Best Chippy around! I travel from out of the area to come here, well worth it! Staff are great and always so friendly and helpful! The owner, Fiona has done this chippy proud! As it’s been around since well before I was a child, and the food has always been spot on! Top fav: fish,chips,peas & Irish curry is a must!

AVOID THIS PLACE What can I say but absolutely disgusting . They seem to have changed owners and need closing down. I would rate them zero. The chips weren’t cooked and had all black bits on them and the fish was a frozen supermarket fish out of a box from Tesco across the road. The place looked dirty inside with all finger prints all over the appliances like the fridge,etc. Needs reporting to trading standards. Absolutely zero food hygiene.

I have been coming to this chippy since it has opened and have never had a problem the food has always been lovely, today when I went the food was disgusting and the staff are so rude!!!! Where have the old staff gone they were fab!!!!! And the food omg!!!!!!! The chips where hard and white and had black bits on them the gravy tasted horrible!!!!!! The staff had attitude and seemed bothered that I’d turned up, the hot pies were put back into a container still hot sweating ready to be used the next day, I ordered chips as everything else was put away and to say they were flung at me is an understatement they weren’t wrapped properly, when I’ve got home to eat these chips they are disgusting there white blackheads black bits where they’ve come from I’ll never know hard, I really loved this chippy but I’m afraid I won’t be eating here again, time to find a new one.

We decided to get fish and chips and went to Charlie's Chippy because it was open. We entered, masked up as required and noted that since only two people were allowed inside we could go in together. The staff were very offhand, ignoring my polite "Good Evening"; one young lady asked what we wanted and we ordered two fish and chips with one portion of mushy peas. Having paid I heard this commotion of raised voices; a woman said in a raised voice from from about 15 feet away that as we had driven there we must go and sit in the car and that the food would be brought out to us. Obligingly I agreed to this, thinking that at least we would get some nice fish and chips at the end of it. While sitting in the car we noticed that at least four people were in the shop, one of them standing and eating his chips and we didn't understand why the rule of two did not seem to apply to them. The girl who had served us brought the food out but ignored my thanks, having seen someone that she knew, and let out a 120 decibel greeting to them! The food, when we got it home, was gruesome, with a massive pile of stale chips which had obviously been cooked many hours before and tasted dreadful. The fish was dry and the batter had a peculiar taste which still lingers as I write this. To sum up, the staff were definitely not polite or pleasant, we were ordered out to the car, although others who went in later were not, and the food was the worst I have ever had. All for £11!
