Chi Chi Asian Kitchen in Belfast

I have used chi chi for a good few years, though I hadn't been for a while as the last few times I felt the food was below par & very salty. However, I decided to give them another go tonight, 4.10.24, and I was not disappointed ! The chow mein was lovely - thin noodles, not greasy and loads of veg and spices. I don't know if they've changed the chef, but whatever they've done has made all the difference. Back to the good old chi chi.

Bad review mainly due to the menu not being accurate and when I spoke to the staff it is not their fault and I should know better. As if I wrote their menu!! Was all my fault for asking why my order received did not match what was ordered. They went on to complain about just eat and how they did not care about my order or my point of view. Too expensive for basis Chinese takeaway, better places out there.

Awful staff and average food. Better available. Their own menu has items that they staff contest and say aren’t right. Such a weird setup. No care for customers so I can only imagine little care put into food.

I never received my order it would have been quicker to have walked to the takeaway and order it over the counter .

Best chinese take out in the east of Ireland!! I’ve lived up and down the A1/M1 and tried many different takeouts along the way and this one’s the best! Staff are lovely and the foods slaps (insanely good) with good portions you can stretch to 2 meals we usually get honey chilli, chicken balls and beef chow mein, chefs kiss, brilliant!

has to be the worst order I ever had from Chi Chi. Crispy Duck had zero crispy skin and was full of unrendered fat and the special curry- you couldn't find the meat. total disappointment and something Chi Chi needs to remedy...

Haven’t ordered from chi chi in a long time and won’t be ordering again, it used to be my favourite Chinese, food has really gone down hill, portion size smaller and more expensive, ordered over £15 worth of stuff didn’t even get free prawn crackers and £4 for a bag is ridiculous! Will stick to where I normally go!

I had green pepper in bad condition put me off to eat the rest of the food

After a slight delay we received or order. Delivery driver was nice and pleasant. We ordered sliced chicken with curry and chips. The reason was because my wife does not like bones on chicken because of a bad experience choking on a chicken bone and being hospitalised. When we got our food it was a whole chicken breast on the bone. We had to bin all the food because of this unfortunately. Will not order again.

Over cooked chips, over cooked salt chilli chicken. Curry like water. Last time I order.

The best black bean sauce I have tried anywhere in South Belfast hands down, it's not watery nor is it like a lazy change to a black pepper it's simply outstanding! Excellent Chicken gyozas with a dipping vinegar that I could drink and a fantastic Satay either as a meal or on skewers as a starter its great! Honestly doesn't look like much outside or in but the kitchen is clean and the owner/ head chef is a very nice guy and the foods always great.

Ordered garlic chips but got chips covered in sugar and no garlic which were absolutely disgusting . Also ordered salted chilli Chicken but got a salted chilli chip instead which was also revolting.

First time ordering from here and will definitely be returning, portions were huge, food was delicious, nicest salt n chilli chicken ever and decent prices. 5*****

Food was delicious and came within 20 mins of ordering. Highly recommended getting from here and would definitely order from here again. Reasonable price too and throughly enjoyed 😉

The delivery came in time but was missing two dishes. I had to call Chi Chi and they said they would send the food out. Unfortunately this took another 40 minutes to arrive which meant my food was cold and had to be reheated. When I called Chi Chi the first encounter was polite. The second call however had them debating the items they hadn’t sent. So they knew they hadn’t sent items. The food was ok but I don’t think I will be ordering from them again

Twice the order has been cancelled on just eat. The first time we were told a £17 order was too small an order. The second time they cited that they were too busy to deliver to our area which is right up the street, 5 min drive. Thinking it has more to do with the post code. Staff are incredibly rude and flippant

I ordered 2 soups they came all over the bag nothing in the box and yet the driver didn't have a clue... and best about it .. 2 cans of coke0 also and the bottom of the same bag the cans were so hot... staff here needs training on how to pack a bag. What a waste of time and money

I have been a regular customer here for years and have always enjoyed their food. However Monday night I realised just how little respect they have for their customers. I ordered food for nearly £30 and was missing half the meal which left someone hungry without any food. We called chichi and explained that we were mising half the food. We called a further 6 times and had our number was blocked because they didn't believe we were telling the truth. We were called a liar several times over the phone which was incredibly disrespectful. The staff should have been able to rectify a simple make without shouting over the phone. Avoid at all costs.

I get out of chi chis every week, no other Chinese restaurant or takeaway comes close to the flavours and quality. Highly recommend the salted chilli chips with peking chicken. Treat yourself, Thank me later

Ordered just after 6.15... food got here at 8.40pm..... left a note on the food order and was just Ignored.....shocking customer service. Seems like if u use just eat your pushed to the back of the queue...

The food at Chi Chi is tasty, but last night when I came to collect my order it had been made wrong (sauce put on rather than on the side). I was happy to take it as was, but wasn't offered that option; it was taken back and the lady at the desk said she would take it home. Nobody apologised, the chef looked very unhappy, and I had to stand and wait while the order was re-made; I wouldn't have minded this if I'd even been asked what I would prefer! I've come to Chi chi for years but this along with prices going up to make it very expensive and charging for prawn crackers now as well, I won't be back

Absolutely disgusting. Have eaten from here before and it was good but tonight was awful! The salt chilli chicken starter had no flavour, the chicken curry couldn’t even be described as that! The chicken was literally jelly- I have even taken photos it was so bad! We also asked for cashew nuts in the curry and this was ignored. I have never known a Chinese restaurant not to send prawn crackers with an order! Never again!

Avoid! Flavourless food which in some cases is totally inedible. We ordered spring rolls which were ok but the salt chilli chicken starter was tasteless! The chicken curry was supposed to have cashews as we requested but request was ignored! Also the chicken was DEFINITELY not chicken- see the photo and judge for yourself- zoom if you need to get a proper look! It was like jelly. We couldn’t eat any of it as it was so bad. £29 down the drain! Have never known a Chinese not to send prawn crackers with an order! Never again!

First time ordering and all I can say is WOW food absolutely unreal so fresh , huge portions and worth every penny, food arrived about 45 mins early which is great especially on a Friday night even my other half loved it and he's fussy with Chinese food the best Chinese we've ever had , if you have ordered from here do highly recommend our new fav Chinese 👌👌

Took over 90 minutes for the Chinese to arrive and we live 5 minutes away, wasn’t a big order so no reason for it to take so long, arrived 10 minutes after the time stated

Had a problem with my drink not being delivered but quickly sorted out after calling restaurant .

Under cooked rubbery and slimey chicken, will never be ordering again, absolutely disgraceful sending food like that out to paying customers!

My order was cancelled over 2 hours after it was placed. I phoned half an hour after receiving a text that it was on the way (much later than the predicted delivery window), my call was hung up and when I rang back I was placed on hold before I could even speak. The girl that spoke to me had an rude attitude when I explained that we had been waiting over an hour and a half at that point and said that the driver was out and it should arrive soon. I asked for an update via JustEat by text and was told it would arrive 15 mins later. I was given the option via the app to ask for a partial refund as the food was so late which I did. Next thing I get a message saying the restaurant cancelled my order! What a disgrace. I wasn't rude or demanding at any stage and I hate complaining but this whole situation was complete nonsense and I will never order from here again.

Had a missed call from delivery driver, called him back litterally 60 seconds later. He has a go at me for not answering my phone. Get the food order is wrong we were given 2x beef curries instead of 2x chicken balls. Called the restaurant which took over 20 attempts to get through due to busy Saturday which is fair enough. Explain to girl on the phone she apologieses and says she will send the chicken balls out now and for us to return the beef Currys. And informed me that the driver will leave now and bring it straight to us so that our rice isn't cold. 50 mins later the same rude delivery driver arrives asking why we couldn't just eat what we were given in the first place. What a horrible man. Anyway we now have the correct order and piping hot chicken balls however cold rice, so the order obviously wasn't sent when the restraint said it would be. Awful service

Food was great - salt n chilli king prawns were the highlight but everything was really tasty. Service was great as well, order arrived in less than the time stated (which hungover me was v grateful for lol). Big shouts to the delivery driver who turned up and let me know the drink I ordered had been forgotten, but he turned up at my door again with it 10 minutes later even though I said it was totally grand. Was much appreciated. Have a lovely new year, I'll be back! X

Food was of a really high standard and at a reasonable price. Was delivered in good time and I would recommend and use again.

Order had taken 2 hour to be delivered then came with no chips or noodles. When I rang the restaurant they said what I had ordered only came with 1 side I tried explain I was charged extra for the noodles and if it only came with 1 side why did the just eat app prompt me to pick to side. The person I spoke on phone said they only send on or the other. The food also arrived cold. The order total was £41

Food was a full hour late, staff lied on the phone, driver got the address wrong. Worst of all were the attitudes of the owner on the phone and the driver in person - couldn't have cared less.

Very late delivery tonight, but that’s not usually the case. Great food. Love Kimchi. Please, please offer skinny noodles. It’s the only reason we order from China Express.

Over an hour late… not great all round special fried rice was tasteless

Food was ordered at 07:20pm. Delivery time was an hour, when it came to just over an hour we contacted the restaurant who said it would then be delivered at 08:50pm. That time came and went and we decided to cancel it, the delivery then showed up half an hour later and the delivery driver left it on the door step and left.

Food took 1 hour and 40 mins to arrive. Staff were extremely unfriendly over the phone. Food was freezing and hair was in food. Wouldn’t recommend.

Delivery time stated between 19:20-19:40. App stated “Order is with the driver and on the way” from 19:20ish but didn’t arrive until just before 8.
