Our Residents at Rough Lee Home really enjoy Monte Cristo's take away, the food is amazing and is always piping hot. id also like to say a big thank you for sending our Residents a free cake, everyone really enjoyed it. how kind.

Came to Monte Cristo tonight for a meal out with my partner, the restaurant is nice and the staff are friendly, however we felt as if the meal was pretty average. The muscles and prawns starters, i feel where not good value for money and drenched in sauce.. (maybe not what i expected) the garlic bread was nice but not really authentic.. the breaded goats cheese however was nice! I had the salmon and creamed garlic spinach, salmon was nice and a good portion size, but again.. drenched in sauce, and the veg that came with was quite bland and soggy (again perhaps steamed is not my preference) my partner had the bolognese and said it was ok.. we also got two cocktails that could have been given a little bit more love. Unfortunately, i dont think we’d rush to return.

Looked good reviews so gave it a go and was amazed at how good everything was, will definitely recommend this place and I'm sure will try them again.

I telephone to ask if they were stll doing takeaways, yes was the answer but he said he was busy doing checks and could i ring back in 10 minutes. ok not a problem, i rang back and said i would like to order, he said he was busy and put the phone down, so we went elsewhere and wont be going again

I went once again to monte cristo lastnight and as always the service was amazing along with the food, which of course, is out of this world. Special thanks to the waitresses Gemma and Megan as they were extra attentive as the staff always are here including Mully on the bar. Also well done to George the manager who handles every individual situation professionally and naturally. This place recieves 10 stars from me everytime! Great food great decor great service! We tried Monte cristos as a mid week cheeky meal to take advantage of the new government scheme. The food was good and it had a home made feel about it. The service was also good and the staff were very friendly.For a midweek meal it was nice but with the covid-19 restrictions in place it made for an usual atmosphere whilst eating out.

I have eaten in the restaurant many times over the years as it is very close to home. Yesterday I went for a birthday celebration dinner and was extremely impressed on every level. On this occasion the staff were incredibly attentive and helpful and covid regulations were followed to a high level. The restaurant is also taking part in the government discount scheme, making it extremely good value in addition to the midweek offer that runs permanently.The portions were generous and everything was freshly cooked and delicious. I had a prawn cocktail starter followed by pollo a la crema and an eaton mess for dessert. All delicious. We also had cheese garlic bread for the table. Well done. This was my best ever visit to Monte Cristo

We've really missed Monte Cristo our favourite restaurant. We had Sunday lunch there and it was as good as ever with spot on hygiene, social distancing etc. I had a beautifully cooked Steak Diane the sauce was gorgeous and the fresh vegetables were all cooked to perfection. Hubby's pizza was as good as ever but far too much for one go so we had the rest for supper. Thanks everyone and we'll be back soon. Lena and Colin Talbot

Beautiful atmosphere. Food was gorgeous. Only thing that was disappointing was the house wine, but I complained and got a free glass of my favourite wine! Will be visiting again soon...

Our first visit to the Monte Cristo. The lovely, friendly staff took our orders quickly. Thursday special-- 3 courses for £13.95. Although it was busy, we didn't have too long to wait for our food, it was excellent, I had bruschetta-- good, chicken in cream sauce with lovely fresh vegetables-- delicious and to finish, one of the best chocolate fudge cakes I've ever had. The rest of the party all enjoyed their food too. We had a visit from Andy the Magician, he's very funny and a very good magician--- no idea how he did any of the tricks!?It may have been our first visit but it definitely won't be the last!

We went to Monte Cristo on NYE 2019/2020.It was a fantastic night from beginning to end. There was a party of 8 of us and we had a lovely table in the window. We were on the second sitting so the place was very busy but the service at the bar was very quick and efficient whilst we waited for our table which was ready on time as promised.We has pre ordered our food and it was presented to us quickly and pleasantly, all 4 courses were delicious and the choice was varied.The staff did an incredible job from the waiters to the bar staff and the kitchen staff of course.The house wine was excellent and very good value in litre bottles.The entertainment was excellent and exactly as promised with an a varied play list that had everybody dancing all night.All in all an excellent night, NYE can be hit and miss but this was definitely a very good value hit.Many many thanks to all the staff.

We have visited here many times and this time we took some of our family on Sunday and it did not disappoint the food and service were excellent. There is always a great vibe to the place, warm and friendly and delicious food at very reasonable prices.

Visited with friends and everything was good. I had a lamb dish and it was so tender and tasty. Staff were very friendly and helpful and would go back.

Me, my girlfriend and family have visited this joint numerous times and we've always been satisfied. If you have no change to pay in full, they even oblige to give you grub for nothing. Highly recommended. Just a pitty they don't accept card payment.

First time visit with friends (7 of us). First impression.. small, crowded, overly noisy, and cramped seating suitable only for small people. Honestly, we were sat round a table that was obviously designed for 5 people max. The impression one got was that the owners had been determined to fit in as many tables as possible. The waiters were constantly squeezing through narrow gaps to deliver food. The food was only average. Service reasonable, and pricewise? Can't comment because I never picked up the tab. I was reading one review which specifically mentioned the Bruschetta and that it was served cold. I can vouch for that as mine was totally cold and had plainly been prepared beforehand. I also agree with the comment about the Chilli Sauce chicken. The chicken was dry to the point of being overcooked, but the sauce was edible.I am trying not to give reviews about what the rest of my party ate, but picking up on their comments after the meal, the consensus of opinion was a rating of average. This is not an establishment I would visit again, and there are better options in the surrounding area.

I have driven past this restaurant many times but never have actually dined in until this evening. I had somewhat high hopes for this place as I'm struggling to find a good Italian at the moment but this place let me down. Meal with 7 friends booked for 6:30, ordered drinks and sat down in a bar area. I rarely comment on drinks but we found the wine selection to be overpriced and poor, servers hadn't a clue what region the wine was from. We were quickly seated at a round table that was suitable for seating no more than 5 people. There were 7 of us all cramped around together, our knees touching one-another, it was not a comfortable dining experience so we asked if we could move to a different table (There was a 8 seat table and a 9 seat table free) but they said "No" because they said it was likely a big party would arrive as it was a Saturday evening (No mention of a reservation). No such large parties came in and we were stuck at that table for the whole meal. 3 out of 7 starters were pretty good but ribs, wings and burshcetta were poor. Ribs were not very meaty, more bone if anything and BBQ sauce was far too sweet. Chickens wings in sauce were decent in size and texture but covered in a sauce which gave it most of the flavour (Which wasn't too bad) however they were not seasoned before the sauce was put on and tasted somewhat artificial. Brushcetta was served cold not warm as it should be it had defiantly been made in advance and left to stand, rather than freshly made and grilled. Mains next: Pizzas were of poor quality, deep pan, thick bases loaded with very mild cheese, unless you got a pizza with lots of toppings (Like the 4 seasons pizza) you were eating tasteless cheese on bread. Chilli sauce chicken was dry, again not seasoned with even a pinch of salt and vegetables served with it had clearly come straight out of the microwave. Not all mains were bad though, paella, salmon pasta and olive oil and chilli spaghetti were all very good. Desserts were all good though so there was a happy ending. It's quite a small establishment only seating maybe 35 indoors at a push, there is outdoor seating but in cold Autumn and Winter months I can't see it being used often. As a result it feels very cramped and compact and servers going to and from the bar often have a hard time reaching the table without spilling a drink. The restaurant (On TripAdvisor at least) claims to be vegetarian and vegan friendly. On the menu I saw no vegan/gluten free option (Not vegan myself but some future diners might be) and a lack of vegetarian options, a member in our party had the choice of vegetable pizza or the chilli and olive oil pasta for mains, that's it! It's not a place I'd rush back to and despite many people calling it "Cheap and cheerful" it isn't particularly cheap (About mid-range) and not one server asked how our meals were once. Defiantly one I'm glad I finally have an opinion of now.

Pizza and garlic bread dough too thick, not authentic which I was expecting. Garlic. Read needed a few more minutes cooking time too. Calamari starter was extremely rubbery and batter just about cooked, wasn’t pleasant and I couldn’t finish it. Was served a touch on the cold side too. I had monte Cristobal tagliatelle and the scallopsAnd king prawns were cooked really well and the sauce was divine which is what brought my review up. Reasonably priced though I’d have been even more delighted if I went mid week and only had to pay half price. It wasn’t terrible but I won’t be in any rush to go back.

Excellent service and good food. Pleasant atmosphere and great place to have a meal with friends. Food well cooked and presented well. Look out for offers that makes a two course meal very affordable.

Come here a lot for family meals, birthdays and just random meals out. The staff are great and tend to your every need, make you feel welcome and work around you. The food is great and everything is reasonably priced.

Booked table for myself,partner and son. They had t,bone steak,I had pasta, The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Wish I could rate it higher,will deffinitly return.

We've been a couple of times and it's been very good each time, it's a very friendly place which is not expensive but very good. There is a good menu which should suit all tastes, good service with good wines.

Dined early with my niece for her 12th birthday. All was lovely, as expected (been before). They made her day by singing Happy Birthday with a sparkler in her Ice-cream.

We went to the monte Cristobal on Saturday night.as we was staying at a hotel not far from the restaurant.we found the food was lovely and the staff was so polite.the restaurant was busy but we got seeted straight away as we booked a table.although it was busy we didn’t have to wait to long for are food .and when we got the bill we was pleasantly surprised how cheap it was compared to some other restaurants we have bin to and the food has bin no ware near as good as this place would deffo recommend it

After a very long day me and my partner staying at the dunkenhalgh fancied italian food but wasnt feeling sociable. We had monte cristos reccomended to us by someone in the spa so i called to ask if take out was possible. I expected maybe pizza or pasta could be arranged at a push. But the friendly gentleman who answered the phone said we could have anything on the menu. Within 30 mins we had picked up the food and back at the hotel. The food was unbelievable, without question the best Italian ive had which when you bare in mind it was a take away thats quite a statement! If you havent tried the monte cristo pollo you must!! We ordered several starters and this as a main every bite of every dish was melt in the mouth! I would highly recommend this place and cant wait to try eating in the restaurant

Been coming here for years. So popular. Staff are attentive and polite. Sometimes the business is so busy that we have had to wait for drinks and the table we have booked in advance but saying this, food is to a high standard and always a great atmosphere in the venue. One of our favourites

Table all ready for the 5 of us. Immediate service for drinks followed by an acceptable period before our orders were taken. Mainly pizzas, but mussels to start were divine.

Went a few weeks ago we all had different items. The garlic bread I love love love. My friend had a salmon dish it was excellent . Liked mine but would pick a cream sauce next time , trying to stick to my meal plan so chose the chilli meatballs . Was nice but not for me . Thank you we did have a great time

The trouble with the food at this place is that they seem to use cheap ingredients. The cheese on the pizza is, at best, supermarket rubbery cheddar. This is not the 'Taste of Italy' you would expect.

Two friends who are regular Friday night visitors strongly recommended we accompany them to sample a night of 'ok' food with wonderful live music. When we booked in March for a table on Friday the 20th of April we were assured the musician Joel David would be performing, on arrival it was obvious that he was not playing and we enquired why because we were told at the time of booking that he would be and that that was our prime reason for travelling from Oldham. We were then informed that due to financial cut backs all live entertainment had been stopped. We reluctantly stayed but the food was very poor in comparison to our usual Italian restaurants, we made our disgruntlement known and questioned why we had not been informed the live music was being terminated we were told that it was a recent decision and it was a free feature the cost of which was not reflected in the food price and there was no need to inform anyone that they were stopping it. They did not seem to grasp that there is a multitude of eateries to choose from and the one feature that set MonteCristo apart from numerous others was the addition of a top class musician. Needless to say our friends nor us will be back.

We have always been great fans of this restaurant until last night.

Excellent place very friendly and food is to die for. Would defo recommend nothing is a problem for them they go above and beyond to make your visit worthwhile.

5 of us went out for a family meal at 7pm. We were not told upon booking or upon arrival that our table would be required for a sitting after us yet our meal was completely rushed.

Went on a Saturday night at 7.00 pm booked a table and we were glad we did.

We have been going for many years and still enjoy the food the atmosphere and of course the wonderful staff

My wife and I were recommended to visit this lovely little Italian pizzeria on one of our weekend breaks at the nearby Dunkenhalgh Hotel, the restaurant is quite small and looks like it has been a pub in a past life. The décor is pleasant and we were greeted warmly, the restaurant was very busy and the atmosphere was buzzing, to our delight live music was being featured which was pitched at exactly the right volume and enhanced the ambience greatly. We both had Chicken liver starters which was very tasty and good value. My wife had Salmon and I chose a sirloin steak which was succulent and cooked perfectly, we both finished off with a very generous helping of Eaton mess. The service was attentive without being intrusive but the 'icing on the cake' for us was the live musician whom we were overjoyed to find again as we had seen him many times before as he used to play his piano and sing for Saturday night dinner dances at the Dunkenhalgh Cameo Room and a Hotel in the Ribble valley. All in all a very enjoyable evening and we shall certainly return.

So what can i say fantastic been there around 20 times over the years and is always friendy helpfull nothing to much great place id reconmend to any one and not that exspensive

I have visited numerous restaurants across the UK and would rate this as the worst. The staff are rude and could not care less about you as a customer. I could have made better food at home. Basic and bland. I got a prawn and monkfish dish for £16.90 and received 3 tiny prawns and 2 pieces of monkfish no bigger than 3cm, accompanied by a side if veg, 1 half of carrot, 1 piece broccoli and 1 piece of cauliflower.

We enjoyed a lovely meal here and were lucky to get in on Saturday evening even though we hadn't booked! It was packed and atmospheric. There were a couple of birthday celebrations going on. So sparkling cakes and everyone singing happy birthday. I had a king prawn skewer starter. It was off the special board. Beautiful and succulent but only 4 prawns at £6.50 which I thought was rather expensive and is the only reason for not scoring 5! I had a lovely vegetarian risotto and my partner had an equally lovely mixed grill. All the steak chicken and lamb cutlets were cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend this restaurant. And will be returning.

The place has had a refurb since I last came. The tacky and cheap look has been updated to modern and chic. The food is extraordinary and the staff lovely. I'm one of these people that always ends up ordering wrong but never here. The menu is vast with everything you could need but I would definitely recommend ordering off the specials board as these dishes are always amazing!

Recently ate at this restaurant. The choice on the menu was very good. the food and the service were very good indeed.I would recommend this as a very good choice of place to eat if you are in and around Accrington.

We visited as a party of 20 for a birthday. The staff were attentive and friendly and very good considering it was such a large party. The food all came out at once and was to a good standard. Our party all enjoyed their food and found it to be reasonably priced! In addition, the drinks were reasonably priced too. It is obviously still a popular place as it was a Tuesday night and nearly every table was full throughout the evening!

Had a nice meal on a Wednesday, so half price pizza and pasta. Starter was delicious and main was very good! Good service and a nice environment, only thing I could fault was the table was a bit small.

I use to enjoy Monte Cristo a lot but The last Two Occasions I have been I have noticed a drop in Standards .The food is not as good and the Staff are not as caring as they use to be.I guess someone ie The Manager needs to take a long Hard look.

Visited in the Evening as a party for six. There is no parking outside but you can park down the road in the car park by the sports centre. Venue inside is clean and okay. The menu is looking a little tired. There a variety of pizza/pasta dishes and then meat/fish.We ordered starters and a selection of mains and were quickly served our drinks. Food took a reasonable time to arrive - one of the starters was wrong and the staff refused to accept they had got it wrong. This rather detracted from enjoyability the evening. The house red wine was good. The food average. The toppings on my pizza seemed a bit mean for the price paid. Service seemed a bit off with staff going through the motions but not interacting with the customers and no-one asked if our food was okay whilst we were eating it. We made a special trip to Accrington to dine here with friends and I'm sorry to say it seemed a bit of a wasted effort. There are plenty of other Italian/Pizza places around and you need to deliver on service, food quality and value to thrive and attract customers. I'm not sure we'll be back.

I returned to Monte Cristo for a birthday celebration in August. The warning bells of things going down hill were when the website hadn't been updated for some time. Consequently I E Mailed the restaurant with a query. There was never a reply. Previously I wrote to the manager to complain about a past experience - no reply. The restaurant simply doesn't seem committed to its customers.That said, there is a nice ambiance in the place when we entered. An online booking had been made (and a confirmation received) however the staff didn't refer to any booking register when we arrived meaning that a special request had been ignored. We were merely seated.Service was at an acceptable pace and there was a good selection on the menu. Portions, however, were extremely small. There was a Wednesday special offer however this wasn't mentioned on the website nor was it promoted by staff. Had I not enquired I would have been none the wiserMy own main course was Pollo A La Crema and this was simply a few slices of chicken in a very bland white sauce. There was no taste of herbs nor of white wine. I was really disappointed in it. It came with a small container of chips however there were no other vegetables at all. My companion had a pizza and this was of a respectable size and tasted good. Dessert was acceptable.Serving staff were pleasant enough however none of them appeared to be strong in English. Whilst this brought atmosphere, it made communicating challenging.Overall, the experience was disappointing.

I have visited Monte Cristo lots of times over the years, it is a good local Italian/Mediterranean restaurant with decent food at very reasonable prices. There are several midweek offers - half price pizza/pasta on Tuesday/Wednesday when you purchase a starter, and three course set menu for £13 on Thursday. There is also a magician on a Thursday, which is a nice touch for adults and children alike. Pizzas are reliability good, pasta usually is too (once it was a little bland but perhaps it was the wrong choice on my part). There are always a range of specials and plenty for vegetarian diners to choose from. Service is okay, they are sometimes slow to offer additional drinks and sometimes leave you sat in the bar area little long, even when you have prebooked. The restaurant can be a little hot at busy times especially in summer. There is, however, a lovely outdoor area to cool off in.Parking is limited, we usually try to grab a space on one of the residential streets further up off the main road - there is no dedicated car park.A really good value local restaurant that I will hopefully continue to visit in the future!

Booked a table for 3, myself, husband and our 12 year old-it was his birthday treat. Called in during the day to drop a cake off for my son as a final surprise. The staff were excellent, service prompt and pleasant, and food piping hot. There was a magician who came to our table and amazed us, we are still trying to work out how he did those card tricks. The birthday cake was presented on time to my son sparkler included, he was so embarrassed! Overall, this restaurant is top notch, would definately recommend it and will certainly return.

3 of us went here for an evening meal. We were there on a Thursday night. Purely by chance, the restaurant does a "Thursday Special", 3 courses for £12.95. The restaurant was busy and it was quite early. The service was spot on. Nicely paced. The staff were lovely, really friendly & made us feel extremely welcome. The choices on the special menu were great. Lots of places offer special menus but they are really limited. Not so here. And all of the food, without exception, was delicious. Tasty, fresh, well presented and decent portion size. I'd highly recommend this place. Really worth a visit.

We went as a group of family and friends after a day out celebrating a birthday. The food is excellent the staff were more like family and friends we had a great night. A gemstone in Church a must visit place. No rush no fuss just great food and friendly service.

My husband and I went for our anniversary. The food was excellent, surf and turf for him and tagliatelle toscana for me...absolutely delicious. Followed by lemon meringue and a eton mess. It was the best eton mess I have ever had. The service was very efficient and very friendly. We will be back soon.

We went there last night I had lasagne it looked like it was done in the microwave was boiling round the edges but only warm in the middle very disappointed

Went for Mothers' Day. Everything was just perfect and the staff outstanding. Beautiful restaurant interiorley but pub fronted externally. Lovely beer garden if you have the weather. Food could not be faulted. Goats Cheese with Cranberry for starters followed by mushroom tagliateli-. best I ever eaten although for me half the portion would have been more than sufficient.So amazing staff, amazing venue, amazing food, excellent portions and VFM.What more would you want????!!!!!!Bob & Sandra

I've been here on many occasions over the years and never had a terrible experience, the only thing that has ever let me down was my last visit, very busy month I understand but as we had a table booked for a friend's birthday for 7.30pm we didn't get seated until going up for 9pm, I haven't yet been back since, but food is always nice as is the service

I go to Monte Cristo most sundays for tea with my family. The service is lovely, the staff are very children friendly I have a 1 year old nephew and the staff were interacting with him and very helpful. The food is lovely every time.

I rang to see if there were any Valentine's day deals, I was abruptly told it was normal menu. Asked if the half price pizza pasta deal was on, again told no,normal menu. That was it. Not friendly at all. Suffice to say we will be going to the other local Italian where they are honouring their teatime deal til 630. It's a shame because we do like the food at Monte Cristo. Think you need to change the male receptionist if you want to gain more custom.

Visited here with a group of friends. It was a last minute reservation and even though we had been informed when the booking was made that the table had been booked straight after us, we did not feel rushed out. We all had starters and a main course. Food was good just a little salty (I don't normally put salt in my food). However everyone cleared all their plates which in my mind means a good meal. Would visit here again.

Just been to Monte Cristo. For 12.95 - starter, main course and dessert, you cannot complain. To add to it a magician join us at the table - showed us a few tricks and made balloons for the children - fantastic touch. Would definately go again for the deal.

Went for my mums 70th took a cake and balloons they sang happy birthday made it very special, the food was gorgeous everybody enjoyed everything they had would definitely recommend will be going again!!

We used to be regular visitors to Monte Cristo. It is a great local Italian restaurant with friendly service and a good atmosphere. Food is nice and reasonably priced and there are weekday specials and themed nights. However, we have not visited in some time...until last night...and unfortunately we won't be back in a hurry. My husband and I went yesterday evening to celebrate my birthday. My husband has coeliac disease and follows a gluten free diet. The menu had no mention of allergens, there was no separate gluten free menu and the waiter lacked knowledge of gluten free diets and even the ingredients/cooking methods used in their kitchen. Eg are your chips fried separately? Response:I'll give you vegetables instead just incase. We placed our order but the waiter kept returning from the kitchen to tell us that there was a problem with what my husband had ordered. Eg. Chorizo "might not" be gluten free, salami has flour in it (?), etc etc. this happened about 3/4 times. However, the food was nice when it arrived...a dampener had been put on our night though. There is no reason for this to happen. We explained to the waiter in charge that most restaurants we visit, including Italians, often have gf menus or at least have allergen information on the main menu. If not, staff can usually tell us what we need to know. If not, we do not go again...this I'm afraid will be the case with Monte Cristo, which is a shame as we and our children liked it here. Not recommended for gluten free in our experience.

I am vegetarian and the menu does not have a massive variety but otherwise the food was of excellent quality and the place was lovely. Service chap was lovely also.

The food and wine were great but we felt a little rushed.Not sure if this is normal? I have been before and never felt it was like this.The bruschetta for starter is lovely and the Carbonara is tasty too. It is not expensive either and they do have days of 1/2 price pizza or pasta with a full price main

We are frequent visitors to Monte Cristos - usually about twice a month. I have written a glowing review of the staff and service in the past and honestly and fairly reviewed the often 'hit and miss' food. Sometimes we go and have great food and a great night, other times it's not been the best.Unfortunately, within the last 3 visits, we have been overcharged twice. Sometimes you can have the odd drink or meal added to your bill in error but the first time was a bottle of rosé wine which when pointed out got removed. The second time was an 'unknown' £12 that wasn't even on the bill. It was almost like the bill needed topping up! When we took it to the bar we didn't even get an apology. Now bearing in mind that the two of us often have starters and steak/chicken with wine and coffees, our bill regularly comes to £60 plus. We ALWAYS leave a good tip too.We won't be returning again.

Haven't been for a long time, met with some friends so booked a table for 8.00 with the plan to have a drink first, arrived at 7.40 and very quickly asked to go to our table because the bar was going to be very busy later?? The food was lovely, went on a Thursday so there is a set course menu which is very reasonable and the added bonus of a table magician who was amazing!! The restaurant was busy but not overly so but its seems the staff rush the courses and just want shut of you. Shame really as the food itself is lovely!! Wouldn't rush back because I just want to enjoy the meal and a drink I don't want to be hurried and rushed out of the door!!

As we were stopping around the corner we decided to have a mal at this Italian before going to watch the Bay City aRollersEverything was so good from service .,the atmosphere and of course the foodWe both had the Mediterranean Bruschetta then pizza and chicken risotto which were all superb Finishing of with chocolate fudge cake and eaton mess .Will definitely return

Been here lots recently! Never disappointed! Very family friendly leaving our daughters full up after a three course meal! The fish specials are delicious with portions just the right size! A special birthday song and sparkler if you want to embarrass anyone celebrating a birthday! No comparison between Monte Cristo and Francos! Monte Cristo for us everytime!!

Just returned from holiday in Malta and missed the family so spent some of our anniversary gift vouchers at this superb restaurant , the 3 course Sunday special is superb value for money . Can't wait to go again .

We have visited this restaurant before, and on this occasion we felt that it had changed the emphasis of the menu from Italian to a broader Mediterranean theme. We both ordered duck, as we remember previously enjoying this dish. On this occasion however it was disappointing, in my opinion it had been overcooked and under rested and was tough. We were also surprised that the wine was not opened at the table, it arrived as an open bottle.

I know a lot of people like this place, but my experience is poor, the restaurant is nice. Inside, the food is average, and the service I had was surly and condescending, I believe it was from the owner, whom took a dislike to us as we ordered from the special weekday menu. Why have it if you don't like serving it? Much prefer Francos

Wet here with a group of friends 12 of us in total, booked late Sunday for 17:45 still allowed us to order from the 3 course for £12:95 Menu which finished at 18:00 staff very good, food very good, great choice, even if you don't go for the special offer the price are still reasonable. they do have other offers on at other times, will defiantly be going again.

Arrived without booking at a very busy time and requested a table for two. Given menus and sat in the bar area and advised it would be twenty minutes before we would be seated. Served at the bar promptly and spent our time perusing the large menu. What a great choice. Our orders were taken and we were seated as promised in twenty minutes. Both starters and main courses were excellent and absolutely recommended. The staff were attentive and friendly and the decor modern and well lit. Pleasantly surprised by the final bill and we will definitely be returning.

We had a family birthday meal at the Monte Cristo last night. Originally the meal was booked for ten of us. But there was no problem when an extra guest showed up. We happened to be there on a Wednesday night. This turned into a good thing. As Wednesday's are buy a starter and get either a pizza or pasta dish at half price. The meal was of a good standard for a local Italian, with no complaints. It only cost just over £120.00 for ten adults and one child (not including drink's) An ideal restaurant for a family occasion.

Originally booked a table for 10 but 2 friends had to pull out at last minute. Staff seemed very put out by this and said they would now have to move our table. The remaining 8 people were then squeezed onto a small circular table. There was no room for our drinks once the food orders came out. I was quite disappointed as I'd heard such good feedback about this restaurant. I'd ordered the panzerotti for my starter, the portion sizes where quite generous however it was dry and quite bland.

I have been twice to this restaurant, both times on a Thursday night for the 3 course meal deal £12.95 and with added entertainment of a magician that visits the tables doing awesome magic tricks. The food is good value and tasty, friendly staff did not feel we were being rushed.

The food was nice but nothing special, but it felt and indeed was hurried. We had travelled 200 miles to visit our granddaughter, we took her out for an early dinner and thought we would have a nice relaxing evening with her and enjoy the food. But we were served very quickly and no sooner finished one course the next was on the table. We were only there just over an hour all in all having been moved form our table as soon as we finished dessert as they 'needed' the table! We were ushered into the bar area to take our coffee but had to scramble through whilst people were moved to their table and and we sat to finish our coffee. This may work for some people but when we go out to dinner we expect to eat and drink at a slower pace.

Pedimos un entrante de calamari, risotto de marisco y pollo relleno, una botella de vino, dos cervezas y dos postres y pagamos 55 libras dos personas. La comida nos encantó, pero los postres no eran caseros, así que es lo que no nos gustó.La atención muy buena, eran chicos de Italia, Grecia, Chipre y eran muy agradables y simpáticos. Tiene un patio espectacular, aunque al hacer frío y de noche, sólo pudimos visitarlo. Volvería sin duda!

Good local restaurant for meeting up with friends. Varied menu enjoyed the vegetarian pizza. Need to work on the banana spilt presentation the coffee was nice and hot !
