order grilled wings and grilled chicken burger meal. Was told that it would take 15 minutes. I agreed to come back in 25 minutes. upon return, I found out that they hadn't even started making my food. he then told me to wait and that it would take just t minutes. It isn't very professional not to have the food ready after a long wait but also how did the duration shorten so dramatically. the skin hadn't been taken of the grilled burger. it looked rush. don't thibk that I will be returning

I recently dined at The chicken cottage on March 25 March 2025, and it turned out to be one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've had. The noise from the kitchen staff was distracting, making it hard to have a conversation. I cannot recommend The chicken cottage based on my experience, and I hope they can address these issues for future customers.

I’m leaving this review after trying their Too Good To Go bag! Which is £4.99 for goods of up-to £15 of food items.. what I had was 3 pcs chicken, 2 wings & chips as in the photo… I don’t think they should lie that much

I placed an order through the Chicken Cottage app at this location, and it took over an hour just to be accepted. There isn’t even an option to cancel the order on the app. I tried contacting the store using the phone number listed on Google Maps, only to get an "invalid number" recording. Am I supposed to wait over an hour and a half for my food? When the delivery guy finally arrived, he said he was from Chicken Cottage. When I complained and refused the food due to the delay, he simply left it on the road and left. Is this really how you handle food and treat customers? It seems they only care about taking money, not about serving customers properly. Orders should be reviewed promptly; if they’re delayed, the store should either accept them in a reasonable time or contact the customer. I have no idea what the branch manager is even doing. This experience was beyond disappointing. If you’re considering ordering from here, think twice.

I always had very positive experiences at this take away shop in terms of their services and good quality food. However; on 03/11/24 I bought a whole grilled chicken and it was not a top quality chicken. When I arrived the restaurant they said fresh chicken was being cooked and I was very happy. But when I reached home , I realised that the chicken was not fresh as they said. Its skins looked different and shirked, and tasted a bit unusual. This is just one off so I can’t blame them..l have been a customer of this takeaway for many years and this is the only time I had a negative/ unpleasant experience with their food. Otherwise I always enjoyed their food and service.

Love coming here for chicken. It's very good here I must say.

Chicken burgers were the worst chicken cottage burgers I have had chips were okay, normally chicken cottage burgers are pretty decent. Do not go there taste is awful just ate cause I was hungry.

Food tasted so good , price was acceptable considering it's 2024. Staff was kind and quick . Will be back for sure 10/10

I stop by and ate on my way home. I ordered a chicken burger meal which was served quickly tasted good. Unfortunately the next day I came down with food poisoning and I hardly ate anything that day apart from that burger. Can't believe a franchise like this would serve food like this. I will not visit again once bitten twice shy

They reheat the fries two or three times if they don't go away. They cough and sneeze into the food, and the prices are the same as in the first zone.

Do you still do “2 pound 2 burger” like back then? maybe more expensive or not at all

The bbq chicken wings were not bad but the guy snuck in a tiny stale piece of boneless chicken as part of the meal.

Make me wait 2 hours and then cancelled my order. If you can't even prepare the food then why take the order. Just close the systems.

Should not really go there again always rubbish

Not only Rip off, you ask for chicken thigh, he secretly and hide gives you wing with small piece of breast .why cant customers choose what they want to eat ? He argues that chicken thigh and drumstick is the same , its not it has different glavour and small amount of meat difference ..everytime the big boss smells of urine owes me a penny ,he keeps it . It's not about small money but he is so dishonest ,very rude to people no wander why his shop display window got smashed multiple times by angry customers , and the laters two customers saw how rude he was to me, and got very angry at him throwing things at the shop ,they decided not to come back to this filth , they need to be reported for lack of hygiene . For Aggressive mannerism towards customers . Never go back to a stinky man . This shop honestly does not fit environmental health legislations watch them wipe their oily hands on their bumper trousers

Best chicken cottage I know. Always fresh, fast service, enough staff,polite and friendly and most importantly all tastes good! Noticed prices have gone up but guess that's the same everywhere now. Still wouldnt deter me. Been going there for 10 years now and a loyal customer. Well done guys 👏

Chicken is not consistent in texture & taste, you can definitely tell when love has been put into preparation and cooking. When its good its great.

Good fried and peri menu. However I must say once let me down when I asked for grill burger they gave me grill strips in burger rather then breast fillet. He could have told me and I would have just changed the order round to grilled strips meal.

Tried this shop for the first time. Not the best chicken shop I been to. I ordered grilled fillet burger but instead I received strip burger which was already cooked and had been warmed up again which resulted the chicken to be hard and awful taste. Do not recommend tbh

Sorry but it's terrible been to better chicken cottage around the area this was bad just didn't have the feel of being in chicken cottage food tasted very weird after one bite it was thrown out the window so the Cats and Foxes could eat. Sorry this store was a HUGE LET DOWN 😞👇

Ok their service could use an upgrade. But the chicken is amazing. The full size fried drumsticks are amazing. Meat melted like chocolate in your mouth.

Not ever coming here again paid 2 pounds for spicy chips and waited 20 min a lady who ordered a whole meal and got it first I’m currently arguing with them and saying it will come soon. Absolutely terrible

Lack of interest to serve . Don't remember when last time when the food was fresh. Only reason for going here is that it is open late at night, i-am hungry and don't have other alternative. Price wise you believe is cheap but maybe you will be better off going to a kebab shop.

Tasty peri peri chicken. I ordered from Uber eats, the order was delivered on time. It was perfectly cooked it was spicy too (as requested). Thanks for the team at Chicken Cottage. As a mistake, I rated 1* in Uber eats and since there is no way to update a rating there, I came here to write this review. Thanks for great dinner tonight!

worst food shop poor service cold food

This place is absolutely disgusting, I made a order on uber eats for just one meal which was a BBQ chicken burger with wings chips and a side. None of the food was cooked properly. The burgers presentation was god awful disgusting and just looking at it on its own out me off the whole meal. The chips and the onion rings were the worst part by far, they were pale white as if they'd only been cooked for a couple minutes and when I opened the box for the onion rings they were literally all stuck together and soggy but had moisture dripping all down them. And about the moisture it is in every single box was just dripping with water and had some odd smell too it which has honestly made this my first and last time ordering from this place, no clue how it became a shop but if I were you I would not go anywhere near this shop, you will get food poisoning.

I asked how long and the guy who was serving told me he wasn't playing and I shouldn't spoil his day. This was on 22/08/21 at 12:10. If the owner is reading this I suggest you don't put people that treat customers as such on the counter.

The most terrible grill chicken i have ever had the service is really bad and the chicken was hard you can tell that its been sitting there for long and then put it on the grill and served it We are paying for this it has been given for free Last time never buy from them again

They've got my order wrong on multiple occasions. Mistakes happen. I can let that slide. But more concerning there was a long black hair in my food. When I spoke to the shop the following day they were rude and unhelpful. Won't be coming here again.

Good service fantastic chicken both spicy and lovely peri peri chips . The food is extremely filling , proper value for money . To top it all up , it's very affordable for the quality of food you get . Definitely recommend that you try it out as you'd not regret

It okay to go but they do not have sitting and do not take cash which is not good and cash macine for free cash flow is only on bpm petrol station and cash with couple of shops is charging 99p to get cash and and there taste is not very good but food was always hot which bearable to compromise with taste.i always take away.

Good food but quiet expensive for fried food

Ordered and we received the chicken uncooked and raw, we called and they told us that nothing can be done about it, to put it in the oven for another 10-15 min. Disgraceful service. Never ever will order again from them.

Food was shockingly bad. It went straight in the bin 5 minutes after delivery. The chicken smelt like fish. Maybe change your oil once in a while.

I love the Spicy Chicken Wings and BBQ Wings and Ribs. I've been going here for the last 10years and the taste has remained true. Fresh chicken and all you can eat chilli sauce. Perfect. I pray these guys stay in business as long as I can eat chicken.

You can eat delicious food on site. They even offer discounts for regular visitors

I ordered a spicy burger meal, and the chicken was off. I believe the chicken was old and has been reheated continuously. The chips had been reheated again and again. Would not advise anyone to eat from here as I'm currently sick from the food that was given to me.

Terrible service, waited 10 mins for my order, should have ready on my arrival, Peri Peri chicken was just grilled, was missing Peri Peri sauce. Chose this outlet over KFC, very disappointed, should have stayed with my first choice, will never go again unless major changes are implemented.

I've order spicy grilld chicken wings . They said waiting time 15 to 20 min. Shop wasn't busy so i decide to stay and wait. After i 28 mins receive my order ... When i comeback home and start eating chicken wings... it was RAW near the bone!!!!! Nearly all of them!!!! Later on i was feeling bit unwell... will never choose this shop again. Hire people whom have knowledge how to cook chicken or at least provide training . Will not comeback and will not recommend this place anymore for anybody.
