One of my favourite restaurants before, but not anymore. So costly for all the dishes. Veg thalli price increased from 8.95 to 13.95 for one additional banana leaf. Me and my frnds not going to this restaurant anymore. Restaurant name is chennai dhosa, but they will play only telugu songs. Should consider other people as well.

Lakshmi and Devika was very helpful. So friendly with children. We visited again.

I ordered mutton biryani and it was delivered within 20 mins, hot food served with raita and salan. Really really delicious with ample amount of mutton pieces. I will recommend you guys to try this place.

What an utter waste of money, the quality of food compared to "others" was totally disheartening, front door wouldn't close right so we had -1 cold air around us and the restaurant staff just where not bothered to sort it out, just couldn't wait to pay and go! I will not recommend this restaurant.

This is the second time I ordered from this restaurant this time experience was awful . I ordered 3 Masada dosa and one paneer dosa I got 4 Masala dosa . When I called them back they were laughing and saying It will happened some time while packing and she disconnected the call. Top of that all food was mixed together and the packing box was poor quality one .I hope management read this comment and improve your service..I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Items in the menu don't seem to be what it is. Palak Panner seemed like tomato curry, the Chutneys in Dosa was so watery and running...no taste .

Bad food, bad experience, so unorganized

Went there last Sat for breakfast and the quality has become so bad. They also left the sambar for hours on the table. We went for the weekend meal and everything they served was cold and both ladies who were around not very helpful. The entrance door doesn’t close properly leaving the food cold and also leaves the costumers freezing the whole time. We used to love this place but it has lost its charm now.

On a cold day, it was warm and welcoming inside. Food was delicious and arrived on time.

Yesterday we went unknowingly.....food taste is very worst....Chennai dosa means atleast it needs to provide good dosa vit chutney but d taste of dosa and chutney both is below average....kids tiffen was very worst dat chicken pakoda bit full of azinomotto and couldn't able to keep in mouth....noodles is not good it was full vit palm oil..... unnecessarily we wasted our money going der

Well, where do I even begin with this place? The staff at this restaurant are just so incredibly romantic with each other that they seem to forget about the regular customers. It's almost like we're invisible to them as they gaze lovingly into each other's eyes and share secret smiles. I mean, who needs attentive service when you can witness a real-life romance novel unfolding right before your eyes, right? And forget about getting your food in a timely manner – it's much more important for the staff to steal looks👀in the corner. So if you're looking for a dining experience where you can feel like a third wheel in someone else's love story, this is the place for you. Just don't expect to actually eat any food while you're there.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with the food, which was below my expectations. This was, unfortunately, one of the most unsatisfactory meals I have ever had.

Update: This used to be one of our favourite spots for South Indian cuisine. Lately, the quality and taste of food had gone down drastically. It has become hard to recommend this place anymore. Instead of introducing new dishes, they should focus more on keeping the quality existing items. Amazing South Indian restaurant. Authentic taste and ambience. Dosas are just perfect. Definitely recommend if you’re Indian or like Indian cuisine.

I have visited this restaurant multiple times, but this time, it was a disappointing and bad experience. We ordered Schezwan chicken fried rice but received normal fried rice without the Schezwan sauce. We informed the staff, but they prepared something with extra chili powder, which was inedible. Additionally, the service was poor and unhelpful, making the experience even worse.

I recently ordered a meal from Chennai Dosa in Coventry, and I regret to say that my experience was nothing short of disappointing. I had to navigate through numerous screens just to place a simple order, which took significantly longer than expected. Once I finally completed the order, I was assured of a delivery window that comfortably fit my schedule. Unfortunately, the timely delivery was not upheld. My order arrived an hour late, and when it finally arrived, it was lukewarm at best. I had hoped that the food would be worth the wait, but alas, it fell short of expectations. The dosa was rubbery and lacked the crispy texture that one would normally anticipate from a quality restaurant. The accompanying chutneys were bland and uninspiring, and the sambar tasted watered down. On top of the food quality, customer service was disappointing as well. When I attempted to reach out to the restaurant about the delay and food quality, I was met with dismissive responses. There was a distinct lack of concern for customer satisfaction, which was incredibly frustrating. To sum it up, Chennai Dosa in Coventry has a lot of room for improvement. Between poor online ordering efficiency, late delivery, subpar food quality, and lack of customer service, my experience was far from what I had hoped for. Sadly, I cannot recommend this restaurant based on my experience and would encourage others to explore more reliable options for authentic South Indian cuisine. 0 stars from me.

Its just waste of money and hurting your taste buds. I wish there was an option to give 0 star as rating. Tomato rice has just uncooked tomatoes and tadka rice with a horrinle tasting oil. Palak paneer had palak sprinkled and just around 3 to 4 peices of paneer, tastes soo pathetic. Parota was filled with salt. Roti was uncooked.

One of the big franchise getting reputation spoiled due to poor management. Cold biryani served .. seems like stored in fridge. Didn’t warmed it enough to serve. Masala soda is like paper roast. Not same as expected. Staff and serving needs improve significantly.

Excellent food and smiling staff. Although tables are usually not very hygenically clean. Mop marks are seen. But overall very good place.

Completely waste of money really ridiculous. No spices . I paid for cheese but no there . Ridiculous sambar and chutney sooo bad . And Ordered veg noodles really taste less never gonna order again from here. Complete waste of money and taste.

Review for Coventry branch- I have ordered 2 masala dosa and I put the big note please spread the masala all over the dosa but they ignored and even I can see the long human hair in the sauce. I called them. One lady answered my call. She said we are too busy. We don’t have time to talk you. She’s soo rude. She’s shout on me. I called them 2-3 time but they totally ignored. If you have problem then order it again. I throw the food in the bin. I wasted my money. I am regular customer of Chennai dosa since last 5-6 years. I visited Leicester, Birmingham, Manchester, derby, Coventry and London as well. Every weekend I ordered. Really disappointed. Will not be ordering or recommending again.

The parotta ordered was not cooked properly.

Awful had via deliveroo ordered dishes I order at every curry house I use and this one was nothing like the dishes I ordered. Curry was disgusting and certainly not what I was expecting. Egg fried rice had everything accept egg in it raw cabbage, chicken and looked and tasted like cumin was poured over the top. Garlic naan bread what I actually received was a very crispy chapati. 90% of this order has been put in the bin. Don't use Chennai dosa !

I have been to this place multiple times, and the food is usually good. I used to love the manager or owner and the staffs were always warm and friendly. It always felt nice to visit. However, I wonder if the management or team has changed.When I went yesterday, the experience was quite different. A guy took our orders, and we specifically asked him to bring certain items first and the others later, once we were done. Unfortunately, he brought the items in the wrong order. When we politely pointed this out, he became upset, took the food away, and then brought the other items later, even taking our plates away in the process. His attitude was really bad.Later, he admitted that it was their mistake but it was obvious that he wasn't genuinely sorry. We also had a bad feeling about the food. To top it off, when we paid the bill, we noticed that we were charged for desserts we never ordered. My friend had already paid by then. Although they refunded the money when we pointed it out, the standards have clearly dropped. With such poor customer service, I’m certain we won’t be returning.

A quick feedback about chennai dosa -Coventry branch. We visited this today(being Monday and weekday) our expectations where pretty minimum! . however right from the time we entered it was very welcoming and great customer care with delicious food! We haven't received this kind of support in ordering best dishes with great inputs from any of our branches earlier. Special thanks to Diana & all the chefs who .made those delicious dishes . Specially chill fish,mutton biryani, chicken lollipop and badam milk...brilliant team. Will keep visiting Regards, Harish

I was so excited and went to restaurant but they made me upset. I ordered chicken biryani when they bring 2 pieces of chicken no flesh it was bone . So I asked waiter to bring new piece of chicken and even that one was burnt . I think they just reheating and giving they not making proper biryani very disappointed . Manager is irresponsible when I complain he smiling and I said because of your service I pay half and he charged me full price. I will post picture of burnt chicken.

Breakfast on weekends is really good but they don't provide still water(Highlands) and they doesn't allow to bring your own water, which makes me annoyed, I use Highlands water all the time,I regularly go to this place every week atleast once/twice after the multiple discussion with staff on water bottle, no more interest to go. At least you should allow the water, if you can't provide it to the customer.

Me and my pregnant wife visited today and ordered some items off the menu we have had a few times before. Not sure if the management or owners have changed not that it should make any difference but it was a displeasing atmosphere from the go but to top it off I had some chicken that I suspected was undercooked. I raised with the waiter who showed to the chef who both agreed it was just the chicken marinate that had coloured the chicken. I was not satisfied with this especially considering my wife is pregnant. Thankfully when I offered her some she refused then when I noticed the raw look of it I’m so glad she had none. The restaurant was reluctant to accept the issue and the whole meal was left untouched. I requested this item be removed from my bill which was refused until myself and my wife started to challenge the charge of it. I did agree to pay for the other food which was vegetarian therefore had no issue with paying for what we had actually eaten. After several minutes of back and forth and the manager being called it was taken off the bill however just be careful visiting this place. We don’t always cut the chicken to eat it as it’s was in smaller pieces so you don’t always notice this. Luckily we did. Poor customer service. Mistakes happen but at least accept the issue and resolve it. I’ve attached pictures for the people to see if I was wrong in what I saw. Thanks

I ordered mutton biryani today as takeaway, and when I tried it home, there was not a single piece of mutton in biryani. They charged me 9.75£ for biryani and roll. I will not come back to chennai dosa again and will not recommend it to any of my friends.
