Overpriced for what you get. I like the quirky nature of it and the philosophy of the place but the staff are a little reserved so don’t come across that friendly and the prices are extortionate. Food is reasonably good but still doesn’t seem to represent good value in anyway. Maybe check the menu before sitting down. It’s one of those places that if you like it, you’re probably loving it. For most though, it’s not quite the right setting or quality for the prices charged.

Breakfast expensive for what you get. £11 for 5 items and didn’t fill us up at all. There was a 6th item but didn’t have it as didn’t like. Asked if we wanted toast or mushrooms for an extra charge. Could have let us have toast instead of the item we didn’t like but no. You should get toast anyway for £11 it only costs a couple Pence. Signs everywhere saying if you don’t smile you won’t be served, they excepts laughs and fun etc but staff were miserable. Wasn’t a good experience and won’t be back oh and they don’t accept cash Which u don’t know until u go to pay at the end. Must say the sausage was nice though, u could taste cider in it. We saw some more reasonable places afterwards which we will try next time.

We visited on a damp Sunday morning. Cherries, luckily, was open before 10am. We were met by a lovely lady who gave us menus which offered a range of good food. My husband asked for something not on the menu and they made it for him. Coffee very good. I recommend having the coffee black(I normally have skimmed milk in my coffee ,skimmed milk was not available, so glad it wasn't ).My husband breakfast was very good. Would reccomend a visit.

This was a return visit after visiting in the quiet winter months, this time with with my daughter, son in law and granddaughter. Welcomed by 2 blonde ladies with big smiles immediately offered menus and a highchair, found storage for our large pushchair and interacted playfully with my granddaughter (a real plus). Took our drink order and quickly returned to take our food order, we had already been informed of unavailable menu item which seemed alot but we made our choices from what was available. Upon seeing my granddaughter getting restless the waitress seamlessly took our order then handed my granddaughter paper and pen and asked her to draw a picture of her favourite ice cream (a lovely touch). Food arrived in reasonable time but was for want of a better word shocking, looked like dinners plated for home no seasoning, garnish or greenery apart from a small sad salad with the hotdog. Such a shame after such lovely interactive service. Couldn't bring myself to tell the staff when asked. Next time we will be going elsewhere!

Visited on Saturday 18th May for light refreshments having heard about their sister branches at Abbey Farm, Abbotsbury and The Lemon Tree, West Bexington. There were 4 members of staff which could be heard but not seen. We saw the sign saying take a seat and we will take your order at the table if not ring the bell!! We waited and waited and in the end went up to the till. There was not many people dining there. It was confusing as we were not sure what they sold as there was no menu to hand or on display. There were signs saying fresh local ingredients, cocktails, events etc…. The girl on the till area then said did we want to see a menu so I said ok. We decided to order milkshakes and slice of lemon cake to share. When they arrived they were lovely (tip, please give a spoon too as too thick for the paper straw), plus an extra fork for cake. The food served to the 2 other customers there did look nice. The music stopped and they carried on chatting out the back. I went back to the till and had to shout ‘shop’ to get their attention. Underwhelming experience could have been so much better. There are so many options in West Bay and this has put me off going here again, perhaps an off day for them?

Stopped for coffee and cakes following a dog walk. Water bowls and treats on offer for our dogs (we sat outside). Fantastic cakes and staff could tell me the ingredients as either made on site or by local business.

Came in on a rainy mid week morning before a coastal walk on my holiday. Pleasant warm welcome and useful local knowledge from the girl/lady on the counter. Due to being the only customer service was very quick and the food was good.......however whilst waiting for my breakfast to be made all I could hear was a very loud, clearly upset gentleman from the kitchen talking to the visibly embarrassed waitress about a list of jobs they had been given as well as other grievances he had about working there. Unfortunately the funky 80s music (great choice) was not loud enough to drown the young man out and made for a rather awkward experience.

Only popped in for a cup of tea, staff weren't overly friendly but not rude. About £2.60 for a cup of tea which isn't too bad but isn't cheap. It was a bit too trendy inside for my personal liking but others may like it. If you need somewhere to eat and shelter from the rain it's probably ok but I wouldn't make a special trip here.

My wife asked for a frozen berry drink as advertised on the board. When it was made, it wasn't frozen but was a warm berry drink. No apology given, it was made to look like our problem, but we were offered a refund which I took.

Lovely cafe. Nice decor and funky coloured lighting. We had the 'Cherries' Breakfast and it was delicious 😋 The locally sourced sausages were extremely tasty and the breakfast was presented well. The staff were attentive and plesant. We knew there would be a wait for food as it clearly states that on the Menu as the food is cooked from fresh. We enjoyed it so much we went back the following day, I had the breakfast again and my partner had the Salmon and scrambled egg. Again, the food was lovely. We have no complaints and shall definitely be returning in the future 🙂

Very yummy breakfast:-) The cafe is beautifully decorated, light and airy. The only downside to our visit was the cafe seemed to be over staffed. Which wouldn’t be a problem but it did mean that the girls were stood chatting behind the counter and weren’t particularly focused on serving which resulted quite a long wait to be served.

We took a day trip to West Bay as used to holiday there regularly. We decided to try cherries as used to visit the café that was there. A sandwich, cheese and ham toastie, cup of tea and a Pepsi were £20 plus! Kids had burger and fries and a sandwich and drink another £25. Very expensive and average tasting. No crisps just a tiny salad with both. No sauce offered had to go and ask for it. The lady that served us was lovely but that was the only positive thing. I know food is expensive but £10 for a cheese and ham toasties in my opinion is extortionate.

Not very impressed with the service at cherries. It was extremely slow and lacking any care and attention. I get that it may have been busy, but, you don’t let the customers see the stress. Our drinks were forgotten twice and our food arrived before the drinks The food was delicious apart form parts of the breakfasts being cold and the order being wrong. My husband asked for no hash browns but with mushrooms and it came out with hash brown and no mushrooms. We felt like a complete nuisance to the waiting staff. We have been in there several times before and normally it’s lovely food and great service, so, hopefully this was a blip.

So pleased to see that since our last visit ham, egg and chips and sandwiches are on the menu. Our sandwiches were so delish as were the cakes The staff were friendly and the chef was very helpful and accommodating. Looking at the meals that other diners had ordered we just wished that we had more time to order a meal. Definitely worth visiting if you are in West Bay.
