waited for mains for 50 minutes ( We were entertained to some degree by the queue of unhappy takeaway customers). However, got bored with this at the 55 minute point, so despite two different staff members assuring me that food was coming ( plus offer of free drinks, always a sign of desperation in a restaurant) decide to pay the exorbitant price & left. To sum up: Restaurant with the ambience of a train station (tables all squeezed into half the restaurant for the convenience of the staff), queues of punters waiting for takeaways, dinners waiting for foo, terrible service, mediocre expensive food ( when & if it turns up), awful ambience. This place exists for only one reason to make £££ at the expense of good service, quality food & a good atmosphere. Size of the kitchen dictates the number of covers & takeaway customers you can serve not the amount of money you can get through the till.

Stopped here for lunch as I was in the area. What a lovely experience. The space was light and airy with attractive furniture and decor. Service was excellent and the food delicious- as well as my favourite hot and sour soup, I had a duck and spring onion wrap which was beautifully prepared and cooked. There were a few other diners who were obviously regulars. I will definitely be back.

Every time I place an order here, I’m reminded of why I shouldn’t place an order here. The past few months we’ve been driving out of Fairford Leys and into town to collect our Chinese from elsewhere. We thought we’d give this place a go again after this new fancy app was supposed to cut the silly waiting times. Went in to collect my order this evening, that I ordered on the app. When I got there the 2 girls had no idea about my order. I told them I’d ordered via the app, to which they then switched the machine on and multiple tickets came out. So, my order hadn’t been made, despite me arriving at the time I had selected on the app. She said it would be 10 minutes, which was annoying, although I was happy to wait 10. After waiting outside for 25 minutes I went in to ask if it was ready, to which she said it wasn’t- so I just requested a refund so I can go and get our food from elsewhere. Instead of apologising, the girl (young, full face of makeup, nike jumper) told me that I shouldn’t have ordered on the app because the owner of wasn’t there. Excuse me? Instead of apologising for the poor service you come back with a silly comment. There was absolutely no alert on the app that you were unable to place orders, I managed to put my order through and select a slot- so to me, you are accepting orders on the app. I won’t bother with this restaurant again now, I’ve attempted it multiple times and it’s a let down every time. Plus, I’d rather avoid the rude, unhelpful and sarcy staff and go to a restaurant that appreciates my business. I’m glad the other restaurants in Fairford Leys do not reflect the same way this one does.

The service was amazing. We were seated straight away, attended to straight away and the staff were friendly. We were mainly served by a lovely lady who was patient, kind and very smiley. The food was amazing and the portions were huge! This is definitely one of the best meals I have had in a while.

They keep upping there prices..they actually upped the 2nd price hike around the same time they received one star for hygiene ratings which is unbelievable. A main an rice now for one person is touching £15 now up from there already expensive £12 (other places £10 at that same time)

Our party of six visited on a Tuesday evening. We had requested to be seated at the table with the rotating top and this is ideal when you have a largish party. The food could not be faulted with a very wide variety of choice and the staff were attentive but not over bearing. An ideal venue for a mid week celebration with the restaurant not over crowded.

Pretty bad. Went here as visiting a friend in Aylesbury. After the starters came they totally forget our mains and only brought them out after my friend went to the bar to ask. One hour wait between starters and main is a joke. We were the first table in and noticed several tables had finished their meal long before we got our main course. When the food finally came they threw it on the table with no care. They got one main dish totally wrong. My sea spiced prawn dish was totally bland and nowhere near as good as the same dish my local one near Cambridge serves. It didn’t have any of the flavours advertised that you would associate with a Sea spiced dish. The waitress had the cheek to ask for a tip when we were paying at the end despite the shocking service….

So we booked this restaurant as we know historically it could be very busy especially on weekends. However, it was empty, and not sure if this is down to the bad reviews on here or the fact that their takeaway business is much stronger since COVID started?! In any scenario, I am always interested to read the reviews from other diners and what fascinated me is that most mention the food is great but only give a 2/5 rating which seems harsh given that the food is the star of the show! As for moaning about the time it takes for your takeaway to be cooked, if it’s being freshly made, would you sooner it was just microwaved?! Anyway, daft reviews aside, our experience has always been good here. We chose the special meal deal which was £26.60 each, and a minimum of 2 people have to eat it. I thought this was expensive at first until you realise you get 5 mini starters each, a quarter duck with pancakes to share and then a choice of main course with rice (& they are pretty flexible on this to make sure you get something you like, so we switched to steamed rice instead of egg fried rice). In terms of food quantity, that was like two meals in one. The two male servers were very friendly and interactive with the few tables dining. They also brought out the food at logically spaced intervals to allow some breathing space between courses which worked perfectly for us. Our main courses were simple but tasty including my Kung Po king prawns which were cooked just right. Including a couple of oriental beers and a tip, our bill came to £70 for 2 people which for a very filling and tasty three savoury course meal seems reasonable in the current climate of inflation. Our experience was very pleasant all around. I should add that the prices in the restaurant are higher than on the takeaway menu so you would benefit from slightly cheaper prices if you arrange a takeaway, especially if you collect. And for those moaning about having to wait for their collection, I suggest you do what I do on arrival which is to grab a drink at the bar and relax! And if you’re that hungry, order your food a bit earlier 😂👌 All in all, a pleasant local Chinese for a sit down meal.

Had lunch with friends. Food ok. Some good, some not so good. Service was disengaged and sporadic. Noticed the main server had filthy clothes on: stains on black shirt and stains on trousers all over. Not very appetising. Odd to see this at beginning of service. Wonder if clothes were put on dirty? Narrow space between tables and waiter using window sill to deposit wine glasses. Meant he had to nudge by the gap in table, hence why being able to see incredibly close up the state of the clothing. Wonder how clean every where else is? Dined in, food OK, but staff were not friendly. Subsequent to this, I have had 2 takeaways - again food was OK, however the first time they forgot an item that was paid for, and on the second occasion a wrong dish was supplied. I have no plans to return, unless there is another charge of ownership.

I would like to note that we have used this place since they opened and have been going back for many years. We booked the restaurant for NYE. When we booked the girl on the phone said she could only offer a table at 8:30pm this was fine. We turned up at 8.25 was left waiting outside for 10 minutes. When inside it was evident the place was full and there were a lot of people waiting for take out. There was a man getting rather frustrated as they told him they had lost his order he had to sit and wait whilst they found it. (We later noticed him waiting over an hour later). The waitress looked worried when we said we had a table booked I think they had made a mistake and given our table to a couple. After 15 minutes of further waiting we were eventually seated at 8:50pm. No one came to take any drink order from us for a further 20 minutes and then we eventually could order 35 minutes after taking our seats. My husbands food and my friends food was delivered yet I was told I would need to wait another 40 minutes for mine?! I asked why when it was a simply stir fried dish and the manager told me because I had to wait and that was that. Bemused by the way he spoke to me I asked for him to prioritise my order because the rest of my party had already finished. He basically told me tough. It wasn’t until I spoke to another waiter who I must say was outstanding with the public that my food was rushed through. Within 10 minutes my food was with us. We were never offered more drinks so had 1 drink for the entire time we were there. Midway through the meal half of the waiting staff appeared to leave and go home (the restaurant was still 80% full). The management of this place is poor and he has zero customer service skills. When I asked him if he cared about how he had treated us he bluntly said “I don’t care”. He has successfully lost my business and my friends and I hate to give poor reviews as I understand how valuable google reviews can be but due to the service levels of this manager/owner I have to be honest for future customers. The saving grace of this is that the food as ever was outstanding. Just a very sloppy and disappointing service delivery from what used to be one of the best restaurants in town for service. Rang for collection told hour and a quarter but it took 2 hours even after the hour and a quarter took payment and still sat there for nearly an hour if they would off said I'd of gone elsewhere no communication once the've got your money stuff you you can wait won't fall for that again trying other places now

Good food. A little eager to clear your plates even though you are still eating. Perhaps this was a one off. However the food was above average for a Chinese Resturant.

Ordered takeaway was told 40 minutes wait, got order 1 hour later.

After ordering a take away that cost nearly £50 the result was very poor. Upon getting home in Tring the bag was opened and noticed the order was wrong straight away. The quality of the food was poor. Curry sauce was tasteless as well as the lemon chicken. I am the kind of person who will eat the food not to waste it. But more than half of the take away was left un eaten. When this restaurant first opened the food was very good. After this experience i cannot see myself going back for a long time if at all.

Went on 26th November to celebrate my husband's and son's birthday. 7 adults 4 children. Absolutely appalling service. Not the waitresses fault but the kitchen and Manager. They were more interested in serving the many takeaways rather than the clients in the restaurant. Waited hours for our meals which when we eventually got them were fine but most defo won't be visiting again. Bad management without a doubt.

We ordered bean curd in black bean sauce and the sauce was watery and tasted of nothing. My partner had the sweet and sour sauce which came in a tiny cup and was not sufficient to go with the food. We complained but were ignored. Sadly, we will not visit again.

Cosy Chinese restaurant, well located and easy to find. Food was freshly served, got to taste some free samples of food. Beef chow mein and chicken chow mein were delicious and not overpriced. Grilled dumplings were also perfect. Will definitely come back.

It's a lovely busy place with very nice staff and great food. They prepare the perfect amount to be able to try different dishes without being completely full but perfect. Taste is good. We ordered all vegetarian options and really good. It didn't take very long for food to get ready. Prices are fair, everything was clean and tidy. Very client oriented as someone was celebrating his/her birthday and they played the song to wish happy birthday. The only weird thing is that we ordered also a king prawns in oyster chilli sauce and for some reason they couldn't cook it saying that the cook was ill and wouldn't be able to cook it but I changed for king prawns with sweet and sour chilli sauce and they could so I don't know if really they didn't have some ingredient and didn't want to say it. It's fine to say if that's the case. Everyone should understand it can happen. Otherwise all fine. Very recommended.

VERY RUDE STAFF., TO BE PRECISE ONE & THE ONLY WAITER THERE who was attending our table of 8 on my 40th birthday ! He was the older staff there Į guess. It was our first time having a dinner there . Some of us with fluent english , others with bacis english , but we couldn understand him, and He was rude and arogant , He was literaly throawing plates on ir table , which was unecaptable at all ! He did a mistake while ordering and bringing apetisers and main dish (2 of them) at the same time and He blamed us for it and said its our problem. Completely wrong behaviour . Į was working my self at few diferent countries and restaurants and its the last thing you can tell to the costumer. Yes there was a very long gap between apetisers and main dish, they were having lots of take always during that time . Unpleasant atmosphere without any music. Went in for dinner in a small group. Service was slow and rude. Other tables were all getting their food while we had to wait. Had to wait at least 90 minutes for the main before giving up on it and just going to McDonald's instead. Not going back again

The food quality is excellent but their service lets them down because they take more orders than their kitchen can cope with- and compromise the customer experience. Sunday 19th June, case in point, by 8pm their kitchen is not coping so they have a lot of customers waiting at the door for food but they keep taking orders. They told me my order would be an hour, 90 minutes later they come to tell me that one of my dishes is not available while I waiting to collect. I ask them to swap it for a slightly more expensive dish and am immediately asked to pay the difference. Surely that would have been an opportunity to show some good will. For the sake of £4, they have lost a regular and generous customer.

Food was excellent, ready within the quoted time and staff was friendly. Nice touch with the complementary prawn crackers as it was not available on my previous 2 visits. Only thing I would recommend is to offer chilli oil additionally as we prefer the food really hot/spicy 🔥🔥🔥

Layout was awful, really cramped and we were wedged in the corner. It took so long to be given a menu and a long wait for the bill. The food was nice.

As always, this restaurant never fails to disappoint. Another take away ordered and enjoyed. There is no better Chinese take away in and around Aylesbury. The others are pretty well below par to awful. This is why China Brasserie has a long wait on Fridays and at weekends. Expect a long wait then for quality food.
