A quick feedback about chennai dosa -Coventry branch. We visited this today(being Monday and weekday) our expectations where pretty minimum! . however right from the time we entered it was very welcoming and great customer care with delicious food! We haven't received this kind of support in ordering best dishes with great inputs from any of our branches earlier. Special thanks to Diana & all the chefs who .made those delicious dishes . Specially chill fish,mutton biryani, chicken lollipop and badam milk...brilliant team. Will keep visiting Regards, Harish

I was so excited and went to restaurant but they made me upset. I ordered chicken biryani when they bring 2 pieces of chicken no flesh it was bone . So I asked waiter to bring new piece of chicken and even that one was burnt . I think they just reheating and giving they not making proper biryani very disappointed . Manager is irresponsible when I complain he smiling and I said because of your service I pay half and he charged me full price. I will post picture of burnt chicken.

Breakfast on weekends is really good but they don't provide still water(Highlands) and they doesn't allow to bring your own water, which makes me annoyed, I use Highlands water all the time,I regularly go to this place every week atleast once/twice after the multiple discussion with staff on water bottle, no more interest to go. At least you should allow the water, if you can't provide it to the customer.

Me and my pregnant wife visited today and ordered some items off the menu we have had a few times before. Not sure if the management or owners have changed not that it should make any difference but it was a displeasing atmosphere from the go but to top it off I had some chicken that I suspected was undercooked. I raised with the waiter who showed to the chef who both agreed it was just the chicken marinate that had coloured the chicken. I was not satisfied with this especially considering my wife is pregnant. Thankfully when I offered her some she refused then when I noticed the raw look of it I’m so glad she had none. The restaurant was reluctant to accept the issue and the whole meal was left untouched. I requested this item be removed from my bill which was refused until myself and my wife started to challenge the charge of it. I did agree to pay for the other food which was vegetarian therefore had no issue with paying for what we had actually eaten. After several minutes of back and forth and the manager being called it was taken off the bill however just be careful visiting this place. We don’t always cut the chicken to eat it as it’s was in smaller pieces so you don’t always notice this. Luckily we did. Poor customer service. Mistakes happen but at least accept the issue and resolve it. I’ve attached pictures for the people to see if I was wrong in what I saw. Thanks

I ordered mutton biryani today as takeaway, and when I tried it home, there was not a single piece of mutton in biryani. They charged me 9.75£ for biryani and roll. I will not come back to chennai dosa again and will not recommend it to any of my friends.

I tried many restaurants but Chennai Dosa is the number one restaurant in the Coventry. This is specially famous for different kind of dosa's and they have also varieties of non-veg and veg dishes. I highly recommend that everyone should visit there and must try once.

We love South Indian food, and it was great to discover a good dosa place when I moved to Longford. We love the dosa, utapam and curries here. Today we tried the idly with poonda gravy (whole garlic and dried red chillies in a broth!) It’s my new favourite thing! We’re vegetarian and so good food like this is very welcomed. Service is friendly and the place is bright and cheery. Can’t recommend Chennai Dosa more highly! :))

On multiple visits, I noticed that the taste of dishes varied considerably leaving me unsure of what to expect each time. The most frustrating aspect was the consistently long wait times, making dining here a test of patience. And cash only if the bill is less than £10. They need to improve their customer service ♿️✅ Wheelchair accessible entrance 🚻✅ Toilet available 🅿️🚫 You have to find a parking outside alongside the street.

Ashok served us with great compassion, acknowledging us and sat us down comfortably. The food was awesomely delicious. It made me feel like being in South India. Brought tears in my heart with all the South Indian music.

I've always been a huge fan of Chennai Dosa Coventry, two days ago when ordered my package kept spilling (couldn't have been the restaurants intention) , I was shocked as this happened twice and spoke to Mr Ashok regarding this, after this instance he mentioned that i must mention in notes to change the packaging style and he promised that it wouldn't happen again. After this , I felt very confident and placed an order , my food came in really hot and fresh and was not spilled at all! I'm so glad the restaurant decided to change the packaging. In terms of food, Chennai Dosa Coventry is the best place to go to if you're craving good authentic Indian food. I'm from Chennai and I even felt that the taste was beyond Chennai's restaurants. Thank you Mr Ashok for solving this issue and for being extremely sweet and accomodating. The restaurant is truly a gem and deserves so much more love and recognition.

The non-veg dishes we tried—chicken biriyani, mutton biriyani, tawa fish fry, and pepper chicken—were a huge disappointment. It's embarrassing to associate Chennai's name with such awful taste. Charging £10 for two small cups of chicken soup, which was basically hot cornflour water with a sprinkle of spring onions and lacking even salt, is ridiculously overpriced. It feels like the chef might be vegetarian and lacks the know-how to cook Indian non-veg dishes. Also the quantity of starters is a joke for that price. Never going here again.

We ordered couple of times bucket biryani from this place. It was good earlier. But when we ordered today it was not at all good. Chicken pieces were not cooked and rice smells very bad. It had no flavours.

South Indian food is good, but Indo-Chinese starters not so much which is forgivable. Value for money but facilities are basic. Toilets and sanitary facilities not maintained well ☹️

What an absolute waste of time and money. Just don't go here. The service is so bad that they didn't even bother bringing any plates for myself and family to eat from. The starters are children's portions and adult prices. The staff clearly just don't want to be there and seem to have a chip on their shoulder. If you really want to a dosa, go to Dosa Mama instead. Although that place is quite basic, the Dosas are better there.

Very sorry to write this review regarding the service . The man who wearing white shirt and black pant was very rude and unprofessional , no respect or concern towards the customer but the other male and female were very good and the food was very good. Very sorry to write this review

Had a great experience in Coventry compared to Birmingham, Food taste is awesome but in Birmingham not so good and also there is no card payment option, In Coventry they accept card payment. Especially chicken biriyani was out of the world

Need a good training regarding restaurant service. I hope running with non trained staff. We 2 people went and ordered food. All the orders came in with different times. We had enough experience in South Indian food. Not worth for the price. Need to change 1-Service 2-Food

Where do I start. On arrival I gave my order. There was one employee taking orders and manning the sit down service. Delivery drivers were waiting for their orders to arrive longer than I'd been there, they were also frustrated stating we always have to wait. A couple of customers ate their starters and asked for their mains to be cancelled because of the poor service. Another couple were waiting for a drink which again was taking over 15mins. I had been waiting for 25mins for my takeaway, on querying how long it would take to complete - I was told 5mins wait. At 35mins wait I asked for a refund, to which I was then told my food is being packed. Within a few minutes my order came out. The service is absolutely appauling. One person manning the front, taking orders, serving customers, taking payments, dealing with telephone orders and delivery drivers. The poor guy was getting it from all the unhappy customers but he kept his cool! The main problem here is lack of staff! At the moment, although your food is good, the poor service overrides the food. I can't recommend yourselves, or until services improves!

Authentic Indian breakfast fast. For few minutes I felt like I am in India and having Dosa with chetny and sambar

I came along with family to have Dosa as it says "Chennai Dosa" .. but they offer a set breakfast menu which includes lot of options idli, and other options along with Dosa. I felt this is unfair to the customers who cannot choose what they like to eat and instead they force a set breakfast menu... On top of it they as usual the communication and they way they talk to customers makes you feel valued cheap However after 12pm you can order from the menu which we understood after speaking to another serving staff but manager (I assume he is the manager who wears a white shirt different to other staff) sounded frustrated and very poor in explaining to a customer. Come here only if you are so desperate to have a Dosa or chutney and don't care about customer service or keep your expectations low. ---------

Standard Chennai Dosa restaurant if you have already been to other branches. Traditional indian taste of all the dishes. Strongly recommended Parking is a nightmare, service, and ambience can be better.

It’s a great place but the only thing that’s wrong is I have to wait a lot for the food and the bathrooms are not that sanitary.

Poor customer service, staff does not know how to handle and serve food hygienically. Re-cooked chicken and buriyani. If you are family and ordered the food for all, the order would not be served at a time. Never going there
