Sapore in Birmingham

It is overpriced and the portions are just about above kids menu. Somehow doesn’t feel like homemade from raw ingredients. The starter bruschetta not sure whether was freshly made. The fish is just like expensive fish&chips but small just above the kids menu, lasagna watery and chicken breast piled without quality arrangement. Good points were the starter bread with olive oil and the tiramisu. Could not remember whether being asked about the usual dietary allergies questions. The service was nice but noting special about the atmosphere. Not surprisingly just two tables were busy lunch time bank holiday. Mixed feelings but will not go back.

Great food, chef willing to go off menu and make dishes more veggie friendly. Great service all around. Highly recommend!

Booked a table for a birthday, first time here, the staff were welcoming and friendly, the food was amazing and the portions are 100% value for money. They even brought a birthday dessert as I asked for a little birthday suprise and it was lovely. I will definitely come here again.

A group of 6 of us went to this restaurant after work and had the early bird menu .It was the first time I had been here.. The food was beautiful and every dish was very tasty and freshly cooked. The service was excellent. I live the other side of Birmingham but would definitely return to this restaurant as the food was so good !

We came here to celebrate a 16th birthday party. The food was great although some dishes I thought the portion size was a bit on the small side for the price. The service was excellent as we were a large party and meals came out fairly quickly.

Have been here a few times, and every time, it is consistent with excellent service and friendly staff. The food is fresh and beautiful with plenty of choice from the drinks, to the desserts and I couldn't recommend this place enough. Recently visited and we had two little ones with us, and they catered to them to, so very family orientated. Nothing is too much trouble.

A tough one this....fantastic that people have given up their xmas to serve us but the food was only very average tbh but the service & atmosphere wre both very good so it's levelled it back up a touch & I'm sure outside of the christmas period this is a decent restaurant...this is a christmas day dinner review

Had some takeaway pizza from here on Friday night and they were absolutely beautiful. Nicest pizza’s in sheldon. Price was about £13 per pizza which was very reasonable when compared with dominoes or Pizza Hut and was so much nicer food.

Lo único malo es que vivimos a 3 horas y solo estuvimos aquí como nuestra hija estuvo en el concierto de Charli XCX... ¡nos vemos en el próximo concierto! x

Great little Italian restaurant. The food, like the staff was lovely. They listened to our comments on of their dishes which them implemented the next day for us.

This place was fine, though the music was a bit loud, which made communication difficult. The food was OK, though the garlic bread was devoid of the taste of garlic. The staff were slow to take our food order, though we did not have to wait too long until the food came out piping hot. Unfortunately some plates were warm and others were cold. Little minor niggles I know, but on the whole a reasonable place to eat.

He comido en muchos restaurantes en todo el país, pero la comida y el servicio en Sapore fue el mejor que he experimentado. El filete era nada menos que excelente. El paté de hígado de pollo y tiramisú era excelente también y el merlot era moreish y muy razonable precio. Quedamos tan impresionados esta noche que reservamos nuestra cena de Navidad también. Por favor, venga a visitar esta joya escondida, no se decepcionará. Sé que faltan meses pero ya estoy deseando nuestra cena de Navidad. Saludos al chef y al encantador y atento equipo de servicio. Sin duda seremos clientes habituales aquí. Manténganse al día.

Despite being given the wrong starters, which we didn't complain about, the food was excellent. The service was good and on New Years Eve the chatter in the restaurant was quite lively and loud. Will definitely be returning.

Went for lunch, good range on the menu, good service. I had the lasagne and loved it.

We went for meal and found the staff really friendly (thank you Maria)and a lovely relaxing atmosphere. The food was all hot and lovely and it was the best calzone I have had would recommend this place and it is reasonably priced.

Me and my boyfriend absolutely love it here, it’s our favourite restaurant! The most perfect authentic Italian restaurant, the food is always amazing, great portion sizes, good prices and fabulous service! The staff are always lovely and are super attentive, they’re always happy to give recommendations, they know the food and drinks menu so well. Our personal favourites are the Penne Amatriciana, Lasagne and Spaghetti Carbonara 🩷 They also bring out a free appetiser of bread, a butter (always different flavours!), olive oil and balsamic vinegar! It really feels like you’re in Italy but really in Birmingham 😂😩 Definitely give it a try, a super underrated restaurant! Thank you so much for always making our date nights so enjoyable with amazing food and a great service!

This was our first visit and we were very impressed and will return when next in the area, just wish they were closer to home and not nearly 40 miles away. The seven of us really enjoyed our meals and my Calzone was fantastic.

Excellent food and service to go with it

Took my parents out for their wedding anniversary. The food was absolutely excellent, with great wait staff, just the right level of attentiveness, without being overbearing. Not the cheapest of places, but worth every penny! Thanks for a great night out.

Great food and friendly staff. We been at Sapore many times and we always been satisfied. Nice atmosphere friendly staff and the food is fantastic and good value for money.

I will definitely come back, the food was so tasty and beautifully presented. I had the seabass with roasted vegetables and enjoyed it to the last bit. I also enjoyed the family kind of atmosphere and how relaxed both the staff and other customers were.

Nice Italian restaurant with fair pricing. Service was good and attentive with the staff happy to help and edit orders if needed. We visited on a Friday night and it seemed a bit quiet which is a shame as I found the atmosphere quite nice. Parking isn't ideal, but there is a side street you could park on. I found the food very good(spaghetti bollognese) a large portion, hot and made very well. My daughter ordered the Calzone which was huge, and I also thought tasted good. The chicken was a bit overcooked however which would be the only downside. A good experience overall

Best Italian food I've had in Birmingham, reasonably priced too when compared with less impressive Italian restaurants in the city centre.

Mediocre food (considering the price). The cannoli was a bit bland in the filling. The tiramisu was okay (not as fab as expected considering other reviews) Staff were great. Overall… okay/alright

We don’t live in Birmingham but my mother recommended that myself and my husband dine here as she adores it. WOW!!!!!! You are stupid if you do not go and try the food here. We were blown away!!! Stunning food fabulous good old fashioned service and extremely friendly and welcoming people. Two people well travelled and ate in main places around the world. By far in our top 10 places to eat. Well done guys can’t wait to return.

Went to this restaurant as a family of four. The adults had the early bird menu. £13.95 for a three course meal. The food was beautiful!! It took me back to Rome. The children had just mains. There is a child menu. But mine children are 11,13. So will just have mains. The staff were really nice too. I would definitely go back. And it is just what the area needs.

This restaurant is lovely, well lit and comfortable. Very nice table service and selection of food and drinks. I felt very relaxed and enjoyed the food. The only thing I was slightly disappointed with was the mixed salad that I ordered. I had to remind the waiter that I had ordered it and when it arrived it was just a bowl of rocket leaves with some parmesan shaves in it. I had imagined something with mixed leaves, olives, tomatoes etc. I wouldn't order this side again. Nonetheless I had a very nice time and the rest of the food was lovely, including the creme brulee that we had for dessert. Well worth a visit!

Food was excellent!......Well presented and very tasty. Service was equally good. It wasn't busy when we went but I've been to restaurants where it hasn't been busy and yet service has been poor. The lady who served us was very engaging and made recommendations which was nice. I will be going back again.

We chose this restaurant as it was near the airport hotels and some friends were flying out the next day. None of us were local and we did not see any reviews beforehand , however we were ALL delighted with the quality of the food, the friendly service and cleanliness of the restaurant. The special menu available all day on a Sunday is excellent value. We all agreed that should we be in the area again that we would definitely book this little gem of a restaurant.

This restaurant has gone from excellent to very average. The service was ok but the food is lacking in freshness and was obviously frozen and defrosted quickly. The floor manager was uninterested in our needs and seemed to simply want us in and out as quickly as possible.

A great family run Italian restaurant It was a last minute booking for a Friday evening sand it was way to get a a table for us. The place had live music during the night. The portions are good as the taste. loved the pizza and pasta. Bread comes complimentary, so you can plan your dishes accordingly. I will visit again.

Mum lives in Sheldon and we always land up.at Sapore for dinner. Excellent choice of food - freshly cooked and delicious. Their early bird special is excellent value for money. The whole team are friendly and attentive. If you live near by go and check it out. If your passing and want good quality food you know where to go!

The lunch deals are great value, as is the early bird specials!! Plus the food is amazing and worth a trip out. The service was amazing, very attentive and happy to alter items to suit dietary needs.

Went for a Family Birthday meal. Place is very clean and tidy and the waiter and waitress were good but the food was dog awful. Dry. Bland. Some of the worst italian food ive ever tasted. My son had a carbonara and honestly ive made better at home. Garlic bread was dry with the least amount of garlic actually put onto it. We had a Pizza that was very poor. When you've had better from Dominos then you know this place is in trouble. Calzone tasted like a Findus pancake. Lasagne was like one out of a microwave. Straight up one of the worst eating experiences ive had and it cost me over £150. Bella Italia is way better than here. Good waiting staff. Clean and modern decor. Terrible location. Dreadful food and mega expensive. Never again.

Lovely independent Italian restaurant with good quality food and drink.

Oh Mamma Mia. We choose this place to eat the night before our flight based on the reviews ……mistake We ordered the goat cheese starter and rice balls but these honestly tasted and looked like mamma Mia went to Iceland. We then ordered the chicken in cream sauce with potatoes and chicken with tomato sauce and potatoes. The chicken was nothing to right home about and the 4 tiny potatoes that were stone cold and we left most of them. I would normal be sarcastic and make a joke about the place but honestly after paying for this meal I have lost my sense of humour and feel like the joke was on me. If I could give 0 out of 5 I would….. but Tripadvisor only allows a 1.

We arrived to a very warm welcome all staff could not do enough for us set lunch menu outstanding value for money and the food was heavenly recommend trying the coctails the cosmopolitan and the belini fabulous best tiramasu ever tasted food the food that good we have even ordered a pizza to take home can't wait to back to this wonderful resturant

Fantastic food with discreet, and attentive service. Our second time eating here. There’s a great choice. The special was monkfish in a tomato based sauce with green beans which was delicious and a generous portion. Best thing I’ve eaten for manyyears in a restaurant. Three of us enjoyed the special and my husband looked on with jealousy. So good we forgot to take a picture. I’ve a dairy allergy which was handled with quiet grace - not my normal experience! Can’t wait to go back.

We were a large party celebrating the 90th Birthday of our family matriarch... the staff were amazing & dealt with us all very well. The drinks were flowing, food orders taken. The food was superb, everyone enjoyed their meal. We will definitely come back but promise that it will be in smaller parties next time. We went to see my parents for Father’s Day in Birmingham and Sapore was the choice of restaurant for Father’s Day It did not disappoint From the time we arrived to when we left the experience was amazing The food was delicious my Steak Diana was amazing you could cut the steak with a butter knife compliments to the chef All the dishes we had were amazing and the tiramisu was to die for The set menu had a great choice of dishes and was great value The staff were very attentive and so friendly nothing was too much We loved it and we will definitely be back Thank you Sapore
