One of my favourite places to go for food and drink at any time of the day. Staff are perfect. Dog friendly.

Would highly recommend- excellent food and service (Rogers was amazing!!).

The food was good. The restaurant was clean modern and smart. The service was generally good and efficient if slightly restrained but we had to send the bill back twice to be corrected

A superb experience. We came here for my brother's and sister in law's wedding and they looked after us superbly. The food was exquisite, the staff were helpful and charming. I didn't have to pay so it was a wonderful experience!

Visited Chapters this evening. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I ordered chicken Ballantine with Cous Cous, Mediterranean Vegetables & Chimichurri . This dish was really nice but unfortunately not enough chicken Ballantine. Nice surroundings , in a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely worth another visit.

We booked this restaurant for my daughter's wedding lunch and it was absolutely wonderful. Lovely, welcoming staff, great location and atmosphere, and really fantastic food. After attending a wedding the day before , we decided to eat before setting off on our journey home. We had a lovely breakfast here, the food was outstanding, as was the service and staff. Lovely location. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We were so well looked after coming here for a Sunday roast to end our weekend - from the moment we entered to a warm welcome to the incredibly helpful and attentive staff and the cheerful way we were interacted with, this was one of the absolute best ways to end a wonderful weekend

Great atmosphere.. live music when we visited.. 3 course meal.. great service.. realy nice decor.. plenty of parking.. book in advance as it seems a really busy place.. they offer breakfast frok 11am.. and have roast dinner on Sundays.. vegetarian options available..

The service that we received as soon as we entered was great, very friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing, hats off to the chef. We wanted to highlight one team member in particular, Thomas. Thomas was attentive, helpful, friendly, professional and created a lovely, relaxing atmosphere for us! It’s been a long time since we’ve been somewhere and received quality service like that. It was also the best roast, we cannot wait to return!

This is the Café where it sets standards and every Café/restaurant follows! The feel is warm and inviting! Truly British hospitality at its finest, We had great breakfast, no where in Birmingham! We had a lovely lunch today at Chapter. Our waiter was Thomas and he was fab! Made our anniversary lunch really special and made sure we’ll be back for Sunday lunch. The set menu for lunch is really good value - I’d definitely recommend

Wow what can I say, from the moment we walk through the door everything was exceptional. From the staff to the decor to the atmosphere. We loved it all but most of all the food was outstanding

Well cooked sole. Wanted to have the asparagus side dish but they said they couldn't cook it without butter or oil which is a bit strange. Desserts took an age to come out too.

I have nothing but fantastic things to say about the team and food at Chapter. I recently held a rather large celebratory luncheon and Irene and her team provided a 5* service. They were faultless and we were 28 people alone, so it wasn't an easy job everything was seamless. Not only is the produce locally sourced and fresh but their menus are seriously good value for money too. You'd be silly to give this place a miss even if it's for a quiet lunch by yourself on a Friday afternoon with a crisp glass of white. Can't wait to return, thank you again

If you are looking for a venue for a special occasion or function then look no further. We had our wedding reception here back in January for over a 100 guests and we could not have wished for a better venue. Chapter guided us through organising our special evening and did not disappoint. The staff could not do enough for our guests and the food was exceptional. We cannot thank Chapter enough for all there effort which resulted in a fantastic and very memorable night. We would highly recommend Chapter for any function or celebration. Without doubt we will be returning!!

Went for Sunday Lunch with a friend and the atmosphere was great, it was busy but not loud which was lovely, perfect if you want to catch up with friends/family. I got there and waited at the table for my friend for maybe 15-20minutes but no one came to take a drink order or offer water while I waited which was disappointing, especially because I couldn’t catch anyone’s attention being sat in the far corner no walked past which is fair enough. I think if I had waited in the bar area maybe it would have been better. My friend and I were on a bit of a budget so only went with a main course and we didn’t order alcohol (personally for budget reasons but my friend doesn’t drink for religious reasons) which was clearly disappointing for the person who served us when we didn’t want to look at wine list. I ordered the beef and my friend ordered the veggie pie which was mushroom. The beef was so tender, flavourful and the plate had three good slices of beef which I really enjoyed, I would definitely recommend but the mushroom pie was nothing special and fell a bit flat in comparison, especially in size and flavour, as it was really quite small and the flavour was ok but my friend wouldn’t order it again. We also had a side of cauliflower cheese was fab and big enough for two people to share, however the size of the other veg sides was on the smaller side. We had a perfectly nice experience and for the price, for me it was good value £23 for a roast dinner plus a £6 side is as good a value as you can get especially when it really hit the spot for me on flavour. I do think our experience would have been better had we had two or three courses, because servers would have been over to the table more so we could ask for drinks as we struggled to catch anyone’s eye and our empty jug of water was removed and not replaced, not overly an issue but given that we didn’t have wine it would have made us feel better looked after even though we obviously weren’t big spenders and only a table of 2. The 12.5% service charge did feel like a bit of a pinch when we were sat without water for long enough that I’m commenting on it and the service was fine but I can see how a customer ordering wine and multiple courses might feel the 12.5% tip was appropriate. So, I would recommend Chapter for Sunday Lunch if you’re a foodie, it was delicious as a meat eater but I’d opt for the two or three courses for the experience which I definitely will the next time my parents offer to foot the bill. Also, very interested to experience Chapter during a dinner service to compare.

We very much enjoyed Sunday lunch here. The Sunday menu provides the expected choices for a Sunday roast. There is a vegetarian and a fish option. The food was excellent and the service from staff was friendly and professional. The atmosphere was relaxed. Perfect for Sunday lunch.

Visiting Chapter for a meal never fails to disappoint and visiting for brunch on Sunday (21st January) was no different. I booked with Chapter for our charity board of trustees to meet together, welcome new board members, have brunch together and start planning our new year ahead. Aswell, as the gorgeous brunch (absolutely recommend the Creamy Mushrooms), nothing was too much trouble for the attentive team. From giving us a quiet table in the window so we could catch the morning sunshine rays while we dined, to making sure we were topped up with coffees throughout. The beautiful calm atmosphere in the restaurant was such a pleasure to be in. It was also great to look back and reminisce about our charity bus launch with Chapter just a few months ago in October 2023. Good vibes and food on a gorgeous street away from the bustle of city

I have had the pleasure of dining here several times and find all the dishes exquisite. The welcome is warm and friendly and service attentive and paced. Never feeling rushed, you are made to feel you’re the only guest despite it always being full, and each course can be savoured. Never disappointed and highly recommended. Thank you!

Xmas meal with some friends. Not too loud, we could hold a conversation. Food was lovely, eclipse cocktail Great!

Pricey, and disappointing. Slow service considering it wasn’t busy and had to wait 30 minutes to receive my drink! ! Then…. It really makes a difference if a cocktail is presented nicely! This was just a very poor performance…. Small things make a massive difference. Utterly disappointed. Service and quality is going downhill. Won’t be returning any time soon 🙅‍♀️

This place is amazing!!! The food was wonderful. I had the scallops for ch1, venison for ch2, and millefeulle for dessert. The service was impeccable as were the accommodations. Would go there again in a heartbeat. The young lady who helped me was very attentive.

A friend and I held a joint birthday party at Chapter in September - inviting around 40 people for drinks and finger food. Chapter did a wonderful job - as witnessed by how many of our guests commented on the quality of the food, service and ambience after the event. We had a great time and Irene and her team met all our expectations and exceeded them. I definitely recommend Chapter for a party/group event - it was excellent!

There are actually quite limited options in Birmingham for a restaurant to do a mass catering event where guests can mingle. Chapter is the outstanding choice. They hosted my sixty guests after my son's christening brilliantly: a large open space by the bar, looking out onto lovely Greenfield Crescent. The food - canapes and bowl food - was characteristically excellent. One of the best restaurants in the city.

Organised a Sunday lunch for 13 of us, everything we r very well- table was ready, plenty of staff on hand to sort drinks and food orders out - all done super efficiently and excellent service levels. The food was very well presented- all courses and very very good. Also no rush to reclaim the table. Well worth a visit, we will be going back soon. PS our spend was high due to all the cocktails and wine the guests drank!!

Having recently eaten here I find myself compelled to at least notify others who enjoy lamb curry. Without a doubt I enjoyed the best lamb curry here at this restaurant and its not even an Indian restaurant. So reassuring that Birmingham can offer the highest of standards when serving food. Well done!

Very disappointing experience of cold food and poor cooking. Never been to a restaurant that had no bread to eat with the soup!! Perhaps it was all used up for the bread puddings (which were tolerable but unexciting). I’m a regular customer and after a couple of good years will hope the manager remembers our complaints. We’re not at all sure they did register with him, but perhaps IF he reads this, change will be in the offing? Given time we might return

Went for the set lunch menu here a couple of weeks ago. Apart from having to remind staff about drinks not arriving after 20 minutes of ordering them, I can’t fault this restaurant at all. Very tasty food, beautifully presented and generous portions; we didn’t go hungry at all. Service was great in that there was always someone to clear the table of excess crockery and refilling the water glasses. I will happily visit Chapter again to sample their other dishes.

Went for lunch with my wife mid week as we live just around the corner but hadn’t tried before. The food was beautifully presented and so tasty, can’t believe we’ve been missing out all this time! The staff are friendly attentive. We were so impressed that we are booked to go back with our family for her birthday meal. Extremely good value.

Found this place by accident Will definitely be back The service was friendly, the food was amazing. The mushroom tart with truffle was delightful. The Mac&Cheese served with the fish was stunning, so light and never overpowered the fish. Fabulous and although not cheap represented excellent value for money

Great food, really attentive service. It was a Thursday night, but still a shame only 3 tables eating so lacked a bit of atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back great value for money.

We went twice so far and both times during the day so it was pretty quiet. We still like it and we look forward to going back the third time. Hopefully having some food this time also to go with our delicious cocktail or two :)

We hosted a 30th birthday party at Chapter last weekend and had such a fantastic time! The staff went above and beyond to help us - from the planning phase right through to the end of the evening itself (they even stayed open a little later to accommodate us!) The food is great and the drinks are a fair price, including a happy hour from 10pm-11pm with £5 cocktails. For anyone who wants a classy but comfortable venue for their next event I'd highly recommend Chapter. Thanks guys!

Really liked the food, but the service was slightly intrusive and we talked to around 5 different staff, at first it was almost comical, as an order for a larger shandy was too difficult to comprehend, it did settle down. My partner who was facing the kitchen mentioned it was off-putting to see staff scraping food leftovers off a plate into the bin.

Discovered this lovely place via the cocktail weekend 2023. Lovely place, very friendly staff. The cocktails I tried were so nice. Cockney stairs was my favourite 😍. Great find, definitely a place I will be going back too. Went back a month later and had the lobster and quite a few more of their cocktails. One of my favourite places to go.

Chapter hosted my birthday party - a group of about 25. The food was outstanding, the staff helpful friendly and professional. Drinks were reasonably priced and excellent choice everyone got what they wanted. Wine list is extensive and fantastic. The venue is beautiful. The food from the bar menu was an enormous hit with everyone from my teenage nephews to my elderly parents. Highly recommended!! Give it a try!

My family and I (24 of us!) had a celebratory lunch at Chapter. From start to finish, arranging the booking to the dining experience was superb. We felt very 'looked after'. Thank you to Irene and the staff at Chapter for making our day so special.

A very underwhelming experience.... I thought this would be a perfect place for a date night yet I got to listen to Pitbull and Rita Ora... Service was okay, decent wine selection. Unfortunately the food wasn't great, my vegetable tian was terrible, it was basically grilled veg with ketchup (yes the tomato sauce tasted like Heinz)...no flavour, no seasoning on anything whatsoever, I was terribly disappointed... I did complain about it but no reaction from our server at all. The fish of the day my date had was good, although small portion. At least the dessert was good or my night would have been completely ruined.

Another fantastic experience and this time with the extended family numbering 26 and ranging from an 18month old , children, parents and grandparents. I was banking on Chapter to repeat their normal standard of high quality food and service and we weren't disappointed. My family helped me celebrate my special birthday at Chapter. What a good choice! Great location, we were a party of 16, we had a private area, two tables of eight, We began with welcome drinks on the terrace, followed by a delicious three course meal. Chapter staff so professional, attentive efficient service, the presentation and quality of the food was excellent. Will definitely be returning !!!

Irene, Ben and the rest of the team made our wedding day perfect. We took over the restaurant for our day. The food, service, organisation and preparation was first class. Menu was decided in collaboration and catered to our taste, but with a chapter twist. Every guest commented on how good the experience was, but it wasn’t as good as ours, as everything was done and thought about making it very easy for us to just turn up. The Chapter in Edgbaston is a hidden gem! Dog-friendly place, outdoors at least. The burger here is unparalleled, bursting with flavor and very well cooked, by far the best burger I've had in a while. Impeccable service and inviting ambiance complete the perfect dining experience. Great selection of cocktails, a must-visit spot.

We had a wonderful birthday lunch . We chose the a la carte menu ,but there was a 'Set lunchtime menu'. Every course was delicious and very well presented. Staff friendly, relaxing atmosphere. It was our second visit and we will be returning. Little gem tucked away in Edgbaston.

Great cocktails, lovely food and good service. It was very quiet the night we went so there wasn't much atmosphere but it's a nice setting.

Lovely resturant, we booked as a group of 6, was noisy but was very busy at the time. Food was nice, well presented, initially service was paced and attentive, some mistakes but not the end of the world. Only 3 stars as felt we were rushed by the waiter our plates being collecting whilst still eating etc, it was obvious he wanted to us to finish, he was talking about going home in a jokey way but you knew he meant it. There were no other bookings after us and it wasn’t particularly late but it wasn’t a good impression, not sure yet, may try it again…..

One of the best Restaurants I have been to in Birmingham.Service,ambiance and food quality were all excellent.I am comparing with some of the Michelin starred restaurants in Birmingham.Edgbaston village although a small area is worth a visit especially at night.Well done keep up the good work.

Definitely a hidden gem. We went there for celebrating my friends birthday. Its a Friday night but its surprised that its not a full house (people just miss this hidden gem!). We have ordered two starters, three main courses, three desserts and three cocktails. I would say the cocktail is ok but the food is absolutely amazing!! (Hope my photos can show properly, not sure why they disappear after refreshing the page). The fillet even cooked better than a luxury hotel (which is famous for the grilled steak) There were a few new staffs and needa more training but I believe they will be doing a great job in future! Again, thanks Chapter and their team!

Had a wonderful meal on Saturday afternoon. Lovely venue which feels special whilst still relaxed, fabulous open kitchen and great staff. Food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. I was so excited to get a brilliantly cooked xmas dinner l hadnt had to make myself ha! Quail was great too. Also extra points for using a great local bakery, that bread was exceptional!

Took my husband here for his birthday. He absolutely loved it and said it was the best steak he'd ever had in his life. I also had a really good meal. The reason I've knocked a star off is because despite me being observed to get my card out of my purse and use my pin to pay, my husband was asked if he'd like a receipt. It's a shame women still have to experience these daily acts of subtle sexism.

Chapter always provides fantastic food. The vegetarian options are a treat. Would highly recommend.
