Checcos in Hyndburn

We’ve been here many times over the years. Always very welcoming and the atmosphere is pleasant. The owners are lovely and will happily engage in conversation unlike many. The food is always good, we’ve never had reason to complain. The pasta and pizzas are spot on as are the specials. If there was a negative thing I could say it would be the food is basic. It has a “I could have made this at home” feel to it but having said that, it obviously works! The restaurant is nearly always busy especially weekends so if you like homemade Italian but don’t want to cook get yourself down to Checcos, you won’t be disappointed!

Booked a table for 8 to celebrate my big birthday. The evening was fantastic. We were looked after so well, especially the 2 little ones who ordered Pizza. The ambiance with friendly, welcoming staff were a delight. Some of our party had travelled up from Shropshire and said how much they'd enjoyed the food and the service. Thankyou everyone x

Came here with my Son his girlfriend and her parents. We received a friendly welcome and the food was freshly prepared and tasted superb. I would definitely recommend this place ! Thank you

Great local eatery with genuine Italian touch the pizzas and pastas are in the £13 to £15 range with fresh ingredients. Starters are tasty and authentic and the sweets are just that. Really nice atmosphere and genuinely friendly and professional staff.

Absolute first class food and service! We’ve been several times now to this little gem. We live near whalley, which is only 5-10 mins away and so much better than the competition in whalley. Your always greeted with a warm, friendly welcome and promptly show to your table. The food is anyways prepared fresh and they will accommodate any little changes needed. Everything is delicious, especially the cheesy garlic bread. So to sum up if you want to a fresh traditional Italian cooked meal, this is he place to go.

We ordered two pizzas and some chips to take out and it was delicious. Really authentic and tasty- will definitely be back!

The pizza was bland bolognese watery and the garlic bread had no wiff of garlic we may aswell have ate a piece of cardboard this was once our favourite restaurant.... needless to say we will not visit again

We visited on a Saturday evening. On arrival there were quite number of cars on the car park which always looks promising but on entering the restaurant only about half a dozen tables were occupied. We were shown to our table and given menus. The waiter returned and took our drink and food order. They had no cannelloni (a quiet Italian restaurant that has run out of cannelloni). Our drinks arrived and the wine was pleasant. The garlic bread with tomato was under cooked arrived with our starters of stuffed mushrooms. These weren’t cooked in olive oil more like sunflower oil and were greasy and tasteless. The waitress (a very young girl with obviously no training) cleared the starters from the table and never asked how the food was. The mains arrived after less than a 5 minutes and we had to call the waitress back as we hadn’t been given any cutlery. We weren’t offered any black pepper or parmesan and were given the smallest dish of veg to share. On a positive note the mains were excellent. The meat was perfectly cooked and the sauce was very tasty. Again when the table was cleared we were not asked how our food was. All in all we were in fed and out in an hour. We like to go out and take our time and enjoy the experience. Make an evening of it. We felt rushed and will definitely not be returning.

Really enjoyed everything, traditional Italian and will definitely go again soon, service excellent plenty of parking which us always a bonus - we had a mix of pizza, lasagne, pasta dishes etc all excellent … just thought the lobster ravioli was overpriced at £15.95 for the portion size (small / medium)

We didn’t know about this place until we happened to drive past it last week. Decent sized car park Nice seating waiting area Traditional Italian interior with candles in the evening Very friendly staff and good choice of menu The garlic bread with tomato was lovely and the spaghetti pomodoro was spot on, generous portion as was the spag bolognese. Been many times, but not for a while, lovely welcome from the very friendly staff. Food was really good, I always have lobster ravioli, its the best, tried it in many restaurants and it just isnt as good.

Love Checco's, so traditional & authentic, owners & staff are friendly & attentive. Food never disappoints. Just love the atmosphere, everything is just as you would want & expect. Not many places that deliver on all areas. We will be regulars for sure.x

It's always a pleasure to visit Checco's when staying with family who live near by. Stefan is always welcoming and accomodating. There is a separate bar entry if you fancy a drink whilst you wait for a table with a large TV and comfy sofas. The restaurant itself is cozy Italian themed but it's the fresh food and friendly service that keeps us going back! It's not cheap but that's what you get with Italian but it's worth what you get and the plates are always clean! Fresh ingredients and freshly cooked. There is a range of food from Pizza to Pasta to Steak and Specials. Highly recommended.

Hemos estado un par de veces y la familia siempre disfrutar de la comida. Normalmente el servicio es muy bueno y que muestra, como cualquier noche de ir, siempre está lleno. Sin embargo, en esta última ocasión, había un retraso en tomar la orden y la corriente nos sirven antes del empezar había sido despejada. Mi hijo prefiere este restaurante sobre otros italianos en la zona, porque no te sientes bajo presión para el siguiente huésped. Tiene todo lo normal menú italiano y especiales además de la tarjeta. Hay un escalón en la entrada, no estoy seguro de si hay una alternativa para acceso en silla de ruedas. No he notado.

En una noche entre semana visitado. Han conocido el lugar mucho tiempo y por último comimos aquí hace unos años. No ha cambiado mucho en apariencia y es amable y acogedor. Sin embargo, la comida estaba bien. Es poco probable que volver porque en mi experiencia hay muchos restaurantes italianos con mejor comida de calidad que ofrece.

Booked meal for six people for six o'clock Saturday evening. Lovely cozy restaurant and atmosphere. Service very good and so was food. Bit more expensive than average restaurant but worth it for a special occasion.

Siempre parece ser capaz de conseguir una mesa para 2, el personal es muy cortés y amable. Llegamos a las 8, nos dieron una mesa a las 8:45 a pesar de la reserva para 8. Y no vienen ordenados entrantes bastante rápidamente. Pan de Ajo sabrosa y las chicas empezaron tenía buen aspecto. La red venga a mi salmón canalloni fue terrible!! El llenado era muy compacto, como una salchicha jellied y no sabían de nada y el queso fue quemada en la parte superior. La salsa era muy salada. No comí. Muy pequeña porción también! No creo que vaya a volver. El servicio era pobre

Depending on when you go depends on what you get. Avoid weekends as it is rushed and not as good as the midweek service and meal.

Booked a table for 8pm Saturday evening, arrived early, car park full and restaurant looked busy, waiting area also full. Not a problem we thought as we had booked by phone, a family squeezed together to allow us to sit down, no drinks were offered, menu's were given. You can expect to wait a little at busy periods, but despite being told numerous times it would not be long, we were not offered a table until my wife pointed out we had been waiting for over an hour, and would be leaving soon if a table was not available.
