Traditional greasy spoon cafe, without the grease. Hot, perfectly cooked meals served by very nice waiting staff. A must visit on match days for a hearty breakfast/brunch.

Visited after the game today. Ordered a Full English no 2. Bacon, egg, sausage, beans, mushrooms and fried slice, along with a coffee. £8.50! All I I think. Got about 3 rashers of bacon, a nicely presented egg on top of th fried slice and about half a ton of nicely cooked mushrooms. Only complaint was that I couldn’t finish it so I felt bad! Really friendly people too so I’ll definitely be back!

Traditional Cafe, but excellent at what they do. I visited with my 87 year old father while visiting my mother in the hospital and only really went in as a last resort. My father is a bit of a food snob and ordered a cheese and onion omelette with chips and salad: declared it was one of the best he had ever had and the chips were good too. I had chilli which came with rice and chips and salad. The salad was crisp - no curly edges! The chips were good and the chilli was fine. The staff were polite and helpful. Would happily visit again.

A good old school café, specialises in breakfast. After consuming plenty of sausage and chips over the last few days i ordered the chicken curry. This was ok but i didn't really enjoy it. In hindsight i should have ordered sausage, egg, beans and chips. That's what everyone else was eating and enjoying. Nice friendly helpful staff.

I was surprised Charlie's has not been reviewed on TripAdvisor previously as it has had many (very favourable) Google reviews, so I was pleased to add it to this platform. Imagine a Wednesday evening, pre-match. It is lashing down with rain, windy and quite cold and you are hungry. Where to go for a bite before kick off? My friend, a Watford FC season ticket holder, has eaten at Charlie's often and suggested we go there. It is situated right next to Vicarage Road Stadium. The Café was busy, but not overwhelmed. We found a table and ordered at the counter, and not long after our meal arrived. I had a huge portion of cheese and mushroom omelette, baked beans and chips and coffee (all for around £10), and was happily surprised by how good and tasty it was. Even more unexpected was the quality of my latte. So good I had to have a second cup. A really decent meal to set us up for a cold evening on the terraces. Charlie's is a basic, unpretentious café, serving the usual pies, all day breakfast, pasta plus other typical café fare. Difference is, they do it really well with tasty meals served by friendly staff and at very reasonable prices. I hope it will not be long until I visit Charlie's again.

I recently visited Crispy Dosa Watford and had a genuinely lovely experience. From the moment we walked in, the aroma of spices and sizzling dosas instantly set the tone. The staff were warm and attentive, and the ambiance had a clean, modern touch while still feeling cozy and welcoming. We ordered a variety of dishes, but the star of the show was definitely the dosa – perfectly crisp on the outside, soft inside, and paired beautifully with the chutneys and sambar. I especially recommend the Masala Dosa and the Gobi Manchurian as starters – full of flavor and spice done just right. Everything was reasonably priced, and portion sizes were generous. It’s great to see an all-vegetarian menu with plenty of vegan options too. This place is a gem for anyone craving authentic South Indian food in Watford – I’ll definitely be back!
