Top notch, they've been there over 50 years so they've had enough practice!! Never once had cause to complain about anything, if you like fish and chip shop fayre, go here, its a no brainer 😀

Absolutely lovely! Hidden gem! I had lived in Prudhoe 15 years and had no idea that Balls had a garden round the back with picnic tables. It is in a little garden courtyard and such a sun trap! The gentleman put the umbrella up and nothing was too much fuss. We had fish and chips and it was the nicest I have had in ages. The mushy peas were beautiful! Will definitely be returning here !

So friendly and the food is very good and excellent value. The Eton mess is the best I’ve ever had.

Best fish and chips in the area, extensive menu

Staff have an attitude problem you stand waiting an age and they don’t even acknowledge you. Yes it’s busy learn some manners and how to acknowledge someone

We bought fish and chips and and another separate fish from the fish shop to take away. I was a little concerned when I saw there were two fish in the warmer and they didn't exactly look 'fresh'. I wasn't wrong. The batter was extremely dry and in parts extremely crispy. This meant that instead of having a nice tasty fresh batter, after trying to remove the very hard parts, it was hard to chew on and rather tough. Neither of us attempted to finish the fish as it really wasn't enjoyable. It didn't taste nice because of how hard and dry it was and it simply wasn't enjoyable at all. Very disappointed and a wasted meal time. We only went there for the first time because of the positive reviews and it had the best score for Prudhoe. Lesson learned and I'll make sure the next place I go to, I will ask for the fish to be freshly fried.

Private function. The catering was superb and good use made of the space available. Reasonably priced drinks.

Excellent chippy. Not the closest to our house but we come here every time. The batter is very nice.

Once again, a super meal (for a party of 6) all of us having a variety of items on the menu. Food, from scampi, beef curry, chicken stir fry to a children's sausage and chips, was enjoyed by all and only empty plates returned to the kitchen. Service was friendly, quick and very efficient. The Christmas decorations added to the usual welcoming atmosphere and a lovely time was had by all. My grand-daughter can't wait to return next time we visit our relatives who live close by.

Amazing chip shop/ restaurant in Prudhoe, food was piping hot and plenty of it. No complaints from the six of us around the table.

What an absolute BRILLIANT place to go for afternoon tea.The interior is warm and inviting. An excellent selection of fresh, yummy treats as well as delicious sandwiches and other savouries. Unlimited coffee and teas included in the price, EXCELLENT value. Staff were delightful and constantly checking that you had everything you needed.The owner is vibrant, funny and very charismatic. I definitely hope to return. Highly recommend this delightful establishment.👍

We had a home delivery of a buffet for six people on our wedding anniversary and it was absolutely amazing, thank you Balls , Pat and Peter.

I went today 17th june 2023 with my friend for afternoon tea and wow what a lovely place this is ,from going in to coming out the staff were so welcoming and the afternoon tea was just the best we've ever had such a lovely quaint place I would highly recommend this tea room and I know we certainly will be back soon thankyou to you all as you looked after us and nothing was too much trouble I would give you more than five stars if there was one as this place is so delightful once again thankyou and we will see you soon ❤️

Great fish and chips really good quality

Enjoyable afternoon at Balls restaurant & Tearoom. Food was amazing the service was great and the tearoom ambiance is beautiful to sit in. Overall...would highly reccomend a visit to sample their menu which has something for everyone.

Used the takeaway and staff were very good, food hot and reasonable prices

£6 on cheesey chips and garlic came with cheddar cheese and mayo with garlic cloves in could of bought that from co op for a £5a and would have getting a bigger portion

Just had the smallest partion of chips from a chipy & got charged £2.80 for the pleasure very disappointed

Lovely fish and chip shop takeaway and sit in restaurant. Food always tasty and very reasonably priced. Lots of choice on take away menu including puddings. Do afternoon tea in the restaurant. I have traveled all over the UK and Balls is by far the best chippy on this Island and I’m not exaggerating. The food is always amazing, piping hot thick fish golden chips and loads more food available on the menu! Beautifully decorated clean restaurant next door and best of all Ann is always smiling and very welcoming. I’m based in Lincoln and whenever we are up in the Toon we take a detour to Prudhoe! 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A very welcoming establishment offering substantial meals, pensioner sized portions if preferred, within a delightful, if somewhat whacky decorated interior.

I took my mum for a late 80th birthday treat and my mother in law for an early 72nd afternoon tea treat today.. what can a say other than excellent service. Fantastic afternoon tea.. fabulous sandwiches, quiche, pie and cakes and scones were all absolutely beautiful. With unlimited tea or coffee.. I cannot recommend this enough and such amazing value for money... thank you for a Brilliant afternoon

My sister comes here often but we all went as a family for her birthday. The food omg! The best homemade food ever! The portions are huge thats just the kids menu, the variety of food is second to none. Homemade pudding highly recommended.. Atmosphere is amazing, the decor is gorgeous, classy and beautiful with low music in the background fanastic setting . The owners are fabulous, so friendly and welcoming, professional and chatty just perfect. I can not recommend highly enough. Will be coming back definitely. Absolutely brilliant .. Thank you
