Have been to the coffee shop with friends twice recently. The first time was in the afternoon on a Saturday and we didn't realise that the coffee shop closed at 3pm! The assistant closed up and started vacuuming but did not rush us away and we stayed for another half hour chatting. It is a shame it is not open a bit longer. The second time we went in the morning and the coffee shop was busier. There are quite a number of tables so plenty places to sit. Both times the staff were pleasant. and the coffee shop clean. The scones are very nice. Would come back again.

I like the quiet atmosphere of this cafe but really disappointing in this day & age I can’t get a latte or cappuccino made with dairy free milk. I was offered cold dairy free to go with a coffee. Mmm... not really the same! Settled for a black coffee & my mug was about 3/4 full! Surely, knowing I wasn’t having milk, it could have been filled up? Will have to try somewhere else.

Este es un café encantador con una encantadora selección de pasteles, por ejemplo, bollos y otras cosas como papas al horno y sopa. Me gusta ya que no es una cadena y luego puedes navegar en la tienda.

I always look forward to a visit to the café in Michie's when I'm in Aberdeen. It seems to be a popular meeting place for local people. It's a friendly cafe with good coffee, cakes etc.

We were unaware of this place till we were 20 minutes early for a nearby appointment and this was handy for a coffee. It was about 20 to 4 and they stopped serving at 4 - no problem there, but where my wife had sat down, fairly near the servery, was not suitable as we were asked to move - as they would be hoovering shortly! Prices very fair - 2 coffees and two scones (smallish) £7.80. Ambience only fair. Probably in the same circumstances I would try somewhere different.

I have visited this café on a fairly regular bases for the past 25 years. I have always enjoyed the pleasant service and high quality food. Recently though they have made some changes and one of these is to charge £1 for a pot of hot water. I like my tea weak and absolutelynowhere else have I ever been charged at all for a pot of hot water to accompany my pot of tea & scone. Much as I love this café & the home baked goodies I will be looking for another venue.

Much more than just a Chemist!! It also houses a gift shop, a coffee shop, chiropodist, etc.... The gift shop is perfect for Scottish souvenirs and gifts with a difference.

Ive been a few times and thought it was ok despite seeing reviews that weren't too good. This last visit might be my last visit. I agree with previous comments regarding getting some hot water free as teapots very small and half gets spilled when you try and pour into cup. I think its terrible to ask for money for an additional cup of hot water. If I go back I will get assistant to pour the tea from pot to the cup to see how much is spilled and then they can fill it free of charge !!! Another grumble is that the place is always full of very old people who are there every day-fine but then it maybe puts off a different type of customer. Ive also noticed a wrapper on a shelf that i saw over a week ago-not cleaned ! Anyway there are loads of better places out there with happier staff serving you.

I visited Charles Michies chemist picking up a prescription for a family member, i had to wait 10-15 minutes for the prescription so i popped downstairs for a quick cuppa, and was really impressed with the cafe! The prices are very reasonable compared to many places up that area of town. I had a cheese scone, and a pot of tea (which I was very impressed to see for a £1 charitable donation you could get a refill of tea) and it was the most beautiful scone i have ever eaten. The staff were so friendly and very helpful. Will definitely be visiting again!

I haven't been here before for coffee but had a free hot drink card to use from a friend.i had the fruit scone which was nice and the free tea but was baffled by the charge for extra hot water, free elsewhere I go! You had to contribute a £1 for charity. Overall very dated and uncomfortable seats although staff pleasant enough. The toilet's are from another era and definitely need updating very tired and don't seem too clean. It seems to be older clientele who come here but why! There are a lot better places in the vicinity.

If you wish hot water with your pot of tea you have to pay an extra £1. Otherwise you are stuck with a very small pot of tea that you may find too strong. In over 60 years of enjoying cups of tea in tearooms and retaurants all over the UK I have never experienced this before. Given the bleak underground surroundings one would have expected some encouragement to patronise the establishment rather than the opposite!

Having not been in Michie's coffee shop for ages, decided to meet a friend for a cuppa there. Although the staff were friendly and very welcoming, the decor in the coffee shop is grotty - dated and peeling wall paper and an air of "tiredness" pervades..... The coffee was drinkable but not particularly tasty and my scone was rock hard. Sadly, won't be going there again! We need to keep Union Street alive but there are better places to go that are not any more expensive and may be cheaper?

Really quite a horrible place, charge an arm and a leg for stuff, much less expensive in the rest of town. The quality of the items for sale and in the cafe is poor and just doesn’t justify a visit.

This used to be a great place for a scone & tea/coffee, reasonably priced. Lately though the sandwiches, potatoes & soup seem more expensive for less. The quality was OK, as it usually is.

Delicious warm blueberry muffin and an apple and cinnamon muffin here for breakfast. Coffee, however, not good, tasted like dishwater, so neither of us finished our drinks. Would visit again for muffins but not coffee. Toilet out of order, but used for staff to change. Staff friendly.

We visited this Costa this afternoon after what had been a long tiresome day hoping to get a nice coffee before our journey home. There were dirty tables and when we asked a member of staff to clean one so we could sit down we got a mouthful of abuse. So we left and went upstairs to the Pret a Manger which was much busier but they had nice clean tables and welcoming staff. Will not be visiting Costa again but would definitely recommend the Pret a Manger if you are visiting the Bon Accord Centre!
