A charming cafe in the heart of the village. Service is good, food is delicious with lots of choices. Best to book in advance to secure a table (inside or out)

We stopped here for one night on route to Scotland and so glad we chose Bertrams. We had a great room on the second floor which was on the whole very comfortable. We had dinner in the bistro and it was a gastronomic delight. Everything was presented beautifully and was of top quality. And most importantly tasted divine. Breakfast was equally high quality and once again presented perfectly. Well done to all the Bertram's team.

Café by day, excellent dining option at night.

Very disorganised no one taking orders. Fifteen minutes wait with couple behind us getting their order taken and being served before they even approached us. May need more staff on. Never saw the lady who sat us again. No one checked up on waiting customers

We regularly walk sections of the coastal path and make a point of fuelling up at Bertrams beforehand, food is lovely in a cosy setting. Well worth a visit.

Friendly restaurant in a lovely village. The main cod dish was delicious and more than I could eat. Dessert was lovely too. Not surprised that it was packed out and we had needed to book!

You’ve got to have the Local Crab Sandwich when you come here. Nice cafe and a really nice courtyard with patio heater if you have pooches. We asked for some chicken for the dogs and it was no trouble at all. Lovely staff too. Thank you!

Sadly a few issues. New member of staff who was really good but couldn't answer questions about menu eg scallops and GF options. Whoever was advising her in the kitchen (or more experienced waiting staff?) got it wrong so one of our party had to wait for main course to be replaced. Wouldn't rush back especially as very expensive for what was on offer

Family Saturday lunch - perfect! Attentive service in lovely freshly decorated surroundings. All dishes were tasty and good value. Sourdough toastie and quiche were both good and included delicious homemade coleslaw. The coffee was also very good! We were inside but the courtyard looked very inviting.

Food was fantastic! Great place to eat. But felt let down by the poor cust service. Ordered choc brownie for my daughter and it arrived laced with nuts, which wasn’t advertised or advised when ordering. It’s the little things that make a decent place a great place. Need to do better when you’re charging high end prices.

We had dinner here and enjoyed it very much. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. High quality food and decent portions. Will definitely be back next year.

We found this place whilst on a walk with our dog. There was a short queue so we waited on the benches out the front in the sunshine and were soon ushered in as our table was ready. The decor is lovely, the staff were very friendly and efficient and the cake was delicious. The lime, coconut and ginger cake was by far our favourite. A delicious hot chocolate and cup of tea. A very pleasant experience all round.

Unbelievable food. We had the lunch special, chicken and mushroom pie. I have never tasted a better pie in my life. The service and atmosphere is great.

Excellent pick for lunchtime venue. Get there before 12:15 to avoid a wait. We were seated just before 12 noon and it soon filled up. The wait staff were very friendly, professional and efficient. I order the Bertram Burger. It cooked to perfection. The skinny fries were to die for and salad and coleslaw adde even more points to the total score. I had the biscot cake and it was extremely tasty. All and all, a perfect lunch ! I changed up from my regular Bertram's burger for a Soup - Bertram's Cullen Skink. Absolutely fantastic! It comes with artisan bread and was great for a chilly day.

Went into Bertrams for coffee and scone. The scone was averagely ok, coffee was good. Atmosphere was OK on a very busy weekday. The cafe is under new ownership.

What a fabulous find. Lovely cosy bistro in the middle of Warkworth. Only had to queue for 5/10 mins for table and def worth the wait. Hubby and I had local kippers which were so juicy and fresh. One son had the most fabulous mac and cheese and other son(who's vegan) loved the pea and mint soup and vegan cake choice was amazing. Oh, and the side of fries the best I've tasted in a very long time! Staff super friendly and efficient - which seems to be a rare find nowadays. Will def return when in the area.

A brief visit on a cold day for hot drinks and a bite of lunch. A bacon sandwich for me and a sausage sandwich for my husband, both cooked perfectly to our taste. Couldn't have been better.

Just went in for food to go, had the eggs benedict on toast. Unbelievable quality. Portions aren't massive but they don't need to be, was the perfect size to hit the spot and very quick considering it was flat out inside.

Wonderful food, attentive and knowledgeable staff. It's a fabulous place for lunch, brunch or just a tea and cake. The cakes are truly delicious.

Worst late I have ever had. Watered down milk with virtually no coffee. Not even very hot. A cup of instant would of had more flavour.

Called in here after finishing a 10 mile circular walk. Lovely place, pleasant staff, fresh scones and a big pot of tea, for two. Definitely recommend

Popped in here for a well earned break while walking the Northumberland Cost Path. Four of us for coffee and cakes, we sat outside which was very pleasant

Called in here for coffee but ended up having brunch given how good they looked. It was very busy last week of July so we were lucky to get a table. There is a small courtyard to sit out in too if the weather is good. The breakfasts were good, as was the coffee. Service was quick too. Apparently they don't take bookings, so a case of turning up and hoping.

Really good food. Reasonable priced

Found food to be nice but overpriced. There are not many vegan options. I ordered avocado smash minus the eggs. Would have liked a little imagination. If something is taken off , why not add something else ? A nice colourful salad for example. Certainly do not charge for the eggs , I did not have ! The food we did have was tasty and service was excellent.

What an absolute delight. Had quiche with salad, coleslaw and chutney. It was sooo blooming tasty. I paid a little more than I normally would for quiche (and a Fentimans shandy) however it was devine and the courtyard was just bliss. The service was excellent too. Therefore, the price was well worth it at just over £12.00. Definitely worth visiting again 👌😃

I had the best sausage sandwich here I’ve eaten in a long time. We sat in the courtyard as we had a dog with us, I’m not sure if dogs are allowed inside. However the courtyard is quiet and comfortable and has canopies for when the weather is not great. Food was excellent as I say and the service was fast and friendly. I highly recommend.

Visited twice while staying locally as it was so good the first time. Never order burgers as a rule, but we were looking for something more substantial and it was a great choice. Every bit of it was perfect and would highly recommend 👌 On the previous visit I had the goats cheese salad and hubby the eggs benedict with bacon. Also delicious. Lovely decor and really nice staff 👌

This was the first time we have visited since 2019, and it was as good as we remembered. Very dog friendly with gluten free cakes and bread. It can get busy but they have a good system where you add your name to a list and you are called when a table if free. We will definitely be back.

Descent breakfast 😋 nice atmosphere

We dropped in for breakfast after having tried an avocado smash and coronation chicken ciabatta the day before and we weren't disappointed. Absolutely lovely food, clearly made with fresh produce, cooked to perfection. Very nice veggie version of the classic full english breakfast, really to be recommended. We'll be back for an afternoon tea as well :)

Lovely little cafe with a beautiful courtyard. We had great veggie breakfasts. The staff were lovely and very accommodating of a fussy 6 year old.

We first went a couple of years ago and loved sitting in the courtyard in the sun. Their cakes are really good, properly homemade. This time we went back with our toddler who also loved the cake. We were well looked after by friendly staff.

Fantastic café in Warkworth, about a 5/10min walk from the castle. Good choice of food (and vegetarian options). Excellent coffee. Gets busy in summer to be prepared to wait a little at peak times. Indoor seating or outside in the courtyard.

This place is a diamond. The food is great - I love the Macaroni Cheese! Also their cakes are beautiful, the coffee is great, the service is great and the atmosphere is great. I don't recommend it to anyone else because I don't want too many people queuing when we want to go.

This cafe is a must if you are visiting Warkworth.. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was delicious & the apple juice was Frobishers, my favourite. Don't miss out on the lovely courtyard at the back of the cafe, a sun trap..

It is the best place to stop and have a coffee, lunch, catch up friends. Happy to let you bring your dog in. Best bit, the furniture, an eclectic collection of funky chairs and tables

Called in yesterday for lunch. A short wait for a table, but the food was good. I had a grilled goats cheese sandwich with salad and him indoors had the burger and a cake.. Friendly, efficient staff.. We would recommend.

Was a very nice meal. Burgers were super tasty and the fries were nice. Coffee was very good and a great cake selection.

This very popular stop off is rather well hidden, but well worth the visit.

All outdoor seating but lovely food and there is one toilet on site. I visited in February so using one toilet in the summer Months may be a problem

Cute little coffee shop with lovely interior good coffee and tasty food! We got some fish cakes with a couple of fruit scones and coffee which were all very nice! There's so many options on the menu that everyone should be able to get something they like! We can't wait to visit again so we can try some of the sandwiches and cakes as they looked amazing! As a bonus it's dog friendly. 😉

This is a great little hidden gem in Warkworth. We'd been out geocaching around the castle and wandering around the the countryside and were in need of some food. We'd seen this place on the start of our ramblings so thought we'd give it a try. Arriving we found it was full and there was a queue outside but by leaving your name inside we didn't have to wait long to be seated. When out and about, we always have a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows. Here we were not disappointed and we even got extra marshmallows!! Absolutely wonderful especially as the drink itself was quite bitter but the marshmallows added that extra sweetness without having to add sugar. The food we had was delicious. I had the soup, tomato, pepper and basil. My husband had a ham salad sarny. He loved it. The only thing that let the place down was the cakes. There's loads on display and look delicious so we got some carrot cake and rhubarb and custard cake to go. We were so looking forward to having them at home but we were both hugely disappointed with both types of cake. At £3.95 a slice we would expect something amazing but we both felt they were second rate and too expensive to boot. However, when we return to Warkworth in the future, we won't hesitate to call back to Bertram's Cafe.
