You pay for an expensive room and you have 3 moths in your room and a shower tray that floods. You are contacted by reservations for feedback which you provide and no response is received. Warning if you are to stay hear you appear interested but clearly very superficial. Of note no offer of compensation was issued

Stayed here as part of a wedding party. Excellent venue great food and service. Room was lovely compact but very cosy with walk-in shower and underfloor heating. Breakfast was the best full English breakfast I’ve had.

My daughter got married at Charlton Hall Estate last wednesday (14.08.24). We were blown away by the venue, food, running of the day, professionlism of the staff members and the attention to detail. Thank you for making the wedding day such a memorable experience.

Firstly I want to say how utterly stunning this place is. From the moment you pull off the A1 down the tree lined driveway to the beautiful rooms, it really is the best looking hotel we've stayed at. Eclectic decor and I'd say, very expensive decor and fittings. We booked a Junior Suite for 2 nights and were in the main house, room Charlotte. We arrived abit earlier than 3 so we went to the bar/restaurant for a coffee. Firstly it took a while to be acknowledged and when we were asked what we wanted the young lady serving (on her own doing cocktails I think) said sit down and I'll bring them over. We waited 20 minutes no coffees and I think they realised we didn't get the drinks. I mentioned it and still they didn't arrive. By this point I didn't want to wait any longer and as it was after 3 we'd check in and get to the room. It wasn't ready. So, it didn't get off to the best start. Reception lady gave us free prosecco voucher which was kind. I'm not a very fussy person and this is definitely a first world problem but staying in a hotel is a luxury and not a necessity with lots of competition around. I personally think it should be right. Maybe if they had said, very sorry, you won't be charged for the coffees, it would have been good. In the room, which was beautiful, TV was almost hanging off the wall and the dressing table had something sticky on it so I had to wipe it off. We mentioned the TV to the reception when we checked out. She didn't seem very interested. It is a stunning place and the lights at night around the grounds are idyllic but I feel service lets it down abit in our experience. Shame really.

What a stunning place! Charlton Hall was on our list of suggested venues for our wedding reception, but I had no idea how absolutely stellar it would be until we stayed there. The rooms were bright and bold, fun and quirky, while still feeling luxurious and elevated. The staff was incredibly attentive, and seemed to genuinely care about making you feel happy and comfortable there. The food - unparalleled. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Booked bed, breakfast & evening meal package. Stayed in the Tempus building. Room was beautiful, finished to a high standard. Comfortable bed, both a bath and walk in shower. Nespresso machine was nice little touch. Food in the restaurant was delicious had the three course evening meal and breakfast next morning. Will definitely be coming back.

We attended a wedding here and had a lovely day. The hotel and grounds are picture perfect. We stayed overnight in the tempus and I absolutely loved the decor. We stayed in one of the standard rooms and I wasn't disappointed, I loved the vibe and the room was very comfortable. Loved the mood lighting and the electronic blackout blinds. Breakfast was included and had a continental and cooked to order option. Overall very pleasant stay.

I stayed here for 2 nights for my Nephews wedding. The rooms were fabulous, we had a family suite in the new Tempus. The whole experience was amazing food service in particular was carried out with precision, but there were a few issues that spoilt it. The bar was woefully understaffed with 1 main bartender who was doing a sterling job holding the bar for 120 people and one other who seemed to be doing other jobs. I had to go in search of staff as the bar was rammed and staff were chatting in the area behind the bar in the hall. The second guy was mopping floors. The toilets had run out of loo paper and staff had already been informed of this but nothing had been done. When your venue is as beautiful as yours and weddings are charged at a premium your staff need to be all hands on deck at all times, to stop these issues occurring. I’ve worked in hospitality as a duty and C&B manager so I have the knowledge and experience to back up my point. It slightly spoiled the event for me having to chase staff to get these things done, as I didn’t want my family to be aware.

Recently photographed a wedding at Charlton Hall and had a great day working with the team there. 10/10! Lovely venue and grounds, amazing for sunset images and of course some of the internal features make for some great opportunities!

Beautiful place for a wedding venu, really makes it feel private. Staff were friendly and the whole event was well organised. It has some pretty cool features which really sets it apart. Surrounding the hall is farm land for miles. The venue is easy to get to as just off the A1 it isn't well sign posted however and the satnav is often wrong

I visited the cafe as a competitor in the Cheviot Goat ultra marathon, and they do an incredible job for looking after all the runners and event staff. The soup after 55 miles of moorland tastes like the best thing ever. A lovely location, with lovely people.

Only stayed briefly to ask if they were still serving food. Barman was very helpful, telling me they stopped serving food last October (2023). Google entry states they still serve and all the signs outside say they serve food. Take them down so that us hungry travellers don't go out of our way to find you. Thanks again for the tips of where I might find somewhere to eat

Just went in for lunch, not sure of accommodation services. Lovely choices on menu and food was delicious. Staff were understanding of a disability and attentive to adjustments if required. One chicken goujon sandwich, one posh fish finger sandwich and one Steak & Ale pie with mushy peas. All with hand cut chips. Fish fingers and chicken goujons were freshly battered and more than adequate portions. Delcious. Chips were best we have had for a long time. Heaps of beautofully braised steak in pie and the tastiest gravy! Can be accessed from front (main high street) or rear (through beer garden, outside of which there are multiple car parks). One of our party struggles with mobility and had a four wheel Walker. Both entrances have access ramps and although a few steps, there is a hand rail available and were manageable for her. Definitely recommend. Will be back.
