Amazing food!! Ate here a few months ago and have not stopped thinking about what I had since then. Highly recommend the fish and milk teas. Fish was the star of the show, I would eat that every week if I could!

Booked a table for 6pm,we were served quickly and efficiently.I had the sweet and chilli chicken with egg fried rice,absolutely delicious.My friend had Malaysian chicken curry and egg fried rice.Restuarant was busy but plenty staff.First visit but will return.Food is reasonably priced too.

Just visited China Blue for the first time. The staff were very friendly and the food was ok. The establishment itself was clean and pleasent. Now the bad. Me and my partner ordered a chicken curry each and an egg fried rice each with a portion of salt and chilli chips to share and an Irn bru each. The portion size that was brought to our table was pathetic. Not sure why but the egg fried rice was £3.80 per portion so £7.60 all in and what they brought was a little wooden bowl with about 5 spoonfulls of rice inside. Couldnt believe it so couldnt eat all the curry we had since you generally have rice to compliment the curry but there just wasnt enough. Very very dissapointed, wont return and wouldnt recommend if you are feeling hungry. We had to nip to KFC next door for a chicken burger to fill us up afterwards. Not £50 well spent.

Nice quality and delicious food .

Went for mid week lunch with the kids. Nice friendly welcome. Good menu. Lots of Asians eating here so knew if would be good. Wasn't disappointed. Lovely big spring rolls for starters and the chicken curry was lovely too. The kids loved what they had too. Good prices. Definitely be back and would recommend to anyone.

Worth the trip upstairs to a cozy place in Glasgow. Discover this hidden gem and enjoy the great food. I wish the noodles were a bigger portion, that the dumplings were not an odd number for a couple to share, that the girl had brought more chili oil like I asked and the service was more organized, but other than that, the flavor was excellent. It was a perfect experience.

After checking the reviews online I decided to book here for my son's 30th birthday. I was amazed at the choice on the menu. It wasn't long before the restaurant started to get busy with a nice atmosphere. We all ordered different dishes and the food was perfectly cooked and delicious. The curry sauce and the satay sauce was different from what I had tasted before more home made and delicious. The staff were very pleasant, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. I had obviously made a good choice as my family all enjoyed their food. Thank you for making my sons special birthday a memorable one. 🌟

Reasonably priced food. Authentic Chinese food! I know this is random but we always love to order the Thai style crispy chicken dish there it’s awesome! 4 main dishes with rice and tea for only 18£ per pax (5 of us ate together) and food was good portion too!

An unpleasant dining experience due to the server forbidding me from bringing my own beverage. According to an investigation, this violates the Consumer Rights Protection Law and is considered illegal. The incident occurred while I was shopping and bought a cup of milk tea, which I had not finished before my meal. When I ordered at the restaurant, I was told that I could not bring the milk tea inside, and they demanded that I leave it at the front desk. I hope this illegal practice can be improved.

Don't be put off by the entrance which is up a flight of stairs. The food is excellent best Chinese food I've had. Staff are wonderful very friendly and helpful. Lovely calm atmosphere. Toilets are up another flight of stairs and could do with a refurb.

This place is amazing we have been so many times with our family and just as a couple staff so friendly and nothing is a bother had a great meal for 2 last nite would defo recommend this place a hidden gem some staff been the same for years so that is also a good.

A very drab entrance hides an even drabber restaurant but dont let that put you off visiting as the food makes up for it. Always busy with local Chinese and very pleasant and helpful staff. They have an excellent 2/3 course pre-theatre for £17 with a great selection of dishes. Toilets are upstairs with no obvious disabled access so if you are in a wheelchair best to phone ahead. If they gave thus place a make over they would rake it in but all the diners always seem content so maybe not!!

Delicious authentic Chinese food with an excellent service in a a very quaint setting. Food is rich in flavors and good sized portions. Very good value for money. Definitely recommend and will return on our next visit to Glasgow.

Traveling with work you often have to take a risk on the unknown. This was one of those risks that really paid off. Mid week it was fairly quiet so not buzzing but that didn't matter. The service was good and the staff attentive. I did feel a little pre judged when before we sat the chop sticks where whisked away only for me to then have to ask for some. But that's a tiny grumble and was more than made up for by the excellent food. We shared a starter and only had one serving of rice but that was enough as the main course was large enough to satisfy without being too much. I have and will recommend China blue to any colleague traveling to Glasgow.

Glad we found this wee place! Food was excellent and the staff were amazing....very polite and welcoming. Prices were really decent too! Didn't overcrowd you, or rush you out! My only downfall is the stairs, as I am disabled and use a stick...but will definitely be back 😋🤤

Hadn’t managed to visit here for around 4 years. So glad we had the opportunity to go back! The service is outstanding. So many polite, friendly and knowledgeable staff that each interaction was brilliant. Special mention to Cindy. You are such a lovely person, you welcomed us in like family and took such care of us it was much appreciated. The food is incredible. A huge menu catering for those who like traditional Chinese food, British style and just want some light bites. Pre theatre menu available. All our food was hit, fresh and tasty. Cannot wait to be in Glasgow again! Thanks to you all :-)

Delicious and authentic Chinese food in Glasgow area. Came back again after our first visit. We especially like the 梅菜扣肉 (pork with salted vegetable) which was marinated well and not too salty. The roasted duck 烧鸭 was good too, although it was sold out when we came the first time. The service staff were also very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for Chinese food in central Glasgow.

(Update 2024-05: Beware dishes labelled with a green (V) may not actually be vegetarian when served, especially when you have a table of meat and non meat eaters. Manager gave the excuse of “do any of you not eat meat” and “you should have let us know when you ordered”, though eventually apologised and gave us half price off that one dish.) Was here for dinner with relatives on a Sunday evening. Not the most fancy atmosphere, but appeared cleanish. Food wise, so far this is one of the best in the city centre and I can't believe I've gone past it so many times without giving the place a thought, the entrance is so unassuming. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor, you do need to climb a flight of stairs to reach the place. Would recommend the Tofu with Chinese Leaf & Glass Noodles (146), which they apparently use their own egg tofu. The sauce for the Mixed Vegetables with Malaysian Curry (224) was out-of-this-world, but I wasn't much of a fan with the vegetables used (my relatives liked them though). We did find the side portion of stir fried noodles far too salty, though this was the only downfall for the food. They did get one of our orders wrong (despite naming it and pointing it at the menu when ordering) and later claimed not to be in a position to correct it. Whatever arrived looked nice and a lot cheaper so we just let it go. Service was friendly, helpful, but a little clumsy.

Best Chinese food ever had. Service spot on, very reasonable priced. Good selection of wine with lovely glasses. We had Singapore chow main, honey chilli chicken and sizzling Fillet beef. Gorgeous

What an amazing experience coming here. We got such a warm welcome, and every member of the team were so friendly. It was clear that they were all 100% committed to ensuring each person had a wonderful meal. in lovely surroundings. My husband and I enjoyed a delicious meal, and it was lovey to see white cloths on all the tables. It was a real joy to go there. It was busy too, as on Saturday night, but the staff were so welcoming to everyone, and so attentive. We recommend this restaurant, as top notch!

This is place is a hidden gem it’s great Chinese would defo recommend being lots of times and we go for family birthdays they go out of way to accommodate it was my husbands birthday and I said and they brought out a cake and it was really nice will defo be back

4 of us visiting Glasgow had dinner here. Just randomly picked it as we walked passed. Just a door on the street, with the dining are upstair. A traditional feel to a Chinese resteraunt, with very helpful staff, who knew the menu well. All 4 of us enjoyed our meals and had a drink each too and it was averaged out at under £30 each. Well worth a visit.

We saw that China blue on Tripadvisor was number two out of best Chinese restaurants. After a long train journey we wanted lunch. With friendly so welcoming, the atmosphere was beautiful and the restaurant was busy . We chose scallops starter they had to be the best scallops I’ve ever tasted . The food was genius superb and amazing.. the staff chatty and friendly and genuinely wanted to know, was everything okay. We will return again, next time we are in Glasgow Thank you, China, blue

First review I ever ever done but I feel this is well deserved . Our of Family of 3 went in and got a very warm welcome and taken to our table . Great waiter/waitress service.food came out and looked good and well presented in a dried noodle bowl and on plates.but when I tasted my food I can honestly say it is by far THE BEST CHINESE RESTAURANT I have ever eaten in so much so that I probably won't eat a Chinese meal again untill I'm back in Glasgow next October .I meet the chef and gave him my compliment lovely man and him nd waiter started chatting to us about ireland 🇮🇪 as we are irish. Top class food top class service .I'd highly recommend this restaurant.

My partner and I visited for the first time yesterday, we were very happy with the service received and quality of the food served. Lovely warm welcome, and nice atmosphere. Small touches we liked were real linen napkins and nice wine glasses. Food was delicious,well presented and we'll definitely be back. Would definitely recommend.

Endeavouring to try out some different restaurants..and maybe being subconsciously aware of the Lunar New Yesr it was time for some Cantonese food. Enter China Blue.....up an inauspicious looking stair off Renfield St. The restaurant is a pleasant and quite cosy room...tables nicely decked...pleased to see tablecloths which, for me, immediately elevate any restaurant. Relaxed and friendly service was the order of the day and we ate from the lunch menu. Good spare ribs then Kung Po King Prawn for TT were both good ( main course was a better portion than the ribs)...TT Junior went for Sweet and Sour King Prawn after a pretty jumbo-sized Spring Roll ( she was struggling to eat it all in the end...ha ha..cue TT stepping in to polish it all off!). Good fried rice in a good sized helping... lovely big pot of jasmine tea ( bargain of the whole menu I'd say). No nonsense place with good food. TT recommends and will go back. Maybe tidy up the stairs a bit??

We ate here on the 3rd Feb. I hadn't been here before and when I arrived I thought it looked a bit drab..I did notice that there were a number of Asians eating there which is usually a good sign. The menu was very extensive and interesting. The service was amazing and the food was faultless. We had a range of dishes and they were all brilliant. We will be coming back.

Can’t rate this place enough. Food was amazing and the staff were brilliant so attentive. It was my daughters birthday and all the staff turned out to sing to her as her cake was brought out such lovely touch. Amazing value for money .. can’t wait to go back!

Been coming to China Blue for a long, long time, with the missus, family and friends. I've never had a bad meal or experience in the place. I'm not an adventurous eater(I know what I like and happy with that, usually), but I can honestly say this is probably the only place where I'll voluntarily order something I've never tasted before. Staff are attentive and pleasant without being intrusive. Only a couple of gripes, it's not open later and a bit cold sometimes (but not uncomfortably so). The food is stunning!

My personal favourite in Glasgow city centre. The chow mein is the best in Glasgow!!

Absolute madness. Phoned for a takeaway, 1 curry with fried rice - shop wanted £20.20. Never have I seen a takeaway anywhere expecting £20 for 1 chicken curry with rice.

reurned to china blue after a few years away..what a great choice .I had no booking but the waiter laid a new table for us. Our meal was truly excellent and I was guide through the a la carte by the lovely lady manager..choosed the monkfish with ginger and garlic , it was exceptional my wife chose from the pre thatre and was delighted with her choices.But the best thing was the servers and manager ,itwas like stepping into your mothers kitchen, all the staff in the restaurant stopped to talk and asked about our meal.I was very happy that it didnt have too many tables and the majority of the diners were Chinese..good sign. l would return to this restaurant at the drop of a hat.. keep up the good work

I must say, they have a strict policy against bringing your own drinks. As for the dining experience, the food is delightful, but the ambiance leaves much to be desired. The floorboards are rather creaky, and even a passerby can make your table feel like a mini earthquake.

Great quality vegetarian options. The tofu is truly excellent. The staff are very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them.

Egg Fried rice was nice and the spicy chicken (honey and chilli) was very good too. The curry sauce however was dreadful. Had a weird smokey BBQ taste and was very watery. Possibly the worst curry sauce I've ever had. Ended up eating the rice dry; lucking it was high quality enough to stand alone. Wait for takeaway was long. Ordered 12 mins in advance and still ended up waiting 15 mins. They also don't have a dedicated waiting area and seem to be more of a sit down restaurant. This resulted in me waiting at a table in the dining area which was awkward for me and probably the dinners and staff. Also to access requires walking up several flights of stairs so it is not wheelchair accessible at all. Last thing, I found the man who answered my phone call a bit rude and short. Not great overall.

Before heading to the famous King Tuts my friend and I decided to go for dinner and went for this place as it is well known in Glasgow . Overall this was a brilliant choice . The decor is really nice with a good atmosphere....

Working in Glasgow we visited blue china and I can honestly say it was brilliant we didn’t book a table and when we walked in didn’t think we would get a table was very busy!! But the staff couldn’t do enough and soon had us sat down the meal was perfect hot very tasty and fresh will def go back when ever we return thanks blue china 🙏👍🏻

Hidden gem of a restaurant, entrance looks a bit shabby however restaurant is spotlessly clean, staff are very welcoming and nothing is a bother. This is our 4th time eating here and have absolutely no complaints, will definately return.

Had a lovely lunch with my sister , food was pretty good and decent size portions . Didn't have any cranberry juice ( my fav ) and a bottle of water was 3 quid , charges may reflect it's located in the city centre we would definitely go back

We faccied some Chinese food after a day out in the city so we Googled for restaurants near our hotel and China Blue was one of the search results. Having read some of the reviews we decided to book a table, we opted for the pre-theatre menu as it looked like good value. On arrival it is just a doorway on the street and then stairs up into the restaurant. The restaurant is certainly not fancy so if you like a bit of luxury then it's probably not the place for you. We were welcomed and shown to our table, we ordered drinks and perused the menu. I asked if there were onions in a particular dish but was told I could have the dish exactly as I wanted and it wouldn't be a problem. The food was absolutely sensational, the quantity and quality of the chicken in my dish was just superb. The staff were excellent, friendly, welcoming and attentive. Many of the reviews we read said that this place is a hidden gem and that's exactly what it is. Quite probably the best Chinese food my wife and I have enjoyed and we will definitely make a point of returning some time in the future. Thanks for the experience.

Visited China Blue, 19/07/2023 as it was recommended. 99% of clientele were Chinese which was a good sign. Ordered two starters, prawn toast & salt & pepper ribs which were very tasty but the two main courses were absolutely delicious, shredded battered chicken in honey...

Friendly staff. Setting is ok. Food could be better, starter was quite scabby lots of onions & barely any chicken. Beef dish I felt the meat could have been cooked longer.

What a wonderful restaurant. Excellent food, attentive and knowledgeable staff. Music was easy listening Jazz and non intrusive. I had the spicy pork with boiled rice and my partner had the pork noodle soup. Safe to say we will definitely return as there was so many things on the menu we both wanted to try.

This is a superb chinese cuisine dining experience.From the moment you arrive,you are ushered to your table by attentive, friendly staff.The menu is huge with many authentic ethnic dishes .There is a huge seafood choice but there is something for everyone. At 96 Renfield St, China Blue is easy to pass by as there is just a single door on the street but a short ,unchallenging walk upstairs takes you to a huge restaurant space , the decor of which is exactly what a chinese restaurant should be. It is comfortable,classy and welcoming.Dining here will be a guaranteed rewarding experience perfect for any special occasion.

Utterly tremendous! Superb quality food, friendly but not intrusive service, and a relaxed & pleasant table layout set-up. Dinner for 4 - starters & mains, plus 8 bottles of beer (Tsing- Tao) £139 (no service charge). Hot and Sour & Wonton soup starters were magnificent,...
