Food is always good here. Best Chinese takeaway near me. I pick it up myself so I don't have to wait for it to be delivered

Worst Chinese ever full of grease and tasteless never again was recommended by friends but would not use again food was full of fat as well

I want to love this place, the food is always lovely. But everytime we order they are late or miss items from the order and no care is given, they very rarely apologies. Its a real shame.

Pancake rolls were barley warm and curry sauce was fine. Delivery was on time that's the best i can say

Absolutely diabolical food ordered from this takeaway. I ordered King Prawn fried rice and spare ribs. It was dry and unseasoned, a total waste of money and time. I made the mistake of trying them again as had hoped they had improved since last ordering with them 3 years ago. Well what a mistake that was. I did call them and spoke with a very rude defensive male on the phone. He offered no apology, other than claiming 'there was nothing wrong with the food ordered' then promptly hung up on me. If you want good tasty food please try Fortune House, which I will be sticking too in the future. The bad reviews are very true about this restaurant, they serve poor unseasoned food, with little effort in attitude or cuisine. Believe me they certainly are not eating the crap they are serving to customers. Ps -To the owners who were so rude to me YESTERDAY-(3rd May) on the phone - I warned you I would post a honest review prior to you hanging up on me ( so there you have it)

I have ordered from here for years but the last 3 or 4 times the service has been terrible. The delivery times are ridiculous and the gentlemen that answers the phone is one of the rudest people I've come across. The opening times on their website are also wrong.

one of the best in Coventry..Chinese food cooked by Chinese chefs! (Hugely important) now most in Coventry do not have Chinese chefs and their food is bland and tasteless THIS IS TOP SHELF CHINESE FOOD 10/10 always! always deliver very fast and it’s always piping hot and containers are so full the lids are trying to burst off would not recommend anywhere else in Coventry

Delivery Times .... hmmmm We placed our order before 7:00pm on a Saturday evening .. expecting a bit of a wait we were surprised to see delivery times were 45-60 minutes ... we could deal with that it was Saturday after all.. 8.00 pm came and went so at 8.20 I decided to call and see if our order was en route .. when I eventually got through I was told rudely that no my order hadn’t left yet and it would be another 20 minutes.. 9.00 came and went still no food again when I called and eventually got through I was told it will be a few minutes .. still no apology for the fact that they were over an hour past their advised delivery time. 9.30 arrived and I was trying desperately to get through to tell them to forget it (130 times I tried to call them last nite) 9.36 our food arrived .. almost 3 hours after ordering it, we unpacked and it was missing items, I called again and got an apology for the missing item .. shall we send it now ... hmm 🤔 it’s taken almost 3 hours to deliver my original order .. it’ll be morning by the time I get the rest. A lesson learnt, I will never order from here again .. rude, can’t get the order right and dreadful delivery times ...

We have been waiting for 2 hours for our food to be delivered, we’ve been fobbed off with excuses for the last hour! It might be delicious, we may never know!

Last couple of times we ordered the food has been vile!! The chicken seems cheap and undercooked almost slimey to the taste and the king po chicken was unbelievably spicy and I eat very hot food all the time and the boiled rice was more like a brick of rice won't be going here again

This place serves consistently lovely food but is never on time and you always have to call to find out how long your food will be and you never get an apology. The app seems to give a standard 45 or 60 minutes, we are currently on 1hr and 40 minutes and suprise surprise it's on its way, so as long as your willing to wait then I would recomend, if you want to eat at a decent time then I would find somewhere else.

1hr 45 mins to wait for delivery. We always order a Chinese from here. But the last few times the usual 20 min early delivery has gone to a very late 1.45hr wait. Each time!!. This time cold soggy chips and condensation soaked ripped bags. Rang multiple times to be told he’s on his way. From where Birmingham?? Think twice. Think they are taking on more than they can cope with. But while the monies coming in they won’t say no. Shame that their usually high rated reputation is slowing hitting the skids.

Usually order from here all the time how ever this time found glass in my salt pepper chicken usually food is lovely

My family use this takeaway every other week. Every meal is perfectly cooked, hot and delivered on time by a friendly driver. Will never use any other Chinese takeaway in Coventry .

I use this takeaway every few weeks, never had a bad meal. Great customer service. And a superb menu at a reasonable price

Food is fast, tasty and big portions, I would recommend the crispy beef and the special Chow Mein both really nice dishes, service in there is good and very friendly is the the main guy that works on the counter Highly recommend

Very disappointed. Thought we try Cheng's for our usual chicken chow mein and beef in black bean sauce with fried rice.The amount of salt was unbelievable. Also chow mein was mainly noodles. Hardly any bean sprouts or onions. The chicken was very dark....?Black bean sauce also very salty. My husband will eat anything but we both vowed never to go back!!

Quick Delivery hot and fresh as usual good sized portions been using this Chinese got 8 years now wouldn't go anywhere else

Go to place to take away. The prices are good, staff are exceptional and the food is beyond belief. My sibling comes home from uni just to get his dose of Chengs noodles. Definitely recommend for people to take away

Used this takeaway for the last 20+ years, always collected as they never delivered. Used to be friendly, helpful, nice to visit, we've moved house further away so used less. Found out they deliver, bonus! NO! Not good, just waited over an hour and a half, was told 3rd time I called that my meal would be ok, rice was hard and in lumps like it had sat for quite a while strangely enough, meals did not taste the same as they used to, not nice. Not impressed. Will not be ordering from here again in a hurry, shame cuz it used to be lovely.

‘Live times’ according to their own app was delivery between 30 to 45 minutes. I placed my order and got a delivery time of up to 60 minutes. It took over 90 minutes to arrive. I used to use these all the time but their food is not as good as it used to be. Won’t be using them again

We have used this takeaway for over 10 years but in the last year we have only used it 3 times, each time has been disappointing but we have given them another chance, however after last nights takeaway we will never go back! We always order the same meals but last night couldn't even eat the Singapore chow mein it was so hot and was dripping with chilli oil. I can eat very hot food but this was off the scale. The beef was like leather in the beef and black bean sauce dish and was too salty, it was like someone had tipped the salt pot into it! The chicken curry was that thick it was like eating paste. Total waste of £27! Service in the last year has been disappointing, on one occasion it was delivered with 2 main dishes missing, on calling them was told we will send them next time you order?? What was I supposed to eat on that occasion. We moved from the area and still travelled to use this Chinese and when they started deliveries we thought even better and we would always recommend to people but on a scale of 1-10 based on last nights meal and our previous 2 uses we would score it a 0! I doubt Chengs Garden will be interested in our comments as they no longer seem to care. See pictures below.

I was craving a chicken chow main. I order on the phone very blunt moody miserable. When I got to the shop the same person said what’s your name, what do you want to order so rudely. Again very blunt moody and miserable. Food was very oily and cold no taste to it. My chicken was also burnt. Never again will I go their. Would not recommend anyone to go their unless they want to eat some nasty cold food.

With my partner we've been regular customers,however after today's experience there will not be any more orders from us. First they've messed up our order and gave my partner the wrong dish. Second when we called them to ask them to either send us the right one or to return our money,they said they can't do anything to compensate us. And third and most disgustingly halfway through eating my dinner I found a HAIR in it..

Always have a good take away from here sweet and sour chicken is the best, never had any issues with them at all

We pick up a takeaway from here approx once a month. It is always hot, portions are good sized and the staff are efficient. A safe bet for a takeaway chinese meal.

Nice food, our favourite Chinese take away. Good selection, range meal deals and cater for children as they offer kids set menus.

Cada vez que pedir comida durante un cierto tiempo, siempre es 20 minutos o así después de lo que pides. Esta noche, pedimos más de media hora antes de que nos queríamos, y tenían el disgusto de esperar otros 45 minutos después de llegar a la tienda para recogerlo. Que está lejos de comida "rápida". La comida no está mal, pero no vale la pena esperar por mucho tiempo. Nos será buscando otra llevar chino.

When the old owners had in (being the old woman) the food was pretty good and tasty, nicely spiced and then it seemed the owners suddenly changed and for me the food has gone down hill since then and just isn't as tasty anymore, portion sizes still seem massive which isn't a bad thing shame the quality is not the same
