Chicken Cottage in Hillingdon

Chicken cottage has really gone downhill… This branch along with many others ive tried in London recently, are nothing short of miserable compared to what it used to be. I wonder what went wrong. Food is edible to some extent but the chips are dreadfully thin and unpleasant to eat and then theres the fried chicken.. if you’re into soggy batter with a side of soggier batter, then you’re in luck. It feels more like you’re eating a wet napkin than actual chicken. Not the worst thing I’ve ever eaten, but it’s definitely competing for a spot.

Its nice, some of the staff are nice and some are rude, it's a nice restaraunt don't be fooled but it could be better i guess?

hi i ordered the food. checked the app it said delievered, i called chicken cottage three times. first time he said he will check for an update, after five minutes i called for an update and they said that the driver is still coming but they are delivering another order first after another 5 minutes i called back for an update and they said to call just eat. i said to them even though i told you the app said delivered you still insisted the food was coming and now said they can't do anything because its delivered so call just eat. i asked him about what the driver said when he said he would call, he said i cant do anything, called the driver then hung up the phone. so now there is no food, money is taken from my account and the worker at chicken cotrage hillingdon was very rude and unhelpful

If i could give 0 stars i would! The chicken burger was soggy and chips freezing cold. I specifically asked for no mayo on the burger in the notes but for some reason the people at this place can not follow simple instructions and ignored my request. I wouldn't even give their food to a stray dog as i think they would deserve better than what chicken cottage has to offer. How this place is still is trading is beyond me.

awful place. Food terrible and food always arrives really late. Ridiculous how poorly managed this place is. A real let down to the chicken cottage franchise.

How you guys charging more than KFC whilst providing much worse food? You’ve completely lost the plot

Far from the original taste of chicken cottage. The peri peri fillet burger smells fishy and is small and tasteless. Fries are dry and skinnier than the other franchises. I always eat at Langley chicken cottage and definitely can tell it’s not even close to their taste. What’s more funny is the sign saying CASH ONLY on their counter! Prices are higher than the other franchises with dodgy stickers on them.

I told them very well dkne the full chicken and its all raw I donr get it why serve raw chicken to people so I give you 1 star

I ordered the food on uber. The quality of food was not good. Burger looked old and uncooked. The box for chicken was broken and foil bag of grilled chicken was ripped. It looked like that food was not fresh. I am not getting food from this chicken cottage again.

The food was great and it is Halal.

Food not great at all! Don't think they use fresh salad in their wraps because we all had an upset stomach afterwards. Work place doesn't look that clean tbh

Rude staff and no idea how to speak with customer

Worst chicken cottage branch i have ever had. Southall, northolt and hayes all have same if not similiar quality. This hillingdon branch is soggy and no crunch off flavour fried chicken!! Unless they have changed things and head office has paid them a visit to sort out quality control. Can't understand how this branch is still open.

Man I almost passed away(in a good way) , the succulent, spectacular, spontaneous, super juicy jugs on my crispy chicken boiii, that is to die for when I tell you this was the best chicken I’ve ever consumed my nan told me to shut the door, because I was screaming this is the chicken spot, GET YOUR SCRAN FORM HERE ASAP BEFOR I EAT IT ALL xx

Chicken was somehow burnt on outside and pink in the middle. Staff rude and didn’t refund me for inadequate product. Also had to get cash for their tax fiddle.

I promised I’d do them a review, so I’ll deliver. Just like they did for me! First off, the chicken pieces (thighs, drumstick and wings) were hot, juicy, well seasoned - certainly didn’t disappoint in the spice department! It’s so hard to find a chicken shop that manages to do any of those things never mind all, so it’s refreshing to finally find one that does 🙌 Second, the customer service really was there. Doesn’t matter what the request was or how many of them there were, bossman carried them all out, made sure to check that he remembered my requests correctly to ensure no mistakes were made, nothing was too much for him. He even offered to charge my phone for me! I really felt like I was looked after as the customer, I hope this kind of standard is the norm not the exception for this place I can’t lie, it’s not perfect. By no means was the tower burger bad, it was alright but I think it could be improved, I’ve had better ones elsewhere. It wasn’t packed with flavour, hot, juicy nor oozing freshness quite like the chicken pieces I had - good thing I ordered the burger first! This is why it’s 4 stars not 5. Otherwise there’s not much if anything I can fault about this place 👌 The location is fantastic if you need access to the Oxford Tube coaches heading out of London, very convenient for passengers like myself. I can’t promise I’ll come often as I live far away but if ever I’m cold, hungry and got time to wait for the coach home the next time I happen to be near Uxbridge/Ruislip, I will not hesitate to walk into this place for a repeat of the enjoyable experience I had tonight! I appreciate it’s “slightly” long but I hope you the potential customer find this review insightful, and I hope the staff are impressed with the way I did it

Wasn't too happy with the service, as regular customers we were expecting better service. We ordered cheeseburger as part of our order and after waiting for 20 mins, we were told they don't have cheeseburger and they apparently didn't charge us for it. So we had to go McDonald's drive through instead. The order was quite big and we were short 20p and didn't want to break a £50 note, usually in other branches they'd allow a little discount instead he said no and was very blunt about it. No card payments were available either so I had to remove a burger from my order. My order was also missing. First time of having this at this branch and I am a regular customer who spends over 60£ everytime. Not sure if I will visit again.

Really bad place for chicken wings, the wings had black spots and tasted very dry. Used to be a good place, and went there for years but unfortunately it’s now in the gutter. Avoid like the plague. How are people still going to this place?

Hi my name is Amrit I just come today around 12:15 Am to take way Burger & chips but I didn’t get what I ordered so I’m very disappointed with your service lady is so rude & arrogant she doesn’t how to talk with costumer I’m not happy with your costumer service She even don’t know How talk with costumer She give me wrong order & when I said to her that’s your fault she start argue with me & one more thing when I ask her name she refused by law she can’t refuse if costumer want know her name for complain I hope management will understand my point & gonna do something about it because this is not first time happen but I never made a complain but this time I’m very very unhappy Thank you

There prices are reasonable which is why we go there occasionally after school. CASH ONLY SIGN Be aware, if you turn up without cash you may not be able to buy a meal here. They usually have a sign saying cash only, sometimes they also say their card machine isn't working and if they are feeling generous then they will take card payment if other customers arent around. I have experienced all these scenarious with them. They also dont return my change. Usually its been a penny or two pence. The usual stip meal we buy is advertised as £4.99. They love to keep the penny! And do so in a very natural way, as if they aren't even expecting you to receive that back. Now you may be wondering why I am complaining about a penny. Its not the money I am concerned about, its the principle. Like, if you want the penny then just bump your price up to £5. What I find bewildering about the employees is how naturally they don't even faulter to keep the change. I wonder how much change they would keep up to? 5p? 10p hmm. Maybe next time I will offer them an extra penny and say 'hey, keep this, it's on me'. Sorry, but it just bugs me and goes against principle. They charge 20p for chilli sauce. So would I be entitled to a free chilli sauce after my 20th visit? 😂

AVOID THIS PLACE BY ALL MEANS NECESSARY!!! I Ordered chicken burgers and Asked Especifically NO MAYONNAISE. They delivered the food not just 45mins late, the food was Awful and dreadful, the chicken burger was covered in Mayonnaise and the Lettuce. I called the restaurant to complain but they rude when they answered it, no telephone manners. They put you on hold but they just cut you off. Phoned again and it just went straight to voice mail. Never, EVER coming back or ordering from these place again!!!! Oh! Yeah, the food it just went Straight to Bin.

Food is rank. Bbq sauce is not bbq. I went for 3 wings and a burger meal which was 7.50. Not knowing they had a deal for the same thing with a side for 6 39. The worker offered this Meal to other customers but did not recommend this too me. I will not be eating here again. The chicken is rubbery and slimy and the fillet was way over cooked. Dreadful.

Before it was a good shop. Today, when I asked for a chilli sauce the guy said he ll charge 20p extra. When I said they give it for free before, he started posing as though he is about to hit me. I just walked out . So these guys needs a training.

This was ma usual chicken shop for the past few months. Come back home late want a burger I know they will be open. They normally have a cash only sign, although on multiple occasions they have been taking card. I go on today and a customer before me places his order and pay by CARD. I go to place my order a the guy tells me I can't pay by card and it's card only. Are you having a laugh... Don't bother going thir wings are cap any way....

Bad place for food ( not clean and bad costumer service)

Went in today and seen the most racist and unprofessional staff. Don't ask the quality of the food, its pathetic and would not be going there ever. Waste of time and money!

The shop owner is son of beach. Making burger with Sri Lankan aroma, itching everywhere and then make burger and chicken wings. As a result I had dangerous food poisoning. They don’t change Cooking oil everyday that’s why wings, fillet and strips are not tasty. Customer service are really third class, no smiling, no greetings etc. Customer should visit nearest shop. I will never go there. I would give them -10 rating if possible, totally upset.

Nasty and racist workers especially during the nights. Won’t greet or smile to customers and make fun of them in a foreign language. The food is horrible as often they cook it and left there since morning. Would always choose to go Just down the road or a couple of blocks from them there are better fried chicken shops.

Horrible food, gave me food poisoning. Delivery driver forgot my drink, called the restaurant and the guy on the phone was very rude and started ignoring my calls. Avoid if you care for your health and don't wish to throw up!

I think this is a disgrace and a disapointment of a takeway place. Its really not good enough I have ordered many times and almost every time they forget a piece of food from my order. I have very bad memory so i forget to check at the shop. And when i try to call it goes straight to voice mail. The food i got wasn't even warm . Most of the staff arent even polite if i could rate this 0 stars i would. All together DO NOT order from this takeaway.

Chicken was served rotten, found a maggot inside the wing, instantly threw up. Went back to the shop and owner told me nothing I can do about it! DO NOT GO HERE!

I wish i could give 0 star to them but unfortunately google doesn’t allow, they don’t deserve a single star. There staff is disgrace for chicken cottage franchise, very disrespectful specially the guy with moustache always in front serving customers. After midnight they stick the note “Only cash” when card machine is available perfectly. They take advantage of people they knows their shop is open till late *clowns* and then continue dispute if you want order otherwise leave. Other day when i went there last time i saw guy cleaning extractor filters standing on the henny penny chicken fryer with his shoes on, and down there next to him fries were getting ready in fryer and liquid soap were spilling from the top. I will make sure i will let FSA know about this shop standards.

Dont get the chicken wrap. Wings arent bad . But still beware. Burnt a fish burger and didnt care. Still placed in the bag any way. When we got home it was a like a incinerated fish finger. Really bad customer service.

The floor was kind of oily. Fries were thick and crispy, they gave you unsalted fries with salt packs which was nice. Chicken seasoning was pretty good, but very greasy. They accidently(?) gave me an extra piece of chicken.

Poor customer service, quality of chicken is questionable and HALAL CERTIFICATE IS OUT OF DATE. Chap behind the counter tells me that he lost it and left the one expired April 2018 on the wall, way up where no one can see it. The shop front was dirty, not presentable, avoid this branch if possible!

Our was delivered incomplete. A sauce tub had come undone and covered all the contents of the delivery in tomato sauce. Chips were awful and the chicken wasn't much better. Do yourself a favour and order somewhere else.

Great for a quick meal. They do an amazing Piri Piri range. Staff is friendly. There is parking around close by too.

Messed up my order. When I went back to ask them to give me the right order was waiting for fresh batch of chicken and was keeping an eye on the old chicken to see if they would dispose it. I had to go to my car quickly to get my phone and when I came back thry put the old chicken back on the display rack. Don't buy for these crooks!

Chicken tasted like fish and none of the spicy items were spicy in the slightest. We ordered the spicy potato wedges and they were completely unseasoned, and the spicy wings had the same fishy taste as the rest of the chicken

Food took triple the estimated delivery time. Food arrived freezing cold and they didn’t do anything about it. There were roughly 10 chips in the portion. I took the food back myself to chicken cottage and they didn’t replace the meals. Absolutely disgusted I’ve never ever experienced this kind of service in my life. Horrifying experience use deliveroo they are a lot better and please don’t order from chicken cottage, disgusting service. When we called chicken cottage they kept hanging up. Had to drive there to return their distrusting food and confront them for their bad service as I short delivered freezing cold food with a hops portion smaller than what you get in a happy meal. Had to take a cab at 11 to go to the shop and then take my 2 boys to Mac d’s. really bad night and experience. Their service is horrific. Stay well away. They cheat you and are really rude. This place deserves no customers. Save your self and stay away from them and Uber eats.

One star because the burger and reg wedges were good and two stars for the laugh because I ordered spicy wedges and a 3 piece chicken. At least the guy working was nice.
