Amazing place to eat always eat from here never had problem with the food always bin fresh and tasty 100% recommend to anyone so friendly will accommodate to your every need

I’ve ordered form here many times and never had a problem. Until I ordered a gourmet beef burger and received what I can only describe as cold raw meat. On ringing Chico’s to explain what had happened I was told to contact Uber eats as it wasn’t their problem basically. I didn’t even get an apology until i said i think you should take some responsibility. I’m sorry but Uber eats didn’t cook the food and serve raw meat you did. Never again I’m just thankful I only eat warm/hot food and knew it wasn’t cooked instantly by how cold the burger was otherwise the outcome could have been different. Shocking. £6.50 for the burger on its own too. Think you want to reconsider your pricing if you can’t even cook a burger it’s the basics!!!!! I’d give a zero star if I could completely unacceptable to serve your customers this kind of food and then to pass the blame to a delivery company!

Not sure about it being better than Nandos however portion sizes are infinitely more generous. We order a whole chicken and chips and the whole chicken was huge. We also ordered a kids meal which our daughter enjoyed. All in all the prices were reasonable and food was nice.

Food tasted amazing...it was busy when we walked in so had to wait a little but was worth it.. everything we ordered was bursting with flavour! The meat was soft and tender. Best thing is all halal and no alcohol on the premises.

Visited this place after a trip to waterworld and must say the service was second to none considering it was a eat out to help out day and the food was even better than that of nandos

Came highly recommended and absolutely I've up to expectations. With a 5 star hygiene rating, delicious food cooked with passion, great customer service and a free car park next door, its highly recommended. I ordered a peri chicken, grilled, generously coated in a punchy mango and lime sauce, with a bowl of lightly spiced rice. Withour doubt, one of the best succulant chicken. Highly recommend.

The food is great but the service provided by this particular staff member makes you not wanna go to this place. Bloke who served me was insanely rude and very arrogant.

Apparently I know someone who worked there, who said that they wash the chicken and marinate it in the same basin where they wash everything. Also the owners close relative who runs the restaurant has s** with a work colleague over the worktops. Disgusting never visiting! No one wonders what actually happens to their food!

Fantastic peri peri chicken, truly great value ( 2 of us ate for £20), its basically a fast food place but don't let that count against it, the flavour of the chicken is yummy, and so is the rice, I wish I could learn the secret of how to cook this.Staff are nice.I would recommend. PsIce cream is great too.

Honesty this is some of the best chicken in Stoke. It's cheap and cheerful , the staff are really friendly and the food is great. It's a bit run down inside but you don't go for the decor you go for the food. Just a tip they have sweet potato fries but theyre not on the menu :)

Have had disgusting service the “manger” had zero skills kept cutting me off and wouldn’t take any responsibility for a paid meal that has not showed up to my door! Said it’s not his problem and put the phone down! What would of made me happier would of been a bit of understanding for the frustration on my part and offered to chase this up or offer me a refund! but he didn’t want to know! I will never order from this place again and would strongly warn others to not order from here unless they want to pay for food that doesn’t come!

We ordered the grilled whole chicken meal deal, the food was served within 3 minutes, the food was undercooked and we told the staff one specific male staff started shouting. at us for telling them the chicken is undercooked and it had blood and raised his voice in the whole restaurant until we decided to walk out, very bad customer service

We've had the family meal deal (take away) from here several times and cannot fault it. Be sure to order the whole chicken 'medium' hotness and well done with mango and lime sauce. Ask for extra sauce. Delicious. Very reasonably priced and they put an effort into everything from the salad to the sauce. Not like other takeaway joints that serve yellow lettuce and old tomatoes and call it a salad. The place itself looks very clean and service is fast.

Recently discovered here and we love it! The chicken is so tasty and succulent at such a good price. The waffles are also to die for. Cheaper and tastier than Nando's!

Happy with the burger, chicken and steak. Only complaint was that the pepper sauce with steak was very watery and hence lacked any flavour. Friendly staff and prompt service. Tasty deserts.

If you consider that this takeaway/restaurant, is located in a suburb next to a car wash, adjacent to a Further Education College, the food here is rather good, good choice from Steaks to Peri Peri chicken, salads, sides and excellent desserts, the price represents good value, we had food here twice once to take away and once to dine in. I would agree that the service needs some improvement, however that's only in so much as clearing tables, wiping downs tables and seats and general housekeeping, all in all rather good, all considered, I would come here again especially if we were on our canal boat........

We went to Chico's yesterday we had the houmas starter delicious & loads of it then the half peri peri chicken with chips & salad very nice I had the XX hot chicken very tasty very succulent chicken my wife had the mango we couldn't fault anything its lovely & clean bright, fresh perfectly cooked and served food at a great price we can't wait to try the burgers next time. .

The environment was noisy due to 12 year old boys swearing at each other, food came very late, table was dirty(water on the table).After ordering dessert there was a hair found in the cookie dough! Waitress(school kid) apologized and mentioned the manager wasn't in?! I'd advise no one to eat there!

I had the chicken fillet burger meal and asked for it mild. It was nice but a little too spicy for me, my sister had the chicken fillet burger too but had it with mango and lime flavour (she's been before and knows "mild" is too spicy for her). She found it was just a mild burger with the mango sauce.As a group there were 9 drinks (I brought my own downstairs), a waitress came back downstairs to reconfirm the drinks, came back down with 4 and told us the others would be in different glasses as they'd run out. The next two drinks came in plastic sundae glasses. We waited 10 mins, and had to ask for the other drinks as the waitress must have forgotten.We ordered 3 deserts (all waffles). We received one after 10 mins, after half an hour we managed to get the second desert (my friend has finished hers before my sister has even had the opportunity to start). Another 10 minute wait and we have received the last desert - although everyone else has finished their food.Is it not common practice to send out a table at a time? Instead of just one plate ?Overall the food was nice, just disappointed in the service and the waiting time.

Being going here now for some time with my mates. The food in this place is always lovely and fresh and presented nicely never had to complain about anything the peanut butter stack with ice cream is a must have dessert make sure it's put in the microwave before its served.

Quite possibly named after the infamous X Factor contestant of the same name, Chico's seems to be going full throttle for the Nando's led area of the Fried Chicken market, albeit providing better value. The Chicken has to be champion, and indeed is - soft, tender and succulent, while a full chicken comes with coleslaw, salad, two rice and one chips for £15! There's also a choice of sauces - Lemon and Herb, and Mango or Lime - and a choice of mild, medium or hot. The salad is nicely dressed, the coleslaw creamy and the biriyani rice impressive. Chips are chunky and fulsome, although the Mango and Lime sauce, while pleasing, is in short supply.Unfortunately there's no Mint or Massala tea available, but it's a minor blip on a meaty performance - and with Nando's being notoriously expensive, on a budget especially, this is one super smashing great alternative.

The last time I went here was last year October, but this is only because we have moved out of Stoke. The food is amazing! the chicken is tasty and so is the salad. The desserts are really good too. The customer service we received was 2nd to none the staff even knew us by name! this was because myself and my husband were there all the time! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick bite to eat on a budget. I am planning to visit here again in August for a friends birthday and can't wait.

I got tipped off about this from a work college. I have since been to Chico's for lunch about 5 times, each time it has been consistently good. The value for money is great too. And if you like milkshakes then you must try them here.

I always have half peri peri chicken with salad and chips or pasta.the food is always hot and staff very friendly.you can eat in if you choose .i havealways enjoyed the food. Large car park at side. The ice creams are very nice too.

Great new menu , excellent service, superb food especially the lamb chops which are done to perfection. Try the dessert menu and the cold drinks- a great variety and very generous portions. They do some hot drinks as well. The ambience is still very welcoming. If you're visiting the area , I thoroughly recommend Chico's.

This is the first time I visited chico's I can say wha a nice surprise. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful thank you. We had the full chicken with a medium strength just about right, chicken strips mango n lime loved them suckers and a rap forgot to say no salad so had to eat that one myself again very nice. The establishment it's self was very clean and was wonderful to be able see my dishes being cooked. Will defiantly be going back

I visited there with my girlfriend. Restaurant owner or manager was standing on our table for 15 minutes and continuously talking. I tried to get rid of him but no chance. Chicken was raw and cold. I will never go there

The chicken is very good , but the steak was quite thin and I was not asked how I would like it cooked , hence it was over done , but the chicken meals seem good value

I have been to this restaurant a fair few times with friends and have absolutely loved it! It's a great alternative to Nandos :) Staff are very friendly, although could do with a little more training on customer service and professionalism.The manager is a lovely man who never fails to make conversation but I've seen him act unprofessional a few times in terms of telling staff members off in front of us or holding an unnecessary conversation for too long when there's a queue. This is the reason I gave it four stars out of five. In terms of food, we love it, the spiciness is perfect too as you get a choice. My friends love the dressing on the salad and love the steak cut chips but sometimes they're under cooked. Portion sizes are amazing.Their mash tastes like ready made mash you buy from the groceries (Smash) instead of it being fresh.One thing we dislike is the house special sauce they have in the Nandos bottle. It's horrible and we keep getting recommended it by the staff but it's really not something we prefer; a wider selection of sauces please! The desserts here are fabulous, we love the peanut butter stack and the crepes and the waffles! I'm yet to try the mocktails and the ice cream sundaes but they look delicious too.Prices are very decent in comparison to portion sizes and it's something different brought to the community. Would defo recommend to everyone :-)

Been to this place first time, I have ordered checkin stake and it was absolutely lovely, perfect cooked and well presentation. Very clean and tidy place, staff and owner were very friendly and polite. Prices were a bit too much abut apart from the price, it's best place to eat. Will come back soon.

Several times we've been to this place as a family now and no doubt the food never let us down and always well-presented! However, there is a dwn side to everything n chico's will not be spared either. I think its abit too pricey especially when u go with a family. The bill builds up to a point where we think we could've spent this much in a better n higher quality restaurant. You pay separate for d drinks excluded with meals n overall way too overpriced. Kids dont prefer kids meal option all d time coz there is nothing so special about them(boring old chicken nuggets) as I make them at home so they want d other stuff that me n my husband like. And then we start to get conscious of the bill ofcourse. I could do with the place being bigger n spacious though enjoy d view of the canal through d window and lastly wished they accepted other methods of payment rather than just cash only - plz its a technical world now we need to keep up, do reconsider this again. Thank u. Anyway my main concern is todo with d prices really. Despite d prices of d menu I think its a great place to dine out if you're looking to eat locally. A lady in there who talks with an accent is very good with her customer skills! O yeah, strawberry indulgence is divine!!!

I went to chico's today with my 3 children. We ordered the peri chicken and peri wings and the kids really enjoyed it.For desserts i ordered a peanut butter stack for myself, which was delicious but my children were torn between the nutella waffles and the kids sundae. The manager was exceptionally accommodating and added waffles in the kids sundae! My kids loved it! I will definitely be visiting again as the food was great and service was excellent.

I came to chico's with friends and I have never received such bad service in my life, I will DEFINITELY never there again and I urge others not to.I ordered white chocolate cookie dough first off, the plate was very hot it almost scolded my fingers. My friend first tried the dough and found there were big macadamia nuts, I am allergic to nuts so I was very lucky to not have eaten any. It did not state on the menu that over 30% of the cookie would have nuts which is Law that dishes containing nuts need to be made visible to the customer.When I took this issue to the manager/owner his response was disgusting, rude and highly unprofessional. Instead of admitting his wrong and fixing the situation he began with the blame game saying that I should have asked if the cookie he nuts in and he had it on a price of paper that he pulled out from a folder on the floor. Big mistake, as a business you should be doing everything to accommodate your customers needs by all mean if a cake is chocolate with walnuts you simply don't just call it a chocolate cake! He failed to list the key ingredient on the menu and stood there arguing with me waving the paper around in my face and denying it was not a law to make it visible. After arguing for 5 minuets he agreed to swap it with a waffle and I went back to my seat. 10 minuets later he comes up to me in my seat whilst I was talking with my friends, rudely interrupted our conversation and began waving the paper in my friends faces ranting about the ingredients on the paper, This infuriated me more as he had then further disturbed my dining experience and continued to argue with me when the situation had been dealt with. I told him I was finished discussing the matter and asked him to leave us alone and he stormed off saying sarcastically 'the customer is always right, right!!'. After they brought me down a waffle with banana which was very dry and tasteless I'm not sure if he made it like that to infuriate me more or if that's how disgusting it actually tastes but the mood had killed my dining experience and I was quite upset. Walking out the a place he sat on the table counting money out in the open display how great his business practise was and I informed him I would be writing a bad review, how unprofessional he was, I tried to inform him customers should be able to dine in confidence and he should be accommodating them rather than being so immature and he arrogantly replied goodbye, he kept repeating goodbye ignoring my comments. His behaviour was disgusting, immature and he is clearly a greedy man. Also the way he treated his workers is shocking, I had witnessed him shouting at them, snatching things off of them and standing over them. The staff seem very intimidated by him which is generally a big customer service issue as they are not friendly or polite more like robots who rarely acknowledge you. All in all, I will not recommend this place due to this horrific experience and I will be taking this issue up with authorities as a life threatening incidence may have occurred.

With regards to the actual food, it wasn't terrible, but not exceptional either. It's just a Pepes with the additional options of steaks. That's all. So, here's my review of what I had to eat - lamb steak and chips with pasta:Chips - very normal. As you'd expect. You can't get much wrong here, can you. They're just chips. 4/5. Pasta - very very bland and cold when served. Forgettable. 2/5Steak - very rubbery and, without a steak knife, difficult to cut. When able to break a piece off and eat, the taste was adequate but nothing to remember by. 3/5Service - as the title says, terrible. The gentleman taking orders at the till -- who I'm told was the owner -- was sneezing. Before reaching the till to order, we waited 10 minutes whilst they got at least two orders wrong ahead of us. After loading the drinks with 50% ice -- thus diluting the taste -- we received our food fairly quick. However, when staying behind for desert, we waited 20 minutes only to be given the wrong desert. When challenged, the member of staff replies "Just have it, it's the same thing", which prompted me to go back to the manager/owner to let him know I've not been given what I asked/paid for. To which he tells me I'm wrong and that's what I ordered. I kindly ask for a refund and leave having waited 20 minutes for nothing.

After years of being derelict it's great to see this old building restored. From the smell of loveley food to the suprise of finding id has an underground area with a view of the neighbouring canal. Fantastic food. Friendly and helpful staff. Would recomend to anyone.

Me and my sister had come here just for a quick meal before heading home. We heard a lot of good reviews about this so we were curious to see for ourselves. As soon as we had sat down we were getting funny looks from the girl behind the counter which made us feel unwelcome. We ordered our food and drinks (the waitress still giving us funny looks and now becoming rude towards us) the food soon came out and it was really nice, I'm usually a picky person with chicken etc as been a chef myself but it was perfect. We will be returning purely because of the food, not the service.

I liked the restaurant and the chicken was very good. However the gourmet burgers are well over seasoned, it was more like a donner kebab burger. I'll go back, but please improve the burgers, no one in Stoke-on-Trent does a delicious gourmet burger. The place is clean and well presented, can't fault the staff either.

Took a chance on this restaurant as me and my daughter was looking at somewhere to eat whilst waiting for my son to finish a presentation at Staffordshire university it was just round the corner from where he's being staying whilst studying there .It was late afternoon so not to busy so didn't wait long for our food to arrive .I had the Gourmet Burger which was very tasty made with fresh meat not processed served with a good salad garnish and chips and my daughter had a chicken strip wrap which she said also had fresh chicken and thoroughly enjoyed .My son finishes his degree this month but we will be definitely be back to sample the delights of this restaurant before he leaves Stoke for the last time.

I have ate from here about four times-the food is good -it tastes really nice . At first the chips were really good ! but quality has slipped-I really liked the chips but they don't seem as fresh. honest opinion is that the chicken is really good! chips need to go back to being fresh! and they need to sort out their bags!! i had leakage all over me and my floor. But overall its good food. The lady waitress is so kind , manager needs to perk up abit.

Can't knock the chicken, it was tasty, cooked just right. Just little things, as I picked my food up, got in the car, noticed that sauce was leaking everywhere. so I checked my bag that's when I noticed food was missing aswell. Good job I didn't drive 20 minutes home then found out. So walked back in, before I got to the counter the manager stood up took the bag from me, he didn't even ask what was up. 5 minutes I get my food back with everything in there. No sorry or nothing. So finally start eating, chips were never near cooked enough, hard in the middle! Rice was overcooked all stuck together. So it's just the little things need improving too be honest.

The steak burgers are delicious, my brother had a peri chicken, better than nandos, can't get enough of this place. Staff are friendly and the surroundings are always kept immaculately clean. Keep it up chicos.

the food was excellent loved it a lot you needed this in stoke the deserts are amazing too I am a regular costumer and I love the food and the peri peri chicken and also the teenager that works there I think he is the managers because he is there every weekend son but I cant be sure,you should keep him he could be a very good worker i saw him put all of the salad on and help the staff out anyway love to try some more Asian food.

My Asian friend recommended it to me. Four of us went. Seemed a bit like the manager didn't understand what we wanted, but the food was excellent and beautifully presented. Price was good as the meal included a drink-great for kids! Food possibly too spicy for some but that's the idea of the place and we were not disappointed. Only drawback is to eat downstairs you have to come back upstairs with your order-okay if you are young and fit! Chips, rice and pasta all fab, meat succulent. We will definitely be going back.

I visited this place before so I thought I'd pop in again. We ordered the gourmet burger, steak burger, rib eye steak , chicken half, chicken swings all with chips. The food was lovely fresh and tasty. we sat upstairs and could see the food being prepared in front of us. the place is clean with friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. we tried the desserts which are also made fresh in front of you. Nice fresh crepes with chocolate sauce and ice cream with fresh crispy waffles yum yum. would definitely be back

The food here is great, steak burger is made with shredded pieces of steak so it is not too heavy, highly recommend it. The gelato is really good too, they were making the cones whilst we were ordering our meal. Great to know everything is made fresh. It had a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere

I went here with my daughter as a holiday treat ordered chicken wrap fries and drink each .waitress was very nice but as we seated downstairs we had to make our way back up to order found this a bit frustrating . The view was nice and decor was beautiful a well needed change for stoke on Trent .

We wanted to have chicken but the wait was 30 minutes so we had burgers instead. Very impressed with the gourmet and steak burger! + The chunky chips are really nice.

Me and my brother dined in here the first week it opened and can honestly say for a place like Shelton it is a brilliant addition. However despite the amazing concept they could do with some sprucing up in certain areas, for example my steak was very chewy and tough, this could be altered by tenderising the steak to ensure maximum tenderness for the customer. Also the biggest down point is that the place does not accept card, understandably it is quite expensive which makes more sense for it to accept card so people can dine in their not worrying they may not have enough cash. Another way in which they can improve the dining experience is making it similar to a la carte style where there is a order taken and you are given a bill at the end rather than paying for something at the tills everytime you order something. All in all it is a brilliant idea for Shelton and the peri chicken is one of the best I have ever tried! Beware dessert portions are absolutely massive. Keep up the good work!

This restaurant is an exemplary peri peri grill and would be tough competition versus the likes of nandos! The food is cheap, fast and delicious - well done!!

We stopped here on the way back from a trip up north and the food hit the spot. We all enjoyed our meals and the restaurant is nice and clean and offers a relaxing atmosphere. The car wash next door does a pretty good job as well if you are in the market for having your car washed while you eat. The only thing I wouldn't order again would be the milk shakes, they tasted a lot like chocolate milk and it didn't seem to have much ice cream in it.

The first time I went was last week had T-bone steak and perfect sauce and salad and fries. Price wise is okay for those kind of foods. Then I decided to come back again to celebrate my friend's birthday and ordered the Rib-eye and it was really good too! However the pasta was so so, it was kind of dry but the steak covered it all so its okay for me. Overall it is one the nice place to have dinner with friends and fam :-)

I've been here few times and the food is really good for stoke as I'm from Birmingham, but the service is not good they always got something missing like one day no wings, one day no sauce...you should sort it out! And they seem to not know the prices from their own menu. Some of the waiters/waitress have no common sense whatsoever

This is the second time I've been, and it was a wonderful experience, with some friends. The food was good, quick service and decent pricing. The owner is friendly and the chef is the most warmest and sweetest! ❤️

I decided to have a look on TripAdvisor and this place had great reviews. I decided to give it a shot. First impressions weren't great as they didn't accept card and I had to go and find a cash machine. I came back, ordered and sat downstairs. When the food arrived I was amazed, I had a chicken wrap with chips and a drink for £4.99. The food was brilliant and ( whom I assume was the owner) made sure everything was great on the way out. If I'm in the area again I'll be sure to pass by.

We were visiting family in stoke and found this place. we had the burgers, rib eye steak, steak burger all with chips and salad. the food was of an exceptionally high standard. you could tell the meat in the burgers was high quality the burgers were well seasoned, the buns were soft and fresh, the cheese was tasty. The chips were golden and thick yum yum. salad was crispy and fresh with a good variation of ingredients. the steaks were well done and seasoned just right, served with a peppercorn sauce, chips and salad. Chicos is a newly decorated place with a nice interior and if you go downstairs you get a canal side view. for the quality of food I though it was very reasonably priced I'm from Birmingham so next time im in stoke will visit again.

Food was fine, however it was annoying listening to the manager chat with customers (every single customer) in his loud voice asking if the food is good x 10- i dont mnd being asked once or twice but its almost every time i took a bite! its too much! i felt obliged to say 'yes' mid conversation with friends because i'm sure he would have hung around even longer and argued that his food is the best in the WHOLE of the region if i'd have say anything but 'yes'. I just want to eat my food- back off mate!

Finally a place in stoke that does fresh off the grill at reasonable price. New favourite place eat!

We have been visiting Stoke for years and food has been average but our relatives told us about a place opened 2weeks ago and they had been 3times!! It's a great place clean and very friendly service and we sat on the lower level with a view of the canal. The kids loved watching barges coming through at eye level. The food was fresh and good quality, even the salad was yummy. The chips were nice and chunky. They have plenty of peri peri sauce to add if you want to add. One of us had the chicken burger which had a really thick piece of chicken breast. The only criticism was it was a little greasy. The peri peri grilled food was lovely and flavoursome you could really taste the fresh lemon and herb.we had milk shakes and dessert and it Was a lovely family over indulgent get together. Highly recommend for families

I've been 3 times now, and tried the peri chicken (finger licking good), gourmet burger (yum) and most recently the steak burger (delicious). The mojito (mint & lime) had a real kick to it, and tasted so good. However, the best thing would be the desserts. I've never known ice creams to taste so natural - (coconut, mango, strawberry) and the hot cookie dough is to die for!! Thank you Chico's!!

lovely clean place with food with a difference. The waiters are very polite and can't do enough for you
