Cheese at Leadenhall in City of London, Westminster

We booked a wine and cheese tasting while we were going to visit London. Sue took the reservation by email. The Leadenhal Market is beautiful! We thoroughly enjoyed this tasting and the time spent educating ys on these wines and cheese was exceptional. Would definitely recommend this to everyone who loves taste and enjoy!!! Sue the owner is great!

Delicious cheese and good service.

Lovely small plates in a very enjoyable location

I booked a table for 8 as a work lunch. Sue was extremely accommodating when I booked even calling me to confirm the arrangements. She personally came over when we arrived and talked us through everything. The food, wine and service was perfect. Sue even sourced us pastries from next door which we had with coffee without having to move. We will definitely be back.

It was okay, but the waitress managed to get both of our food orders incorrect and did not apologize or try to fix it at all. Honestly, I would’ve given 4-5 stars if she had just apologized. She was very nice, but c’mon. Would not recommend at all.

Try the omelette...best I ever had.

We drank an average bottle of wine which was very expensive for the quality. Lovely surroundings and friendly staff.

Fondue was nice but there was a bit too much alcohol in it that ruined the taste a bit. Otherwise nice spot in Leadenhall Market.

Bought a gift experience for my wife of a classic cheese and wine tasting. This has got to be one of the loveliest experiences available in the city. Leadenhall Market has a fantastic atmosphere but the team at Cheese at Leadenhall are so welcoming, so passionate and so, so, friendly. Wasn't sure how this gift experience would play out but it was fabulous. Richard makes the wine tasting like sitting in a friend's front room while they excitedly tell you about a new wine they discovered on their travels while Sue encourages you to indulge in one of the best hand picked cheese boards you could wish for. If there was an option to add a 6th star I would have selected it. Massive thank you guys for your hospitality.

My friend and I did the cheese and wine tasting here and it was fantastic. Our cheeses were chosen for us, which Sue then talked us through and gave us some background on. We then were given 4 wines, which we were also taught about, before being left to it and to enjoy at our own pace and in our own way. Would highly recommend this experience!

Great selection of cheese and cheese based dishes with a good selection of wine and port to accompany. Food is always freshly made and tasty.

Worst cheese restaurant. Fondue with Parmesan, bad wine a nightmare. Ham not really good. Just don’t go or if you want money and time !

My favorite gateaway in the City after a day in the office. Great spot to stop with a few colleagues for a chat while drinking some good wine (they have a huge selection) and enjoy a few tapas and cheese platter. Staff is very lovely and attentive. Always keen to come back for a drink and few nibbles.

Stopped by for lunch yesterday. Lovely service and it felt very festive in Leadenhall. Had the fondue and it was delicious also probably the best olives I've ever tasted.

Un sitio agradable para tomar una pinta y picar algo, pero nada extraordinario. El servicio muy atentos y amables.

Baked Camembert was great pairing with the Romanian (yes) wine. 13.5% but was light and tasty. Chips were cooked well. Beers were around 5-6 per bottle. Sat outside on the terrace in the marketplace. Place is Run by a service oriented couple.

If you love cheese this is the place

Das Essen war lecker. Die Patatas Bravas waren gut, für uns allerdings etwas zu scharf. Das Brot mit dem Hummus war ebenfalls anfangs gut, wobei in dem Hummus ziemlich viel Öl ist. Als das Brot fast leer war, fanden wir leider ziemlich viele kleine schwarze Haare in dem Brotgefäß. Dadurch wurde unser ganzes Erlebnis leider sehr hinunter gezogen ( daher auch die schlechte Bewertung für das Essen). Die Pommes sind sehr lecker. Die Service-Kräfte sind sehr freundlich und das Essen wurde schnell zum Tisch gebracht. Das Ambiente ist natürlich sehr schön, allerdings auch etwa laut draußen, wenn in der Leadenhall viel los ist. Anmerkung: Wir haben die Schüssel-Situation angesprochen und haben dann neues Brot bekommen. Entschuldigt wurde sich allerdings nicht. Es hieß lediglich, dass man nicht wüsste, wie das passiert ist, da die Schüsseln eigentlich immer gereinigt werden.

I would highly recommend a cheese and wine tasting experience here. With special thanks to Belle for being such a warm and enthusiastic host. We really enjoyed our time here and hope to see Belle again soon.

Nous avons eu de la chance, sans réservation et en extérieur ! Très bon restaurant qui a un large choix de fromage français, britannique et autres. Les plats sont bons mais un peu léger. Thanks for the moment in Leadenhall.

What a cute little find! Can eat lovely tasty food with a nice glass of wine, under a glass 'lead roof' (how it got its name) in all the atmosphere of Leadenhall Market!! We had a scotch egg, truffle croquettes and bread with alioli...all yumm. Can go shopping for wands like Harry Potter after :)

Group of five celebrated a 60th birthday lunch. Attentive staff, great selection of cheese and meats. Very welcoming. Highly recommend.

A classic in the area and a very hospital and great team, perfect for a few relaxed glasses and smaller bites

Chanced upon this place but was disappointed by the service and the cheese served to us. Ordered the cheese and charcuterie platter but wasn't introduced or asked on the choice of cheese we had nor there was any recommendation to the wine to pair with the platter.

If you like cheese, this is the place to go. It's in the middle of Leadenhall Market, so covered but outdoors. However, they have heaters and blankets when it's cold!

Superb choice of wine, from very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great food - look out for the cheese board, the charcuterie and popcorn chicken.

Lunch with friends in the beautiful & historic Leadenhall Market. The Market was buzzing which was great to see. We started off with a bottle of English New Hall wine which was excellent. Staff were friendly & helpful. We ordered a platter of cheese & charcuterie to share and 2 small plates of tapas dishes each. The Steak with Chimichurri skewers, Mushroom Truffle Croquets and Halloumi Chips were excellent. I would definitely return.

Nous n'étions pas forcément convaincu en voyant arrive l'assiette mais les fromages étaient très bons et il y avait un bel assortiment sur les deux assiettes. La charcuterie était bonne et en grande quantité. Le prix était assez élevé mais dans la moyenne du quartier. Pas convaincu par les deux verres de vin rouge que j'ai pris.

There aren't enough words to describe how much I enjoyed our time here. I was taking my friend for his first trip to Leadenhall Market. We saw Cheese and just had to go in. We had a delicious bottle of wine to share and a cheese and charcuterie plate. The cheese selected was heavenly. My favourite was easily the Comte. Never had anything like it before. Outstanding. The lady serving us was very knowledgeable about all we were enjoying. I was very sad when the cheese and wine finished. They were both so good. Great place. Really great place.

we thoroughly enjoyed our classic cheese and wine tasting experience. we were first presented with the wines (two whites, two red, and a port), then with the cheese (we asked for different ones, so we were able to try 10 each). everything was well explained, portions were very generous, and flavours outstanding. nothing was rushed, overall a great way to end the day

A great place to sit and admire Leadenhall Market with a well selected cheeseboard and some wine. Or port.

As soon as you step in here, you feel transported to another world! The staff are friendly, the wine is delightful and the cheeseboard is the icing on the cake. It is really small though so be prepared to stand.

What a wonderful evening! Fantastic cheese and we'll chosen accompanying wines. Needs a couple of hours and I challenge you not to buy some samples to take home. Sue was a delight and her colleagues are equally as helpful and knowledgeable. We are definitely going back

Really pleasant experience. We had vouchers for the wine & cheese tasting. its very informal and they leave you to enjoy wine/cheese after a brief intro. we had a slight problem which they sorted very quickly and apologised with some comp gifts. recommend.

Cheese has all the lovely atmosphere of Leadenhall, which is particularly festive at Christmas with the decorations. Sitting outside in our big coats, with the heaters on and cosy blankets, we could have been skiing! Food is great, my only negative is that as a non-meat eater there aren’t many veggie or fishy options aside from a cheese board or the padron peppers. As a lover of cheese, I would prefer another option. Highly recommended for great atmosphere and location though.

I have just received my Christmas Star package and I am delighted with it. The service was 1st class and personal and I am looking forward to giving it to my daughter and her partner at Christmas. I am sure they will enjoy their tasting experience.

I confess I know nothing about cheese or wine. I was dragged in by a Canadian friend, and I did feel a bit out of place. But, I enjoyed what was selected by my buddy and its in a lovely location. Sadly it's also the place where I discovered that Goats cheese doesn't get along with me and I came up with hives on the way home.

Good cheese selection. Staff are fairly knowledgeable and offer good recommendations based on what you’re looking for - e.g. which cheese goes best with what you’re having for dinner etc

Stopped by for a "small" cheese plate and some early afternoon wine. Was treated to a generous selection of meats and cheeses for only £10, and a spot-on wine recommendation. Can't recommend this place enough – and even better, it's in a beautiful location inside the Leadenhall market. A great spot to read and people watch for an hour.

My wife and I stopped here after a long day of sightseeing and had some wine and cheese. Both were very good and we enjoyed "people watching". Our server was very pleasant and in fact brought us another type of cheese when we indicated one of the ones on our cheeseboard was not to our liking. Worth the stop.

Took the 5 cheese selection and wine. Very tasty but small portions. Keep in mind that the menu does not say what cheeses are included, so be sure to ask before getting one you don't like.

Great help via email to start with , then went to pick up some raclette at the shop . Very reasonably priced compared to borough market . Lovely atmosphere with people enjoying cheese and wine. Knowledgeable and friendly staff 😊

Estávamos passeando e fomo conhecer o Leadenhall market, como estava perto da hora do almoço, resolvemos fazer uma pequena parada(nosso tempo era curto).E fomos agraciados com uma grata surpresa. Alem do local ser aconchegante, o serviço rápido, simpático e eficiente. O prato de 5 queijos deliciosos e frescos, ainda "vem" com uma bela explicação de cada tipo de queijo, de quem nos serviu. vale muito a pena e o preço é muito bom

Went here on a date night with my partner, with the cheese tour for your voucher. If you're a cheese fan, it won't disappoint. It's great value for money and the selection of cheeses is amazing. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly, would highly recommend.

super venue, great staff and ambience

I was here for the love of cheese! at a private function which was held at this fabulous bar/cafe hidden away in the middle of Leadenhall Market. Itself hidden away right smack in the middle of the square mile. The perfect place for a little fresh air cheese and wine tasting on a summer's evening. The atmosphere added by the Market itself adds to the experience of visiting Cheese. Excellent attentive service by the staff.

Ended up at Cheese at Leadenhall Market at the end of the Google Cheese Walk in association the very informative Henry and Matt (supported by photographer Georgie and cheese preparation by Lydia) from Curiocity Magazine. Enjoyed a lovely selection of charcuterie boards with a Chilean red and a wonderfully refreshing, light citrus white wine Picpoul de Pinet from the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France. The evening was concluded with a fun quiz of cheese facts and blind cheese tastings. Wonderful selection of cheese and wine can be enjoyed at Cheese in historic surroundings, as well as attentive and knowledgeable service.

I went to Cheese at Leadenhall for a private event, and I'm already planning my next visit. The shop sells a decent range of cheeses, all reasonably priced, as well as charcuterie boards and wine. Everywhere in Leadenhall Market is gorgeous, but if you don't fancy the pub or Pizza Express, this is the place to go. Staff are more than happy to talk through recommendations if you're stuck, and I hear they do great tasting events too.

What a fantastic little shop-cum-bar this place is. Leadenhall Market is a very attractive part of the City at any time and Cheese fits right into this. The to-the-point name doesn't perhaps tell the joys of this friendly establishment. The range of cheeses is seriously impressive and staff are on hand to guide you through. The range of goat cheese stands out, as do the blue cheeses. You'll need to invest in some crackers on the way home if you stop here after work. Even more impressive, though, is their selection of wines, available to buy or drink in. Matching perfectly with the cheese, there's a wonderful range that's well worth taking the time to explore. With cheese tasting events (plus cold meats), Cheese is a gem of a place that's well worth a visit to if you find yourself around London's financial hub.
