When I went to pay for my meal my £10 Scottish note was not accepted. The note was a new style plastic, Bank of Scotland, the Chicken Cottage manager said this was company practice and pointed to a sign which read, Polite Notice, we do not accept Scottish Notes. I pointed out that Bank of Scotland notes are Stering legal tender, but to no avail. As a Scot and standing in a queue trying to explain that I only have Scottish notes in my wallet which I got from the Bank the day before, quite upsetting.

One of a number of food outlets in the Lowry shopping centre. I had a chicken fillet burger which was actually very tasty and a reasonable size. Came with chips and a drink for less than eight pounds. I have had a lot worse and better than some other reviews

Is this what society has become? Being barked at for your order by an assistant, who is as rude as the long line of customers. ‘Five or eight?’ they snap at me, not bothering with any other words to make the enquiry any clearer. A receipt is produced and a nod of a head to tell me to move away and stand somewhere else. The food arrives in a free-for-all flurry of trays and the search begins for a table free from the debris of the last diner. The fries are potato-less, hollow crisps, but the chicken is good. Is this the way we want our society to be? I’m not looking for fine dining, I’m not looking for silver service, but a little respect and courtesy would be nice.

We enjoyed our meal from here. We were staying nearby and visited the food court looking for a meal. The guy serving was friendly and helped us sort through the menu. We sat at one of the tables in the food court and our meals were soon ready. The chicken was good, pleasently surprised.

Whenever I visit the Lowry Outlet I always visit the Food court area for lunch. There is a fair choice from some of the other big names ie Burger King / Harry Ramsdens but I am usually drawn to Chicken Cottage. I am not drawn there for the friendly service as I have never seen anybody there smile yet and you're lucky if you get any conversation out of them! I am drawn there as the chicken and chips are tasty and very good value for money. The tables are shared by all the food outlets and are kept clean. You wouldn't take anybody there to impress them but for a quick snack at lunch very good.

Small portions, miserable service, vile chicken, poor value - don’t even bother for a quick snack, just go hungry.

The food is good and less greasy than KFC, although I order something that was not immediately ready service delivery time was good. Unfortunately the member of staff serving appeared to in interested and cold mannerisms. Also, a polystyrene container for the burger is not exactly saving the planet and this should now be cardboard.

today Nov 11th we visited the Lowry Outlet before going to the theatre. We wanted a snack so we chose ckicken from the chicken cottage. The chicken strip meal was very good(if a little too spicy) my only concern is the place is manned by men who couldn't quite manage the language, and if I hadn't question the price I had been charged They would have got away with a £2.80 overcharge.........all because the guy serving me was new and couldn't speak English.

Today 6/9/2017 I entered the Lowry outlet at 3.30.. pm did a little shop. Walking past the food court, thought I'll have chicken cottage... Ordered 3 piece chicken meal.. The staff was 2 men , didn't even look at me .. served me without speaking... I took the food to my car as I was continuing on my journey, drove out of the Lowry , took a bite of the chicken Oh my Lord it was the worse taste ever !!! I pulled over and the smell was disgusting... I want to complain but there doesn't seem to be anything on the website.. I have still got the chicken with me which I'm going to get it nvestigated!

I like this place- its a quick needed fix and serves it's purpose perfectly. Its fast and quick and the food is always on point! I like to grab a quick bite here before going to the cinema sometimes- (or take it into the cinema hehe). The BBQ chicken strips are perfect and they always put in a couple more! Great staff.

Out with my friends 12 yr old daughter I went to another outlet and was served within 5 minutes despite being 3rd in queue. My friends daughter was 2nd in queue but did not get served for 20 minutes and several adults got served before her when she challenged this the staff were very rude to her. To top it all the chicken nuggets were almost cold we definitely won't be revisiting this place

After the imperial war museum we walked over to the Lowry outlet mall to take a short break to eat alittle something. We stumbled into the food court and well....chicken is always good. 😊. The 3 pieces of 'hot & spicy chicken' for 1,99 & the onion rings (i think were 1,69 or so and 10 pieces..perfect!). were i must say...hot from temperature and spicy' GOOD! The onions rings freshly fried. Crispy and perfectly hot! We were very surprised but glad that our snack was yummy. Sorry no picture. Just forgot because they looked delicious.

Chicken Cottage is in The Lowry's food court area. Having been less than impressed on a previous occasion with it's nearby neighbour, Burger King, we decided to try Chicken Cottage when we wanted a quick bite. It took a little while for the food to be served but this meant that everything was freshly cooked. I chose spicy barbecue chicken- this was perhaps more spicy than I expected but the chicken was delicious and succulent. The chips were really good and I'll certainly go back there- but next time to choose something less spicy! Good value for money.

I'm a big fan of fast food, especially fried chicken. So on my last visit to the Lowry i visited Chicken Cottage. The member of staff was really polite and helped answer a few questions as it was my first time here. The service was quick, efficient and polite. The food was Really Good and the fries were to die for!! They had a crispy, crunchy exterior that i has not come across before in a fast food place, i just had to go back for more. I urge any other chicken lover to try chicken cottage if ever in the Lowry and do ask for a large portion of their fries.

Went here before going to a show in the lowry. I wouldn't really call it fast food as we waited ages, as did others. Hubby and I ordered the wrap meals at £4.99 for a wrap, few fries and a drink. 5 people behind the counter with one on the till and one getting the food ready, others just nattering whilst people were waiting to be served. The lad serving.....well not the happiest of people, not even a please or thank you. food quite average, but you get what you pay for. won't be returning.

I went to the Lowry food court with my seven year old daughter for a bit of lunch. I'd earlier had an all you can eat breakfast from Harvester so I wasn't too hungry and decided to get one meal to share between us. The food court has a range of food outlets to choose from including amongst others Burger King and Harry Ramsden's but my daughter is a chicken nugget monster so as far as she was concerned Chicken Cottage was the only way to go. I ordered a £4.99 nine piece chicken nugget meal which included fries and a drink (we opted for Sunkist orange) which we opted to "take out" as it was a Saturday lunchtime and every table at the food court was occupied. The nuggets were fine, I quite enjoyed the thin, crispy batter. The fries were standard fast food fries and the orange was, well, orange. I'd say that it was better than McDonald's but that's hardly saying anything. Personally if I ever find myself back in the Lowry food court and get to choose what I want I'll probably try the Indian place but if you want fried chicken this place is ok.

We had used pizza parlour on and off quite a lot over 4 years or so,food used to be good and reasonable, the last time we had a delivery was over 5 months ago and won't be ordering again from here, the guy who answers the phone is surly, rude and abrupt. The last takeaway we had was absolutely disgusting, the toppings looked liked they were thrown on cheap tasteless toppings, the pizza dough was too thick and soggy,if I've had a burger the bun is soggy and falls to bits obviously cheap .the fries always turn up either limp or overcooked. I'm only posting this on account of a friend who has had similar issues. I feel sorry for the 2 delivery guys who are always chatty polite and friendly.

Apparently a bottled drink and a cookie are not part of the meal deal.. Had a steak melt Cookie and bottled drink (Robinsons) charged £10.04 . Asked the server about the £9.79 advertised and got told the bottle drink is 30p extra . I didn’t do well in maths at school but this is a rip off .
