Having visited this restaurant previously it was a no brainer booking g it again as I have always enjoyed the food and service. I had the blackened seabass and it is truly outstanding

We booked a table for 7.30 and when asked if it was a special occasion we told them it was our anniversary. Food came very quickly and was nice, we hadn't finished our wine when the bill arived before we'd asked for it. A rather rude waiter told us people were waiting for our table, I said I was still finishing my wine, he said we only had the table for an hour and fourty five minutes. We pointed out we had not been told this at the time of booking and we had only been there for an hour and twenty minutes. At the price they charge we wanted to linger over our meal a bit longer than an hour and twenty minutes, especially as it was our anniversary. Extremely rude and extremely greedy, they're only interested in getting as many many paople in as they can in a short space of time to get as much money as they can. No more Chin Chin for us, definately wouldn't reccomend and will not be going back. Shame.

Thankfully it seems that Chin Chin has been taken over which has resulted in fantastic service and excellent food. However, the lack of basic allergen information is a concern given the times we love in and the amount of allergens that all restaurants have to adhere to, the '14'. The menus online are not clear and often confusing as they are not properly labelled as to the content of allergens. Therefore, it makes it a bit nerve racking that even if as an allergy sufferer, you have to plan your meals, ( I am Ceoliac/Gluten Free) you cannot even do that because the menus are so poorly written. For this reason I have given it 4 as I was only able to eat from a very very limited menu because I didn't trust I wouldn't get sick. Real shame because the service was really good, the atmosphere lovely and the portion sizes for my friends was fantastic and well worth the money. Dear Manager of chin chin pinner, Please sort your menus out!

The atmosphere was very pleasant. Had Edamam beans, Forest maki, Shout out, Gyz vege, Honey tofu, Vege satay, Duck pancake, CC Papaya salad, Green curry vege, and Jasmine rice. Drinks, Lychee fantasy, Inari zushi and King cobra. Were served by Sharma. Really had a great time. Will definitely visit again. Thanks guys.

I went to Chin Chin recently and thought the decor of the restaurant to be nice and it had a buzzy atmosphere. The food unfortunately for me was very average. We had Sushi and Sushimi to start and the sushi was fine, but the sushimi was dry and a bit rubber like - I have had much better sushi at Kyoti in Hatch End. We ordered a large black cod main course, which was presented beautifully and had a nice taste (as you would hope for a £66 dish-for 2/3 people) but it didn't taste anything like black cod, but did taste nice. We also had a thai papaya salad, which again tasted ok, but it didn't have the flavour it should have, which tends to be sweet, salty spicy, sour - this was just sweet with mild spice. We also had some boiled rice, which was fine. The service was ok, the waitress almost came over too much to ask too many questions - I would of course prefer that to poor service, but some of the questions weren't that necessary and kept interrupting our conversation. It was pleasant and average food.

We had a 65th birthday celebration for Our uncles birthday. Mr Sharma and his staff couldn’t have done more. We all had a fantastic time. 16 of us. The food ambience drinks staff service were all on point. We will definitely be coming back. Thanks again to chin chin for hosting a lovely dinner twice in 6 months for all of us. See you soon for sure.

I had a 50th bday celebration at chin chin for a group of 20. I cannot recommend this place enough from the food service ambience decor. Everyone really enjoyed it. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We went for pre lunch drinks at the cocktail bar next door which I would recommend. We have since ordered take away from there and the food did not disappoint. Mr Sharma and his staff were on point.

Visited for a family meal but the manager would not seat us at the table until all of our group arrived - the table was ready so I’m not sure why we couldn’t be seated straight away. Unfriendly waiting staff and 2 of the vegetarian sushi options were unavailable - unreal for a Saturday evening and no suggestions on alternatives offered or no apology. The starters were all good however the Hakka noodles for our main course were cold and boring - barely any vegetables. For the prices charged I was expecting quality and experience similar to central London restaurants.

First time here and a warm welcome from the staff. we had a drink and ordered some edamame beans as we were waiting for the rest of the team to arrive.(six altogether), The beans were very good and I would have them again The 2 starters were average, lamb chops and chicken wings. (won't have them again. the rest of the starts were very good especially the Sushi, also the Dim Sum was good as were the Gyoza. wasabi beans were straight fro the supermarket packet (Average) Now for the Main course: highlight of out evening, it was the Black cod and boy was it good (finger licking) Also no service charge included so pay what you think they deserve as I think it should be every where will I go back: Absolutely, can't wait.

My wife and I visited Chin Chin after various good reviews by our friends. However I was left quite disappointed and dissatisfied. This place has nice decor and the staff were friendly and attentive towards us. Chin Chin seems to be a jack of all trades and master of none offering Japanese, Thai and Chinese. The prices are central London prices and really doesn’t need to be that extortionately priced. For starter we ordered duck and chicken bao buns. Bao buns were decent, whilst the duck looked like a processed bird. Other restaurants usually come with a quarter duck and shred in front of you. You could tell this duck was processed. I ordered Pad Thai and I’m sure it had Indian masala as in it. This restaurant does not have an authentic Chinese/ Thai/ Japanese feel to it. Not coming again, waste of time and my money.

1st time visiting and have to say service and staff are awful. From the minute we sat down without a welcome, it was you have 2 hours to eat. Then, as we were eating, we were reminded every so often how long we have left, even when we were thinking, should we have dessert she said well you have only 10 minutes left. Rang in advance to see if the restaurant was accessible for a wheelchair user. We were informed that if was. However, It was not. The portable ramp was too small to get a wheelchair in through the front door and the disabled bathroom was not accessible - you had to walk up around 8 narrow stairs. I accept that not all listed buildings can be made accessible, however, a lovely celebratory evening was marred by my son’s having to carry their father into the restaurant and the fact that we had to leave early as the bathroom could not be accessed. The manager offered for his staff to ‘carry’ my husband up to the bathroom. Yuk!

If Google had minus stars i would give this resturant minus-3 . This place has a bit of Japanese, a bit of Thai a bit of Chinese !! “Jack of all trades master of none “ The staff and manager are obnoxious as i heard the manager shouting at a customer who asked the food to be mild. The staff are rude and incompetent and the prices are like Mayfair. The food is not that great either . The owner is never on site so he doesn’t think much of the place as many small restaurants in the area would have owners taking interest in customers welfare. The service is really bad as it took over 75 mins to just get our mains no apology from these cowboys whose only objective is to get rich . I have been to this place 2-3 times now thinking that an improvement would be forthcoming, but actually it has got worst with highest staff turnover that I have seen. Unfortunately as the Chinese proverb says “ The fish always rots from head downwards “ The staff can be rude when the management supports staff over customers and forgets that he is only in business because he has customers.

The restauranr is set in a nice location so understand the inflated price of food. However, I would also expect the food to reflect this... especially the most expensive option.. Lamb chops. A portion of lamb chops were overpriced (at £16.50 for very smalll 4 chops) and they were all very small.. only slightly bigger than a piece of lamb tikka. We ordered 3 potions of these.. all the same size. Very very bland.. lacked taste so I would strongly advise against buying these. Basically £4 for one piece of lamb tikka which was bland. Other starters were OK. Indo chicken wings were good and a main course of Jungle curry was also good. Some nice range of cocktails and shots.

Very nice venue but highly priced. A bowl of egg fried rice £6.50. Be lucky to spend less than £40 per head. Staff almost robotic. No smiles or banter which can help with creating a friendly atmosphere.

We had the worst experience here! The food was ok - sashimi was nice, chicken satay was bland and the honey fried chicken was horrible. Drinks - the mock-tail (kimchoori mango) we had tasted like vomit, we sent that back and had it replaced with a virgin mojito which was also disgusting (not sure how you can get it so wrong). We were in the ruby room which is supposedly for celebrating special occasions. It definitely isnt. It felt like a school canteen and the waiters were cleaning all the plates right next to our table, so essentially the background music was the clashing of plates and cutlery. Decor was old, dirty and unfinished. Without being rude, the staff need to improve their hygiene as the smell of BO was overwhelming. Not sure how this place can charge these prices for such a bad experience. We left having starters and went to Peking Garden for mains. That place is a million times better! Never going back to Chin Chin.

I would like to start off by saying the food was incredible, however some of the female staff were so rude and non attentive. We had to ask 3 times for a bottle of water and twice to pay the bill. We decided on this occasion not to pay the service charge as we did not feel we got the service we expected. When paying the bill we were questioned by the waitress as to why we did not want to pay the service charge, and did we not want to pay the chef. I explained why and she said she has been in the toilet. I explained she was not the ones who had served us and it was the other waitresses. She reluctantly took our payments and walked off without saying thank you. I went back in to explain to the chef that his food was brilliant and it was in relation to the staff/service as to why we did not want to pay the service charge. At this point the member of staff that took our payments began to mook what I was saying and was really quite rude. Unfortunately I will not be going back to chin chin. Just because you are an establishment in los does not mean you can talk to me the way you did. It is unacceptable and disrespectful to paying contractors.

Food is good, the venue is really nice… however they really need to look into hiring some more polite waitresses. The waitress that served our table was very rude and made me and my husband feel really uncomfortable in some occasions, specially when she came and asked how the food was and my course was yet to arrive (she replied, in a very rude and annoyed way that the food was coming). You can see that a course is missing, why asking how the food is and when the obvious is pointed out, you go all defensive. May come back, but not for the service

Food was good, disappointed they wouldn't customise anything- apparently the chef won't make it! Having someone who has an egg allergy we asked if they could swap out the egg noodles in the Hakka noodles or the chow mein to egg free noodles (which they have for the Pad Thai- but was refused!) Ended up settling on the Pad Thai which was delicious but annoyed they couldn't just use the egg free noodles for the other dishes- this makes me wonder- is everything cooked fresh. or batch cooked and then reheated to serve?! Service was BELOW par- I entered at 6.20 on what was an extremely quiet time for the restaurant but left waiting at the door like a lemon while staff were pottering around not really doing much- reluctantly someone came and said if you don't have a reservation we are full- to which I said I do have one! She then ushered me over to the bar to wait a further 8 minutes till someone came to see me. Eventually got seated and before I even got given a menu I was told we only have the table till 8pm. I was waiting for my friend to arrive and in the 10 minutes I waited I was approached FOUR times to order- Every time I politely reminded them I am waiting for my friend who is running late- to which I was reminded you have to leave the table by 8pm. I told her I was aware. My friend arrived and she still hadn't even sat down and again the waitress came to take our order- We asked for a few minutes, but she refused to leave and said I will take drink and starters order now. We settled into our meal, still eating and the same waitress came THREE times to asked if we were finished- evidently not as there was still food on our plates and food on the table! We left in good time (within our allocated reservation time) but honestly the entire service was such an enormous let down- Gently reminding guests once I think is suffice and I find it rather rude to ask if your finished when it is so clearly obvious you are still eating your meal. As lovely as the food and ambience is, would not rush back at all due to service. This is a premium restaurant with Central London prices and the service should reflect that

Great venue, great service, great food, you couldn’t ask for more. Except the customer service is second to none. This is now my top go to restaurant. Keep it up.
