Beautiful restaurant, with lots of elegant and beautiful decoration. The wait for the food was acceptable and it was quite good. Respectful of spicy/non-spicy indications. When you pay they give you some chocolate bars with liqueur (keep in mind children).

Dine here many times years ago, decided to revisit and noticed there’s little to no change to the deco and ambience of Chao phraya! Still beautiful and grand as ever. However, I have noticed there’s a change in their food taste and flavour. The green curry was a let down with unpleasant spices used instead of the authentic Thai gaeng keow wan recipe. Khua Kling was good but lack of spiciness and saltiness. Som tum was also mild and lack impact. Deep fried aubergine was close to perfection but wish there was more basil and sauce to it. Since the Fish cakes (Hor Mok pla) wasn’t available they recommended Salt and pepper squid which was pleasant and fresh. I won’t recommend this place if you are expecting authentic Thai food but mainly for its decoration and location. If they have options to adjust the spiciness and authenticity of the food quality I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Excellent meal in very impressive surroundings 😋 Service could be improved, however... Luckily, I had checked out the menus in advance and was aware of the lunch menu. We were only given the a la carte menu when we sat down, and I had to ask specifically for the lunch menu 😕 Service on the whole was quite slow, but it didn't bother our particular group, as we were in for a good catch-up 😁

One of the worst restaurants. We went in at 2 and could come out only by 3.30. Very very very slow service. To top it all they add a service charge and don't mention it when being paid that it is optional. You miss it on the bill and that's it. No smiles - maybe because of us being Asian. We had such a nice experience at Chaophraya Birmingham. However this one totally sucks.

This created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was incredible, loved the sharing plates and the mains. The puddings were my highlight as I have a very sweet tooth and they were great for sharing too. Highly recommend for birthdays and also there is the space for very large groups. I have aten here several times before, however yesterday's visit was a disappointment. Very expensive, a shared starter for 2 + a bottle of water was £31.00. My Pad Thai meal included tofu which was overcooked hard and rubbery and the veg and sauce was dry. The other meal, was apparently ok. The meal included a pint and a half of beer. The total paid was just under £90 but they add a service charge on top which we decided not to pay, under the circumstances. Beautiful building inside but the food and water was extortionate for the quantity and quality that was received, on this occasion. I would've preferred to pass on my comments but they didn't ask and I was too tired to make an issue of it.

Quite disappointed. Had booked a table for me and my wife as part of a wee day out. We arrived at 12.40 and had a theatre show at 2:30. When we arrived we were the onle people there with thd exception if 1 table who were already eating. Come 13:30 we were surrounded by a pretty busy restaurant about 16 full tables with about 12 eating. One table had actually come been served / ate and left all before our food came. We mentioned this and asked for our starters and mains to come together. Once served our food now about 13:45 We then rushed our food and paid the bill. Food was OK but expensive. Meal for 2 I.e 2 starters 2 mains 2 soft drinks 1 beer came to £100.00, I've ate better thai food and generally pay 60-70. Other establishments like bar soba or wagamamma are cheaper, faster and the food is better. Don't think we will return.

Atmosphere was, as usual, pretty good. Food was decent, though perhaps not as tasty as previous visits. However, what was really poor was the length of time we waited for starters and mains. The bill had 12.5% service already added to it, and when I mentioned how slow service was, the waitress said "Yes, a lot of tables have complained about that tonight". She didn't get the irony in adding 12.5% when service was a really very poor! In the end, we deducted some of the service charge.

Always loved this place but probably will not be back we travelled from NI on a short break looking forward to eating here again....very disappointed.

Good food and decent portions, but very expensive for what it is. Service was atrocious. Arrived at 2010. Order taken at 2020- ordered the set menu . At about 2050 I asked where the starters were, and was told as it was Saturday night it was busy and there was a back up (unsure why this is an issue, it's not as if it is unexpected). Starters arrived at 2110 after reminding them. Mains arrived at 2140 and we finished pretty quickly. Our food was cleared away pretty quickly, and restaurant started to die down. We were left until 2235 until I had to remind someone that we had ordered the set menu and questioning where the dessert was. The dessert came shortly after, but the waiters didn't seem aware we had ordered the set menu, and we had essentially been forgotten about, sitting idley. Poor service all over for such an expensive "fine dining" restaurant.

I have been here many times, always dining on the main/ala carte menu. As well as this I have bought numerous vouchers for family as gifts over the last year. This time we went for the Thai afternoon tea as a treat after Christmas. Whilst the food tasted good, the amount of food on the afternoon tea was extremely terrible value for money! At £70 (£35 per person) you really need to re-think that menu, or bring the cost right down. Extortionate amount of money for an amount of food I would say, for 1 person, at most! We left there hungry and I was really annoyed at paying £70 for what felt like a shared Starter. Doubtful we'll be spending any more money at this restaurant.

The entrance and interior decor of the restaurant are quite splendid, creating a fantastic ambiance. Booking a table in advance over the phone is very convenient. The flavor of the dishes is comparable to Ting Thai in the West End, but the prices are 2-3 times higher. This Thai restaurant in Glasgow is the only one offering Mongo Sticky Rice with Coconut Milk and Pineapple Rice, adding a unique touch. Lamb curry was average, and the portion sizes are rather small. A service charge of 12.5% is applied, which falls in the mid-range. The staff is reasonably friendly.

Drinks order was incomplete. Food was good. Had fishcakes, and seafood curry. Banana fritter was under par, lacking taste. Banana was like mush, and unsure what it had been cooked beside but I would suggest cross contamination. Others in the party had a vegetarian option, which there are plenty of. The whole experience was great from start to finish. My wife and I ordered six dishes between us and all of them hit the mark. Jungle curry had a good assortment of vegetables and just the right level of spice. If you didn't know any different, you'd be mistaken for thinking that you were in Thailand such was the authenticity of the Chicken Pad Ka Pao. Tom Yam Goong met the approval of my demanding wife and the King Prawn Fried Rice with Pineapple was superb. All washed down with a decent bottle of Rjoca. The service was prompt and helpful. We were even moved to a bigger table to accommodate the amount of food that we ordered. Only disappointment was that we only found Chaophraya on our last day in Glasgow. Oh, and before I forget, the restaurant is in a stunning building with statues, carvings, chandeliers and various other wonders. Bit of a hike up a couple of floors but well worth the effort.

Definitely the best Thai I’ve tried in Glasgow! We had the dumplings and summer rolls for starters which were really great and I had the crispy chili tofu for main which was delicious! My parents had the drunken noodles and a duck dish which they both really enjoyed. Be prepared that the dishes described as spicy really are extremely spicy! The staff were so attentive and lovely, and quickly boxed up our food for us when we had to leave as we lost track of time. Drinks were great too and the ambience was really nice. Will definitely be back soon!

Little pricier but best pad thai I’ve ever had (don’t have a ton of experience with Thai food tho)

Dreadful. Overcooked meat (chicken and pork) and very dry rice. Sauce with a little honey was incredibly sweet. Meat in top of salad so wilting. Everything seems pre cooked and heated up in a wok. Not nice at all. Amazed by the positive reviews. Very uncomfortable canteen style restaurant and overpriced for what it is.
