Average food on the go not like it use to be during my childhood school days. I think maybe management has changed but the taste has also changed alot especially their chicken donner meat the way i use to like it.

Waited over 2 hours for my delivery. Everytime I called i was told thr driver was 2 minutes away. This went in for over an hour. The food came and was cold, stale and disgusting. An absolute waste of £50. Avoid at all costs

The food had arrived, all the food has gone off, yet they still delivered it. The donner meat, the chicken also the mayonnaise in the tubs has gone off. We've phoned up to mention this, only to be told - to take it up with " just eat ". Very disappointed. Avoid this place.

I went to pick up the food.. very fresh. My kids enjoy their fish and chips. The uncle there is very kind- Try once and u surely would go back again. Affordable

Their special donnar with chips is absolutely vile. It’s like curried meat into chunks slapped over some chips. Absolutely disgusting. Always late, always something missing from order, not enough sauce at all over the food. Nasty. Don’t order from here

I Bought a pizza ver thin and not properly cooked

Have been going to this chip shop for many years. But recently the quality is not very good at all. With so many alternatives, I don't think I will be going here again.

Honestly should’ve read the reviews before ordering my own fault.. Food tasted so bad, kebab was definitely old as it was dry and stale, chips tasted uncooked. 2 hours after eating and my stomach won’t stop turning, I really recommend avoiding this shop at all cost.

Since discovering the spicy scallops, I've made it a mission of mine to purchase them at any given opportunity. I don't live in the area, however, if I am out and about, I have a duty to detour and get a few of those. I'm vegetarian but used to eat meat. The lamb (sorry sheep!) was really nice to. Staff are always polite when I go in :)

I was up from London 1 evening and did my traditional pit stop at Charlie's for lovely scallops with plent salt & viniger and tandoori chicken wings both the yummiest ever.... Can you believe this we do not get scallops in London if you ask a chippy in London they look at you with a blank face Anyway...lost track thinking of there food. When ever your at Aston definitely pop in to Charlie's on Whitton Road Aston Birmingham

The food is great for really good prices but if ordering on Uber eats they like to take the piss with their delivery timings I’d suggest ordering half an hour in advance because they never stick to their estimated times

Thier service is bad. I ordered a panini meal on Uber eats and specifically chose chilli for the fries and a vimto drink. Food took 1 Hour and 10 minutes to arrive and it was cold and soggy. The panini and soaked in mayo with very limited filling. It was bland and had no taste. Fries had no chili as I requested and no drink was provided. No wonder there cheap there food is bullocks. Save your money and buy from a place that values your food.

Purchase 8 pieces wings and chip, the pieces looks old and dry at the back so I asked him to give me the pieces from the front, he ignored me then said they all fresh, but it was a lie the wings taste very bad

Ordered from this kebab house, arrived in the given time but omg, the food was absolutely vile and disgusting, even animals are fed better food that is cooked with care, but how is this place actually not closed down? Everything was cold and horrible. The pizza was undercooked and the toppings were soggy. The fries were also undercooked, rubbery and dripping with oil. The niblets were definitely old and not fresh, possibly left overs. Avoid this takeaway as you'll only make yourself unwell. 🤢

Ordered for delivery, food was cold and they didn't send what I'd ordered... why ask people to select items from your menu and then send something else, just doesn't make sense! The food that was delivered to me was embarrassing, looked like leftovers put in a box, looked like I'd been begging on the streets for it!!!! WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!

They used to be HMC, but not anymore as of writing this review. Disappointing as I now have to stop eating from them. I was a regular customer eating multiple times a week, but have to stop now. No HMC means I can't trust their halal status anymore. Get HMC certified again I would advice the owner, or start losing customers.

If you’re looking to order food from here don’t do it, it’s not worth it. I ordered food and they forgot my large donner meat and chips that’s the second time they done that. I have given this place 2 chances and they messed up both times, not worth the money. DONT ORDER FROM HERE.

To begin with, it's good that they make a fresh naan for you when you order; and the quality of it is decent. However, there's absolutely no excuse to serve burnt food. Food was ordered for 3 people, and the meat and all 3 servings were burnt. I shall not be coming back here.

Guy on the phone took the order and said 20 minutes. When I arrived to collect I was told they don't have the order. Wasted 30 minutes of my time and the staff were disrespectful as there were no apologies. I showed them the proof on my phone that i had made the call even then they just waved it off😤. Disappointing service as I usually come here often.

As you can probably gauge from the other reviews, this is a horrible place and you must avoid at all costs. They sold us old chicken several times which caused us to become ill.

I ordered food from this place never will I ever order again! Waste of money !! I understand if you are busy and don't have enough fresh chicken or doner don't accept the order!! U don't accept and send food that is not edible felt bad for my kids but it is what it is. Shame the chicken was hard an I paid extra for large doner got a small one. Hardly any salad just a touch an tiny mayo. This place has gone downhill.

Disgusting treatment from staff who are supposed to be professionals, gave us burnt fries and when we complained they put the phone down and accused us of lying about the quality of the fries. Not ordering from here again due to the horrific service and the terrible food. I also had to repeat my address ten times and spell it for him and he still couldn’t understand if your going to get someone to take orders please for the love of god ensure they can understand English to a certain level.

Avoid unless you fancy food poisoning. Witnessed first hand raw chicken breast being handled with the same tongs being used to grill cooked lamb doner. Walked out immediately with the staff puzzled why.

Food is always good at Charlie’s … Chicken Tikka is unique i highly recommend you try it. Doner is also tasty here and always fresh, although the portions have become a bit smaller lately. Over all this place never disappoints 👍

Good food. However they take ages when you order via justeat and Uber. A few times I've ordered and it's taken upto 2hours for the food to be delivered. Wouldn't recommend ordering online at all. Best to go to the shop and order food.

I ordered a Donner Burger meal from this place and it was horrible. The Donner meat was cold, the chips were soggy and they didn't put chilli and mayo on the chips, even though I asked for it. Nevertheless, don't buy food from this place.

Amazing value for money. Coming from London to watch the Villa, we always visit Charlie's. Good tasting fish and chips, Halal beef savloy. Great service and Absolutely amazingly cheap.

I pay for this item, u don't give me a free. Customer want good quality food. I will never order from this take away.

We phoned them which resulted in them telling us they’d send out the correct items. 1 hour and a half later I’ve called to ask where the food is to which they replied we’ll give it you next time. I can assure you there won’t be a next time. Service was poor all round and the man on the phone was rude

I've been eating here for many years, but recently the service has become abysmal. The lines are cut off so you can't call them no matter how many times you try. The food says delivered but then it says it's gonna be another 30 minutes and on multiple occasions they have gotten the order wrong and refused to fix it that day. Will not be ordering from here again. Must be a different ownership.

Unfortunately the service alone brings this down to a 1 star review. The food is okay to be fair but there are better options locally. But the service of some of the staff here is just terrible. Used to be a pretty decent Chippy, just poor now.

I’ve been using Charlie’s for many many many years (25+years) and I’ve gotta say that every meal I have now from here it’s getting worse by day.. I didn’t want to write this review but it’s gone so bad here that I have too.. I picked up some food on Tuesday afternoon and it was disgusting.. we ordered a lot of niblets too and all smelt of fish.. I’m definitely sure that they fried the chicken in that same masala fish oil.. my son got really sick after eating here this time round.. hygiene wise too it’s filthy in there.. the guys don’t wash their hands regularly, plus when they do they’ve still got some food left on their hands.. it’s a 2 second rinse.. I’m just so disappointed that these legendary established local businesses are going down this path.. I’m seriously so gutted and definitely won’t be ordering from here ever again!! 25yrs ago this Charlie’s was one of the best.. and now it’s one of the worst..

Rude staff. Found a small piece of metal in pizza. Gave me old donner kebab, looked like left over pieces that couldn't be cut and smashed a kebab for keema on my pizza. Got my order wrong and ordered alot of food but was only allowed 1 chilli tub. Avoid this shop

I’m going to update my good review. 2 orders in a row bad food. Our orders are not £20 it’s more towards £40 to £100. Masala fish grilled was soggy. Chicken niblets are like super overcooked. If I wanted food which I would feed dogs I would have went to Tesco and brought cans. Beside all of this, when you complain to notify of mistakes all they can do is laugh about it! The excuse they out with that’s todays bad food from supplier. What a joke. We don’t want free food but at least accept your mistakes and rectify them. Looks like the owner is neglecting his neighbourhood and he rather do business for football matches which he over charges the fans by covering the price board. So mr Rizwan get your act together

Charlie's is your "Ghetto fish bar". It's small and dinghy. Very humid inside. There's many alternative places to eat then this place in Witton. I'd only go there if everything else is closed. It's certainly not value for money. Say hello to the toilet the very next day after visiting Charlie's.

Seriously the grilled chicken burger meals, omdzzz, chips amazing, and the grilled chicken so tasty n juicy, was my first time been there, but I'm writing this review one month later lol, and I've been bk 3 more times it's that tasty, and I'll be back many more times also

Delivery driver was waiting outside for an hour just to pick up the food. Chips tasted absolutely disgusting not how normal chips would taste. More like frozen chips not cooked properly. Ordered chicken tikka pizza and meat feast aswel as cheese and tomato. All pizzas were covered in cheese and no toppings on them at all. Honestly save your money and order elsewhere. Hygiene rating is a 2 seen this after placed the order

If I could give less than 0 stars I would. Absolutely disgusted with the hygiene, or rather the lack thereof at Charlie’s fishbar. Firstly I only received part of the order. Secondly, in opening the box of niblets and chips I was mortified to find a fried bug and short pieces of hair on the chicken and chips. I called the takeaway and informed them of the issue. I was told but the ridiculous member of staff that “there’s no way the bug came from Charlie’s” and that “the driver must’ve put the bug there”. Please don’t waste your money on Charlie’s unless you fancy yourselves some fried daddy long legs.
