Chequers Inn Binham in North Norfolk

Went in at the weekend for a Sunday Roast and food was superb. The team were so friendly and the same could be said for the locals. Will certainly be back!

Lovely pub, lacked a bit of atmosphere when we went but I can imagine it's good when a few more people get in .

I had the Tuesday special, soup and a pudding for £10. Both were delicious and I plan to go again.

Such a nice friendly place, my partner is vegan and has some allergies but despite being very busy, the staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful trying to accommodate us and make us welcome. They were very happy to make a vegan meal if booked in advance but in the end we were happy with making a meal from the very generous sides of chips, onion rings, mixed salad, coleslaw and olives. Had a beer up on the terrace watching the sunset as well, top pub, top people.

Thought this looked a nice place to stop for an evening meal. There were people eating but plenty of empty tables too. I stood at the bar, the lady seving ignored me and served someone elsd who i took to be local as she called him by his name. He had come to the bar a good 2 minutes after me. She the asked if we wanted food or just a drink. I said food and she just said there's no spare tables. I looked around the bar and could see at least four or five with no reserved signs. Felt very unwelcoming. Bit like something from The League of Gentlemen. Found a very warm welcome at a pub in the next village.

Had a very enjoyable birthday lunch here. Staff very attentive, small menu but what they do have, they do well! I think I would have eaten every single item on the menu. Great special selection too.

Stopped here for lunch and I am very glad I did. It is a comfy, cosy pub with a friendly welcome, and the food was delicious (I had pan-fried sea bream and marzipan Panna cotta). They have a great selection of local ales and ciders as well.The service was excellent and the prices were very reasonable compared to other establishments in the area. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the vicinity.

Very friendly & accommodating staff!

We arrived an hour before the kitchen closed but were accommodated without fuss. The pub was accessible for my sister who is a wheelchair user and my mum who is unsteady in her feet. We had a beautifully cooked meal that was fresh and so tasty. My mum and sister had the prawn and crab linguine and I had the chicken supreme. Both were delicious. Desserts were also first class. Reasonably priced, no fuss, quality food. Great friendly service and a great selection of drinks at the bar.

We came in for a steak-(none on the menu)-and had a king prawn linguine instead. It was good but a little bland, it tasted like it had been seasoned a little, after cooking, rather than during. Atmosphere was lovely, apart from lots of flies! Good range of drinks. Helpful and attentive staff.

Went for the Monday Madness lunch followed by a brilliant summer pudding. Both courses were lovely, very good value and exceeded my expectations. Staff attentive and friendly. Couldn't ask for more

Excellent friendly village pub. Lovely staff serving a great range of ales. We both had Loaded Three Bean Chilli Nachos (v), salsa, guacamole, sour cream, spring onions, jalapeños | £8.25. An excellent lunch break on our bike ride. Highly recommend!

On arriving know tables available, was told we should have phoned to book a table ,that only works if they answer the phone as had been trying for couple of hours on and off and know answer!

Lovely friendly pub, great selection of real ales, fantastic food including pub classics and specials board. The staff could not have been more attentive & friendly. Definitely worth a visit - thank you for a lovely evening.

Fantastic friendly pub with great food! We went in with our child and dog and couldn’t have felt more welcome, and lunch was really lovely, with local beers as well. Excellent.

Visited The Chequers tonight for a meal followed by live music. The Food was lovely & my steak cooked perfectly, a great choice of drinks, 3 or 4 real ales, 3 or 4 ciders and the same for lagers & a large choice of soft drinks. The staff are absolutely lovely, all really friendly weather you're a local or holidaymaker. Really dog friendly too. I would highly recommend this fabulous 'proper' pub but would strongly suggest booking. I've been a few times now & it's always busy which creates a great atmosphere.

Only had drinks so can’t comment on food, but if you want a ‘proper’ English pub then this is it! Simple and no frills, but a great pub with good character and good local beers on draught.

Quick stop here for a drink whilst out for a walk. Very quiet, friendly staff.

Stopped here various times for lunch whilst travelling up to the coast, lovely unspoilt pub, food always good with friendly and excellent service.

Such a warm friendly place in a sleepy village. Log burning fire and board games. Serves food, real ale, everything else you'd expect, and a good selection of spirits. Even sells locally made paintings and prints. Very friendly chatty staff, and patrons to match.

What a lovely friendly pub. Staff were fantastic so helpful I unfortunately got bitten yesterday and had no antihistamine treatment with me. The lovely ladies sorted it out. Had a really good Sunday lunch and then onto the pharmacy. Sorted. Thankyou for going out of your way to help me. And your food and all off you so helpful and friendly. We will go back this week again to eat. X

Just popped in for some lunch on the off chance of a table for 2 and was promptly seated, service was great. This is the second time we have been here after walking round the Abbey can't wait to go back.

I loved this place! Always a little apprehensive about going into a local pub when I'm not a local however, the staff was friendly and amazing. Really made you think you belong. Found us a table (space can be tight) and provided us with a beautiful meal. Hubby and son went for burgers as usual- didn't disappoint and I had the pie which was celeriac and was the best pie I have had for a long time ( and I'm an excellent cook) every single member of staff we came across made us feel that we was welcome and when you have a tribe of teens and a young granddaughter in tow that is invaluable. Toilets clean and would recommend to other campers,visitors or locals. Would love this to be our local. Thank you girls you hard work shines through.

What a lovely find. We are staying about half an hour away and wanted somewhere to eat with our two children. Staff were lovely and found us a spot to sit. Food was delicious and very generous portion sizes, including the children's meals. Well priced for excellent freshly made food.

I came here to get some food with my young son, to start beer was lovely, the bar tender, however was quite dismissive. I ask if we could eat and they checked with the kitchen as they were busy, understandable. I was advised that someone would be out to take my order in 15mins. 25 mins passed and no service appeard As I left I explained that it had taken too long and asked would they be able to give me a recommendation of where you eat, it was suggested that I drive to Wells and try and find a fish and chips shop!!! What an actual joke.

Food and service was very good. Beer excellent. There were 9 of us and the food arrived all together. OK there was one hiccup but didn't spoil the evening. Can recommend.

Local pub in the village where we stayed for this visit to Norfolk. Freindly service and good food, although being seated in a busy corridor next to the door to the loos wasn't ideal.

Popped in after work, had a nice cold pint of Lager sitting in the sun in the court yard.

Called in for a meal this evening. Lovely pub, lovely staff (thanks girls), great food, great beer. So all in all a really nice first visit. And a mooch round the priory to walk it all off 😁

Had a lovely meal here whilst on holiday. The food was home cooked and reasonably priced, the local beer was great. We were very warmly welcomed by the staff and felt right at home. Will remember our experience fondly and would come back in a heartbeat!

Great traditional pub serving delicious, reasonably priced food with a good selection of ales. Staff were very welcoming and had a lovely evening meal.

Lunch served from 12-2. We got there at 2 minutes past, were told the kitchen’s closed. Fail.

New Year’s Eve 2022. Great evening with excellent food and service. Italian Job themed evening. We’re in the area on a new year break and are not locals at all. Thank you for looking after us so well.

We had a superb lunch here on Friday 9th December. My wife was feeling really spoilt when she not only had a delicious braised beef, main meal but also got to enjoy a gluten and dairy free pudding! She highly recommends the apple and mincemeat crumble with vegan ice cream. In addition the meals were very good value.
