Charlie Chan's Chicken Shack Whitstable in Canterbury

We visited this weekend as we have wanted to try this place since it opened earlier this year. I wish we went sooner! There’s a great variety to cater for everyone…allergies/vegetarians/kids/spicy or not spicy. We tried the bubble waffle with chicken, Singapore chicken tenders and the kids had the very generous kids meal. The chicken is so tender with great flavour and 90% of their menu is gluten free (I’m coeliac) so I was very happy as I can’t normally have food like this. We will definitely be back. Thank you 😊

Stopped over in Whitstable the night before staying for a week in Canterbury Lodge Retreat. Had seen these chicken wings on the BBC Kent local news the week before heading down from Somerset. Had to seek them out, which took us a good half an hour. Well the time was not wasted. We ordered Korean chicken wings, chicken strips, loaded fries and a delicious coleslaw. These came with free bubble teas, which I had never heard of. I loved them, although my wife was not keen on the texture. However, the food was fantastic, full of flavour, perfectly cooked and plenty of it. The photos speak for themselves. We enjoyed it so much, we diverted back to Whitstable six days later, when returning from a day out at Chatham Historic Dock Yard. This time we stuck to the wings (with the spicy sauce) and the fries. This was more than enough. The service was first class. Friendly staff, who were efficient and professional. I saw that nobody had written a review on TripAdvisor, so thought I should encourage people to get down to the SOUTH KEY SHED at the harbour side.
