God knows what under kebab meal - tried to say it was jalapeño skin when I had none in my meal. Avoid.

Large chips is the size of a small, burger came incorrect and sauces were tiny. Maybe this is just because it was ordered online, not in store. However, that shouldn't matter. 30 quid spent on a £10 takeaway. Absolute joke of a chip shop.

Absolutely terrible just ordered the mixed kebab the chicken was abit slimey and the kebab wrap was hard and tasted stale. The pie n chips weren't much better. Chucked both in the bin won't be having from here again

Bit sad just been for dinner spent over £18 and then no forks ,5p each bad customer service won’t be going again very shortsighted on owners part not to chuck them in considering he’s charging top dollar for his food

Chips fried in the same oil as the fish so they tasted like fish fingers. Absolutely disgusting. Don't go here

Been charged 50p for card payments as ordered 1 peace of chicken and mayonnaise they put charge on card payments when it's been banned in UK 8 YETAS AGO, GOT MY CHICKEN LOADED WITH MAYONNAISE ON TOP NO FORK NO TISSUES BEEN GIVEN HAD TO ASK THEM FOR IT???? Never have i been so shocked in my life at a chippy, my experience is like no other as the members of staff were very inconsiderate at my order choice, a simple fishcake and chips. could they do that? no. they tried to make me order something else as they couldnt be bothered to cook anything else. thank you.

Bang average fish chips and curry cost £11.85. the waitress tried to talk me out of the fish as it seem like too much mither to prepare the fish? I thought that was what fish dinner was all about...fresh fish. That's before I saw the cost! 😂 Won't be going back ..

Food was not the best chips were dry cold and hard sauces were all watered down! Everything was not nice

Very average food, local but food cold, not the best, will not return. Guy behind counter did even bother to acknowledge. Manners and politeness are free.!!

Watched staff take cash and give change to customers without washing there hands or sanitising for several minutes whilst waiting for my food to be prepared. Giving change to other customers and then immediately burying there bare hands into the salad is totally unacceptable.

Really a shame, went in ordered with one lady, ordered a mini fish and chips and something else. I asked the lady twice if I could have the peas separately, waited and they were doing other orders so I didn't know if it was my meal. So she then goes on to put peas all over the fish and chips. I said is that mine she said yes the other lady said she wanted them separate, they were both then just looking at me, the owner said does she want another one it was really awkward so I just said it was fine. Then had only left the shop and they were arguing one of the ladies went I didn't hear her did I? Honestly wait till someone has got out of the door before you talk about them! Fish was soggy but it was covered in peas. Won't return will go to Daves or Milehouse.

Discussing how much they charge for a large portion of chips £4.30 in a tray ,normally we get a big portion in a bag wrapped up which does 4 people .

I think a 2-star rating is quite generous and only redeemed by the fact that the lady on the phone was pleasant when we made a complaint. The food was awful. We spent £12 to feed a family of four, two adults and two young children. As soon as we got the food and tasted the first chip we could tell there was something off. The chips had CLEARLY been reheated from earlier in the day, I'm not saying they were reheated in a microwave,but they had that same dry and spongy, chewing on cardboard texture you get from reheating day old chips. The "Chicken meat" we ordered, presumed to be Chicken tikka was way over seasoned to the point it tasted like salt and not much else, worrying when you are eating chicken, hopefully not to mask anything unsavoury or dangerous... So we rang the takeaway to let them know. The lady my partner spoke to was pleasant,offered a refund which we didn't take. But what stuck out was what I presume to be the owner in the background accusing us of lying and saying there was nothing wrong with the food! As someone who has had some exceptional chippies in my time, this ranks as bar none the worst I've ever had. Don't care about the refund, I just hope the owner gets their act together and realises that it's better to try and please the customers as much as possible and not serve them reheated food, nevermind arguing with them when they are unsatisfied. Not good enough. Try the food you are serving yourself before serving customers! 2 stars, but only thanks to your staff redeeming you a point for being polite. We did not consume the food and the kids had beans on toast.

As previous reviewers have said it is very inconsistent. We called the takeaway to say that we suspected that the chips had been re-fried as they were a terrible texture, spongy and dry, not the crisp, fluffy texture that you would expect and we also ordered Chicken Tikka meat which was very salty and greasy. The lady on the phone was pleasant and offered a refund, however the owner was in the background accusing us of lying, saying that there was nothing wrong with the food. They get a Poor rating simply because of the reaction of the owner, though it is hit and miss because other times we have been it has been excellent. It's a shame to say we wont be returning simply because of it not knowing what you will get for your money.

Ordered from here using Uber eats .. food arrived and was nice and warm. There was plenty of food - more than enough for the price as well. Everything tasted fresh! Will be returning to try some of the other dishes!

We came to visit our daughter who lives around the corner so decided to try this chip shop for our dinner,we ordered fish and chips for four and curry and gravy in cartons all for £27.We took them back and got to say the chips were horrible and the fish tasteless.Will not be back in the future.

Excellent chippy. The food is always very good. We've never had a bad meal from there. Plenty of choice and good portion sizes. 😀

We visited for a family chippy tea, and my poor kids were left hungry because they couldn't chew the disgusting and obviously old reheated chips. never again.

The 1 star is being generous. Closing time 10pm ???? Pulled up at 9.35 to find cleaning in progress. Unable to get a fish so ended up with an exceptionally hard and dry portion of chips between 2 adults and 2 sausages. The pot of curry sauce and gravy were just maintaining room temperature. If they want to be cleaned down and leaving at 10 a suggestion is that the clising time is altered to 9.30 so nobody else has to spend money on quite pissibly the worst food i have experienced so far.

Fish great but couldn't tell you about anything else. Seems to be a good range though.

I rang last night with a very large order for the family. It was ready and waiting within 15 minutes, all packed up in a box with every item labelled. Absolutely brilliant. And most important of all, everybody commented on how lovely they were. Perfect!!!!

Popped in with starving wife son and daughter as couldn't get into any of the local eateries on a busy Saturday night. Haven't eaten fish 'n chips in a car for ages! Very nice and filling and would go again.

Very disappointed the chips where very powdery and had a funny taste, the gravy was even worse completely tasteless and my meal had a funny oiley taste, if you can't get chips and gravey right something is a miss,

This place was highly recommended to us. My other half loved the chicken tikka curry and the chips were good. Don't get many decent chippy's these days but this place is definitely worth it

Just been today to grab some dinner, it wasn't busy, small order of sausages, fish cakes and chips, girl took ages to serve the food, she kept checking the till for my order, god help her if I'd ordered lots, got home with food and it was cold

Ordered a Fish Meal and 1 portion of chips, both fish meal and portion of chips were cold,stuck together, fish was hard, think they had been left over from afternoon trade, will not visit again.

First time at this chip shop it’s such a shame people don’t know how to cook chips properly money wasted again good food in the bin I’ve owned chip shops and all I will say is leave the chips in till they float job done perfect chips this time they were raw I’ll try it again to see if things are better in the future shop looks good and a nice police lady serving

We live in Madeley, just over 4 miles away. We have a chip shop in Madeley but would rather travel to this one when we fancy a chippy tea. We find there chips to be much nicer, we get a better portion size and are also cheaper.

This place can be good depending on what time you go. Earlier is better. Chips can be re-fried if you go later. They have tried to box-size portions into meal deals contained in polystyrene boxes- so not very environmentally friendly. The prices and choice can be confusing; especially if you want a big fish and small chips. Sometimes wrapping up your order whilst waiting for stuff to fry which results in some of your order red hot and the rest not so hot. Lastly- be wary of the carrier bag charge. I don't think they understand the law here as the bag charges only apply to bigger businesses- which doesn't stop the smaller ones using this law to scrape another 5p off the punter.

Wonderfully crispy freshly fried fish - huge and cooked perfectly. Fab chips, has definitely become a favourite.

I visited this chip shop and ordered 'cod' chips and curry amongst other orders I had, to my disappointment when I got home, 3 miles away I opened the box to find just chips, having lifted the chips I found the squashed fish on the bottom of the tray and it was the quarter size of a normal fish! And the batter all soggy, I will not be returning here.
