Having been in this eating place for the first time,I ordered spaghetti bolognese and the rest of my family ordered other different dishes; But ordered spaghetti Bol.. that’s is a challenge to itself ,the bolognese wasn’t wat it say ;only minced beef and pork decent taste lack of tomato cooked only with onion and carrots and same herbs, One bruschetta on top of tomato a pile of cos lettuce never seen before The overall food looked very anemic very flat And how can a spaghetti bolognese as a starter cost £11, when a very large chicken and chips is only £12 there is no comparison it was nice experience though Room very cold and apart the name on the door There is lots of space to improve at the moment as Italian they got only wine and the owners

I had been recommended this place so wanted to see for myself. We were greeted by the staff and shown to our table. This was a tiny table for two and the end of the restaurant. The waiter was very good at explaining the specials board. Within 5 minutes people started walking past us to what we now know was the toilets. It was constant. The view I had was of the stock room. There should be a door to divide this off. Also keeping all your stock by toilets doesn’t seem very hygienic. When our food arrived it was nicely presented. My friend had lasagna which she said was tasteless. I had pizza which was nothing special. We were offered the desert menu we said no and the waiter was pleading with us don’t you just want even one. Not sure if he was on commission . No we didn’t we couldn’t wait to get out.Once he knew we were not going to have one his persona completely changed. I am not sure how it has got such rave reviews as we were certainly not impressed and would not return

Wow! First time here tonight with my husband . From the moment we walked In impeccable Italian welcome and service The food was stunning. Definitely remaindered us of cosy trattoria we experienced in Rome. Cannot believe we have only just recovered this gem. Will definitely be going back. Thank you for this amazing night

This small restaurant is in a row of shops in Gravelly Lane. Parking is on the road or side street nearby Pleasant friendly welcome on arrival. There was a heater near our table which was very acceptable as it was a cold day Service was friendly but very slow - we were there 2 .30 hours which I consider rather long for lunch. Restaurant has approximately 26 covers and was not particularly busy The food was well presented and tasty although the pork dish was rather greasy for my personal choice. Prices were reasonable Sadly having been recommended to this restaurant we were somewhat disappointed but.. possibly worth a second visit as the menu has a good selection

How wonderful it is to be able to go out to dinner and be catapulted into Italy, while remaining in the UK! The Venetian prosecco, the Emilian fettuccine, the Sicilian cannoli and the limoncello at the end of the meal, what a tour of Italy you took me on! Thanks and see you soon 😉

Wonderful food but the interior design could be improved especially the back room. For example..the sockets should not be at head height. The chair legs could have little socks to avoid noise.....

So I admit it is a small place and they are working with what they have got, but I don’t really want to be standing up from my table to let people by every 5 minutes. Took 35 minutes just to get our drinks and food ordered. Service was all over the place , I got asked how is every thing and we didn’t have any food or drinks to say if it was good. The only saving grace is the food, the pizza and garlic bread were spot on but that’s all I can really say. Wanted to love it but bad service and being very cramp let it down

First time visit off a recommendation, what a great find. The staff were amazing, attentive and obviously proud of their food. A typical trattoria you would expect to find in Italy. A concise menu of all the staples, plus a varied specials menu, great food!! We shall definitely return regularly. Thanks to Yasmin, front of house and Matteo and Kikay? in the kitchen.

My son who lives in Birmingham took us. The best I have tried in Italian cuisine. I have eaten in Italy and it is not always as good as here. The spectacular carbonara.

I found out about this little gem on a news story about the opening of their sister restaurant at The Roundhouse, Birmingham. I was so excited to go! I visited yesterday and the staff member who greeted me (sorry, I didnt get your name) was so lovely, friendly and was a true advocate of the restaurant (and pasdionate about the place and food)! She ran through the menu and specials board with great detail and wonderful personal recommendations! I actually changed my choice of food based upon her recommendations and the food didn’t disappoint and was just delicious as she described! I also ordered food to take away to cook at home, it was just so lovely! I can’t wait to go back and would highly recommend!

I decided to check it out for lunch and I'm so glad I did! It's small and cosy inside with very friendly staff. I started with arrancini balls and garlic ciabatta bun followed by aubergine parmigiana and truffle fries which was very obviously homemade and absolutely delicious. There was a very generous helping of truffles on the fries which you don't normally get. Even though I was full I had to check out their puddings and I had pistachio tart with rum and raisin ice-cream which again was delicious and was the perfect way to end the meal! The lovely waiter also offered us a glass of dessert wine on the house which was a nice touch. What a gem of a place as it looks very unassuming from the outside and I'm so chuffed these guys are doing well. I have already booked to go back next weekend with another friend!

A great, cozy little restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was very attentive. We had three courses and wine, and every dish was delicious. We ate early evening (5pm) and had the place to ourselves but as we were leaving it really started to fill up. Do book, and you are in for a treat.

May I begin with saying how exceptional the chef Matteo is with his craft and expertise....although, as an Italian myself, and on a visit with my momma as a treat, I feel compelled to share my experience as I was, somewhat, disappointed this evening. Initially, we were excited, but on arriving, our pre-booked table was not available, and the area in to which were were seated, was a a little bit cold, granted it is winter, but wearing a coat in a restaurant is not very comforting. New staff seemed rather rude and insisted on playing irritating music throughout the whole evening, when it would be expected to hear authentic Italian songs. There a little touches that need to be made, to create more comfortable surrounding, and out of respect for the wonderful owner and chef, we stayed, although my momma wanted to dine somewhere else, s she was freezing! But, at present, I feel, we will not return due to this evenings' experience, and possibly wait until warmer weather.

Came for a Christmas family meal this evening, sat 9 of us (6 adults 3 children) with no problems. Beautiful food and wonderful service, can’t wait to come back again

Great authentic, rustic Italian food

Absolutely beautiful, ignore these 1 star ratings I’m not sure what the problem was but can easily say it’s the best Italian I’ve ever had…better than what I’ve eaten in Italy tbh and way better than any in city, not even in the same league and couldn’t be if they tried. Not pretentious in the slightest, no rushing and very authentic. Great choice of dishes. Staff are lovely and super knowledgeable, I had clam pasta, we had the sharing platter to start..a board for 4 easily served the 6 adults and 3 kids. Can’t say enough good things for the place and will be back very soon.

I have to say the food is very good, not the “standard” boring crap you expect from “Italian” restaurants, the staff are great too, they really are, but the venue needs addressing, I understand they are moving into the city, so if they keep the same quality of food & staff they could be on to a winner !

Truly a special place run by special people! Having been fortunate enough to eat in Italy on many occasions, it is amazing to get a truly authentic Italian experience in Birmingham. The atmosphere and the service from the staff is fantastic and the food is easily the best Italian I have tasted outside of Italy (and tbh, I am struggling to remember anything better in Italy!). Great food and value for money and will be returning often.

Friendly staff, superb cooks. Original and authentic Italian food at a very good price. We had 3 courses and coffee each for 4 people and a bottle of wine between us for £140. Will definately return

Me and my family were really looking forward to trying this place out. Unfortunately the food was really bland and the portions were tiny!! I felt sorry for the waitress as she was the only one on service and seemed worked off her feet. The pizza and calamari were ok, the lasagna was really bland and so small a real disappointment. We even gave the desserts a go the tiramisu was again ok but the apple strudel was inedible genuinely one of the worst desserts I have ever eaten. Sorry for such a negative review but I hope this helps make the place better.

A very cosy and personal dining experience; the food was amazing and reasonably priced. We were made to feel very welcome and didn't feel rushed to eat or get out like some restaurants are.

I know this place has great reviews but I have to be honest. The staff are absolutely lovely and the menu especially the specials are vast and sounds great, but inside your packed together and you may have to sit in the back part which is not nice. The garlic bread and other thing I had was dry, the spaghetti bol was just ok and everyone I looked at it it reminded me of squid covered in spots. My bf pizza was mediocre . I didn't like my desert. We were next to a really loud Liverpool man and I heard his entire conversation. Also it's in a horrible part of erdington.

Great authentic Italian food, all freshly prepared on site. Excellent friendly service. Probably the best restaurant I've visited in Erdington in my 50 years of living here.

What an absolute gem! An authentic Italian restaurant in a quaint little shop. The food was divine. Handmade on site and all natural ingredients, superb. The waiting staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and made dining out such a pleasant experience. Great prices too, family of three food and drinks for £60. We'll be back.

If you want an authentic Italian…find another restaurant…… cold seafood shells in seafood linguine…. That went back….tiramisu was a sloppy mess topped with squirty cream….. the most disconsurting was being shown photos of the food to order on a mobile phone….Very poor, shall we say...

First time my partner and me have been here. It’s an incredible restaurant! It was busy as expected but they catered for us on our takeaway, a nice red wine while waiting for our food. You can see the food being made fresh and it’s truly exquisite to taste! I’ve been told the chef himself used to serve Pavarotti! Visually stunning little place once you open the door, it is rather small but you can’t fault it one bit, the food is like eating a piece of Italy! Made with love and sends the taste buds partying ! I thoroughly look forward to being back here !

After hearing such positive things about this place we finally visited last night. We were the only table in the restaurant (it was early as I had my 3 year old nephew with me) so I can’t comment on atmosphere. The food was amazing, possibly one of the best pizzas I have ever had. However, the service was not so good. I had to remind them about a soft drink as they had forgotten it, We receive our food at different times, I got my meal last, despite ordering a starter that I had not yet received as so I had to ask where it was. I then ordered another drink that did not arrive as our waiter was stood outside talking. I got the attention of another waiter who eventually bought over my drink. We then ordered desserts, which again, were served at different times and to be honest, not all that great. My Crème Caramel was nowhere near set and almost just mush on a plate. I discussed the issues, however they point blank refused to apply any form of discount because we had eaten the food. Fine, but I expect food to be served to 3 people at the same time, we were not a large party. I also don’t expect to have to ask about starters halfway through my main course. And I don’t expect to wait 20 minutes for a drink. I’d love to say we will return but I’m afraid we won’t be. We thought maybe a delivery would be a good idea, however the prices at £4-£5 more per dish on Deliveroo, so that’s unlikely now. Overall, fabulous food, but they need to sort the service out!

This is just what erdington needed, a really good Italian restaurant. Extremely good food and wine, and outstanding service. Price was good, 3 course meal with good wine for two people came in at 85 quid. Ask about the specials. I can't stress just how good the food and service is. Wish I could give more stars

I went this evening with my husband and 2 daughters, to celebrate my birthday. I really could not of chosen a better place to celebrate. Everyone was so friendly and we felt extremely welcomed. The waitresses was outstanding, very knowledgeable, attentive, helpful and a true asset to the restaurant. The food was out of this world. Went with a couple of special on the menu that was recommended and they were fabulous. The quality of food, flavours and taste were a true delight. We can not wait to return, I definitely would recommend this place. I have been fortunate enough to travel to Italy and eaten some wonderful meals but I would even go as far to say our meal at Pane and Vino was the best meal I have ever eaten.

I found out about this wonderful restaurant on a random Facebook post. I was extremely dubious at first that a restaurant of this calibre could be found in Erdington, but am delighted to be proved wrong ! My family and I visited for the first time last night and we were blown away. The interior is basic, but do not let that put you off. The welcome we received by the waitress (brain fog has caused me to forget her name, so huge apologies), was so warm and engaging. All the specials were expertly and warmly described to us . This young person obviously loved what she was doing and loved what was being provided. To start I had the ham and melon. I was completely overwhelmed by the taste of the melon. It immediately transported me to holidays spent in Europe. You very rarely get fruit tasting like this in England. My partner had the calamari with aioli. The batter was so delicate and the aioli was delicious. My daughter was equally delighted with her bruschetta. I then had the caserecci n’duja. The waitress told me she eats this everyday. If I worked there, so would I ! Absolutely delicious. My partner had a pepperoni pizza, and declared that it even had a crispy bottom and reminded him if the ones we had in Italy. Coming from someone that is not a foody , that was praise indeed. My daughter had the carbonara and was equally delighted. Of course we had to try the desserts. My daughter had tiramisu, which looked and tasted amazing. I had basil panne cotta. This was gorgeous. The taste of basil did not overwhelm this dish, which was something I was worried about. Instead it was a refreshing hint of basil, with lemon cutting through it. It was almost like a palette cleanser. Definitely the perfect way to end a meal. We were also presented with a small glass of sweet wine at the end . The waitress knew that unfortunately I couldn’t drink alcohol, but didn’t want me to be left, out so bought me a small glass of grape juice. This topped off a wonderful evening in this fantastic restaurant . We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Went at lunchtime. The chefs came to say hello and chat, the waitress was lovely and warm.The food was incredible. Every dish was freshly made, delicious, we all had starters, main courses and desserts ‐ at a really decent price. All the usual italian staples like carbonara, bolognese etc available but also interesting regional dishes. The squid ink fettuccine with octopus and clams was absolutely 💯 and the ciambellone, never had that before but completely blown away. Stunning food.

This is our first time visit after shopping in Costco Birmingham. Dishes are very traditional and yummy. Highly recommended their desserts. Staff are friendly and helpful and invited us to taste a wine that is rarely found. We would definitely come again.Thank you.

Fantastic service and fantastic food

I can't believe this is on my doorstep and I never knew. I came here for the first time today and can't explain how much I enjoyed it. The menu is vast and incredibly reasonably priced, and the quality is unbelievably good. My only regret is driving so I couldn't have a glass of wine - I only got part of the experience! I will definitely be back - quite frequently I suspect! - and can't recommend it highly enough

I am sorry people but this is ABSOLUTELY NOT genuine ITALIAN CUISINE!! Never seen Brushetta served with a dressing of savoy cabbage???? The chefs are NOT Italian. The steaks were truly disgusting.. The Carbonara was served with a very odd transparent see through sauce. The sea bass was half a seabass fillet ...limp and very poorly executed vegetables.....if you want truly gastronomical ITALIAN FOOD....THIS IS NOT THE PLACE!!!!

Disappointing quality and fairly pricey for portion sizes. Beer is inexpensive though. A pretty underwhelming experience and I shall not be returning any day soon.
