Chan's Chinese Takeaway in Wiltshire

We have used Chans before and been very impressed but last nights takeaway left an awful lot to be desired. Spare ribs were dry and over cooked. Ordered Hong Style pork and received pork balls, prawn chow mein consisted of only noodles and 6 prawns and finally chicken with ginger and spring onion had absolutely no ginger at all. We will not be using again.

Ordered a takeaway….. never again ! Thought we would treat ourselves but after attempting to eat the food, it’s gone in the bin and we are having a sandwich ! Bland and made from packet mixes AND expensive YUK ! On the plus side the delivery was very quick (probably due to having no other customers) and the delivery person was lovely.

I’ve tried most of the local Chinese takeaways, but this one is the best. Deliveries arrive hot, and food always tastes fresh (not reheated). Service is also great, and staff friendly

Delivery, disappointed, never again. What a waste of money, did leave message for own..... no reply!!! All went in the bin. Dont waste your time or money.

Worst takeaway in Amesbury. Save yourself don’t buy from them.. I went there for dinner and the food was so bad I had to bin it. £16 pound down the drain..

Pretty good thank you Chans some of the food a bit different but tasty and nice, I’d go back and I would recommend.

This is our 3rd time going to CHANS, one word amazing. They are all extremely warm and welcoming. All the staff even say "goodnight" and "enjoy" and the lovely lady at the desk has always greeted us with a smile. The food has always been awesome and we have never suffered from that salty aftermath of the usual Chinese. The one where it feels like someone has stuffed a sponge in your mouth. I highly recommend CHANS

What a shame used to be the best in the area, now under new management and food is Awful . Egg fried rice was boiled rice with scrambled egg mixed in. Veg curry was vile and seemed to be watered down

The food was delicious, we particularly enjoyed the salt and pepper chicken and the Singapore chow Mein. The service was also great and the staff were very friendly. Would go again!

Used chans for years first time with new owners never again food was disgusting curry sauce like bowl of water egg fried rice like boiled rice chowmein like instant super noodles attitude when called back up was appalling never again

After using Chans for many years and always having good food we thought we would order some food from the new owners , sadly it was awful, my meal was cold and the sauce was gloppy , the chicken looked as if it had been boiled. Wife’s veg curry was watery and sweet with hardly any curry taste. The veg were almost raw and cold. Sons Chilli beef was inedible and his egg fried rice seemed to be boiled rice with bits of scrambled egg thrown in. Chips were cold, we won’t be ordering from them again!!

Absolutely shocking service, was spoken to like a piece of dirt from the beginning by the lady on the phone who took our order, made us feel like an inconvenience because we didn’t want a lot of food and was trying to get us to spend more, then we wanted to change our sweet and sour sauce for peanut satay, said it wasn’t able to be changed but could charge us extra for it. When our food did come they got the order wrong and we didn’t have even have what we ordered, I called back and she was extremely rude and unapologetic and blamed it on us. Horrid customer service avoid this at all costs.

Started to use Chans after our usual Chinese takeaway fell below par. The food is always of the highest quality and I would highly recommend.

We were staying at the nearby Travelodge and picked this for our takeaway meal. We had a mixed curry and a mixed chop suey. Both were tasty with plenty of meat. A good meal.
