The best and my fav take away Chinese food in Luton, used to be "Blossom Garden" I am a loyal customer since 1999♡

I reviewed this place six years ago, formerly Blossom Garden. It was my all-time favourite Chinese takeaway and I rated it five stars. It ended up getting shut down with a zero hygiene rating. It rebranded, and in the most backwards fashion, as the hygiene rating has improved, the food has gone massively downhill. The things that made this place the best… chunky chips, excellent shredded chilli beef and tasty sauces are all no longer. The place is a shadow of its former self. I no longer live in the area, but travelled almost half an hour to get here and it was a real let down. The BBQ sauce is flavourless, the shredded chilli beef whilst still crispy, had next to no sauce, chicken balls borderline soggy and they forgot my chips. I won’t be returning. It’s a real shame, but the fall from grace is striking.

I have been coming to this takeaway for nearly 40 years and I have to say since being taken over from Blossom garden to Cherry house although the hygiene rating has improved the food quality of when Alice and her husband ran it has declined massively. Flavourless BBQ sauce which was lovely before, sweet and sour Hong Kong chicken with barely any sauce and pretty dry, shredded chilli beef with hardly any of the sweet chilli sauce in the bottom, the chunky chips stopped, phoned and complained and received 10 percent off for the food to be the same on my next visit, sadly my visits are now finished.

Food was lukewarm. For £30 you expect better Very disappointing won’t be returning

Ordered for delivery. After two calls to the restaurant, an hour and a half later, still no food. Apparently due to a new taxi driver who delivered to the wrong address... Weirdly, the wrong order didn't arrive here! Offered to cook the order again but we declined... don't really want to eat that late at night. What annoys most is the fact that they clearly lied. Our order was never cooked or sent...

The food came on time but was ice cold, the restaurant had only opened at 5, food came at 6, there’s no way it was freshly cooked and then cold in that time. Awful food, really need to do better than that.

I think I’ve had better food from a waste bin. It was not cooked properly at all my chips were not even chips just cold chopped hard potato harder than a brick. The noodles looked and tasted like shredded cardboard I think this place needs to be re taught how to cook food properly. And to wait an hour for food to be delivered from a driver who walked over my elderly man’s garden and that made her very angry. Called up and got offered a 10 percent off the next visit as if I would be back there and there stale cold mess I highly recommend this place figure out how to run a business and sort out there website not a single person finished the meals we had very much so not happy A report to food hygiene will be done

Expired food reheated. I had the diarrhea special.

Out standing food best Chinese cuisine around

We tried here as it was recommended to us. The food was absolutely lovely full of flavour. We will most definitely be coming back.

Driver arrived late 40 minutes after notification order had left, food cold and horrible. Definitely not freshly cooked. Whole order barely any warmth, curry sauce spilt all over order in bag. Despite ringing and being told driver had just left when we’d received notification driver had left 30minutes prior to telephone so they lied. Food cold disgusting and def not freshly cooked as supposed crispy/chip items all soggy

Food was just ok, chips were cold and hard, satay chicken was boring and I asked for no onions in the beef curry but came with half the tub full, won’t be ordering again. Much better options around for the price

Over 2 hours for food to be delivered, multiple phones calls made to be repeatedly told delivery driver left over 45minutes ago and they didn’t know where he was. Food arrived stone cold and despite telling delivery driver it was cold, was told nothing he can do, maybe ring next time and they might offer 10%off. Food cold, dry ribs and chicken burnt inside batter chicken balls so chicken precooked/reused leftovers before covering in batter for sweet & sour chicken balls. Told them to cancel and refund our order because driver hadn’t arrived, they refused cancel/refund order after more then 2hrs before driver turned up with cold food. Never again

Thought id try somewhere new, what a joke. Estimated arrival 18.35 and here it's now 19.30. Call the restaurant and they just say 'driver is on the way'. May be the best food in the world but who knows if it never gets here and restaurant don't seem bothered. The fact this place charges £4.99 for delivery too!

Ordered beef with crispy noodles, the noodles were not crispy. Very disappointing. Food was tasty & hot.

Best Chinese takeaway round here. I've ordered about 6 times and it has always been great. Always Hot,fresh,on time and tasty. Perfect

AWFUL FOOD, SORRY, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Absolutely terribly chicken very dry along with the beef chow main. An hour late on delivery and just laughed and said sorry I only live 4 mins round the corner! Sweet and sour sauce vinegary DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!!!!

The food was nice except for the fact that the sweet and sour pork had no pork. It was all fat. Every bite you took it was fat and no meat. Quite disappointing

V happy with food & great service. My one critisism would be the delivery fee of £3 flat rate is a bit of a put off tbh. Perhaps if over a certain amount delivery could be free.

Was really disappointed in the food. This is the first time ordering since it’s been refurbished and me and the family were very disappointed. We were regulars before. The food was not up to standard at all. We won’t be ordering from here again.

It is a good variety on the menu, but the presentation lets it down - sauces are much too strong. the house rice is just layered. starter platter had sweet ribs on top of sour satay, which really doesn't work. It is clear the desire is there, but corners need to be square, not cut.

Very poor service, new management doesn't seem to make a difference it seems. We had to wait well over an hour for our food, which when using the new online order service it says 45-60 min. After calling the shop 3 different times and each time I was given a different awnser it made it clear that this place was not going to be used again by us.

1st time ordering with these as though we would give them a try. Poor service!! Had to call on several occasions to chase up a delivery to be told it'll be 5 minutes or driver is there. 2 hours later same excuse without any apology. Told them to cancel the order and still no apology. Ordered from elsewhere. Definitely won't be using them again.

Still great tasting food. I hadn't ordered from here for years, since moving further away but decided to drive the extra miles, as we used to love Blossom Gardens and thought we,d give it another try. I was so glad to see the food still looks and tasted good. Love the crispy chilli beef and sweet n sour chicken. The price was reasonable too and I Will definitely drive the other side of Luton for a good Chinese.

The shop is re-opened today. The food is delicious. This the takeaways I like most.

I've been a customer of Blossom Garden for 35 years on and off and I've always been happy. My favourite food from here is their special fried rice and their EXTREMELY LOVELY bbq sauce. I've never found a bbq sauce anywhere near as good as BG's and I absolutely love, love, love it. I've always found the staff very friendly and helpful and the owner always gave a treat for the kids in the bag. UPDATE - Very, very disappointed to see their latest Food Hygiene Score of '0' (ZERO) given in April. No idea what's happened to the delicious BBQ sauce but the last 2 times it's been really quite thin, runny and not as tasty as usual. Also, no sign of garlic or any other chopped up nice things that used to be found in it. Not sure if this is just a mid week thing, maybe a different Chef? Not happy though as this is the main reason why I use this take away, I really hope that's it's not a permanent change to the way it's made because that would be a crying shame. I hate to say it but due to recent disappointments, I think that I need to go somewhere else for the take away.
