Chan's in Medway

Really disappointed normally food is good but twice now the food has been bland, dry and noodles taste funny. Sorry to say I won't be returning.

Food always hot . Have been going here a few years now and have never been disappointed

Ordered egg fried rice but got plain and the lemon chicken was bland and chewy.

Had 2 friends round for a takeaway, was very unimpressed. Duck was overcooked dry tough unedable. Chicken Chinese was worse we ever tasted, tough again unedable, maybe reheated left over from lunch. WILL NOT BE USING THEM AGAIN.

Has anyone actually seen the state of the kitchen? When’s the last time it got rated? Terrible. Turnt up to collect food and see the state of the kitchen put me right off my food. Ribs over the side uncovered, honestly and the food itself was terrible. No wonder it’s cash only. About time its had its rating review looked at / hygiene…

Had 2 deep fried chilli beef dishes along with couple of rice's the chilli beef was vile beef was cooked well but the sauce was awful. They cant call it deep chilli beef just for putting chilli's in a sweet and sour sauce that taste like pure oil uterly revolting and the rice was worse then a uncle Ben's microwave pack, go the golden dragon just down the road 100× better and don't get the god awful customer service hope this helps👍🏼

Prices have gone up, but still good quality

Greasy as hell, if you like your whole Chinese tasting of deep fat fryer then this is the place for you. The only nice part was the chow mein hence 2 stars. I would not recommend there is a much nicer Chinese just over the road

Always get great service and great food from Chans. Cash only, collection only, but nevertheless its the only Chinese we use now.

Great Chinese take away 5* from the Councils hygiene inspection team as well ! Very reasonably priced as well . Loads of Parking right outside as well.

Have used this place many times. Will never use again as I'm sure chow mein isn't supposed to smell like urine!!

Spent £40 last night on our order, when we received it it was dreadful. Chicken curry was like water , crispy shredded beef bland and dry as well as the chips. For the money we paid we hardly got anything. Won’t be using again.

A fab take out this week as a birthday treat. Food was ready when they said it would be, came.nice and hot and was delicious. Good prices and they got our special requests correct for no onions and an off the menu duck dish.

Used the restaurant for many years and was always very nice. The last couple of times the food has been very poor, raw chips, tasteless dishes and cold food. I will not be using again.

By far the best Chinese I've had Cooked fresh in front shop with collection time of 10-30 minutes depending on peak times. Lost count of how many times I've ordered from Chans but I can tell you I've never been dissatisfied in anything

Have used Chan's twice now and I expect I will use them again, food is very good and service extremely quick and friendly

Not been here for over ten years but in the area so thought I’d give a go. Food wasn’t bad and as I remembered. Not bad price too although surprised that even now they only take cash.

It had been a while since I got food from Here as I preferred another local take away but lots of people say good things so have it another go , the fried rice was bland , more like boiled rice , the chow main was a bit too firm and he Singapore noodles was a bit sloppy , the Mini spring roles being tasteless and the curry sauce taste much like cinnamon . Non of us enjoyed this so never again. The beef dish was nice though.

Went here for the first time the other day, looks lovely and clean and the staff were really friendly, however I’m afraid the food was just bland! It’s the same story throughout the Medway towns and I can’t find a decent chinese takeaway anywhere.I ordered crispy duck which was tasteless and the onions and cucumber were really dry like they were pre prepared and left in a fridge, my special fried rice was quite simply not special but the chips were ok.If you’re just looking for fast food to fill you up then I guess this will do but I’m afraid I’m looking for flavour and a reason to go back for more! Sadly as with all the others I’ve tried in Medway.. I won’t be back!

Good food, but can be very busy. Even calling order though ends up in waiting, typically the estimated waiting times are off on Friday and Saturday nights.

Chowmein had weird taste and smelt like cigarette smoke could not eat it. Gone down hill massively since I last used. Think this will be the last time.

Often use Chan as it is the best around. They have a phone order service if required. We usually just go to shop and order. Quick freshly cooked food.always polite however busy they are. And they do get VERY BUSY. Never had a bad meal from here and I'm really fussy

Chan's is our local, and we love it! If ever we order a chinese whilst we're away from home, from another chinese, we're always really disappointed ! All staff are really friendly, service is efficient, and i love that the whole kitchen is on full view. No hiding anything!

The BEST Chinese takeaway. I've been going there for few months. It's the best and I will not go to anywhere else. Highly recommend if you crave for some Chinese.

This is the best chinese food so far. The food is excellent, not too greasy and its freshly cooked in an open kitchen. The kitchen is very clean as you can see how they cook your food. Its not like other chinese take away shops that I had which were very dirty in and out. It also comes with free prawn crackers.The staffs are very friendly and helpful even I had special requests. The only downsize is they dont do delivery which is absolutely fine by me. You can call up and order and it will be ready in 10 minutes. Not like other chinese take away shops, they will tell you 40 mins waiting time but it ended up an hour and half waiting time and the food was absoutely cold. I will recommend to anyone who live near by this area. You will not be disappointed.

Never been a great one for Chinese but tried this out on the spur of the moment and found it to be very good. Friendly service, clean, good food. All to our liking and will be using again.

Ordered a special chow mien and two spring roles for my wife and myself. I had raised the issue prior to order that the last special chow mien we ordered contained hardly contained any meat. This time the chow mien was fine but the spring rolls were atrocious -large, bland, and very little in it apart bean sprouts. We will not be using them again. Poor Service.

Excellent Chinese food. Very clean kitchen area and you can actually see them cooking your food. I have been to Chans a few times and have had consistently well cooked and tasty food. I will be going again at some point.

I have been using this takeaway since moving to the area in 2007 and have to say that it is the best in the area. Food is always hot and tasty and prepared in front of you due to an open style kitchen. Always busy with friendly staff. Highly recommended. Shame you can’t rate above 5 stars. 🙂

I REVIEWED THIS TAKEAWAY BEFORE I WENT, I moved away from the area some years ago. Would definitely never return, special chow mein was greasy, with hardly any meat, and the curry was also greasy and pretty bland, we threw most of it away, extremely Disappointing.

We've been using this take away since we moved in 21 years ago! I couldn't fault at all. Food has been hot and tasty every time. Never had any problems at all! The staff are always kind and friendly. Can't quibble at all.

been using for yrs but the last couple of wks it has been horrid where I have put it in the bin chips over cooked chicken near burnt and ribs no meat on them really gravy disgusting aswell so finding another one to use on a fri evening from now on

Cooked fresh to order, friendly staff and clean shop. Food is tasty and piping hot only negative was that the chow menu was a little greasy this time but lots of flavour.

We have been using chans for well over 10 years now and always have a great experience, the food is superb the staff are friendly and efficient. We have tried a number of dishes and all have been tasty and our children love getting a take away from here and believe me that is a massive compliment to the food

This take away is a gem. Fast, polite and always tasty. The set meals are phenomenal- a good variety of dishes, and always generous portions. They are also happy to modify their meals. Don't be afraid to ask for extra chilli - it sets off the Singapore Vermicelli nicely! Chans has become firm favourite - we have been going there for at least the past 15 years!

The best in the area! Eaten here for 3 years and never had a problem. The huge spring rolls are home made. You can see the food being cooked and it's got a 5* spot check hygiene rating. Only nthing is they don't take cards. CASH ONLY.

Had always been very pleased but today ordered crispy shredded beef with chilli and found the small size pot not filled to the top and so much liquid that it undermined the quantity drastically and at £4.80 very poor value. The last time the pot was filled and an expected amount of chilli liquid was there. Also think there was one less chicken ball in the sweet and sour and the special fried rice was in a smaller pot, these last two comments I can't swear to but definitely the shredded beef was a let down.

Awful, only used it because Golden Dragon was so crowded. Ordered sweet and sour chicken Cantonese style that wasn't in bag when I got home. Phoned them they said I didn't order it. No sweet and sour sauce for chicken balls. Curry sauce cold, ribs so salty I couldn't eat them. Worst Chinese I've ever had !
