Chef and Spice in Leicester

We went on a Saturday, and it was very very busy. Heard people saying they've never seen it that busy. Lots of queuing to get the food. Chefs were strugklgling to keep up with demand. Isn't sa much of a variety as I thought there would be, but the food we had was very nice. If I was to go again, I might try a less busy weekday...but overall it was nice.

This is a great value night out, with a huge variety of buffet foods. They also host charity events, which support a number of fundraising efforts. Food is fresh and made with love. It's not the best curry you'll ever have, but it's tasty. Decent selection for vegetarians. Plates and glasses are cleared promptly.

I was there last night for a charity dinner & the food & service was excellent.

We visited tonight for my Dad’s birthday and it was fabulous as ever. A lovely variety of dishes, I really liked the paneer karahi and the saag with cheese, and the coriander sauce is always a fave 🤤

A brilliantly organised restaurant with very knowledgeable staff. Delicious variety of dishes. Highly recommend.

There's not much to say other than it was a first-time experience here. Food wasn't really that good. There wasn't much veg option for me to eat than the other places I've had buffets at errr me and my friend Teeman spent £58 all together i think owner needs to maybe have more options on each day to be honest but hey you won't know until you try i guess so being £58 out of pocket is a gamble u gotta take 😊

We had a great food after my wedding in here , all of our guest enjoyed the delicious all you can eat Indian cuisine and I am highly recommending it if you love a big meal. Ambiance is good but it's a little too tight and too crowded.

Went yesterday, and the restaurant was clean, lit well, and welcoming. Restaurant has parking where if you park there you must enter your car registration number to avoid a parking fine. The servers were all very polite and welcoming. The variety is very good for the starters, main course and dessert. The quality of the food was also good, and I enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

It was good, till the details of pricing was changed at the last moment for us. We had called about 2 hours before and we were told there's an offer of 1 free on 1 purchase. As we were 2 adults and one child, we arrived at the restaurant. When we started on our table, we were informed that the actual offer is they will take off the lowest one. I don't mind giving more money, but it's inappropriate that wrong information is passed on phone and the customer gets different information on coming to the site. I would be less likely coming to this place in future

We have had yet another fantastic meal at Chef and Spice, the welcome, service and food is superb. We have never had any problems there and it is our go to place for great food.

4 of us came to eat Saturday night and the food was excellent, especially the butter paneer.....absolutely loved it!.

Good quality of food but service can be better. As do not have enough space to get another plate on table if plates not picked up that are used.

So to start with, food was nothing exceptional. I had a sore throat for 3 days because of rancid oil they fried food in. I don't think they are changing oil frequently. It felt like the same oil used for days. Atmosphere if alright but nothing that can make your experience amazing.

I no it says spice but they should cater for people that cannot eat spice. Only a restricted small amount of none spice

Quick delivery and food was nice however vindaloo was lamb when should have been chicken. Was only 3 meal deals and chips that were ordered but missing a nan and 2 cans.

The food come stone cold. They kept putting back about time and 4 time they did. Then the delivery guy was showing he was on his way but did not leave the shop until 20 minutes later. The chips come like cardboard. had to put in microwave.

Personal muy organizado y eficiente asegurándose de que todo es fresco y bien abastecido para todos, ya que es un lugar ocupado, la comida era excepcional, y algunos de los mejores alimentos que he probado, todo estaba tan fresco y cocinado bien, el pollo se derritió en la boca y la cebolla bhaji para morir! ! Yo recomendaría este lugar para la comida y para reunirse con amigos o familiares, ambiente encantador y ayudan a recaudar dinero para las organizaciones benéficas locales, hasta ahora por un total de más de £ 900.000 . estábamos aquí para una noche de caridad con intercare Leicester. The food is delicious and there is a wide variety to choose from, the deserts are mouth watering including the warm chocolate fountain, they also have a bar. You are charged before you eat not after, so just be prepared.

Bad service. Bad attitude. Bad food. Poor parking.. So overpriced for beige food before drinks. £25 without drinks. Refused a refund on refundable items for no good reason given. Refused to sit us down untill the last one arrived, eating intonour time slot for the many that arrived in good time. Just a bad attitude. It's no Paddy's Martin Inn. No where close. Desserts are crap. Drinks are well expensive.

chicken tikka masala was sweet in taste. egg fired rice had only egg and white rice no vegetables nothing.. the garlic naan was burnt..

Great food, loads for Vege people, good labelling for allergy people. I always enjoy the food and it is a very friendly relaxed atmosphere. I like how they have salad accompaniments and a dosa station! Only downside it’s very noisy so difficult to catch up with people if on a big table. The booths are the best option.

Esta noche fui a recoger mi comida para llevar para que me dijeran que no podía recibir mi 10% de descuento, cuando pregunté dónde me decía que en el sitio web, me dieron un 10% de descuento. Average Indian buffet. Service was mediocre. The curries were bland and oily. Difficult to communicate with the staff. Food didn't taste very fresh. Beware of the toilets, the floors are very slippery.

Food was so delicious. But fresh juice … from ordinary package. Restaurant has big choice a meat dishes. Chicken wings and grilled fish - top. This buffet is great place

The Chef and Spice is more than an Indian restaurant. It's a food and atmosphere place. The variety of food is good. You pick your favorite and enjoy the food.

Very nice chicken tikka masala and egg fried rice,, massive nan bread 😉, could of done with more sauce though, had room to add more in container lol will order again 😉

Poor customer service had booked a table around a hour ago and just cancelled as can’t make it and said should have let us know before and rudely cut the phone off. Glad did not attend this poor service. Learn customer service skills.

Went for my daughters birthday, there were 10 of us, one with a walking frame and a baby in a pram. Staff couldn't do enough to make sure we had plenty of room at the table. Food was lovely and was constantly being refilled. There were some many foods to choose from, something for everyone.

We had a lovely meal here this evening. The service was amazing and they couldn’t do enough to ensure we were well looked after and any dietary needs met. There was a great selection of food and this was ideal for our youngest child, who enjoyed going back to try new things. The meat (lamb in particular) was succulent and tender, with just the right mix of spice and flavour. The desserts were delicious and even though we were all full, we managed to squeeze this in. The chocolate fountain was a hit with our children. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant and would highly recommend.

Large buffet with lots of choice. Most of the food was hot. I enjoyed the starters, main and desserts. Waiters tried to take plates away whilst we were eating! However still recommended

Some standout items included the chicken jhalfrezi, lamb curry, Goan fish curry, chicken wings and various vegetarian options such as pakoras and samosas . The dessert section had a nice variety including a chocolate fountain - brownies and Indian deserts freshly made

Had buffet there . Like starters but didn’t like main course. Place is small . Liked chocolate fountain there . Doesn’t like stir fry station noodles .Roast chicken was tasty .

Plenty of chose of food as its an all you can eat buffet Plenty of variety for vegetarian and vegans to.

My fourth visit here since I started visiting once to twice yearly from Sheffield. A smallish but succulent range of curry dishes and also love the stir fry bar wherein the plateful you choose is cooked while you wait, allowing you a few minutes to familiarise yourself further with the choice around you. Also had to mention the ice cream counter, similar to a place I used to visit in Leeds which I enjoyed multiple trips to at the end of my evening. Nothing any trouble for the staff and the drink service was faster than expected for the more busier part of the day. I recommend this place to anyone who I know is planning a visit to Leicester...or lives there and is yet to know about it. Keep the work up, Chef and Spice guys

The past few orders the chicken tikka masala sauce has been very watery it used to be nice and thick

Went yesterday 14 of us for my sons 30th birthday, food was amazing and the staff were wonderful such a great place to eat Thankyou all so much.

Had a date with my friend and we absolutely loved it. Lots of food options and all looked tasty 😋. The ones we tried were very nice. Very affordable too. Will definitely be coming here again

Worst food No hygiene No quality

Bad Experience.. staff handling too bad We arrived 9.38 pm on Wednesday evening, website shows closes at 11 pm but the guy , I believe the manager on door.. no Hi no hello , no smile and straight away said , we got only 20 minutes as they need to wrap up their buffet and need to go home by 10 pm. Please change your timings on the website as it says 11 pm and no buffet restaurant closes 1 hour before the time it says on the website. May be you are getting too much business or your experience staff had enough for their day. Wish you very good luck with such an attitude.

I ordered a chicken madras …I got a lamb madras!!! I rang to complain my order was wrong to be told they wouldn’t correct my order and if I drove there they would give me a chicken madras…I had it delivered because I can’t get there !!!! Absolutely disgusting service have to pay for another delivery from somewhere else now as I don’t eat lamb!!! Do not order anything from there

Large group of people for birthday party. Staff were initially not accommodating, but after explaining we are large group provided good service. Food isn’t the best, but a decent overall experience for a buffet which is something different.

A massive, huge improvement from last time. Lovely food, good variety and above all, great service. I've rarely had good biryani at a buffet, so I can happily say that I enjoyed theirs. The starters were brilliant. I did however over-indulge on them, so I need to go back for the mains 😂 My only issue is slightly pricey. Soft drinks could be included in the price, maybe?

Located on Andrews Street, there are some parking spaces behind and on the adjoining street at the back. This place offers good quality Asian buffet. It is very busy over the weekend, and we had booked our table early on. The spread of starters was excellent, both vegetarian and non vegetarian. There is also a live kebab counter and another section on burgers and wraps. All this left us with little room for the mains. The dessert section was good, too. We found the mango and sweet lassi disappointing. Overall, it was good dining experience.

The chefs are moody. It seems they give you the food for free!!! You can take only two pieces of fish! You pay £22.9. No soda including only water. Their car park charges you. Generally if you are looking for nice and clean food, not for you.
