Chicken Shed in Cherwell

I try not to leave negative reviews but as it is now the second time I am getting the same poor service I feel the owners need to know. This is the second time in a few weeks I have tried to order from there. I was in lock 29 yesterday lunchtime, 1pm, O tried to order Loaded tatter tots and was advised there was no pork, fair enough, those things happen, I asked if I could have another filling maybe instead, I got a blank look from the young lady (same service last time from her) and she then said "No" and went back to cleaning. Literally nothing else was said, none of the : anything else I could get you, we have this or that left, nothing, no thank you good bye, just No and went away. You can't be making money with opening at 12 and closing at 1pm. Others were turned away when I was waiting for food from next door to you. Why even open. I cannot mark the food as you don't serve any it seems, and the service is appalling, you can tell those 2 young people do not want to be there. Sad times.

My order has been rejected 4 times. It looks like it is run by children. If you can't handle delivery orders then why did you join JustEat!

We decided to make our evening complete by grabbing dinner at Lock 29. Usually, food stalls start closing around 5 pm, but today was a delightful surprise! Thanks to the Castle Quay Mall's holiday late-night shopping event, all the stalls were still buzzing with activity. After exploring the vibrant options, we discovered the Chicken Shed, and I couldn’t resist trying it for the first time. As we approached, a gentleman greeted us warmly. His exceptional service truly enhanced our experience as he generously piled our order with delicious food, even adding extra chicken for good measure! I was transported to Flavor Town from the first bite to the last. Who would’ve thought a simple chicken sandwich with crispy tater tots could leave such a lasting impression? Where have these incredible chicken burgers and tater tots been all my life? The Chicken Shed has won us over with outstanding service and one-of-a-kind dishes. A huge shoutout of thanks to the talented chefs Tom Gillett and Josh Butler for crafting the best-tasting chicken burgers and tater tots, cooked to delicious, tasting perfection we’ve ever had. Keep those incredible dishes coming because we can’t wait to return for more culinary delights!

The food here is great, only issue is the communication between workers/order processing. For the past 3 times ive come here my order is delayed by quite a while, and when i go up to enquire about it the ticket has been misplaced or doesnt even exist, despite having paid and been given a buzzer. The first time i didnt think much of it since they were quite busy but the previous 2 times have been quiet. The mistake is always fixed quite quickly once i ask about my food, but the fact that its a recurring issue does put me off abit.

They kindly catered for our son, Cameron and now daughter in law Alice's wedding on Saturday, 13th July 2024 at Dodmoor House, Weedon. Everyone talked about how amazing their food was. Would definitely recommend x

This would have easily been a 5 if it wasn’t for a couple of very small things. Incredibly juicy and crispy chicken, however I think there must be garlic powder in the coating as there was the very faintest burnt taste. This can happen when you deep fry garlic powder, however the taste was excellent. The other very minor thing is I could have done with a bit more Parmesan on the burger. These small things aside this is a great chicken burger and the tater tots were super crispy and well seasoned. Great service from the guy working there too. Would recommend!

Very tasty food, tater tots were delicious!

Leaves a lot to wish for taste wise. Quick and I seeemed fresh but I didn't really like it. Might be a matter of personal taste.

The best chicken burger I've ever had - it's repeatably delicious. The Nori burger is my favourite, but they all have the trademark melt in your mouth chicken.

Usually don’t leave reviews but I ordered the Plain Jane burger and it was amazing! The chicken was super crispy and delicious. I’d highly recommend this place.
