Charcoal Grill in South Ribble

Not sure what's changed as it used to be brilliant but food was quite cold, pizza base had changed and toppings were pretty sparse. Not the usual quality.

Order wrong and not there usual standard in quality salad box lettuce and one puny cut of tomato

bland. pizza bland.... garlic sauce so spicy (garlic) .

food was never delivered but just eat states it has been delivered. rang restaurant and they offered to send the food out again.. I will report back if I get this order

got here and all my sauce was spilled all over the bag and found and took a bite of my chips to find a big ball of hair in my mouth from the food not only that but the driver showed up banging on my door and rushed me away

We’ve ordered 4 kebabs for the first time from this place food arrived cold two kebabs had wrong toppings on wrong sauces and didn’t come in the boxes like the Oder two but were wrapped in paper which was difficult to eat. Definitely don’t recommend as it wasn’t cheap either won’t order again from here such a shame

Something has gone badly wrong here recently. The portions are miniscule now and the deliveries keep arriving cold. It's ashame it used to be good but I will be looking elsewhere now.

In my numerous years as a patron of the Charcoal Grill in Leyland, I have consistently enjoyed their offerings, usually every Friday evening. Cherishing the high quality and delightful flavors that seemed to be a hallmark of their service. It is with a heavy heart, however, that I pen this review, reflecting on a recent experience that fell dramatically short of the expectations set by years of positive encounters. On the evening of February 9, 2024, at approximately 6:30 pm, my anticipation for a comforting meal was met with profound disappointment. The core of my discontent lies not only in the quality of the food received but in the manner of service that accompanied it. (A Mr Patel , if thats his real name! Was very aggressive and wasnt my usual order taker) The Charcoal Grill has been synonymous with warmth and professionalism, qualities conspicuously absent in my latest interaction. The food, which I had eagerly awaited as usual, arrived not only an hour past the expected delivery time but in a condition far from what one would deem acceptable. It was not merely lukewarm; the meal was undeniably cold, having been delivered in a plastic bag. This method of packaging, devoid of any insulation, seemed to have stripped the meal of its essence and warmth. My astonishment was compounded when it was revealed that, although dispatched in a heater bag, this measure was abandoned in favor of keeping the heater bag in the car, a decision that baffles and disappoints. When I reached out to address these issues, seeking nothing more than a constructive resolution, I was met with a response that was as cold as the meal I received. The individual ( the so called Mr Patel) who addressed my concerns was not only conflictual but argumentative, displaying a disconcerting unwillingness to listen or empathize with the situation presented. He stated... i will inform the boss on his return!!! Which begs another question. This interaction was a stark departure from the customer service ethos I had come to associate with the Charcoal Grill, leaving me not only dissatisfied with my meal but deeply concerned about a notable decline in customer service standards. Such experiences lead one to ponder what has transpired behind the scenes to precipitate this decline in both food quality and service. The Charcoal Grill, a cherished establishment within our community, has always been more than a mere vendor of food; it has been a source of delight, a place where quality and care were evident in every interaction. It is my sincere hope that this review serves as a constructive critique, prompting a reflection on the values and practices that once made the Charcoal Grill a paragon of culinary excellence and customer service. As a loyal customer, it is with a sense of responsibility that I voice these concerns publicly, hopeful for a return to the high standards (or a call) that have defined the Charcoal Grill for years. The path forward lies in addressing these lapses in quality and service, ensuring that future experiences mirror the excellence that has been the hallmark of the Charcoal Grill in Leyland. Unfortunately, and only recently, be prepared for late, cold unacceptable food with intriguing offensive customer service.

Ordered a Large chicken kebab, with salad and meat samosas for delivery. Arrived earlier than expected. Meat samosas were nice and spicy, but lacked filling. The kebab was cold, the chicken was bland and lacked taste. As for the salad, well if you can call it that, was a bit of shredded lettuce and even less onion and I think my mayo is still in the pot. I used to use them regularly, but they went down hill and they don’t appear to have improved any.

Thank you for supplying the pizzas for our 24 hour sponsored bounce the club loved them and it kept them going through the night

Ordered a lamb kebab, I was so disappointed when the food arrived, I asked for no onions which was honoured but lack of tomato and cucumber, the naan was extremely thin more like a chapati than a naan. I usually allows go here for my lamb kebab but this has put me off.

Would you pay £9.90 for this? The chips are microwaved which they denied. The food was shavings of meat. Hardly no salad. I'm actually a regular customer and always give them the benifit of doubt when I've had a problem. This time I have rung due to having family around and spending over £80 and this is the quality and a lame excuse that they are busy and rushed of their feet. Offered free chips. Shocking

sorry to say, worst pizza I've had in Leyland, the base was like a frozen one from the supermarket, and no taste, chips where the only decent thing I got, total waste of 30quid

Chicken kebab was one of the worst I've had. Bread was stale, salad was just cabbage, chicken was dry and tasteless....... Now to top it off I'm coincidentally stuck on the loo all night with it coming out both ends. Food never makes me ill so this is an achievement!

I've been here multiple times and the food is amazing. Really fresh breads, fab flavours and decent lads looking after you. Watching them prep other people's meals, make your mouth water. Certainly not shy on portions and good quality. Highly recommend. NB. Usually collect so can't speak for delivery but foods amazing.

Usually good food from here and have ordered several times over past few years but quality of the food has rapidly gone downhill over last couple months. I can't believe that this is what you get served after paying nearly 10 pound each for a kebab!

Haven't ordered from here for ages just had an extra large chicken and donner kebab and it was excellent they are on top of our list for kebabs

Always really nice food, they had missed part of an order but when I rang up they rectified it extremely quickly! They were so nice about it. The food always comes piping hot and never had a bad takeaway from there

Will not be ordering from here again never had problems but food came stone cold and they decided to put chips with garlic source in a paper bag so the paper was stuck to the chips but will not be ordering from here again

Hands down their chicken kebab with mayo, dipped in a side of chilli sauce and extra may was the best kebab I've ever had in all my years of ordering take away. First time and will not be my last. As well their boneless fried chicken has a nice kick to it, and perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, I'm blown away!!! Plus very cheap!!

Cheesy chips were fine and the pizzas I’ve had before were good. Wouldn’t get fried chicken from this place. Got a chicken wrap and it was the soggiest breaded chicken I’ve ever seen. Inedible so had to throw it out.

Normally the food is very good. This is my usual place to go for a large mix kebab and chips. Kebab was cold and tasteless. Chips were cold and taste only part cooked. Shame because it's normally lovely.

I have been a customer for over 15 years, I will have to reconsider. The pizzas are often extremely undercooked. I understand energy costs are higher than they used to be, but I expect my food edible without having to put it in the oven for 10 minutes just so the topping doesn't fall off and the base isn't soggy! Sort your it out.

Can’t complain about the food or the people but they’ve introduced delivery and also the prices have jumped quite a bit. For example cans use to be 90p then jumped to £1.20 and then the same with everything else.

Had to be the crappiest pizza I've ever had. Thinner than a paper plate and nearly as flat as a crepe! Disappointed to say the least. I wish this allowed me to upload a photo just so you can see I'm not exaggerating. This is what happens when you decide to order from somewhere different for a change. Won't be ordering again.

Food was dry, Shish cut into such small pieces it was all over cooked and dry… barely any sauce, and the “bread” it came in was tasteless. Never again

So the food was amazing, the garlic bread and cheese was very warm hence the one star missing, but everything else was piping hot as it was wrapped in tinfoil. Tasty as always. It was just about the sheer amount of time it took it to be delivered. But there’s lots of reasons it could have been over and hour and a half later than given. The driver was very apologetic and so sweet. So highly recommended 😊

Sorry guys been coming to you for eight years but won't be ordering again. thank you very much for the last delivery, I'd rather not say why, but in this case , and just for the sake of me asking for a little sauce on the side being called by you after all the money I've spent over the years and this being the first time you've ever complained to me , that you should be charging for the sauce !! All I asked was don't put it on the samosas keep it separate. For you to ring me and ask me to pay in future for sauce because you sell it in tubs is ridiculous , thank you once again but it's a no from me in future. I will go and buy them put them in the air fryer and do them myself. Good luck with your trade.

The meat was absolutely divine! Unfortunately the bread was stale and the salad was hugely lacking. Half a slice of tomato, barely half a lettuce leaf and a sprinkle of cabbage. A real shame as the meat was just so lovely!
