My husband and I have just had the most disgusting and overpriced takeaway from this place (via Just Eat). My husband had sweet and sour chicken balls - undercooked - so not too bad, but the piece de resistance (and yes I am being ironic) was my crispy Aromatic duck; which wasn’t crispy or aromatic and in fact there was so little meat I’m not even sure it WAS duck. 5 pancakes (one of which was torn), a very small and fatty piece of duck and watered down plum sauce. Disgusting!

I was happy to wait an hour for my takeaway as Saturday night is a busy time. The food was piping hot, and portions were large, but it tasted awful. Vegetable spring rolls were very bland and greasy. So was the chicken chow mein. The mixed vegetables were bland and overcooked and the bamboo shoots were so woody they were inedible. Banana fritters were a soggy mess, with whole bananas instead of slices. The meal I'd been looking forward to so much went in the bin. A complete waste of £20.

We always buy here, this is the first time it happened when we ordered chicken cheswan we noticed that the chicken is spoilt. We will never go there again.we straight away got abdominal pain,

Sólo acerca de la comida bien, aquí es el mejor plato de ternera con salsa de alubias negras. Está más cerca de casa y el último recurso para llevar. Tienes que dar por lo menos 20 minutos para conseguir su comida preparada.

We have used this Chinese for about 12 years even though we have never lived near Cheylesmore. We have lived in Henley Green, Tile Hill and now Allesley and always stayed loyal to Cheylesmore House, because it is good. last year it went through a bit of a bad spell, food was not up to the usual Standard, service was not as good as previous years, I believe it was because of the new system they introduced for home delivery. It became very very busy, probably too busy for them to handle. It meant when they were at their busiest they slightly took their eye off the important things like the quality of the food and the service, but I am glad to say it seems to be back to it's best now. Good food, pleasant friendly service fair price. Keep up the good work 👍👍.

Have ordered many times from this place and had a delivery tonight. The food is pretty good and can rely on getting well made tasty dishes every time. Ordered 1/4 duck tonight (we hadn't had it from here before). When it arrived it was chopped up with crispy batter mixed in??? Never seen this before so we phoned back and asked if this was a mistake as the menu didn't describe the dish like this. They said that's how the make it...... # Now, here's the good bit...... - they said that they would happily change the dish to be how we expected it to be in the first place, and they delivered it to the door soon after with a sincere apology from the delivery chap for not meeting our expectations the first time! The dish was delicious. Listen up local businesses, this is how you get repeat business and loyal customers coming back time and time again. Food is only part of the experience nowadays!

I often visit after the pub and the noodles and crispy chicken always tastes good. I have a few scoops of curry sauce on my chips too and they taste champion.

Used to use this chinese all the time until i discovered the Ruby in Fenside, the Ruby has now closed down so went back to Cheylesmore house. What a difference! Went in ordered curry sauce and chip's ready in minutes. I live less than a minute away in the car and by the time i got home the chip's were soggy and cold. My thought is that they had been cooked for an order and were left sitting on the side and they gave them to me. Thought i would give another chance today and ordered house special fried rice. Tasteless. The sauce was just like water, the prawn were little tiny thing's unlike the big prawns they used to give. Hard bit's of beef. I feel like it has changed hand's and nowhere near as nice as used to be!. £6.40 wasted. Won't be giving it a 3rd chance!!

Ive been comin here for 20+ years an standards have slipped with the quality and taste of food. My last visit i ordered over 20 pounds worth of food an when it came to the chicken balls they were under cooked pink and tasted horrible. So dissappointed and disheartened by this.

Been coming here 20+ years and for me it's the number one Chinese in Coventry. Standards havent slipped in all that time. 2 things that stop it getting a 5. 1. It's so busy you often have to wait a while for your food or for them to answer the phone - this is testament to how good it is though. 2. Occasionaly if you order early on Friday or Saturday night you get the previous nights re heats especially chow mein. Can be oil drenched and a bit dissapointing. I've said a few times on the phone i dont want re heats and they made sure it's fresh. Annoying they let them selves down a bit doing that because they are so busy they are penny pinching but oh well it's business i suppose.

We tend to use Cheylesmore House Chinese every Saturday night, food is wonderful and always ready at time stated. Would recommend house special!!

My favourites are chicken curry and special chow mein. With the latter you need to be very hungry as the portions are very generous. Price is good and the staff are very friendly. They take over the phone orders. Their hygiene rating is 5 star which is important.

OK portion size and fast service. All of the food was bland and tasteless, not worth the money they charge. We will not returning.

Cheylesmore house is the best chinese takeaway in coventry by far. Decent portions and very tasty food. now deliver so even better. 10/10. Never been dissapointed and would reccommend anyone.

Cheylesmore's local Chinese takeaway is always busy and generally pretty nice. I've only had my few regular dishes and haven't tried the whole menu but the portions are generous and the food is always tasty.
